Had a really nice stay here on our last night in Iceland. I was very glad to find this place that would accommodate my family of 8 in this rural setting. Wanted to stay close to the national park, and there were not many options other than this. The place was better than I was expecting/pics led on. I was worried we would be cramped, but that was not the case. Other than one of the bedrooms, plenty of space. On that bedroom, I knew going in it would be tight based on pics. In spite of being a bit cramped, not a big deal. Slept fine in that room, and everyone in general slept fine. Main floor was roomier than i thought. Plenty of room in kitchen and other rooms for all. Kids loved the place. Not too far from murals and ocean. Only issue i had was no shampoo in the place. No idea if I knew that before and forgot or should have known it, but it surprised me. Not a big deal. I did not inquire about it either as I was in a hurry. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

This place is a wonderful, peaceful escape! It is a bit removed from things, but it was exactly what we were looking for. We saw the northern lights multiple times. Absolutely perfect!!

Hellnafell the BEST VIEW on Kirkjufell mountain

AllysonRating, 5 stars1 month ago
If you want pictures of Kirkufell this place truly can't be beat. We were blessed with a beautiful Aurora the first night. The rest of the peninsula had so many beautiful sites and places to explore. It felt remote yet was close to a quaint town with a great cafe and coffee shop that were actually open this time of year!

Vacation home for 4 people

Nienke & JeroenRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Great house with beautiful views of the snowy mountains. And it’s perfect to explore the surrounding landmarks. We’d love to take evening walks to the beach. And our children played hide and seek in the nature surrounding the house. Don’t expect a livid village. It’s small and the two cafe’s were closed during our stay in April/Easter. The house itself is cosy, with a relaxing couch, a sunny kitchen and nice terrace with some evening sun. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights from the bedroom window.

Glacier View House

JuliaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Thanks for a lovely stay. The children really enjoyed all the art materials and games and it is a really spacious house so very easy as a family or 5. The playground right outside is fun too - even though the pillow wasn’t inflated because it was either windy or icy! Great hot tub and well equipped place. A really interesting town and nice locals to chat to in the shop across the grass!

LOVE this house! We luckily encountered aurora burst and the house gave us the best view to every direction, sooo nice and lovely especially in a cold windy night that you don't feel like stepping out. We didn't meet the landlord in person but the?communication was very efficiecnt. would recommend this house with stunning view to everyone who comes to the pennisular of Snaefjall!

Freezer Apartments - Gotuhus: Ocean View Apartment

CamilleRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Comfortable and nice place, with a breathtaking view of the ocean. We stayed here one night when we entered the peninsula and loved this break by the water. We were able to cook there while listening to cds on the hifi channel available then we took advantage of the last rays of sunshine and the sunset on the terrace. Finally, we fell asleep, lulled by the sound of the waves. Also, thank you for the welcome basket!

Inga’s and Oli’s place is perfect. It is super clean and with wonderful decorations. We felt very comfortable and like home. The shower room is especially great (clean, dedicated layout, and warm). The house and kitchen are clean and very well equipped with stuff make us felt very much like home. We are very happy with our stay, and we felt very comfortable.

Snæfellsjökull Apartments

AlessandraRating, 5 stars5 days ago
the house, although surrounded by other homes, is in the middle of nowhere, almost on the beach and 10/15 minutes from downtown. it's beautiful to be surrounded only by the landscape and the sea, the light that enters the house is so much because of the many windows, we loved being here. the rooms have been recently renovated and the host also made us find some snacks upon arrival much appreciated by the children! i recommend this accommodation, especially to those like us who came here to do whale watching

Marta was a wonderful hostess. Very friendly. Invited us for coffee both mornings at her cafe. She showed us on a map of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula where to go, what to do, what to see, etc. She looked up restaurants and told us the hours they were open. She messaged our first night that there was an awesome Aurora out about 9:30 PM. Unfortunately we had just gone to bed and didn't get it until the next morning. (We were at the end of a long day following a night flight that arrived at 6 AM with little sleep on the plane.) She also told us there was a free Latin dance class that night at the community center within walking distance. We went and had a great time! The shower faucet was tricky at first until I figured out how it worked. (Right side controlled water temperature. Left side turned it on.) I'm used to right being cold and left being hot. All we did both nights was sleep. The beds were comfortable, and we slept well! Thank you, Marta, for your hospitality!
