Historically Gilleleje is an old fishing village and it was here that many Jews were transported to Sweden during World War II. Gilleleje Church was a waiting place for Jews until they could be transported. In 1943, 75 Jews were caught by the Gestapo on the church ceiling after a snitch had informed the Germans. Everywhere there are monuments of historical events. Every year there are various festivals in Gilleleje - "Hill" Festival, Harbour Festival, Jazz at the port and The Herring Day. We have a 2-minute walk to a fantastic view of Kullen, the harbor and the coast, as well as a 7-minute walk to the beach with a bridge, and thus ample opportunity for a morning dip! Follow the Lighthouse Trail towards the old Gilleleje, or in the opposite direction towards Nakkehoved Lighthouse, from where there is a breathtaking view. It is possible to borrow a men's and women's bicycle, with gears. Older models!

The house is located in beautiful, quiet natural surroundings down to Esrum River. From the house, there is a view of the garden, river and fields. Next to the house is the main house where there may sometimes be someone. The house is nice with a nice kitchen and bathroom and everything a house should have. 10 min walk from beautiful sandy beach. The house has, in addition to a large double bed for 2 people, a 140 cm box mattress on the loft. There is free access to kayaks, SUP, fire pit, bicycles and fishing rods. New WILDERNESS BATH and ICE BATH are available for a fee.
