First off, Belinda is a fantastic host—extremely responsive and clear in her instructions. In addition to Belinda’s great hosting, there’s a housekeeper and a gardener who are both incredibly kind and maintain the house in top form. The house itself is very spacious and even more impressive than the photos suggest. It features three large indoor kitchen areas and an outdoor Braai. If you love cooking, this place is a dream come true! The pool is wonderful, though it does occasionally collect pollen and leaves from the neighbors’ trees. The house can comfortably accommodate six adults, but we stayed with just two adults and a baby for most of our stay. It’s located in a very quiet neighborhood, just a five-minute drive from Stellenbosch. There’s plenty to do nearby, offering the perfect balance of being close to Stellenbosch’s lively city center while still enjoying the peace and quiet. Definitely a place we would love to come back to!

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt in Rooi Els. Heide hat uns herzlichst empfangen und uns verschiedene Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten empfohlen. Die Lage des Hauses ist traumhaft und die Ausstattung hervorragend. Wir haben uns direkt zuhause gefühlt. Die Kommunikation war super einfach, schnell und freundlich. Ich kann einen Aufenthalt von Herzen empfehlen! Vielen Dank

Stunning location. Views to die for. Super well-equipped kitchen, everything and more. Comfortable and warm beds. Cozy fireplace and lovely outside sitting area. Showers are great, and it also has baths with views. We didn't try the hot tub, but it looks like a treat for colder weather. We will be back.

I am writing this review while we are still at the property. We have stayed in many AirBnB's, but never have we encountered a place as fascinating as Kloof House. Nestled into the trees, at the bottom of the mountains, is this haven of peace. Due to the way it is built we feel one with nature. The interior is thoughtfully dominated by wood and endless floor to ceiling glass, it is warm and intriguing. We constantly stop to gaze at the forest. It almost feels a bit like being part of Jurassic Park, just without the dinosaurs. Inside it is pure luxury, no expenses have been spared, top notch appliances and so generously stocked, incredibly beautiful and stylish furniture, insanely comfortable beds. The nature pool, large hot tub and braai area are a real treat. All of this coupled with the friendliness and immediate responsiveness of the hosts makes this getaway one we will never forget. Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit in Somerset West. Das Haus war ein Traum und wir haben uns sofort wie zuhause gefühlt. Alles ist sehr liebevoll und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Der Garten ist wunderschön bepflanzt. Die Kommunikation mit Brett und Ronel und auch die Informationen für das Haus war sehr einfach und nett. Sie waren immer erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit, egal welche Frage wir auch hatten. Wir werden definitiv wieder kommen und freuen uns jetzt schon sehr darauf!

Our internal flight was delayed which meant we arrived past the allowable check-in time. The host was thankfully flexible and waited for us to arrive in the early evening. The house is a little dated but the beds were so comfortable, the showers piping hot and the house well stocked. The location is stunning and the setting really helps for a peaceful vacation. Great space for our family to meet up over Christmas; we really loved it.

Wir hatten eine tolle Unterkunft in Südafrika als Ausgangspunkt für unsere Unternehmungen. Simon war ein toller Gastgeber, immer freundlich und gut zu erreichen. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber, gut ausgestattet und mit Blick auf das Wasser, was will man mehr. Auch Einkaufsmöglichkeiten für den täglichen Bedarf sind gleich um die Ecke. Daher können wir diese Wohnung nur empfehlen. Vielen Dank :)

We very much enjoyed Patsy’s place during our family stay in Somerset West, it was a home away from home for our family during our recent visit to the Western Cape. A charming house providing more than enough room for all 5 of us (incl. 3 adult children); with comfortable beds, a roomy living area and kitchen inside, and the lapa & swimming pool outside (where we spent a lot of time during the hot days!); nice and quiet location, no through traffic; a lovely garden surrounds the house. Patsy was very responsive to all of our queries and questions, and made sure that we were OK. We also met up with Bridget & Obert, 2 lovely people who also added to the welcoming feel. We will certainly consider this as a future holiday address … 😊

Tim is a very hospitable host, he met us at check in day, helped with luggage. There were fresh flowers at home, clean beds and towels, nice welcome drink. Tim advised several interesting spots. The house has a great view from bedroom and living area. Was a pleasure to wake up and see the ocean. Every day we walked to the beach (5 minutes literally). There are some coffee shops and restaurants. Very good locations of shops. Very safe area! A lot of people running and swimming. Beautiful nature, surrounded with mountains. It has gas and every time we could cook and make tea. Very good variety of things for cooking inside the house. Tim has a nice secret garden :) Tim is a very friendly and sporty person, he told us about sport opportunities around. Tim was easy to communicate every time we wrote him with questions, He also advised us a nice clean lady and looked about the garden himself. One of the best hospitable stayings.

Wonderful place, we wish we’d stay longer! Ideal for 3 couples. You get everything you can imagine for a perfect stay. But extra - very nice pool, we used even though it was a bit chilly. There are also few hot jacuzzi’s, but we did not find time for them. Beautiful gardens with local fauna. Unbelievable view on vineyards, we enjoyed both during sunset and sunrise. Host provides everything needed for grilling. Lots of recommendations from host on places to visit. Definitely recommend staying here!

We had a great stay at Deborah’s home. There was plenty of space for 3 adults and 2 children, and the lofted cinema was a huge hit with the kids. The home were spacious, clean, and well equipped for our stay in Stellenbosch. The neighborhood felt very safe and family-friendly. It’s a short 5 minute drive into the city center, and an easy drive to many great wineries and vineyards in the area. Deborah was responsive and highly accommodating - she let us store our luggage in the garage after we checked out, so we could go into town for lunch. I would highly recommend this property!

We had a wonderful 9-day stay in this lovely, clean, and homely property — but what truly stood out was the kindness and attentiveness of the hosts. They were incredibly responsive and went out of their way to help us feel at home during a difficult time for our family. The house was thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed, which meant we could focus on caring for Mum in hospital without any added stress around accommodation. We’re so grateful — thank you for creating such a welcoming space.

Anita is super vriendelijk. Het huis is mooi en van alle gemakken voorzien. Is schoon en opgeruimd. Maar er stond ook van alles klaar, zoals wijn, kaasplankje, melk, boter, brood en diverse dingen voor de kinderen. Je voelt je dan direct thuis. De locatie is perfect als je meer wil zien dan Franschoek alleen. De mooiste wineries, ook met kinderen, van stellenbosch, Paarl en Franschoek liggen op max 15 minuten rijden. Hoewel het zwembad niet verwarmd was hebben onze kinderen 3 dagen gezwommen in april. Je kan de hele dag zon hebben als je op de diverse terassen gaat zitten. Het ongeisoleerde rieten dak maakt het wel gevoellig voor buitengeluiden in de slaapkamers. Maar het huis staat in een rustige omgeving, dus dat was geen probleem.
