Tethera Nook - a beautifully crafted retreat

We had a lovely stay at Tethera Nook with our dog Luna! Emma and Craig were brilliant and it was lovely to see them working so hard on their gorgeous garden while we were there! It provided a lovely place to sit with a drink in the mornings! Their very friendly dog Capone always happy to come and say hello! It felt very private the whole week, walking distance to Kendal town, and we even hiked up to Scouts Scar which was recommended in the guide book (the views definitely did not disappoint). Tethera nook had everything we needed for our stay and with it being extremely hot the fan was an added bonus in keeping us and our dog cool! The eggs and veg that Emma leaves out is incredible and the little gifts of brownies, gin and jams on our arrival kept us going for the whole week! Everything was just perfect for our relaxing week away in the lakes, with close links to the rest of the national park! We would absolutely stay here again!

The Wheelhouse at Staveley Holiday Home with Sauna

We were a group of 6 adults and we had a wonderful time at the Wheelhouse. Every room was spotless and comfortable. The lounge was bigger than it looked in the pictures and accommodated us very well on the comfy sofas. The kitchen was modern and well equipped. Although next to the industrial estate we were not affected by any noise. Chris and Sue had left a book with restaurant recommendations and we had good food at the Eagle and Child and the Sun Inn. We didn’t use the sauna but it looked good. Maybe if we were to stay in colder weather we would have enjoyed it. We had very hot weather during our stay so the Eagle and Child pub garden alongside the river was a beautiful spot for dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to rebook. Thank you Chris and Sue.

Had a fantastic stay at Silver Cottage! Staveley is a great spot to stay whilst exploring the Lake District - it has good local cafes and food options as well as dog walks. The cottage was perfect, as described kitchen is on the smaller side but had everything we needed for 5 days. Margaret is a lovely host and who’s highly responsive and helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Lovely little spot in the Lake District. Close enough to the busy town of Windermere but in a lovely village allowing you to relax in peaceful surroundings. The house was spotlessly clean and was a great base for us to explore the area around Lake Windermere. The village itself is lovely with an amazing bakery and a great pub and fish and chip shop.

It was a great stay, great location and great host. Village is amazing, you get everything you need for short or long stay. Would recommend this if you are planning to visit Lake District as everything is within an hour drive or stay back and relax.

This was our second stay. The apartment is thoughtfully appointed to a high standard. The beds are comfortable, the shower is excellent and the kitchen has everything we need. There are beautiful walks from the door yet lots to explore further afield by bus and train. Staveley has lots to offer including a friendly village shop, coffee roasters and artisan bakery with cafe. It is obviously a thriving community and it shows in the way the village is cared for.
