The atrium of the main hall is made up of walls and ceilings that make use of the softness of exposed beams and pillars and cedar boards. Breakfast is served in the gazebo. She calls herself “the mountain witch of chikahagi.” Mom has been renovating this 150 year old minka (Japanese house) for the last 30 years. So many local people love this place.
