The home of the legendary Oaxacan singer Lila Downs. Lila, her husband Paul, and Lila's mother Anita redesigned the home. Nowadays the hosts are experimenting life changes that do not allow them to receive and hang out with the guests as usual, therefore we ask you to be considered, respectful and self service as possible, we are a great maintenance team that will be in a schedule from 9am to 5pm Mon to Sat, to help with any urgent need. Visit the 2000 yr old Tule tree (30 min away)! Visit Teotitlan and see our textiles (15 min away)!

La Danta Chayote

La Danta, a Garden retreat within the city center of Oaxaca. Stay in one of four incredible bungalows situated in the heart of Oaxaca, with access to all the best restaurants, museums and sights just walking distance from your front door. You will be staying inside an incredible Garden built over 30 years ago inside the aqueduct that brought water to the city. The bungalows are hand carved Cantera stone emulating the aqueduct, a unique experience surrounded by the incredible garden.

Our house is a traditional hacienda-type house. The guest bedrooms have their only entries through the outside patio. The private heated pool awaits for a relaxing swim after a full day exploring ruins or touring the nearby pueblos! Lachigolo is a small and peaceful pueblo, about a 15-minute drive from Oaxaca along the Pan American Highway, and around 5 minutes past El Tule. The location makes it a good base for day trips to places like Hierve al Agua, Teotitlan, and Mitla.
