Vacation rentals with a fireplace in The Catlins

A very comfortable, warm and modern home with all the amenities you could need. The ever changing view from every room out to the ocean was a sight to behold. We loved the novelty of the floor to ceiling tinted glass window in the showers that made you feel as if you were showering out too! If we ever return to Riverton we will definitely stay here again.

Really nice place to stay on a lovely island. Easy to cook our meals, great shower, comfortable beds and sofas, songbirds to enjoy, beautiful views and nature around, friendly hosts.

Had a great stay! Loved the outside patio, the high ceilings and how spacious the place was. Check in was a breeze and the host communicated well. I would absolutely stay here again 10/10!

Our stay was magical. The views are amazing, a beautiful and very quiet beach, a cozy fire and lots of good time in the sunroom with the kids. Having the car really made it easy to access the town and the different hikes. ah yeah... and did we mention the kiwis that visited us on our first morning just before the superb sunrise!!!!

Having spent 6 weeks travelling from Cape Regina in the North to Invercargill in the South and having stayed in 12 other accommodation situations, Carla and Ken’s little house was by far the best we’ve experienced. It was like a home away from home with all the comforts provided. The kitchen was fantastic, the beds were warm and comfortable and the shower was hot with plenty of water pressure. Would recommend staying over anywhere else if you’re visiting Invercargill. We wished we’d had more time there. Thank you Carla and Ken for 2 of the best nights R&R one could wish for. Stunning location and view, with everything you need!

Top location and walkable into Dunedin central and beyond. On street parking was accessible and easy to navigate. The property is fantastic and attention to detail in every respect. We felt comfortable to enjoy the property as the space has not been overwhelmed with unnecessary furniture. Honestly the best value accommodation. 100% recommend. It ‘sparked joy’ for our Dunedin stay☺️

The apartment was in a beautiful building and looked historical to me and exactly like the pictures. Fully Equipped kitchen, and I had the pleasure to use the new stove 😊. There are plenty of dishes, bowls, silverware and cookware. If you’re a Farmer market lover like me the apartment is 8 minutes’ walk to the market. The Octagon is 15 minutes (short legs😊). Chinese garden and Queens Garden are 5 minutes. My boys loved the private heated Jacuzzi it was on charming rooftop terrace with stunning city and hills views. The location is very quiet. Suzie the host was very caring and sweet. Thank you Suzie.💐

Great location, spotless modern spacious apartment, well equipped and provisioned kitchen, and we felt right at home. Easy walking access to Dunedin central sights. Car access is tight but doable for a medium sized car and a few flights of stairs (no lift) but these weren’t an issue for us. Host very responsive. Would stay again.

This bright flat is in a heritage building, centrally located to restaurants, the harbour and highway access. Bonus is indoor parking. The flat is well equipped and the hosts were helpful and responsive. Would recommend

Wow! Very impressed. Felt like home on arrival. Wonderful old building oozing charm. Exactly as described. Space to spread out. Kitchen had everything and more re appliances and coffee machine. Radio, heating, lights and even electric blankets on upon arrival. Extra touches were thoughtful and welcoming. Lots of options - games galore. Thank you A+++ host and accommodation.

Stuart & Robyn are friendly & accommodating hosts who came & welcomed us in person shortly after we checked in. They had some great tips about things to do, etc. The house & especially the views are absolutely stunning! Looking out at the water over breakfast at the outside table in back & enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sheep settle in for the night out front were highlights of our stay. This may have been our favorite stay in the whole 3 weeks we are in NZ. We really couldn’t ask for anything better than this!

Lovely stay in a beautiful spot. The home was a beautiful large villa with tall ceilings and lush furniture. It's a great location and easy to access to everything Riverton has to offer. The house is spacious and has a large bathroom, kitchen and garden. Great for family's and groups. The central heating system kept us cosy all night.

House is just as it seems in the photos! The views of the sunset from the conservatory are something else! Amazing sound system downstairs, so good my partner demand we get the same one at home lol the living room is beautiful!

Lynley’s place in Otautau is a hidden gem. The house is surrounded by gardens is very private and provides the perfect escape with plenty of seclusion. Otautau is less than a ten minute walk away and has a lovely little cafe 2 grocery stores and an excellent fish and chips shop. All of this is fabulous but it gets better because Lynley is a wam, friendly generous person who makes you feel right at home!

Margaret was incredibly accommodating and communicated well. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The house was clean and any issue was dealt with immediately. Thank you for a great stay!

There was only 2 of us rattling around in that huge house haha, but it was so homely. Alvin made us feel right at home straight away. We had the most relaxed time with everything we could think of needing. Thanks Alvin. I look forward to seeing the finishing touches on your treehouse. I definitely would pay to stay there!
