A lovely central spot to stay in Calitzdorp. Hosts were very welcoming and provided info regarding open restaurants during our stay. Our Labrador got special treats and enjoyed the garden. The space is well equipped and we had everything we needed including electric blanket. Information regarding facilities was clearly provided in writing in the accommodation. Would definitely recommend the Karoo Nest to others

Jan and Karen are wonderful people. Friendly, welcoming and responsive. The house has everything you need and the location is superb. The surroundings area has plenty to entertain.

Tastefully decorated, like the pages of a decor magazine has sprung to life. Chic and contemporary meets Karoo. A treasure of a spot and can highly recommend a visit here. Zelma was very helpful with recommendations on where to dine etc. and let us know within 30min that we left something behind after checking out. The only place we will stay if visiting Calitzdorp again.

Petro was a gracious host and so lovely. She has the cutest 7 month old puppies, unfortunately they stayed behind the gate so we couldn't play with them :) The rural area has incredible WiFi and while the home was originally built in 1888, it's amenities are perfectly usable. The indoor fireplace was so cozy, the beds were very comfortable and there was solar when we had unexpected loadshedding! Definitely recommend to walk the 5km hike route, take some dry socks as we walked through a overflowing stream (so beautiful!). Highly recommend Die Tuinhuis in Calitzdorp for a delicious brekkie, too!

we loved it. here you really get down to gear, we enjoyed the view and the surroundings. fantastic nature wherever you look. the hosts were super friendly and helpful. we stayed two nights but would definitely recommend more nights so that you can really get all the impressions.

The best romantic and peaceful break away! The place was actually better than the photos! we took our dogs along and this was sò enjoyable. Absolutely no problems at all. The cottage is well 20min drive on gravel, but is do-able with a normal car. So secluded and quiet in the heart of the mountains. Only 2 cottages so it was very private... it felt like we owned our own piece of mountains! We swam in the nearby dams and hiked on the trails surrounding the area. Would definitely love to stay there again and again. We also thought of it as the best honeymoon venue that we have ever came across. Everything was breathtaking and was like we walked into a magazine!! definitely 11 out of 10!! 🙌
