We have stayed at the hotel a couple of times and we absolutely love it! Best boutique hotel in Reno, hands down.

Zora Room at the Gilded Drifter Inn Loyalton

Cute, cozy place to stay. Felt like being in a home, appreciated the kitchen & that there were some herbs & oils, etc. The floor was a bit creaky & the walls a tad thin so could hear other guests roaming around when they were being loud. No major complaints though.

Wilde Room at Gilded Drifter Inn Loyalton

My stay at Guilded Drifter Inn was amazing. After a long day on the bicycle, Chelsea was very welcoming. She has all the amenities needed for weary bikepackers to feel comfortable. Speaking of comfortable, the bed in my room was the best nights sleep I’ve had in a long time. The kitchen was a nice addition, so I didn’t have to unpack my camp stove. I would stay there again the next time I’m coming through Loyalton. Thank you Chelsea for making me feel at home.

New luxury private hotel room. Desolation Hotel.

NancyRating, 5 stars9 months ago
The place was exactly like the photos but I did expect it to be more like an apartment and it really is a hotel . Unfortunately we booked thinking it had a view like the photos but we ended up getting a room downstairs so no view available. The staff is super help and friendly and the amenities too notch . The use of the private beach that is a 10 min walk was definitely worth it although we did think it was beachfront and it isn’t . Other then that a hotel I would definitely book again

(ADA) Luxury private hotel room. Desolation Hotel.

The Desolation is a true gem. Modern and beautiful, with every convenience imaginable. Tons of EV chargers on site. Keyless room key and remote check-in. The room is super tech enabled, all of which worked perfectly. Great furnishings, amazing and super well-equipped kitchen, stunning bathroom and outdoor deck with hot tub bathtub, sitting space, heater, etc. Just perfect little ski hideaway. Great gym, with treadmill, multiple Peloton bikes, weights, mats, bands, water dispenser, rollers, accessible 24/7. On site laundry right down the hall with really nice machines - great for a winter/wet weather trip. Maggies restaurant on the third floor is really really excellent. AND on top of all of this it is walkable to the Heavenly base and lifts as well as several parks for great snowshoeing (one of the really nice ones runs right along the state line near the gondola. We will most definitely be back. Just a superb experience and great on-site support as well.
A serene bedroom is featured with natural wood accents and a large window, allowing soft light to fill the space. The spacious bed is flanked by modern wall sconces, and a cozy fireplace is integrated into the wooden wall, enhancing a sense of comfort.

Brand new luxury private townhome w/private garage

YonRating, 5 stars22 months ago
The Desolation Hotel is the perfect place for a long weekend with the pups. The hotel is centrally located so it’s walkable to stores and parts of the lake. The El Dorado townhouse is like staying in your own apartment with all of the necessary amenities. You can’t hear the neighbors either - which is always ideal. As other reviewers mentioned, Eric and the hotel staff are super. Very helpful and friendly. Very clean and loved the Chemex, along with the Desolation House Coffee. :) The only thing to note is if you’re traveling with dogs, you’ll likely need to carry them into the townhouse due to a grate/walkway to step into the doorway. Small paws will slip through the gap on the grate. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel!
