Founded in 1957, my grandfather, Eiichi Tanuchi, ran an inn called Aiwasho for the cultural development of Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture. In order to continue to protect its history and traditions, his granddaughter, Kiushuko, reopened the inn under its original name in 2021. Built on the site of Ueno Castle, this inn is a traditional Japanese house with tatami mats on the floor. Please relax in one of the two Japanese-style rooms. The inn is located on a hill overlooking the city of Tanabe, so you can enjoy the morning sun, sunset, and night view. On a calm day, we recommend having tea in a wicker chair on the edge of the hinoki cypress wooden deck, which was made in the image of the moon viewing platform of the Katsura Imperial Villa. The newly installed bath and toilet are spacious and barrier-free, so you can bathe together or use them easily even if you need assistance. We installed popin.aladdin (lighting with projector) in one of the Japanese-style rooms. It projects on the sliding doors You can watch TV, music, movies, etc. Enjoy BGM on YouTube before you go out in the morning. My parents, Kisaku and Shuko Tanai (Japanese), live next to the house, so please let me know if you need anything.

Located in Totsugawa Village, Nara Prefecture, Wakayama and Mie prefectures are right next door, and it is close to tourist attractions such as the World Heritage Kumano Kodo, Rorikyo, Tamaki Shrine, and Kumano Hongu Taisha Shrine, as well as hot springs such as Yuguchi Onsen, Kawa Onsen, Yuno Mine Onsen, and Totsugawa Onsen. The entire space, which includes a loft with a staircase dance and a renovated basement of an old potato field, is also used as a place for artists to stay and create, depending on the period. You can enjoy nature and art with ONKAI, an outdoor sculpture by a German artist, a 2-3 minute walk away. Nanki Shirahama Inn (one group only)

The entire house is rented to only one group at a time (the price will be added depending on the number of people). It can accommodate up to 8 people in a 16-tatami mat (2 rooms with 8 tatami mats each) living room and bedroom and a 6-tatami mat bedroom. Fully equipped with a bath, toilet, washing machine, kitchen, and fridge. Face and bath towels are included. Free WiFi. The room is on the second floor, and it is difficult for the neighbors to hear sound, so it is a perfect house for families with small children or those who want to spend time quietly. The area around the house is quiet with little traffic and few pedestrians.

The Cottgae Kirihata is a one-bedroom house perfect for one or two guests for a relaxing stay. It is perfect as a base for a long road trip around Japan or the Kumano Kodo hiking. The owner has 15 years of experience as a wilderness guide in Hokkaido, experienced for trekking, fishing, canoeing and snowshoeing guide. I am currently enjoy outdoor activities in the Kii Peninsula in the green season and Hokkaido in the winter season. I am happy to coordinate and guide tours for guests.

Because it is limited to one pair per day. *We are renting out 4 easy-to-use bicycles for free for you to enjoy strolling in the area. *We prepared various guidebooks about the local area for you to enjoy. *3-minute walk from sushi house, There is the biggest shopping mall in Shingu. It is convenient to buy food etc.

Only 1 min. from the station. Cozy House in Kumano

1 minute walk from Shingu Station. 2 minutes from the bus stop. It is a Japanese-style house with a small Japanese courtyard. You can try on valuable samurai armor, helmets, and bridal gowns (kimono)for free. The house is reserved for a group of 3 or more people per day. Please relax as if you were at home. We usually accept up to 8 people, but we can accommodate up to 10 people on request. There is a convenience store in front of the house, which is very convenient.

Nostalgic Beach House A private guesthouse in Nigishima, Kumano City, facing the calm Nigishima Bay. To reach it, climb about 50 steps (5 min) for a rewarding view. *Note: not suitable for those with limited mobility. There is no TV or clock—disconnect and relax. *Extra fee applies for 2+ guests. For safety, a motion-sensor camera is at the entrance; it only takes still photos when someone passes, never continuous video, ensuring privacy.

"Genki House", a house near Kumano Hongu-Taisha

It’s a house 8km from the Hongu Taisha. (about 15 minutes' drive) If you have a car it's more convenient, but if not I'll be happy to drive you to and from a bus stop or a tourism spot in Hongu area. My family run an organic farm, bakery, NPO offering long-stay for the youth, and an alternative school for children nearby. You'll have some loaves of bread from our bakery(^^)/ （If you don't eat bread please let me know beforehand)

Kumano house

between kamikura shrain and hayatama shrain at the walk 10min. It takes 15min by walking from house to JR Shingu Station. There isn't anyone in the house. You can relax very much. Other things to note. This place has an official permission from local government and satisfied fire safety as a short term rental accommodation. Please note that we have legal obligation in Japan to request copy of passports.
