Beautiful Portuguese farm cottage nº 32172/AL

Experience life in the Portuguese countryside in a traditional family owned Quinta! Perfect for families with children :) Location: Located in the center of the village Vale, Arcos de Valdevez just across the street from the church, the whole property has more than 6 hectares, it’s located in one of the most famous wine regions (vinho verde) in the country and it offers the insights of traditional farming in Northern Portugal. Description: Your home is a cottage with 2 bedrooms, 1 living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a double bed and the other has a bunk bed. In the living room there is an expandable sofa bed. The kitchen is fully equipped to make you feel like home and the bathroom has a shower with hot water. We try to arrange the privacy and comfort of modern home in a rustic environment. Activities: In this Quinta (Portuguese farm) you can admire the great view of the whole valley, take a nice walk (1 km) to a small waterfall and natural swimming pool, enjoy some quality time with the pigs, sheep or ducks on the property or taste the home made jams, smoked meat or liquors produced by the owner. For the nature lovers this is the place to start a hike in Peneda-Geres National Park and there is a local company that organizes tours and canoe rides. Getting around I you arrive by car, free parking is available on site. Closest city is Arcos de Valdevez (8 km away). It is well connected by bus with Porto, Lisbon, Braga and there is a direct bus from Porto airport. From Arcos to Vale there is a local bus service twice a day and taxi is available for around 10 euros. Pick up can be arranged for a fee, if agreed beforehand.

The bedroom on the first floor has a double bed, a bathroom en suite and a seating area. The living area on the ground floor features a sofa, a flat-screen cable TV and a dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a separate WC on the ground floor. You can enjoy a little private garden. Restaurants, coffees and shopping are a few steps away. You walk to the next beach within 15 minutes or can take the ferry boat to the other side to „Cabedelo Beach“

Modern country house with large garden and animal backyard ideal for a break from the city movement. The coldest days invite to a evening by the fireplace where you can get cosy and watch the fire dance as the wood burns. It is a quiet place with a good neighborhood. The historic center of Viana do Castelo is a 10 minutes drive as well as several beaches such as Cabedelo beach, where you can practice various water sports such as surfing, windsurfing or paddle. Gui was the best host you could have. From the very first minute, we felt right at home. The place is idyllic: the river, the birds, the flowers... The house has everything you need to have a relaxing and private stay. Our dogs have enjoyed the freedom of endless fields to explore. Gui's willingness to help with any need has been absolute at all times, he is a real gem. We left with a full heart and an immense desire to return.

On the positive side, the place lived up to its description. Fatima was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience better. There were enough parking spaces for three cars. On the negative side, the hot water reservoir wasn't sufficient for ten people to take showers. As a result, some of us had to take cold showers every day. Additionally, the location is situated on narrow roads, making it challenging to reach by car.

The accommodation was very spacious and there was ample space to unfold. The ambience is rather functional and not particularly homely but we lacked nothing. You are privately accommodated there, but also anonymous. You won't be making contacts there. The kitchen is well equipped and the washing machine washes well. The wifi router is located in the property and the internet is fast. I particularly liked the large sliding wall with which you can protect the living area from the sun. The proximity to the beach is unbeatable, with the gastronomy in the area offering little change. Shopping facilities are a 15-20 min walk. After all, you have a vacation and plenty of time. We felt comfortable and the place was absolutely worth its money. Thank you

Peace and silence are predominant, excellent for walking tours, reading, photographs, etc. In addition, we had the opportunity to interact with the very friendly and kind locals allowing us to participate with the children in their tasks with the animals. In short, this space is an excellent choice for those looking for a simple but welcoming environment. The accommodation is exactly what it advertises. A quiet place to relax and spend a few days in nature. Liliana is a very friendly host who welcomed us on time and with a gift. To get to restaurants or shopping, a car is a must, but the distance is not too much. Liliana gave us directions on it. This is an old house renovated so you will find that some furniture is old and other modern but all functional. The cleanliness was excellent. I only tried one bed and it was so comfortable. The pool and nature do the rest.
