Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Swannanoa

This is one place we truly didn’t want to leave. It’s a magical place and we can’t wait to return! Louise and Steve are the perfect and kind hosts.

We loved our stay! It was quiet and in a lovely location. The house was super clean and we felt at home. It had everything we needed for our visit to the area and plenty of space to work remote too. There was a power outage when we arrived and for most of the evening and Jessica was very responsive. We enjoyed visiting some local places like cat cafes (Cats at Play Cafe & House of Black Cat Magic) and breweries (Whistle Hop, Turgua and Highland). I love to thrift and can recommend the Asheville Humane Thrift Store.

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for a few days. It’s a cozy home away from home that is comfortable and has pretty much everything you need to relax. The kitchen had everything that we needed so we didn’t feel any reason to go out for dinner. The host was absolutely amazing and we hope to return to this home in the future.

The Lucky Penny was a wonderfully pleasant surprise! The photos were charming and accurate and it surpassed our expectations. My friend and I were looking for a cozy girls getaway and the Lucky Penny fit the bill! The space was restored to it's period beauty which we appreciated. We made good use of the wood-burning fireplace. Richard and Carrie had been kind enough to leave enough firewood for us to do fires each night. They went above and beyond with special touches - a bottle of wine, snacks and super sweet cubbies to leave a note in your bottle for future guests. I enjoyed reading past occupants' experiences. The glassed in front porch was lovely for writing during a storm and the screened in back porch was perfect for hanging out with my friend! We were comfortable. I walk several miles a day, so I found the property walkable to downtown, but it is over a mile on busy roads (so it would depend on mobility and comfort with that). Overall, exceptional and we will be back!

We had a lovely stay - the place is so cute, clean, and has everything. I truly felt like I was going into a spa, it smelled clean and fresh plus had fun amenities. Would love to go back!

What an amazing place to settle down and unwind! Natalie’s response time with all of our questions was immediate and immaculate! We absolutely LOVED the location! We were so sad to go. The space was clean, smelled great, and we walked into the home with peaceful music. We are so glad that we got to experience what we want in our future. The most peaceful, private, and positively gloomy trip we have ever had and have ever wanted. The fire stove was a wonderful addition and was fun to use, as well as the sauna! We will definitely come back again, it was just everything we have ever wanted! Thank you Natalie! :)

This place was perfect! We felt so comfortable and relaxed. It smelled good, looked good and was really clean! The hot tub was easy to use and we took advantage each night the weather allowed. We didn’t want to leave and will absolutely stay again! Graham was very responsive and helpful. We had not a single thing we didn’t like or wished was different. If I could give it 100 stars I would. Oh yes, easy storage to unpack and “live” here for a week!

The accomodations are very comfortable and the location is quiet and peaceful plus being near to our activities. We enjoyed our stay.

Denise's place is very nice. It's located in a peaceful, wooded setting that is 4 minutes from downtown Black Mountain. The bed is comfortable and everything in the space is in great shape. The hot tub is very nice and has a view of the back yard and an adjacent wooded area. Denise and Jimmy are helpful and quick to respond to messages. We enjoyed our stay and hope to be able to rent again in the future.

Me and my friend visited for my birthday and this listing was perfect! The bed was amazing, the space was very nice and clean, and the location was perfect for our activities! Very quiet and comfortable :) My only regret was not coming while the garden was in bloom! Will definitely be back to stay again and see it in it’s full glory though.

Our family is always grateful to stay at Mary Ann's beautiful property! We've stayed here multiple times now and hope to continue to do so whenever our travels take us through the Asheville area. This property is truly a gem - peaceful, beautiful mountain view, a tree swing, lots of greenspace for the kiddos to run around outside after long car rides, comfortable big beds, a lovely bathroom, cozy living room and lots of much appreciated extras in the kitchen like KCups and creamers, pop tarts, waffles, water and juice. And if you ever need anything, Mary Ann is super responsive. It truly feels like a respite for us along long family trips, like getting to stop at a home away from home. We love this special place! Our stay at "Tranquility in the Mountains", was very tranquil. It was quite dark when we arrived Saturday morning. The driveway and entry were well lit. We entered the code on the keyless entry and were in with no problem! The unit was very tastefully decorated, fresh, and clean with a well stocked kitchen, bathroom and super comfy bed! All of the amenities of home. Kelly and family live above the unit, so we would hear movement at times, but this was never intrusive or a bother at all! I highly recommend booking with Kelly, and would like to visit the Asheville area again. I wish we had more time to chill in the mountains and explore this interesting city. Thanks for your hospitality Kelly. The welcome basket was a nice touch!

Exquisite furnishings, comfort and quality of linens and bedding. A wall of windows looking out to gorgeous forest and sunset views. Walking distance to Grovepark Inn providing exercise, shopping and dining accommodations within steps of the woodland basement apartment.The fireplace in winter and outdoor patio in summer are lovely. Bear sightings are assured! Owners are nearby if needed but non intrusive. Quiet location. Best Airbnb in all our travels and definitely best place in Asheville. Appreciated the full-sized refrigerator, dishwaher, microwave and toaster oven for light cooking.

Our stay at Hiker’s Hideawqy was perfect. The apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed for coffee in the morning, meal prep, and tea in the evening. It’s a great location too. I’m sure we will be back!

I did not interact with the host very often because it was a short stay, but she was responsive to the few inquiries I had. The house was within walking distance of the venue, Third Room, which made exploring Asheville fun and purposeful as we meandered to the event we were in town for. It was also close enough for an inexpensive Uber back. The home was functional and friendly for our brief visit. I will be visiting Asheville often. This will be near the top of the list if I need room for three or more.

Stayed in this lovely basement walkout apartment on a long cross country trip. The rental includes a good sized living area, vanity and make up mirror, bedroom, bath and deck with garden. The parking is in the rear giving easy access to the unit. The unit is newly renovated and tastefully decorated with an especially attractive bathroom. My daughter and I appreciated the robes and spa items as we had been traveling for quite a bit and this was so thoughtful and welcome. Someone mentioned inadequate night lighting in a review but this has been remedied in style. Had the best sleep in our whole cross country trip in a secure neighborhood that is very convenient to downtown and the Biltmore.

Our families stayed here for our niece’s wedding and had a wonderful time. We enjoyed all the amenities, there was plenty of space for everyone, and it’s conveniently close to downtown. Such a beautiful and unique place!

The Vineyard Villa is absolutely perfect for a 2-couples or 4 girlfriends getaway. Perfectly appointed villa, beautifully decorated, comfortable bedding and furniture, full kitchen with everything you need to make a meal, and 2 lovely full bathrooms. Beautiful outdoor seating area for enjoying the view of the vineyards. Secluded and oh so quiet! You have full privacy, but the owners are close by if you should ever need anything. Bring casual food, books and games, and buy wine at the vineyard and your perfect getaway awaits!! We will be back!!

Alex & Josh were great host! Communicated clear & easy check in and check out instructions and were check in with us throughout our stay. The cabin itself was beautiful and clean, it was stocked with everything we needed pretty much in the kitchen and bathrooms. There were little chocolates on all the beds when we arrived, there were all different types of towels, to bathe, pool towels even make up towels which was , little thoughtful details we appreciated. The location was really great! My boyfriend and I were able to do a bunch of hikes near by but also be close enough to enjoy the downtown Asheville area. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, would definitely return!

Highly recommend this place! We rented it for a bridal/bachelorette party weekend for five women, and it was marvelous! Early instructions about check in were informative. We lived in the hot tub. When there was an issue on Friday evening, we contacted the host who responded within the hour. Kitchen worked great for our personal French cooking lesson. We had a blast playing pool downstairs. And oh how the beds were comfortable, with great sheets to boot! Great views out the living room and kitchen to enjoy your morning coffee. What a great place!

I had an amazing stay at Casey’s place! The home was spotless, well-equipped, and exactly as described. The location was perfect—peaceful and scenic, with beautiful views of Lake Lure. The bed was super comfortable, and I appreciated the thoughtful decor and extra amenities. Casey was a fantastic host—quick to respond, friendly, and made check-in a breeze. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great stay in Lake Lure!

Clean with plenty of extra amenities. Great location next to the highway for easy access to different parts of town. Nice bedrooms and bathrooms. Definitely recommend and would return!
