Farmstay vacation rentals in Southern Province

Lovely, quiet, tranquil and beautiful place. Situated right next to a huge beautiful mangrove lagoon which is amazing for kayaking. A 10minute walk from the best beach I saw whilst in Sri Lanka, very wide, sandy and clean, 2ith very few people on it and just a few bars. The water here is wonderful, soft waves and great for swimming. Not great for kids to swim in as there isn't much shallow water. The vibe at the accommodation is super chilled and informal and we were made to feel extremely welcome and at home. We would most definitely come back here, one of the highlights of our trip for sure. .

Really cool place to stay. The view from the room is incredibely beautiful! It is little bit far from beach, but not so bad. The breakfast was really delicious and for a reasonoble price - not included. I really recommend to stay here, because the place and the room is so cool.

What a special place. We travelled with three young children and felt so at home here. It is one of the most beautiful patches of land I’ve ever seen in terms of wildlife and the immediate setting. It’s so wild and pretty and yet the staff keep everything pristine like the pool area etc. The food was wonderful too. The safari was excellent and even my 3.5 year old managed it and loved it! We booked a transfer onwards and the van was great with a really good baby seat for our 9 month old. We met Madu several times and he was so lovely, just a very special home environment but suitably high end enough too. Thank you Madu and Kristin!

My family had 5 nights in this delightful house which was a perfect antidote to 10 days of rushing around the island of Sri Lanka. It was so relaxing and greatly benefited from having private staff who dealt with everything we could possible have wanted. There is a private chef who went out of his way to prepare whatever we asked for, 3 meals a day if needed. He only charged us for the ingredients required to prepare those meals which included a range of seafoods (e.g. huge prawns and seer fish), fresh fruit and very tasty Sri Lankan main dishes and deserts - nothing was too much trouble and he should be justly proud of his cooking skills, some of the best meals we tasted on our trip. They happily took us out on the tuk-tuk to local shops and will arrange local tours but we were "toured out" by the time we got there. The pool is fantastic (and huge!) and the grounds are constantly maintained by "Uncle". I cannot say anything but positive things, but do bring the bug sprays!

The owner and his wife helped us with any questions, were always in touch. Good internet, fast, but there are restrictions on gigabytes, check with the owner before entering if you need it for work. Air conditioning greatly saves from the heat. The place is 7 minutes by scooter from the beach, quieter than the main streets, we like it.

Absolutely magical place. If you are a nature lover, this is a dream come true. Me and my husband stayed in Ganguli for 10 nights and we loved every second of it. Gonapinuwala is close enough to the beach and nearest bigger town - Hikkaduwa, but at the same time it is far enough to be in a calm place, away from other tourists. The garden that surrounds the house is natural, so it feels like living in a beautiful jungle, with monkeys jumping on the trees and endemic birds sitting on the branches (Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill visited us!). But you shouldn't worry, it never feels unsafe, we've never seen any dangerous animals or anything like that. Chandana and Krishna are unbelievably helpful and kind, they just made us feel like home. They are always ready to give advice or organize transport. I hope they will read it, so Chandana and Krishna, let me thank you again! You made our trip even more exceptional. You are the best!

Wir waren zu 5. in der Unterkunft von Sheeta und haben uns gleich wie zuhause gefühlt. Da Sheeta aus Europa ist, ist die Einrichtung und Sauberkeit das beste was wir in Sri Lanka erlebt haben. Die Unterkunft ist ein bisschen außerhalb. Man läuft ungefähr 40 Minuten bis ins Zentrum, oder bestellt sich entspannt für wenig Geld ein Pick Me (ungefähr 270 Rupie mit Tuktuk). Dafür hat man seine Ruhe und ist direkt am Djungle! 😁 Wir hatten eine geniale Zeit und ich würde es jederzeit wieder buchen. 💯 Danke für die schöne Zeit 🔥

We really enjoyed our time here, in fact the couple of times we went to the beach we soon headed back! We missed the peace and view! And the food was better! :) Such a treat to be so well looked after by Upul and Jagath, without them at all getting in the way. Lots of places in the garden to relax, lovely furniture, and great pool. Highly recommend!

Schöne, ruhige Unterkunft. Der Gastgeber ist super nett und hilfsbereit. Etwas außerhalb, aber mit Pickme kein Problem. Die Küche entspricht nicht europäischen Standards. Braucht man aber nicht, da Frühstück angeboten wird. Wir würden sowieso empfehlen Essen zu gehen. Es gibt in Galle und Umgebung unzählige Möglichkeiten. Geheimtipp: Koggalla Beach. Traumhaft schön und leer. Kein Risiko Touristen, aus einem Land das derzeit in Europa eher unbeliebt ist, über den Weg zu laufen.

A cozy nest in the heart of Hikaduwa! We were incredibly lucky to stay in this wonderful house! From the first moment we felt a warm welcome: our hosts greeted us with a smile, explained all the details of our stay and even left a small welcome kit with local coconuts - it was so sweet! Quiet, green neighborhood, yet only a 10 minute walk to the ocean. Special thanks to the beautiful pool, kids and adults had fun in it 24/7. Stylish interior with thoughtful design and all the amenities you need. The kitchen is equipped - we cooked with pleasure! Near the house is a garden with monkeys, peacocks, birds and other exotic animals. The hosts showed real care: they were quick to answer questions, and solved issues related to a comfortable stay. If you are looking for a place that combines homeliness, convenience and attention to detail, this is the perfect choice. Our recent family stay at the Barefoot Bungalow in Hikkaduwa was nothing short of wonderful. The house’s lovely layout provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our whole family, with several rooms accommodating us comfortably and ensuring privacy for everyone. The property itself is beautifully maintained, offering a good room with all the necessary amenities for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The serene and picturesque view added a special touch to our mornings and evenings, making it a perfect setting for family time. The chef did a good job of catering to our dining needs, it was the overall experience that truly made our stay memorable. The bungalow’s staff were incredibly helpful, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and that all our needs were met promptly. Their assistance and warm hospitality contributed greatly to the enjoyment of our stay. In summary, our time at the Barefoot Bungalow was excellent.

Огромная, зелёная, красивая территория, каждый день убирается выглядит потрясающе, настоящие джунгли с обезьянами на пальмах(к людям не подходят), с павлинами которые часто прилетали, пару раз на виллу заходил большой варан). Отличный бассейн, который тоже каждый день чистится, дети в восторге. Спальни тоже отличные, с хорошими матрасами, убирали через день, когда оставляли ключи. Очень трудящихся персонал виллы, всегда занят работой, что то убирает, что то чистит, подметает молодец. Всегда есть горячая вода, кондиционеры, всё работает отлично. На кухне есть всё самое необходимое, единственно не работает посудомойка. В стране был большой кризис, проблемы с газом, с бензином, с диз топливом, отключали каждый день электричество по 5-10 часов в день, но на вилле есть генератор и ты этого не замечаешь, хозяин дома всегда находил возможность купить и газ для кухни и дизель для генератора. Хозяин очень хороший, приветливый человек, всегда был на связи и при необходимости быстро решал возникающие вопросы, организовал трансфер с аэропорта и обратно, даже сделал нам подарок при выезде, чему мы крайне удивились, спасибо Вам за всё, обязательно вернёмся. Вилла находится достаточно далеко от моря, необходимо машина или байк. Мы брали авто на месяц и объехали все пляжи шри ланки, это было не забываемо, океан - сила. До скорых встреч.

Absolute paradise! This place had everything we were dreaming of and more. Beautiful surroundings, amazing pool, incredible beaches around, super nice and discreet staff and three adorable dogs, which is definitely a plus point to feel at home! CJ went out of her way to help us settle and feel comfortable, it was truly a memorable stay, thank you for everything!!

A great secluded villa with excellent cook (try the curries) and a very kind and helpful factotum. Great for 2 or 10 guests. Wild life everywhere- peacocks and pea hen, friendly dogs, cow to eat the grass, water buffalo and sun bathing lizard by sizeable pool. Bring alcohol and mixers and any other vital items for day 1. When planning my trip to the South Province of Sri Lanka I was looking for an authentic, calm, modern, clean and one of a kind accommodation. The BoBo's Cinnamon Estate Duwabedda met more then my expectations. I am still dreaming of the soft breeze, the shy smell of cinnamon, the peacocks who visited us before heading to the next lot (this time a rice field), the smooth awakening early in the morning (gentle prayers of the Buddhist monks from far away, early morning songs of the birds...), the lovely Ceylon tea, the host's topless tuk tuk that brought us to the sea side, Galle and other destinations, and so much more... Catrin and Bharatha were caring and loving hosts. They were present yet discreet. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Very nice place, great for relaxing. Sunset beers in the backyard was the best. Sudath was a legend, nice guy and great conversation. Highly recommend

WOW, This is the best accommodation we’ve ever stayed in. the moment the gates opened we was greeted by chandana, priyantha and malani. a much needed welcome after the long journey. A refreshment and cold towel, was given to us by malani. The villa itself made even more special by these three Amazing people. The gardens are just the most stunning scenery pure bliss, the sounds of the wildlife inside and the surroundings are just amazing. Priyantha attends every morning and evening to clean the pool and surrounding garden the month we went was when the leafs fell from the tree he worked tirelessly everyday am and pm to assure the lawns was clear “for the children to play” he also took us to hikkaduwa most evenings, we would what’s app him and he would come and collect us. Malani also worked tirelessly cleaning the villa everyday and on 3 occasions brining in breakfast for us. Chandana Went above and beyond we went on 3 excursions with him. One of the nicest people ever.

I spent 2 nights in this beautiful place with my big family of 13. We all had such a great time. Kids loved the pool and all the water activities they had. It is located only a few minutes from Galle Fort which gave us the opportunity to do sightseeing quite conveniently. Loved the simple Sri Lankan buffet breakfast we had on both days. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Have to mention Amarasiri, who gave us the best customer service throughout our stay. We will definitely visit this place next time we are in Australia. המקום הזה היה מדהים - מכל הבחינות! נתחיל מזה ש Chandana תמיד היה שם בשבילנו בכל מה שהיינו צריכים - באמת שלא דימיינו שהוא יהיה כל כך תומך ועוזר בכל מה שהיינו צריכים. הוא עזר לנו עם למצוא מקומות לנסוע אליהם, מחירים לטוקטוק ואפילו לקח אותנו איזה פעמיים לעיר פשוט כי הוא נחמד ואדיב. Chandana מעבר למארח ברמה מאוד גבוהה הפך להיות חבר ואם נחזור לסרי לנקה בוודאות נבוא לבקר אותו! המקום עצמו - מדהים. יש עליית גג פתוחה עם נוף ממש יפה, האיזור שקט - זה ממש כפר קטן כמה דקות מחוץ לעיר ומרגישים בג׳ונגל. יצא לנו לראות סנאים חמודים על העצים, לטאות מגניבות ואפילו קופים! שזה פשוט היה אדיר בעינינו. מעבר לעליית גג הענקית שיש למעלה הוילה עצמה נקייה, מעוצבת טוב, יש תאורה מעולה, מיטות נוחות, החדר רחצה גדול ונקי ופשוט בכללי הוילה מדהימה. לא פעם אחת או פעמיים אמא של צ׳נדנה הביאה לנו אוכל שהיא בישלה, שאם יוצא לכם לטעום ממנו אתם תרגישו מה זו אהבה של אמא דרך אוכל.. תודה צ׳נדנה על הכל!
