Relax in a peaceful, natural environment, ideal for friends, families, wild swimmers, cyclists, paddle boarders, hikers and for cosy evenings by the fireplace. Separately charged are a luxurious hot tub, perfect after a hard days hike and a wood fired barrel sauna with cold shower. A tuck shop, art classes and treatments are also available.

Just a short stroll to cosy pubs for great food and drinks, all dog friendly. We offer part-week stays Nov–March (Fri–Mon or Mon–Fri), with Friday check-in's only from March–Nov. Waterside house is an ancient farmhouse which sits in a large garden surrounded by fields and woodland, it has belonged to the Finsthwaite estate since it was build in 1580 . Its historical character is shown in the large fireplace and the beams, which add to the charm. Waterside is known as the home of the “Finsthwaite Princess”. who was the alleged illegitimate daughter of Bonnie Prince Charlie. She lived in three rooms on the first floor which were panelled out of scotch pine for her.

Beautiful old miners cottage with stunning views over the lake towards Grizedale forest. The cottage is perfectly located, perched just above Coniston village at the foot of the mountain. It's a short stroll down the hill to the village, with its many amenities, and to the lake. Walks up the Old Man of Coniston begin from outside the house. There is a stone patio with table and chairs at the front of the cottage with amazing views over the lake, village and surrounding hills.
