Vacation rentals with outdoor seating in Tailem Bend

Had the best time at the cute Cockatoo Cottage. We went during autumn, which is already beautiful as it is up in the hills, but adding some rain to the equation made everything just a little bit better. The cottage and its surroundings are fully immersed in nature, and you can always see and hear the birds chirping away as they go about their day. It is very clear that Kathy and Michel put a lot of thought and work into making Cockatoo Cottage the perfect nest among the hills, and we couldn't be more happy about staying there. Such an amazing experience, and would recommend to everyone!

What a lovely spot to enjoy a getaway with a significant other. Beautiful views and bird life. Dangle a fishing line or go kyiaking with the supplied equipment. Good kitchen and outdoor cooking amenities. There is no real need to leave the place during your stay. Windy days can be an issue cooking outside but the BBQ can be moved around to find cover. I would highly advise visiting outside of long weekends and school holidays to avoid the speedboat ruckus. That part can get a bit annoying, especially the boat drivers that love to plow the water and leave a huge wake behind them.

We loved our time at The Floathouse. It’s a stunning location, great little spot. Plenty to do, or plenty of comfy spots to laze around if you prefer. Communication was fantastic, from efficient check in information, to a lovely message ensuring we were settling In well and fast, helpful replies to sort any little bumps in the road. Thanks again guys!

I would recommend my friends to stay here, the place was just beautiful and the beds so comfortable. Sarah was a great host and communication was available if or when needed. Only problem I found was the driveway needed some work, the kitchen could have had a few more items such as bowls and things but worked with what we had. The fridge for 6 guest could have also been bigger. Fantastic location. Would definitely stay again. Thankyou so much Sarah

We’ve stayed here before. This long weekend was spectacular. We came here for a break, and oh boy did we make the most of it. The weather started out beautifully but turned on Saturday. We had plenty of games and books to keep us happily occupied. The peace and tranquillity was sublime. And incredibly it was not overly noisy in the marina . A wonderful long weekend break in a superb location.

What Julie's listing shares is wonderful and spot on. What she doesn't share is the amazing level of hospitality she provides. I won't list everything as that would spoil the surprise but it blew us away how generous she was... that, as well as wonderful gallery with some beautiful jewellery and artworks and an amazing bric-a-brac shop...both located at the other end of town. Another cool thing is that it is located central to all the Barossa Valley has to offer...and that is an awful lot. Thanks Julie... we'll be back.

House was as listed - could do with blinds in the dining area to help with privacy. Elizabeth as host was very accommodating - especially arranging for the replacement of the washing machine when the old one broke down. Great quiet location - already booked another stay!

Beautiful location. Very quiet area. Lovely dock to fish from. Our dog had a great time swimming !
