Family-friendly vacation rentals in St. Lawrence County

We’ve stayed in Airbnb’s all over the world and this immediately became one of our favorites. Beautiful spot on the river, relaxing hot tub and everything was super clean. The place was very comfortable for our family. It was a rainy weekend, so we didn’t get to take full advantage of all the outdoor amenities but hope to come back at some point for pickleball and kayaking.

Great Lake front cabin with lots of amenities. Boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, hot tub- kept our family of five, including 3 teenagers occupied for days. Love the addition of the gas fire pit on the porch off the living room- started and ended every day out there, watching and listening to all the lake has to offer. Great trail running right from east shore drive. We loved it! We will be back!

I had a wonderful stay at Beth’s place! The space was clean, cozy, and had everything I needed for a comfortable visit. It felt like a true home away from home. Beth was a fantastic host—friendly, responsive, and thoughtful with all the little touches that made the stay even more enjoyable. The location was peaceful and conveniently located. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Erin's place was wonderful for our family of 12! We agree with the other reviews - the photos don't do it justice. It was clean and well-equipped. The only negative was that we arrived on a very hot and humid day, so we definitely very hot, with no AC. We brought some fans and did purchase some larger fans. The kitchen was perfect - we made most of our meals. We did go out one night and the Gran View and really like that suggestion. The paddle boards/kayaks and floats were so nice to not have to rent. The river is super calm before and after storms or in the mornings. We rented a pontoon boat from Wellsey Island, and it was dropped off at a nearby marina. We docked the boat on one side or the other of the dock, depending on the current or rough waters. We loved the quiet road for walks, and only a 25 minute drive to A-bay. The grill worked well. All in all, it was a great place!

We loved staying here! Craig gave us a great tour once we got in and was helpful anytime we had questions. This is a perfect spot on Trout Lake with all the lake toys you need! The house had everything we needed and was perfect for a small family get together. We had a great time and can't wait to come back next year.

Worth every penny paid! This place is amazing, especially the little cabana on the water! It’s where I slept while my husband stayed in the house in the kids! So peaceful 🥰 Host was a gem! Thoughtful host!

This is the third time we stayed at the Stone House. We love being right on the lake and hearing the loons call. Major renovations were made to the two bathrooms making them beautiful and fancy! 😜 The WiFi was great allowing me to work remotely and call into conference calls with no issues. Being able to go canoeing on the lake during lunch breaks was awesome!

Beautiful and private place with simple living and so much beauty! Entire family, kids and adults, loved the entire trip!

My friend and I made a one night stop here, the cabin is cute, rustic and cozy. The outdoor space is absolutely beautiful, right on the river. Jillian and Ray were a pleasure to communicate with. Also, bonus points for little Roxy (dog) great tour guide. We will absolutely be back and stay longer to be able to take in the scenery and get on the water.

Kimberly's home on the river is a peaceful respite from the daily grind. It truly makes you stop, slow down, and just enjoy being present in your surroundings. It allows you to relax and unwind with all the things necessary for day to day living. Her home has all the amenities necessary to cook meals, do laundry, play games, read books, etc. Kimberly is responsive to messages and replies quickly. My husband and I enjoyed our stay and thought the price for our stay for what was offered was absolutely reasonable. Kimberly has a gem here with this home.

The setting is awesome. The dock was great for the boat we rented as well as keeping our kyack’s there and fishing gear. Not really swimmable off the dock but deeper in the bay was great for swimming off the boat. Hosts were wonderful and responded to anything we needed. Would definitely go back. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We have been renting camps on Lake Bonaparte for the past 20 years and this place was definitely a favorite. The place was conveniently located, well stocked with items you might need for your stay and plenty of boat parking, which was important for us. Even though the weather didn’t cooperate for us, and it was cold and rainy, there was plenty to do in the camp to keep ourselves entertained. We would definitely rent here again.

We had a cousins’ reunion in late September at Michele’s house on the bay and it was a beautiful location and home for it. Plenty of room for 6 adults inside and out, very clean, peaceful and private. The sunset water views were outstanding and visible from all rooms including 2 of the 4 bedrooms. Michele was great to communicate with, being very proactive to ensure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay - she even had a generous amount of snacks and drinks stocked for us. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck, around the fire pit, cooking and barbecuing. We took a boat tour of the St. Lawrence and Boldt Castle and enjoyed trips to Alexandria Bay and Clayton. I highly recommend Michele’s place, it was a wonderful find. Thank you, Michele!

Graeme was a great host, and very responsive. Place was as advertised, and clearly their family home. It’s a beautiful house, in a perfect location for a SLU reunion weekend, walkable to everything. But worth being aware you are staying amongst their stuff, which is fine but sometimes catches you off guard after staying in dedicated rental houses / flats. Probably on the expensive side for being in Canton, but as advertised and a beautiful house in a great location with all of the amenities you would expect.

Steve has been terrific to work with our groups stay has been great. Steve made sure that we felt welcome and that we did not need for anything.

The Wanakena Guest Cottage is perfectly located on the Oswegachie River with beautiful views and easy access to the little town of Wanakena. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated, clean and spacious. The large kitchen windows allow glorious sunshine to fill the room making it a wonderful place for enjoying a meal or that morning cup of coffee, or take that coffee out to the large screened in front porch overlooking the water. Such a great place to play a game or working on a puzzle. The living room is filled with comfortable furniture allowing for conversation or choosing and watching a dvd from a nice collection. The bedrooms are comfortable for sleeping. I found the cottage to be very clean, with products made available to keep it so. Elaine and David are close by, but never intruding, always available for help or suggestions that they feel would make your stay more pleasant. The autumn scenery was gorgeous, and I am anxious to return and enjoy a summer visit.
