Kate and Johnny were perfect hosts. Let us be but always instantly available. They have lots of knowledge of the area. Very friendly and welcoming. We appreciated fresh bread, fruit and spreads for breakfast. Quiet and picturesque setting from our deck and in the spa looking down over the beach. Walkable distance into town albeit a steep but manageable path. Bed was super comfy. We weren’t doing activities in CBD but driving around all areas east. Thank you both. We will recommend.

Tom and Kat were amazing hosts! Great communication plus our arrival was seamless. Their property/house was absolutely stunning and was perfect for our stay. If we are ever in Christchurch again we will be staying here.

Shaun and Vanessa’s b&b was exactly what we were looking for. My fiancé and I were visiting from Australia and were staying in a new b&b every night for our week holiday. Shaun and Vanessa’s place was the perfect place to wind down and had the most incredible views we had seen since arriving in NZ. We were unable to experience the spa as we had booked the room quite late but the overall experience we had with Shaun upon arriving, the spotless room with a bed so warm we had to sleep with a window open to let in the night breeze and the breathtaking views, this will be a regular place that we stay at for our future visits to New Zealand. Shaun had also suggested that we take a mini road trip to Lake Tekapo. We stopped on the way and got to see snow for the very first time and experienced the Lake Tekapo hot springs which was the highlight of our trip. Thank you Shaun and Vanessa for an incredible experience and making this our must stay place when we visit your beautiful country again.

A beautiful house in a great spot, with everything you could need for an easy holiday. The pictures don’t do justice to how lovely the living/dining/kitchen is - spacious, well-equipped, beautiful timber and furnishings.  The bedrooms are configured in an unusual way that actually suited us perfectly - the master suite is up one flight of stairs, and the other two bedrooms are accessed by different stairs. The study with a mattress, if you need it, is on the ground floor. There was privacy and a separate bathroom for everyone! We had seen an earlier review mentioning that another property is very close to Philippa’s house. There is a small old (restored) bach that seems to open onto the same garden and deck area. We never saw anybody there and it did not affect our stay at all. This is the kind of home we would love to come back to! We travelled with a preschooler and baby.

Lovely place to stay, really nice hosts, especially valuable if you enjoy the outdoors, cyclists, walkers and skiers and more! Good amount of space, great to have such a lovely amount of greenery so close to transport, a supermarket and heaps of cheap eats too. Would definitely like to be back, hopefully more able to take advantage of the beautiful area. 2 minutes away from the river Avon, 25 min walk along that to central city.

Michael's property matched all descriptions perfectly. Communication had been great through check in all the way to check out. The property is located high up on Cashmere hills which unfortunately was out of scooter operating zone. You'll definitely need a car or Uber to get to the house. Overall, the property met our expectations and we had a comfortable stay.

I cannot recommend this place enough! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that we had found a gem. The property is absolutely stunning, with every amenity you could possibly need. Whether it was the cozy and beautifully decorated rooms, the fully equipped kitchen, or the outdoor spaces perfect for relaxing, everything was spotless and thoughtfully arranged. But what truly set this experience apart was Frances. She is hands down the best host we’ve ever had! From her warm welcome to her prompt and thoughtful communication, she made us feel right at home. Frances went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, even leaving personalized touches that made the trip extra special. If you’re considering booking this place, don’t hesitate—Frances and her beautiful property will exceed all your expectations.

The photos do not give this place justice what a stunning home!!!! So much space with different areas for kids to disappear when adults got boring! With 11 of us everyone got a bed! We used the garden and pond for professional family photos so we didn’t have to leave the property at all! Super warm home especially since it felt like the coldest weekend Christchurch could have! Thank you so much for allowing us to use your home for this very special occasion!! My entire family would recommend this home to anyone!!!

Cecile’s place is a perfect refuge and sanctuary. The views are intoxicating and change by the hour, the location is tranquil, calming, and in close proximity to the beach and city. Cecile was welcoming, helpful, and refreshing company. We are grateful for her hospitality, quality of care, and friendship. She is a fellow traveler, story teller, and adventurous spirit. A highly recommended haven for the short, or the long term.

We have just had the most incredible holiday staying at Anji’s place in Cass Bay. The location was so peaceful and serene. The house was perfect for our family of four (teenage children) and our doggie Morphy. It was the most relaxing and restorative holiday we’ve had as a family. Lots of sleeping in, reading books, playing board games, swimming in the bay, walking to Lyttelton, kayaking, BBQs and blissing out in the spa pool. Thank you so much Anji :)

A great place to stay, quiet, comfortable and warm. An excellent location ,in a lovely part of the City. We look forward to returning when we can. Suzanne is an excellent ,friendly host.

Beautiful spot in a very tranquil setting. The suite was perfect; lots of room, private and it had everything we needed and more. Without a car I wasn’t sure how easy this place would be to access but it was a short walk (uphill) from the bus stop. Loved our stay and how friendly, accommodating and helpful Jen was.

This was a perfect base for visiting our family in Christchurch. Grandchildren are great but it was good to escape to such a pleasant location and there was free use of the pool!

Beautiful, spacious home with peaceful surroundings. Clean and spotless. Highly recommended for family groups. We enjoyed using the pool which was well maintained. Wifi not great but we managed. Thank you allowing us to stay.

Amazing place. Beautiful inside and out (pool, patio dining, garden), modern, and immaculate. Everything was high quality from five star bedding to the well equipped kitchen. Hostess Jules was very responsive and friendly…The property sits in a nice neighborhood high above Christchurch, and our favorite part was on the other side (a short drive) - Taylor’s Mistake Beach and the world class walking trail above and past it. I don’t normally write reviews, but this place was really nice.

Beautiful little place to stay, we were sad to leave! Great amount of space for us, comfy and clean. Everything was provided that we needed for breakfast and more including delicious treats! Pool was also fabulous for a swim. Sue and Greg are fabulous hosts, super friendly. Will definitely recommend!

I can't thank Louise enough for our wonderful little homely and private cottage in the autumn trees, showering yellow leaves over the garden. Rose Cottage is just pure magic at this time of the year, especially if you are a keen photographer as l am: While it is close to the airport it isn't in the flight path so there's not that much aircraft noise, and it is close to supermarket, coffee shops, etc. Louise and Matthew are wonderful hosts and I highly recommend their property to anyone visiting Christchurch and wanting something just a slightly bit different :)

Sue & Greg's place was so relaxing after a long day of driving in the rain. The bed in the enclosed bedroom was so comfortable. We were grateful for food when we arrived and the homemade quiche, muffins, and rhubarb for breakfast. Breakfast also included toast, granola, yogurt, cereal, milk, fruit, tea, and coffee. I wish we could bring our kids and grandkids and swim/hot tub.

Had a very relaxing stay at this peaceful B n B set in wonderful surroundings..we felt like we were in rural France as it was very quaint and charming.We could have had a party in the bathroom..it was HUGE!
