Family-friendly vacation rentals in Summerfield

This is the second time that we have stayed with Donnie. The first time was in one of the cabooses. This time we stayed in The Depot. Both of these places were as described and pictured! I had good enough phone service that we did not miss having WiFi and there was cable for television. I had two children with me, an eight year old and a twelve year old, and they were both fine there! And we could look out the front door and see Buffalo Mountain. Because of Hurricane Helene damage, we did not get to go there but it was not for lack of trying! Sunday morning before we left, I got to see a deer in the pasture behind the depot! And some beautiful sunrises!

We wanted to do something unique & different for our anniversary & this did NOT disappoint. From the “main” road you can see the 3 red cabooses up on the hill & our hearts smiled. They recently had storms & we could see where the flood waters deteriorated the sides of the driveway but it was still wide enough for us to pass another small vehicle if needed. Office Check in was a breeze and took less than five mins before we were standing in our getaway train(caboose) which is on a real track! We were the only ones staying this weekend but if others were present, there was plenty of room. Our furbabies throughly enjoyed having a large field in front of the cabooses to run in. The views from the swings were breathtaking especially during the sunsets. Once Inside, we enjoyed the comforts of home (except for a stove). The hotness of the water & the relaxing hot tub added to our experience. Some things were dated but that is to come with the territory. We hope to visit again in the fall.

Beautiful location, place as described. Jacuzzi was great. Lots of hot water. Good water pressure, good shower. Bed was comfortable. Donnie was helpful and responsive.

Great place to stay in a wonderful neighborhood. Our group felt right at home with the many amenities, cleaniness, and spacious rooms. Host was very helpful & responsive! Would re-book if ever back in the area :)

This is a big House. It has one European style living room and traditional one. It is great. the House got everything. We have a team and everyone satisfied with this beautiful House. I think we will stay here if we have next year travel schedule. Farida is nice in communication.

Great stay! Whimsical and charming.

Location is great especially if you are a fan of the Andy Griffith show. The courthouse is just around the corner. Walk there. The house is clean and everything is well prepared for your visit. The host communicated everything and responded to our inquiries quickly and effectively.

We felt so at home as soon as we walked through the door. It was so cozy and homey, and pristinely clean. The street the house is on is wooded and peaceful, so it really felt like a perfect cabin getaway. Susan and Jeff were super responsive and even went out of their way to offer us an early check-in even though we didn’t even request it. Would absolutely stay here again, highly recommend!

From our first time walking in the front door we felt at home! Everything was clean and in good repair, the property was nice and relaxing and we made friends with a pair of Canadian Geese! Mike Harrison

Sam & Nicki were wonderful, my drive to NC took much longer than expected so I arrived late in the evening. They both were flexible and accommodating. The Shack was very comfortable, bedding, kitchen had everything you could need, great shower. Clean, quiet, peaceful and private. Fresh eggs and water along with new pillows provided with out request, eggs delicious! Woke up to be greeted by a friendly cow, pony and horse. I had to leave early my sister had a sudden heart attack and passed away, Sam and Nicki could not have been more kind. Told me to leave the shack without worry for cleaning it up, although I did my best in such a distraught state. They followed up to make sure I made it back safely and sent kind and comforting words and prayers. I hope I an able to one day revisit and would recommend a stay at the shack should u be in the area. Thank you for your hospitality, flexibility, fresh eggs, and understanding. Bless to have had the opportunity to spend time at the shack 💙🙏

The location and the house layout were perfect for our Thanksgiving with family. My brother and his family, and my family were very comfortable in the house. The kitchen was very well stocked with cookware and serving dishes. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked with nice bath towels. There were plenty of extra blankets if needed. We appreciated taking walks around the lovely neighborhood, and enjoyed the back porch (even in November). My wife even played the piano a bit. Thank you for sharing that heirloom.

House was great, pretty private, great pool. Lots of space for the family and there were snacks out for us which everyone really enjoyed. Had everything we needed for our stay. The only negative about the house was listed no pets. But there clearly were pets that lived there. Being highly allergic to animals with fur that probably would have not chosen that location. I needed to medicate the whole time. Other than that the home was what we needed.

Our stay was perfect! Host was very communicative, proactive and professional. We’ll definitely be staying again!

Our kids had a great time! Very private location with no ongoing traffic. They played in the front of the cabin all day with no worries from us about vehicles. Great spot to getaway and relax with outdoor activities (fishing, hiking, doing smores).

Great location! Loved the property and peacefulness of the River and tranquility of every view and fire pit.

If you're like us and dig deep into the reviews, we want to correct some misinformation. The shower is larger than the standard 32", and we took successive unhurried showers and didn't run out of hot water. The location is private and quiet. Real value for the money.

Laurie’s home holds so many memories for our family . We had a fabulous trip . Laurie’s home has all the comforts of home . We will stay there as often as we can .
