Little House in the Great Big Woods

I highly recommend the Little House in the Woods if you are in the Ruston area! My husband and I were in town for a baseball series against LaTech and travelling with a pet. The house was immaculate upon arrival and had everything we and our pooch needed. I loved relaxing on the front screened porch in the evenings. It's a very quick ride to Ruston for restaurants and stores. Also want to add that everyone in the area was so friendly!

My family and I had a wonderful stay. The home was gorgeous and so clean. The appliances in the kitchen were new and easy to use. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony and watching the stillness of the water. The kids loved the game room and enjoyed playing ping pong. We all walked to the deck and went fishing and we caught about 5 fish! 🤗 The kids were so excited about that. We threw them back into the lake though.. The kids loved their room which had bunkbeds & all 5 kids were able to stay in the same room which was really fun for them. The bathtubs have steamy hot water! Most of all, I loved the small intricate details like the cross in the hallway, small angel statues in the kids room, and the books they chose for the bookshelf. I am so impressed with the intentionality they took with their home. 💕The owners are so friendly and sweet. We would definitely stay again.👍

My wife and I had such an amazing time. Beautiful lake off the river. So peaceful. Joseph was very helpful in recommending local restaurants and activities. The home was well maintained, clean, and welcoming. Highly recommend. We definitely have it as one of our favorite peaceful getaway spots and hope to return someday soon!!

Brandon's cabin was great. He met us there shortly after we arrived to show us around and make sure our check in went smooth. The hot water is HOT and the beds were very comfortable. It was quiet and relaxing being so close to the river. We had a water pipe burst due to mother nature and he was quick to come and fix it for us. He even let us use the washing machine in his near by cabin while he was fixing the pipes (and that place is just as awesome. I would recommend either place) He was quick to respond to all our questions. The road going to the cabin is a dirt road and did have some deeper pot holes of water/mud to avoid due to recent rain. There were people traveling in and out in cars with no issues but just be aware if you have a low profile vehicle and it has rained there recently. But no fault of Brandon's at all, he can't control that. We will definitely stay again.

We stayed at Becky’s place for a baseball tournament and made it a boys weekend on the lake. It was absolutely perfect! The place was so clean and looked like it had just been remodeled. The scenery was perfect, and we even caught a few fish from the dock. We will definitely be looking to stay again when we are in the area!

The Classic cabin was a great place for our family to stay for a college visit. The cabin matched the great photos, and the entire site was more beautiful than expected. We also enjoyed the pond views that can be seen from all the cabins, and we loved the nature sounds as we sipped our coffee from the comfortable rockers on the front porch. Would love to come back for a longer stay and try out the fire pit area in front of the cabin.

If anything can be said, the descriptions and pictures are an understatement of the beauty and quality of Lisa's house on the lake. This is one of the prettiest locations on Lake D'Arbonne and is a perfect spot to enjoy. The house has everything anyone can need, is very well laid out and has a very warm and cozy atmosphere, great for families. As a senior with limited mobility, the house and yard were very easy to get around and seniors will not have any issues with staying here. Overall, I can't rate Lisa's house at the lake any higher cause they don't have a 6-star rating. Lisa is a great host, and I heartily recommend everyone to look at staying with her any time.

We had such a relaxing peaceful time. The kids done some fishing while I sipped my coffee from the balcony. Me and my daughter done some baking and the kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were really comfortable. The sitting area on the bottom area had plenty of room for the whole family. We had a great time and if we are ever in the area again we will definitely stay here again.

This lake house was perfect for our family weekend getaway. It was very peaceful and the gazebo sitting area was perfect for looking out onto the lake and talking. There were a couple of issues that were quickly resolved and the kitchen was perfect for cooking and hanging out. The large game room downstairs would be perfect for kids. The home is located adjacent to an RV park, but it was quiet and we did not have any issues. The internet is satellite, so not as fast as traditional broadband, but cellular service with AT&T was fine. Would definitely recommend this home for anyone looking for a peaceful weekend!!
