Food Scene
Some of NYC's best restaurants are a 5 to 15 min walk from the apartment... Bar Bete, Ugly Baby, Sofreh, Rucola, French Louis, Mile End, Grand Army, Frankies 457, June, Gage and Tollner, al Badawi, FOB, and, and many more.
For folks not familiar with the area, we recommend a walk along three main commercial streets: Atlantic Avenue, Smith Street and Court Street.
Start on Atlantic Avenue going towards the water (East River) to see shops and restaurants. Take a left (going south) when you hit Smith Street to see more neighborhood places. You can meander as far as 15 blocks (or less!), and make a right on to 1st Place to Court Street. Walk back up north on Court Street (back towards Atlantic Ave.) and you'll come across many more cafes, restaurants, bakeries, shops, etc.
Maybe the best restaurant experience in the area??? Food is amazing, service is great, love the decor and ambiance.

We love eating and having drinks in the bar area which has cozy, half-round banquette seats. The menu is limited in the bar section (can't order Korean BBQ at these tables). So if you want BBQ, you need to get a table in the main dining area.
However, if you want good Korean BBQ, we recommend the trip to Koreatown in Manhattan instead.
They do have karoke rooms you can reserve in the back too, which we've never done. But looks like lots of fun!
