House vacation rentals in Totonicapán Department

This is by far the best Airbnb I have ever stayed at. I’ve traveled to a lot of Airbnb’s in many different countries and none compare to this. Finding this place is surely an adventure but once you are there, you don’t want to leave! I can’t say enough good things about the chefs that will cook you every meal. We had them do all the shopping for our meals along with other items we wanted such as water and beer. The housekeeper services that help coordinate private boat rides to other villages, keeping the place clean, or even small things such as turning on the hot tub while we are away are truly incredible perks of this place. The property and views are just amazing and I can’t wait to come back here for my next stay!

This Airbnb is what Airbnb was supposed to be 10 years ago. It’s not just another property from a manager that you never see. Jean was very warm welcoming and welcomed us herself on our arrival. She was very proactive by giving us some tips from what to do, where to go or eat. She answered really quickly and helped us organized some massage sessions. The property is as described. The heated pool, the private beach and dock. Be aware that there are a lot of steps in the property and that arriving there from San Marcos may be a little difficult because of the road. But in my opinion those aren’t a problem after you see how beautiful it is there. I hope I can return one day

This place was absolutely beautiful. The ladies that came and cooked for us were amazing. Food was amazing and so worth hiring them to cook for us. There really isnt anywhere to get food from around the area. Josue went and purchased the groceries for us and made sure that we had everything we needed. I cant wait to book this place again.

The house is very beautiful. A lovely design and filled with beautiful touches and artwork. An amazing view off the veranda, and the gardens are relaxing and full of birds. We all enjoyed the clean pool very much too. Overall it was an amazing place to relax and recharge. There is a walk up to the local village of Santa Clara or tuk tuks to take you up the hill, and the village has a produce market on Saturdays. We also recommend CECAP for great meals with the best view, as well as fair trade traditional handicrafts. It was easy to get a boat at the public dock. It’s probably easiest to arrange your own driver and boat to the private dock as then it’s easy to contact them if they do not turn up or know where to go (problems we had through no fault of the host). Definitely shop in Pana as the shops are very small in Santa Clara. Be aware it was hazy every day for 6 days and apparently this is common in April (or other months too?) because of cane burning. This home was incredible! Not only is the location fantastic - private, right on the lake, easy to drive to, walkable to San Marcos - but it is decorated, furnished and staffed to feel like a luxury getaway. I would recommend taking the staff up on the option to have a chef and massage therapist come during your stay. I cannot say enough good things about this place. It was the perfect getaway for our family and we look forward to returning.

Very clean, just like the photos, easy to get to, all my questions were answered, very quick to find, very close to the parks, excellent value for money

Awesome house. We really liked that every room had a bathroom. Pool was clean and good sized. Also great it had bathrooms and showers by the pool. About 10 minutes from IRTRA parks, it is also driving distance from Xela.

This is a one of a kind beautiful house. From the outside does not appear what’s inside. Nice place. Will definitely consider it for my next trip to Quetzaltenago. Get this place just to relax if you can.

The house is very good and convenient, location is nice and quiet, far from the center , 10 minutes by car to some main malls. the only problem we had is with a very sensitive neighbor that complained about noise few times even though we were very quiet and went to sleep very early. the host was very friendly and answered our needs quickly

Made a very last minute booking, José was very helpful . I have a 4x4 and the drive to the location is so fun! The home is bucolic and charming. The house is as shown in the photos, very central, super comfortable beds. As an observation for those who rent, if you have a low vehicle, the main parking lot is a bit complicated, but they offer solutions.

Casa Xelaju is a great place to stay while in Xela, be it for a short-term or long-term stay. I stayed for three weeks. The buildings and grounds are set off away from the main streets so are pretty quiet. The garden is bright with flowers. It is near to convenience stores, a market for buying fruits and veg, and the main square (all in Zone 1). I stayed in the house which was great (and big! - just as is shown in the pictures), but do know that there are also different types of smaller apartments and studios available to rent as well - all you need to do is contact them and ask. The staff were so friendly and attentive to anything that I needed during my stay. Guests have access to a washing machine and free, filtered drinking water. Highly recommended!

The house is very beautiful, very cozy, everything matched what they offered us, we had a great time and I will definitely return to that house, the host was very attentive from our arrival until our departure, she helped us a lot and we had a great time, the house was very clean, everything was well organized, we really liked the touches that the host had in the house when we arrived, that was very nice.
