Apartment in the "Sassi" with idro and private spa

I have been staying in AirBnBs since they launched, and this may be the most beautiful home I’ve had the pleasure to rent. Modern and comfortable, and the spa is truly one-of-a-kind. We stayed two nights and I’d recommend a third, to have time for a bigger hike to visit the caves, try more restaurants, and luxuriate in the spa. The town outside the old city is also quite lovely.

Although in general terms the apartment is very good, the toilet is very poorly located with respect to the sink, so it is difficult to sit and urinate/defecate comfortably. On the other hand, it doesn't have WiFi, that's clarified in the listing but we overlooked it. However, Francesco was very kind and got us a wifi access code as we needed a connection for work purposes. The location is perfect for getting to know Matera. Regards!

we really enjoyed ourselves, the structure was impeccable, the owners made us feel immediately at ease and everything was super clean. Then it's not every day that you have an immersive experience inside a cave and sleep isolated from everything else. Quiet and secluded, really great. Thank you ♥️

Prospero is really a super host! Very kind and ready to give useful directions for visiting the city and getting around. He welcomed us personally and accompanied us to the stop on the day of our departure. The house is located outside the center but close, in a convenient location for walking. The area is quiet and we enjoyed the outdoor gazebo with deck chairs and coffee table. The spaces are exactly as shown in the photos. We didn't use the kitchen except to make coffee and heat water for breakfast. Although very small, it seemed well-equipped. Everything was clean and prepared with great care.

A spacious hot tub is filled with water that features soothing blue lighting, creating a calming ambiance. Reflections can be seen in the nearby mirror, highlighting the tub's sleek design. A decorative arrangement of sunflowers adds a touch of nature to the serene setting.

We had a great time, Raf was very helpful and kind . We arrived on a day of water emergency for a rupture of a pipe of the aqueduct, but Raf informed us in time and gave us all the useful directions to deal with the emergency, then as soon as it was restored everything immediately went to activate the amenities of the accommodation. Everything wonderful! Very good and friendly communication. Free parking nearby. Accommodation very clean, with many extras such as coffee, milk, yogurt, etc. Everything within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay and would come back anytime.

This place is truly amazing. We did not realize the extent of the history of the area and of the apartment. We are actually staying in a cave that probably how is the people over 1000 years ago. The Work put in to renovating this place and giving it all the modern conveniences while preserving so much of the history is tremendous. The amenities are top-notch. The shower, of course with our favorite out of six stops in southern Italy. My only complaint and this is of no fault of our host, is that Parking can be a big challenge. You cannot drive your car to the apartment as it is a restricted zone. And once you are parked, you have to get your baggage to the apartment and that involves lots and lots of stairs. But again, that’s the price you pay for staying in such a unique environment. We can 100% recommend this apartment.

roberto's welcome was perfect , the apartment was beautiful and in a strategic and evocative location. Roberto was kind and attentive, also providing us with excellent advice that made our stay even more beautiful . highly recommended.

I strongly recommend this location, the house is really amazing and our host is absolutely amazing. she is really answering the slightest question and even bothered to come at 10pm to see us when we had a water issue. the garden and the terrasses are really amazing. don't hesitate book it, it is great !

Mrs. Lorella was an exceptional person and always available. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to meet you in person and we had to do the selfcheck in which it was very easy as she always provided us with directions through photos and videos to implement it. The house matches the photos and amenities provided: cozy, clean and super fragrant with an ambient scent for each room that made each one different. It is very close to the center of Matera and the limits of the ZTL. In addition, if you want to move to Puglia as Alberobello, Locorotondo, it is located at a convenient height for these nearby trips. I'll definitely be back here.

This is a great place to explore Matera from. It's clean, quiet and comfortable, and close to restaurants and of course the sassi. Valeria is a great host. She has everything you could possibly need available. She is also extremely responsive. When we had trouble with the front door (which was our own fault), it was resolved in minutes. Will definitely stay here again!

Casa San Martino: We were very well received by Francesco and Florinda (F&F) and before even by phone Francesco was very thorough on some of our questions. The "little house" is very welcoming and characteristic as well as comfortable and furnished with all the comforts!!!! The location is in the historic center and for parking we had a permit for the ZTL. A few steps away, there are several services; in particular, the La Cavallerizza place where we had the breakfast kindly offered by F&F. The location is strategic for those who plan to move to the different neighboring towns: Marina di Ginosa, Matera, Alberobello ... Recommended for families and young people !!!!

What a beautiful and interesting place to stay. We enjoyed staying here as it’s just outside the high tourist sections but with easy short walk to get there. It was quiet and the view from the balcony were amazing! Giancarlo was very nice during the check in process and Rosalba made wonderful dining recommendations. Def try the restaurant below the apartment!

This is an excellent property with well appointed kitchen and laundry. It was spacious and we enjoyed our stay. The garage was a welcome addition, despite available street parking. The keyless internet entry worked very well (but does require your phone to have data).
