Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Sámara

We had a fantastic and relaxing time in Samara. The house is very comfortable, with the best beds of our Costa Rica trip. The kitchen was well equipped, and everything was as described. The pool, while small, entertained the kids after a half day at the beach. Two things to note if you're going to book. 1) You may think it is walkable to Samara, and technically it is, but in the heat of the day it is not. 2) The public utility infrastructure of Samara is under strain, so expect blackouts and at certain times of the day a dribble of water pressure. This is a Costa Rica thing, not a house thing. We had a fantastic time.

We loved our stay! It was beautiful, clean, comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed the pool a lot and were lucky enough to see howler monkeys and hummingbirds from the deck!

We loved our stay at the Beach House! Absolutely amazing location at the beachfront, empty beach, nice garden area and cute house. Note regarding insects: We did get visited by a lot of bugs in the house (especially ants) but when we sealed the front door were to able to limit the number.

Excellent. We had a lovely stay at Hans's, who is very responsive with Daniela and always offers to help you. The house is as pictured, a beach house ON Sámara beach, so ideally located, with a convenience store opposite, Sámara's fishmonger is a block away and a beach restaurant 50 m away. And the sound of the waves to fall asleep, we'll be back for sure. Thanks so much Hans & Daniela!

Michael is a great host. From the moment we arrived, he was attentive and communicated very well. The place is very quiet and perfect for a vacation away from the noise of the city. In addition, Frijolar beach is very close. I recommend it 100%. It's an excellent place!!! We'll be back…

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The property was peaceful, clean, and incredibly comfortable. Julio, our host, was exceptional—by far one of the best hosts we've had in Costa Rica. He was responsive, generous, and showed great hospitality. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

Daryl Is an amazing host who is kind and genuine. Being a first time traveler to Nosara, we truly had a great experience. Jade and Daryl are very responsive and the space is beautiful. Location is near the beach and shops. We hope to return and stay again.

The house is superb and very well located a few minutes from Samara and Carillo beach, grocery stores and restaurants. The rooms are spacious with private bathrooms. Only small downside, the neighbor's rooster sings very early in the morning and in various situations...but we get used to it with time. Galileo is very responsive as well as Sandra. I would highly recommend this house. We had a good time there.

Amazing spot, a little hard to get to if you have a regular car however not impossible. a 4x4 is recommended but not a must. otherwise this place is magical and highly recomended

Casa Wendy was even better than expected. It is sooo.... nice and comfortable. We will look for this property every time we go to Samara!

Our stay at Steven’s place was incredible. The place looks just as listed and is every bit as stunning. Steven was a very responsive host and was insightful about the area. The roads near the house are a little rough but totally worth it. I would highly recommend staying here.

This place was amazing, the pool is the perfect temperature, the house is stunning surrounded by nature. Secure and safe when locking up for the night, you need 4x4 getting up the hill but it was a the perfect mini staycation

We loved the private location and cabin feel of our stay. It was clean and had plenty of room. The location was very convenient. I easily walked to Bodhi Tree yoga center for a class everyday. The beach was a short walk also. The hosts were very responsive and helpful in arranging anything we needed.

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful place! It was walking distance to everything in Nosara, including the beach, shops and restaurants. We especially appreciated the easy distance to carry our surf boards to the beach. It was lovely to swim and lounge by the pool in the hot afternoons. The three separate buildings gave plenty of privacy for three couples. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking and there was a lovely covered outdoor dining space. We would recommend staying here to everyone and would love to come back someday!

Casa Shambala/Tranquila is a little oasis off a lovely dirt road with as many horses and bikes as there are cars. The area is a slight bit out of town which I preferred as it centers you in the middle of a great hike, another more secluded local beach and a quiet and cool neighborhood vibe. It’s a quick bike ride or leisurely stroll to town and there are a couple of small mercados near by where you can groceries. We woke up to the sight and the sound of monkeys and birds singing and 3 beautiful hammocks to choose from to enjoy your morning coffee. There is a great gazebo space to chill or meditate or yoga or whatever. Safe and secure as well. Just a great spot all around. Chantel and Tonya and her adorable, quiet and respectful daughter only added to the positiveness of our experience. They were both very knowledgeable and friendly but also extremely respectful of your space. Highly recommend this place and hope to come back and stay again soon.

Vehiel was a great host. He was friendly and responsive. The place was very quiet and peaceful, down a short dirt road off the main road. In the morning, howler monkeys were howling from the hills. The beaches are a short drive away, and there is a grocery store right down the road. The kitchen met our needs, and the beds were very comfortable. Vehiel provided tour information and made sure we had everything we needed. We hope to return next year!

The accommodation is detached house and is a great place to stay if you are looking for a clean, private atmosphere. The facilities are top notch, they hardly show any wear. The beach (Playa Honda) is 3 mins walk. It is very calm, has black sand and beautiful palm trees surrounding. Apart from local fiahermen occassionally, it is not visited often. Enjoy the sunset of your life! Tidal waves can be very high and strong, but you can find the right time to swim there. The estuary of a clean river is nearby, offering a nice short hike (south from the house on the beach). The next beach tonthe North is Playa Junquillal is more frequented by people, and there are some facilities. Ideal vacation for a family with kids to enjoy the sea and plan a trip to other areas of Guanacaste. Mark, the host is available promptly, should there be any questions.

We stayed with Natalia for four nights in April 2025 we had an incredibly nice stay. The house is super nice and has everything you need and more (yoga space, 2 hammocks, etc.). In addition, you have the entire, almost invisible property to yourselves. All in all really great and by car only a stone's throw to the city of Sámara.

We had the most amazing time at the jungle house! Hearing and seeing the wildlife all around us was such a fantastic experience that we will talk about for years. 5 min drive to the beach, comfy beds, open floor plan and plenty of space for the 4 of us. Zoraida was the sweetest and came to check on us daily to tidy up.
