Family-friendly vacation rentals in Sao Roque

Our stay at this charming farm in Ribeira Grande was such a memorable experience. The property itself had so much character, with a peaceful and authentic atmosphere that made us feel right at home. What truly set this stay apart was the warmth and generosity of the host, who welcomed us with homemade guava drink, bolo lêvedo, and delicious jams, such a thoughtful way to share the flavors of the Azores. Every corner of the farm felt special, with a perfect mix of rustic charm and comfort. It was the kind of place that invites you to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of nature and good company. We only stayed for two days, but it was enough to leave a lasting impression. We would absolutely love to return and experience it all again!

We visited Ruben for 10 days. We couldn't have imagined a better place to stay for our stay. Unfortunately, we had some bad luck with the weather - all the nicer was to enjoy the amenities of the pool and sauna. The apartment was spotlessly clean and everything was top prepared. Ruben even provided us with a welcome basket with all the necessary things ( cheese , bread , fruits etc) from the region:) If we should come back to the Azores, we'll definitely go back there. My family and I stayed for a week, they left and then friends joined me for a week - so 2 weeks in all. The pool was cool (it was january) but some did try. The hot tub was fabulous and was enjoyed by everyone. The house is spacious and perfectly clean and tidy with good supplies. The owners and the cleaning service were very helpful and responsive to any messages which was appreciated. The island is wonderful and we loved everywhere we visited.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Airbnb, it was perfect for our layover in Ponta Delgada. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Communication with Victor was excellent, from booking to checkout. The place is enchanting and modern. The recreation factor was high, including the quiet location, the excellent bed, the paved, framed property and the outdoor bathtub. We regularly got new towels. During our stay, the ceiling air conditioning in the bedroom was broken, but was helped with a mobile unit. We were positively surprised that we had privacy despite the glass facade. All in all: a worsening holiday in this house and with Victor. Thank you!!

We very much enjoyed our stay. Our group of 5 liked the ability to spread out a bit on this 3 bedroom house, and the 2 bathrooms minimized the congestion getting ready in the morning. We liked the private parking inside the property, but since we had a rental that was a little larger and without the greatest turning ratio, we opted to just park on the street rather than negotiate with the driveway. We always found a spot in front of the church next door. Totally equipped kitchen and proximity to supermarkets gave us a break from eating out all the time and a chance to enjoy the property's great backyard. Carla was very helpful, easy going, and the house was spotless. The area is not in the heart of any action, but still only a few minutes drive away from anything, and it was fine by us (in fact, we preferred it). There is a convenient little market literally under the second floor great for essentials. Amazing place, and we were grateful for Carla for the opportunity to stay in it.

Very clean, spacious and comfortable, with friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful surroundings right next to the lake. Don't forget to visit the baby goats!

Fabulous stay! We felt like we were in an authentic Portuguese home. We used the fireplace a lot. Very nice to keep the chill away. The sound of the waves and pounding surf was heavenly. Max was an amazing host. His welcome snacks and special deliveries were appreciated and very welcome. The place is spotless. The kitchen well equipped. Great location for us to get anywhere on the island. Hopefully we can return another time and use the pool which is beautiful. My sons did do a quick dip. Brrrr. A great place for a family trip.

OMG. This is a RARE find on the AirBnB spectrum. The location is top notch (scenic, private, walkable, gorgeous), Eleni’s hospitality was exceptional (tons of food in fridge + homemade chocolate cake, super friendly, great tips, lots of extra perks like having a massage arranged in house) and the space was fabulous with all the amenities you would need. One of the best Airbnbs I’ve ever stayed at — and I’ve been traveling a lot for a long time. An extremely clean and cozy little house next to a larger one. It has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay — tea, coffee, a coffee machine, and a lovely surprise from the hosts with local products, cheeses, milk, cookies for the kids, and juice. It’s amazing that there’s also a barbecue area with charcoal and firewood — especially since the Azores are famous for their beef. The hosts are very friendly, and there’s also a wonderful cat! The view of the ocean is absolutely stunning. I dream of coming back to this place. Thank you so much for the warm hospitality!

The room and location were above and beyond our expectations. The grounds and view were stunning, only made better by the incredible hosting by Fatima. We are looking forward to returning many times!

As older family members we couldn't be happier. Sven is a welcoming host and easy to approach. Nothing was out of his purview. The home is warm, clean and complete, but mostly the view is beyond expectations. The location is central to all on the island and we felt at home. Happy to stay in as well as explore. Sven's restaurant list was a plus as well as all things covered on his "list". I definitely expect to return and would hope to stay at Casa de Ilheu.

The pictures do not do this place justice. Absolutely stunning views !!! We also loved the walk to the tide pools. We stayed for a week with our four year old and parents, we had everything we needed. Antonio is so friendly and helpful, if we ever get to come back to Sao Miguel, we will stay here again ❤️❤️ Thank you for a wonderful time !!

Alex’s place is centrally located. The apartment is spacious and very clean. The bathroom is big. Alex is very friendly and communicative. Obrigado Alex !

Very nice local house, has everything necessary inside. Host was very friendly and gave lots of local recommendations. House is located in quite neighbourhood with some beautiful views. Perfect if you travel by car, because makes good staring point to explore eastern part of the island.

We had an amazing stay at Casa do Monte, the cottage has a beautiful view and everything you need. The location can’t be beat, it is close enough to pop into Ponta Delgada whenever you want, but everything is also available in Capelas just down the road. Maria was a great host and responded promptly whenever we needed anything. 10/10.

Lovely apartment conveniently located to the highway, supermarkets and most of the island. Pedro was a responsive host when we had a few questions. Everything was clean. I recommend staying there.

We started our holiday at this beautiful island in the city of Ponta Delgado and couldn’t be happier with our stay at this nice apartment. Extremely friendly staff and every morning a basket of breakfast made it even better. Definitely recommend!!

We had a wonderful stay. Despite some windy and rainy weather, the location is incredible. The home has so much charm and gives you beautiful views to the ocean. The location is a great base for exploring the western part of the island. We wouldn’t hesitate to book this place again.

The house and garden are lovingly maintained and beautiful. Helena+ Felix were perfect hosts and spoiled us with homemade cakes, fresh fruit, etc. during our 3-week stay. I would like to give more than 5 points.
