Farmstay vacation rentals in Southland

A true bed and breakfast in a sea of stale air bnbs! Sharon met me upon arrival and showed me to my private abode in the center of a working cherry (and other things!) farm. The fridge was stocked with eggs, milk, butter and bread, and there was a nespresso machine + a selection of teas. She also gave me a book of local wineries and their backgrounds which I greatly appreciated and used throughout my stay. Would stay here again if I’m ever back in the area!

Stu’s guesthouse was a lovely getaway in New Zealand! Close to Queenstown, ZQN airport, and to many outdoor activities. Very peaceful and private, soft linens, and felt right at home. It’s clear that this is not a cookie cutter Airbnb, but a real guesthouse, and it shows in the fit and finish of the property, and Stu’s helpful and kind approach to hosting. I would stay again in a heartbeat!

Clever design of a compact space with beautiful mountain views. A very relaxing retreat in rural surroundings and yet very convenient for Queenstown and Arrowtown attractions.

Amazing house, amazing hosts, cool animals which you can feed! Setting is absolutely stunning, close enough to Queenstown but remote enough to feel the serene landscape, amazing night sky's too. Hosts went above and beyond and did everything with a smile. Great spot!!

We had a fantastic time staying here. All the bedrooms were a great size and the open plan dining and lounge area was huge. The place was spotless and had a good range of kitchenware. The highlight for our daughters was Indy (super friendly dog) coming over to say hello and the sight of the merino sheep running across the field to get some snacks.

Cozzy place and absolutely funcional. Good air circulation, smart layout, useful kitchen and comfortable beds. Maggie is an amazing host, she gave us a warm welcome and all the recommendations for exploring the area. I 100% recommend staying there!

We cannot say enough good things about this fantastic Lavender Farm home. It is beautifully decorated, was spotlessly clean, incredibly well-equipped, the location was very handy and the grounds just lovely. We were impressed with how warm the house stayed overnight, even on very crisp mornings—the quality of build is imminently evident. Our family extended our stay as we couldn’t bear to leave, and we wish we could live there forever. Thank you as well to Jane for being a responsive host, and we highly rate this experience to future guests.

We had a great stays with Joan and Kevin, wonderful hospitality feel like home straightaway :) The house is modern and squeaky clean. Also, beautifully surroundings with the nature, wildlife and lake. We will definitely stay again next time :)

Secluded Yet So Close – Perfect Getaway! Our stay at Krissy’s place was absolutely wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful and relaxing place. The hot tub is amazing, and the personal touch of checking in to see if/when we wanted it lot every day was really kind. Whether it’s watching the stars by night or staring at the view by day, this is the perfect spot to do it from - comfortable and well-equipped.

Maria is an incredible host, communicative and helpful whilst giving us space. Her property was welcoming, warm, characterful and immaculate. My daughter and I had a wonderful, peaceful stay and deeply appreciated conversing with the animals and enjoying the outdoor space. We slept like logs with the logburner and extremely comfortable beds. This is the perfect place to slow down and breathe. Stunning views all around. We hope to return for another stay one day.

Aurelia's place was perfect, immaculate and tidy. The bed was so comfy and views were incredible. We loved sitting at the breakfast bar with the mountains right in front of us. Aurelia was so lovely, greeting us on arrival and giving us some suggestions on places to day. Highly highly recommend staying here!

Justine's place is a lovely, relaxing spot in a beautiful setting. It's a bit removed from restaurants and stores, so bring provisions. Justine is very helpful and responsive. After a day of hiking and sightseeing, it's a perfect place to relax in solitude, build a fire, and gaze out across the landscape

This is our first time to Queenstown and first Airbnb experience. We fell in love at first sight when browsing through Airbnb and it did not disappoint us. We had a wonderful time in Queenstown and this charm A-frame has made it even more special. The stunning panorama view overlooking Lake Wakatipu and town centre is breathtaking! The full autumn beauty adds on vibrant colours, we can literally stand on the deck enjoying the view from day to night. This is a very cozy place full of characters, and we are so glad we chose it over standard hotel. For those travel on foot, just bear in mind this is located on a steep hill, however it’s within a short walk to town center. But once you set your foot on the deck, you know it’s all worth it.

Nice, clean and welcoming home for our overnight stay! Close to town centre and good spot for travel to Milford Sound. Cindy was a friendly and helpful host. Would recommend.

We really enjoyed staying at Niagara Ridge Retreat. The house was comfortable, view was amazing, and we liked the location.

Our stay was great, we were a family of four adults and it suited us perfectly. The cottage was just as described and Jackie was a welcoming, friendly host. Everything was clean and tidy, and in great working order. The surroundings were peaceful and just a short drive from Cromwell itself. It was a great base from which to explore Arrowtown and Queenstown as well. Thank you for a lovely stay.
