I had a wonderful stay at Tongdenlee Homestay! Although the kitchen wasn't available for guest use, the host made up for it by providing absolutely delicious, home-cooked meals that gave a true taste of the local cuisine. One of the highlights of my stay was how smoothly they arranged the Protected Area Permits—everything was handled efficiently and without any issues. The hospitality was warm and thoughtful throughout. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the region with ease and comfort!

I had a lovely stay at Sangdup's countryside homestay in the hills of Upper Dzongu. There are walkable trails and the surrounding is quite nice and peaceful. The altitude of the place is lower than that of Gangtok, so it's not as cold and high-altitude-exotic/stunning as some of the other North Sikkim tourist destinations, but I enjoyed the vibe of being in nature. Sangdup and his family are quite helpful and try to create a good experience for you. It's worth noting though that in order to reach the homestay you have to climb some 130 stairs. Everytime you need to go down for a car ride or for a hike you have to climb stairs.

we stayed at bichu s homestay which had a brilliant view of the himalayas from the balcony. host and his family were very welcoming and helpful. would definitely recommend for the amazing views and the home cooked meals

Loved it. Renzing and his family are soooo nice. Loved every bit of our time with them. Delicious home cooked food. And lovely home (this was one of the best homestays of my life). P.S. - The home is owned by Renzing. Sachin is an agent for them who handles Airbnb profile and takes a significant fee. I'd highly recommend contacting Renzing directly to get lower price and for other benefits (for both parties). His place is called RC Homestay and he says he has his own website.

Fabulous hosts. No heaters allowed in Lachen, so rooms were freezing. A low wattage bed warmer would have done the trick. The homeowners Tenzin & Dathup are beautiful people who are extremely polite and helpful. Tenzin’s cooking is spectacular (ensure you let it be known if you’re open to the local Tibetan cuisine), and they really went above and beyond to make my mother’s birthday a special one - Tenzin even made a local cake called “Phop phop”! If you’re ever in the Lachen valley this Homestay is a no brainier. Just try and book with them directly (G Search), and not through a third party. The person managing their airbnb listing (Karma) refused to engage with a perfectly valid refund request (after a member of our party cancelled) and I’m in fact still due some money back, with little hope of ever receiving it. But all in all a fabulous stay. Thanks Tenzin & Dathup, you made Sikkim even more memorable than it already is!

Apple Valley Cottage’s is a perfect stay for 2-3 adults per Cottage. There is a common dining area at the venue which serves delicious home kind food. Sushant, manager at Apple Valley was extremely supportive and caring. He took good care of us. The view from the cottages is spectacular. We had a wonderful 2 nights stay. We are thankful to Deep and Sushant for hosting us. We would love to be back soon at Apple Valley Cottage’s.

It was an amazing stay. Dorjee was extremely helpful, and kind. Stay was spacious, clean, and a great view from the gate (Lachung is awesome). I had some issues with my cab bookings, she helped a lot in arranging many things in the last minutes, helped us with few complimentary stuff that we were grateful for. Food in Cafe Lachung was also great in taste. We ordered Coffee, Pizza, and momos. All were superb. Cafe is adjacent to the AirBnB stay. Overall it was a great stay. Highly recommended.

The place was so homely and beautiful. The host is super friendly and makes sure that her guests are comfortable. Oh, and the food, definitely the best part. Dorjee herself cooks for her guests and makes you eat at her own dining area. The little girl kissi is the most cutest and adorable. Me and my husband tried their hot chocolate, mojito, pasta, and their home cooked meals, and not even a single thing about these felt out of place. You can ask for local recommendations too. I definitely recommend people visiting Lachung to book Deshar Abode hosted by Dorjee.
