Matera is an amazing place with interesting history. Paola’s home is in the historic part of the city and would be difficult to find if it wasn’t for Paola’s clear instructions. The home is beautiful, well equipped, and close to churches, places of interest and restaurants, yet private and quiet. There was some music from a nearby venue on Saturday night however it was a long weekend, the music finished by midnight and it didn’t disturb our sleep. Paola was very helpful and responsive, and provided us with local recommendations. We would highly recommend Paola’s home.

We had an amazing time in Matera. Romano Prospero and his wife met us very hospitable and gave advice on what to see and where to eat. The bathroom was like a beauty salon, that's everything a woman needs and we were impressed. The kitchen was also equipped with everything you need. Walking distance to city center and bus stop.

A scenic terrace features a small table set for two, with colorful dishes placed neatly on a patterned tablecloth. In the background, expansive views of rolling hills and the historic town structure are visible under a clear blue sky, providing a serene outdoor space.

This was such a luxury. This cave house was just as described. It was the best shower, the best sleep, the best comfort I have had in my long tour of Italy. Daniella, the host, was so responsive and accomodating, making sure we had everything we needed. I'd recommend this space to anyone I know. If we are fortunate enough to visit this magical city again, this is the home I would choose.

It is an unforgettable experience to stay in Matera. Tudor is passionate about the town and his energy towards living there is contagious. Staying in an abode the has a large part of it carved out of the valley wall 7,000 years ago keeps your imagination spinning. There is a lot to do and you will get in many steps. We took a walking tour with just our small four person group and it was totally worth it. There are amazing museums there also. You must go and stay a Tudor’s place!

Cosimina's place is just perfect and she was very proactive, responsive over messages and nice to meet in general. I found her house to be very conveniently located right in the middle of the old town in Matera and yet just a 2 min walk from restaurants and city market. It was very quiet around her place and one can simply step out of the house to experience life as it must have been in ancient times in Sassi di Matera. Cosimina's place is also quite spacious - with two levels and 2 full-fledged bathrooms, it can easily accommodate 2 -3 people. It was very clean, well-organized, and with a fully equipped kitchen and high-speed internet. I highly recommend this property to Matera visitors! Cheers!

Wonderful experience! Apartment was well appointed, host provided wonderful snacks and anything you might have forgotten at home! You are in the center of everything and he has great recommendations for where to go and places to eat. You have a beautiful view from the balcony of Sassi. He was very helpful with parking since we had our car, it was included in the stay, as well as breakfast in a cafe around the corner. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks for everything!

Great communication with Roberto, he even came to pick me up from the busstation because it was too far to walk, certainly in the rain. Casa Farella is located in the hustle and bustle of the old city and I stayed in the blue apartment with a 70’s vibe and a lovely balcony with a great view of the Cathedral. There is also a beautiful rooftop terrace. My favorite food places in the neighborhood: the Santa Caterina bakery with the oldest oven, is definitely worth a visit: try the bread and other goodies. And trattoria Pein Assutt, which serves tasty local food for a great (= cheap) price. All in all Casa Farella is an absolute recommendation and Roberto: thank you for hospitality

Petra’s place was fabulous and Petra is a welcoming host who makes you feel at home. From her gentle and caring welcome when you arrive to her authentic best wishes when you leave she is the consummate host. Petra guided us to an amazing local restaurant and the breakfast vouchers provided opened us to a world of delicious traditional food. This was one of the best Airbnb experiences. The apartment is furnished with so much love for detail and therefore simply beautiful. We found the bed incredibly comfortable. Unfortunately we did not have the best weather, but I can very well imagine that it can also be eaten very well on the balcony. Don't hesitate and book this place if you want a nice and comfortable stay in Matera 😊

Linda's place was amazing - it has the most 'personality' of any Air B&B that I have stayed in. As soon as we sent our friends some photos - they were all saying "wow"... I really appreciated Linda giving me some handy hints on where to park our hire car and was glad when she helped me work out how to get her to her place. The mistake we made was relying on the maps link which was not accurate. I know understand that Maps are hard to use in places that are as steep as Matera. Matera was so quiet just before Christmas that we were concerned that nothing was open for dinner. This was our mistake - once 7:30/ 8pm hit, there were many amazing places to eat at. We have recommended Linda's place to some of our friends who now kow about Matera as it is not a usual place on the tourist map for a lot of Aussies doing their whirlwind trips to the other side of the world!

Very nice and clean apartment. The village in which it is located is alive but quiet. Communication with Grazia was very helpful and friendly. The location is optimal for visiting Matera.

the location is the highlight of the very central accommodation in Matera, from there you can easily reach all the points of interest. The innkeeper is always ready to respond to requests. The only thing is the lack of a bidet, but in a house in the historic center it is also understandable.

I loved staying at this place. The place is decorated and has amazing furniture (I love the atmosphere that all the lamps give), it shows that the details have been taken care of. Patrizia gave me perfect directions on how to get there, and although you have to go down some stairs, you soon realize that there are few by Matera standards. The view it has is unparalleled and the ease with which you can reach the different points of the historic city made it easy for me to get to know Matera thoroughly. There were many things to have for breakfast or a snack, something that is much appreciated. Patrizia's place contributed greatly to how much I enjoyed Matera

This place is an absolute gem. Highly recommended. The architecture, the furnishing, the quality of the linens, the privacy, very clean and a perfectly idyllic Idaho for those seeking a classic Italian accommodation in Puglia. We stayed with 2 parents, 2 kids, and it was heaven. We will definitely return! Thank you to the hosts for being responsive and offering a pre-arrival local wine menu to choose from (at an extra fee) - lovely to have local wines available upon arrival!

This place is spotless, very secure. It was fun having the outdoor grill/pizza oven and the small pool. It is kind of hidden. Francesco meets you on the street above the property in his car and leads you to it. I was a bit nervous following him off the beaten path. It is in an area which is redeveloping and seemed sketchy. He was very welcoming and attentive. The property is completely safe and secure and I would not hesitate to come again. He even came at 4 am to check us out for an early flight. Francesco works very hard to make sure you have an enjoyable time.

We loved living in a trullo for four days and highly appreciated the privacy and beauty of the property. October gave us perfect weather for relaxing in the sun and enjoying the pool. We were thankful to be allowed to stay by the pool a couple hours after checking out. During our stay we found a neighbour's cat to be rather intruding (perhaps other guests feed it), and a dog turned up by the pool one day. Exept for that, it was wonderful to live four days in the rural setting of Trullo Mario.
