  • Quiet, beautiful, and has the ability to make anyone feel like they’re at home. I would definitely stay with them again. Brady and John made me feel very valued as a guest. For a day, or for a week, I’m sure their space will be more than accommodating to you!

  • Comfortable and clean space.

  • Nice get away for a quite, peaceful private retreat. We were traveling cross country with a 16’ box truck and trailer. The police officer passing by was kind and helped me back out. P.s. Thanks! Officer Mee.

  • Cute little place! The mountain had some snow when we stayed, which was a pretty backdrop compared to the warm winter at home. Got really chilly at night but there were lots of blankets; the heat in the main room was just a little fickle. We were able to make dinner without needing to bring anything but our ingredients, which was nice.

    Victoria2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place! Peaceful and so relaxing! Everything you could want in a cabin and extremely nice owners! Thanks for having us!! We love love loved it!!! 😀

  • Donna and Wayne's hospitality truly goes above and beyond all expectations. From farm-fresh eggs, to helping us survive a snowstorm, Donna and Wayne truly showed us care and support during our brief stay at their lovely home. The rooms itself was comfortable and had everything we could have wanted and more. It was pristinely clean, full of little goodies to snack on, and wonderfully lit and warm. We felt truly at home. If you are going to be anywhere NEAR this Airbnb, you must see it. It was truly the best Airbnb experience we have ever encountered. Thanks Donna and Wayne!

The cabin property is bordered on the front with the Pine Creek Rails to Trail. On the back there is easy access to the Pine creek for kayaking, inner tubing, swimming, etc. This is an old cabin with lots of wildlife, insects and a small indoor shower in the bathroom. It is not luxurious, modern, or trendy. We have used it as a hunting cabin and a retreat from the fast pace of the world. You will want to bring regular size sheets, towels, toiletries, etc. Pets not permitted.
The cabin property is bordered on the front with the Pine Creek Rails to Trail. On the back it is bordered by the Pine Creek. There is easy access to the creek for kayaking, inner tubing, swimming, etc. The rails to trail is also very easily accessed from the driveway to the cabin. Rails to Trails, swimming or floating on the Pine Creek. Located in the Pine Creek Valley, there are trails to hike through the ravines of Ross Run, Wolf Run, Bonnell Run, as well as easy walking or biking on the rails to trails. Or, sit on the back porch and watch the Pine Creek flow past. The cabin is in a row of cabins, so there are neighbors. You will want to bring sheets (for regular size double bed, not queen size) and pillow cases, towels and washcloths, etc. The kitchen has dishes, cups, silverware, cookware, etc. This is an old cabin with lots of wildlife, insects and a small indoor shower in the bathroom. It is not luxurious, modern, or trendy. We have used it as a hunting cabin and a retreat from the fast pace of the world. There is a TV and DVD player there, but there is no TV reception or Internet access. Feel free to bring your DVD's along to watch. There are extra blankets in the chest in the back bedroom. There is a telephone there for local calls. Please take a long distance card along for making calls out of the area. There is VERY limited cellular phone service at the cabin. There is a fire ring in the back yard for cookouts. It may be good to take some fire wood along. There is also a grill, (please keep it away from the cabin siding when using and it is hot.)
Located in Ross Village, a row of cabins bordering the Pine Creek and the Rails-toTrail, the cabin is not isolated but is in a quiet area.
  • We had a great time in Merle’s cabin. Communication was great from the beginning. Check in was simple. Everything we could possibly need supply-wise was available. Place was very clean. Beautiful area right on the Pine Creek in a cozy cabin. Couldn’t have asked for more!

    Kristopher2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cabin in a beautiful location!

    Sarah2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our time at the cabin. We used it as a launch pad to ride 40 miles on the trail, go to swimming holes in Slate Run, fish, kayak, etc. Thanks to the opportunity.

    Derrick2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We could not have asked for anything better! The cabin is an awesome place to lay your head at night. The campfire allows for some awesome conversations with your friends or family. The ONE thing that put the icing on the cake, the view.

    Nick2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Location is awesome! Has a phone for local calls which helped out. Well stocked with supplies and clean. Beds are very comfortable and I’m picky about that. It was perfect size for three of us and we had a great time. A tree fell on the power line and Merle was quick to respond when our power went out despite being on his own vacation. (Power outage was not anyone’s fault, tree fell on line near Cammal.). We will definitely return. We saw all kinds of wild life. Eagles from the back yard. It’s also close to general stores and restaurants.

    Kathleen2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is in the most beautiful location and offered such a respite from the busy day to day. It is equipped with everything one would need, including firewood (and Merle kindly built a fire for us before we arrived). The cabin is right along the water and feet from the bike trail, so the location could not be better. We saw multiple bald eagles while we were sitting by the fire! There is no cell service or wifi, which we viewed as a positive thing - there was so much scenery to take in that we did not miss our phones at all. We have already started planning our next trip back!

    Shannon2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful time. Merle is a great host. I would highly recommend this location to anyone who loves nature and being outdoors.

This cabin overlooks beautiful Pine Creek. Rails to trails also is right on the back of the property giving you access to hiking, biking, and walking. It also has a full kitchen, bathroom, and extra sleeping space with a futon in the living room.
With being right along the creek kayaking and canoeing are easily accessible. Imagine sitting on the deck in the morning or evenings and enjoying the wildlife of deer, fox, assortment of birds, and even bear have visited along the creek for a cool drink.
The lane has other cabins that may or may not be rented the time of your rental so you may have neighbors enjoying the Pine Creek scenery as well.
  • Nice quaint place along the Pine Creek. Private and relaxing!

    John2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay while visiting the Pine Creek Valley. This area is one of those unique places that hasn’t changed much in the last 150 years. Beautiful sights and an outdoor recreation mecca. Hiking, bicycling, hunting and fishing. This area has it all!

    Ed2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location. We spent each morning drinking coffee on the swing by the water.

  • My second time at Walt’s,I have future trips planned to the area and Walt’s place will be my destination. I just got back from a trip and before I left I asked about heat and Walt made sure the heater was lit and ready to go. Great Host.

    Dale2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • we really enjoyed the cabin. there is so much to do in the area. I hiked part of the black forest trail, it was rocky and steep. mornings were cool and cloudy until the sun broke through. wildlife roams the neighborhood all day and night. I almost wished I was a fisherman, the creek looked so inviting. so many others were enjoying the sport.

  • I don't want to write a good review of this place because I don't want anyone else to know about it! I want it all to myself! This is a fantastic house on an even better property. The views are indescribably beautiful in all directions. The house was spotless and all the furnishings seem like they were brand new. Several mornings we were greeted by a herd of deer right in front of the deck (and one morning there were 2 turkeys as well). The bathrooms were all very clean, the kitchen was spotless, there were plenty of towels, soap, paper products, and even some laundry detergent. We had plenty of space for 4 of us. Each teen had their own "space" but the public areas were big enough that we could hang out together.

    Dean2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We booked the house to celebrate a girlfriends 30th birthday. We had a great weekend away. The house is well decorated, very clean and has some amazing views. It felt like a home away from home. It’s a perfect location - just out of town but nice and private at the house. We’re already talking about coming back during the summer. Thanks Christina!

    Katie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house with incredible views. We took our 3 young children and they loved sledding down the long hills that surround the house. Watching the stars from the hot tub was very memorable as well. The town of Wellsboro is only 5 minutes away which made it easy to pop out, but we loved a quiet weekend inside for the most part:) It's a Keurig coffee machine so bring your own pods if you have them. The kitchen had everything and lots of extra comfy blankets for snuggling up on the couch. Definitely recommend this quiet getaway. The summer would be nice to go back as there is a long rail trail that looks like a great bike ride!

    Rachel2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place was the perfect quiet getaway for our family. The views were absolutely gorgeous and the house was extremely comfortable and clean. There is a grocery store and a few small shops nearby as well. The host communicated in a clear and timely fashion.

    Chenjerai2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place. The house is clean, spacious and the mountain views go on for miles. We saw deer 2 days right in the yard. The town of Wellsboro is a gem only a mile or so away. You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

A quaint and cozy secluded cabin for two! The Doll House offers it’s guests a “wilderness” setting in a chestnut log rustic cabin that was built in the 1800’s. It is a romantic, charming, cozy cabin situated on over 200 acres of mountain woodland. Plenty to see and do – the cabin is also located near “Pine Creek Valley” which offers canoeing, rafting, and approximately 75 miles of bicycle trails. Features 1/2 mile asphalt runway for guests that prefer to arrive by plane.
There are ponds on the property that are stocked with bass and trout. It is a catch and release program so please use barb-less hooks and return the fish to water as soon as possible. There are lots of trails for hiking, bicycling, and snowmobiling. Some guests enjoy bird watching, roasting hot dogs over the campfire on the patio or just relaxing on the rocking chairs on the front porch. Additional activities with a fee is the 9 hole executive golf course and we also have ATVs for rent (must be kept on the property). Firewood is available at $10.00 a barrel.
We are located near the beautiful PA Grand Canyon with scenic look-outs and over 75 miles of Rails-to-Trails. Also within the area is the Piper Aviation Museum, Hyner View State Park which is a popular destination for hang gliders, historical towns and just under 1 hour to the Little League Baseball Stadium and Museum in Williamsport. We are also within an hours drive of elk viewing.
  • Peace and quiet. Would recommend to hit up a grocery store because there is none around-nearest one is like 50 minutes away!

  • Absolutely incredible trip. This is a must stay for anyone who loves the outdoors. Ken & Marion’s property is truly a dream! We had so much fun and were lucky enough to arrive to 6” fresh snow, plus new snow consistently every day! With so much to do and no cellphone service, this is a true getaway for outdoors loving people! We will be back!

  • Amazing location, great cabin experience.

    Mustafa2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had the best stay in the doll house! The cabin is super cozy and clean, it looks just like the photos. We rented ATVs and drove around the property which is super big! You may have to drive to other hiking trails and bring food because it’s far from any store. Keep in mind no phone service wifi or TV. We had the best getaway - thanks Ken and Marion!

    Olivia2020-01-05T00:00:00Z

  • Wonderful place for mountain views and star gazing.

    Ashley2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy lodge close to Cherry Springs—much nicer than the pictures allude to. Very clean and an excellent place to unwind for a weekend! Definitely have 4x4 if coming up in the winter.

    Katie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding, on top of the world stay with unbelievable views of the stars. Quiet, secluded home that was great to get away from all the hustle of the world. Great, quick communications & easy access into the cabin. For star gazing, there can’t be a better place around with the dark open fields & high, large deck only steps away from the cabin’s door. The place easily could accommodate 10+ people, while also being perfectly set up for 2 to get away & unwind in a cozy, affordable place. We will definitely be back, probably multiple times!!!

    Nicholas2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Feb 8-11,2020 We didn’t get to see the stars but we got snow! This is a beautiful area, and the cabin had everything we needed - especially enjoyed the heated towel rack! We bought firewood nearby in Germania and spent 3 days relaxing in front of a fire and exploring the property. It was a great escape from the DC area, we’re planning a trip in the fall to give the star-gazing another try.

    Dawn2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was absolutely beautiful and although we only had overcast and couldn’t see the stars, it was well worth the trip to just be as remote as that cabin was

    Tim2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Three friends and I stayed here for a quiet weekend away to celebrate my birthday. We fell in love with the lodge within the first 5 minutes of being there. Everything was so clean, there's a wonderful kitchen to use and there was plenty of space for us. We didn't have clear skies to see any stars but we still enjoyed the view from the observation tower and loved exploring the secluded property. Instead of venturing out to the locations suggested to us we stayed in and enjoyed a fire in the fireplace. This lodge is lovely, Benn was quick with responses and very thoughtful. We are grateful for having such a wonderful space and an amazing host for this weekend. We all agree this is a place we would love to come back to!

    Genna2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and good recreation trails off the property. Great vicinity to Cherry Springs and the country store nearby. Cleaner and nicer space than pictures show. Back roads and drive could be tricky without 4WD in weather.

A log cabin set in a nice wooded lot with a yard. A cozy atmosphere, comfortable furniture and friendly hospitality. We look forward to fishermen and hunters to stay with us. Pine Creek and state game lands being close. We have special offers for such groups. Don't forget to stop and order a sandwich while you shop at the general stores. They have unique gifts you don't see every day. We are open year around for snowmobilers, cross country skiing and if you like tubing & skiing Ski Sawmill.
This property also holds weddings, family reunions, and small events.

SweetDrift at Kettle Creek is conveniently located one-half mile from Cross Fork, PA on a beautiful trout stream. There is also a Main House on the property separately listed by Airbnb. Potter County is very scenic with many state parks, wilderness areas, hiking trails, ATV/snow mobile trails, streams, rivers and lakes. Neighbors are helpful and friendly. Wellsboro and Galeton PA is within an hour away and we are 30 minutes away from Cherry Springs State Park. This property is a great getaway!
Our Cottage is newly remodeled! Check out our photos -- our cottage is a great space right on Kettle Creek!
  • I highly recommend staying at this facility - great price, location and host.

    Steve2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem. The sounds of the quiet and creek allows you to get away from the grind of stress. Make note that you will not have any cell service in these parts and I suggest that you download offline maps! The cabin does have wifi with some limitations but it did not distract from the trip we had. Even though it rained a lot we did make it out to the dark skies which is worth it! Also note that all 3 beds are single size so if your a couple going here prepare to snuggle really close. To be honest though it added to the experience! Make sure to bring some coffee and use the coffeepot on the outside swing and just take in the silence! Also there is cards and checkers/chess combo and a couple of books. The wifi was sketchy to try and call people with but I was able to watch football on sunday through streaming it. Would highly recommend this place if you need a break from the grind of every day life!

  • Had everything we needed for our short stay away from the city

    Julia2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Spent a beautiful autumn week at the cottage! Super clean, really cute, with everything we needed to be comfortable: a well provisioned kitchen, comfortable beds and blankets, grill for making supper, and a fire pit and seating right on the stream which we enjoyed every evening. Cable tv, and amazingly even wi-fi for email and social media check ins (we streamed music a bit but it’s not as reliable for that). Our Labs appreciated the little yard for playing and the stream for stick fetching. Cottage shares the yard, covered grill area and fire pit with the Main House and we had very enjoyable neighbors for the week. Happy to have local hangout Deb’s Place nearby for bar food and the little market for ice cream and limited necessities, including fishing gear. Our activities included fly fishing on Kettle Creek, walking and (dog) swimming in the lake at nearby Kettle Creek state park; star gazing at Cherry Springs, a trip to Coudersport and Austin Dam, enjoying the fall foliage, and simply relaxing in this beautiful area of PA. Can’t wait to return!

  • The cottage is the perfect getaway! The stream out back is so calming; we saw a bald eagle and a large elk! The surrounding area is full of great outdoor activities and Kim is very helpful with recommendations and quick responses!

  • Great place to get away. So quiet and serene. Cabin is well accommodated and super clean.Had a great time and will go back.

  • The cottage was everything we were hoping for! My daughter and I and our 2 dogs had an amazing and relaxing time. We had meant to bring games with us and I was bummed that we forgot, but there were a few games and playing cards already there which was such a thoughtful and surprising touch! The beds were comfy and the shower was hot and great water pressure! We didn’t cook much but could have with all the kitchen amenities. SO GLAD there was a coffee maker as well. I drank coffee every morning on the porch swing, listening to the creek and looking at the misty mountains— it was magical! Great location for driving to all the places we wanted to go (Corning, Wellsboro, Pine Creek Gorge, Cherry Springs). I was initially worried about having no cell coverage (Verizon and no signal for miles around for us) but the WiFi worked great. We stayed beginning of September but I’m already itching to go back in a month or so and see it when the leaves are changing. Really so incredibly serene and beautiful!

  • What a gem this place is! Such a cozy little cabin tucked away in the mountains. It was perfect for what we were looking for. We had a nice quiet weekend away from everything. The cabin itself is perfect for a couple looking to disconnect for a bit. It had everything we needed and more. Our favorite part was how secluded the property is. Once you pull down the driveway, you realize how far in the woods you really are. Wouldn’t change a thing about our stay, Thanks again!!!

    Jake2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is very cute and isolated, which is just what I hoped for. There is a natural spring that has been dammed to form a small swimming hole which was very neat. We came just after sundown and the cabin was slightly difficult to find. When you look for it, it is ACROSS from the neighbors house, not next door like we had assumed based off the directions. Just keep this in mind when figuring out which power lines to follow (they go in three directions!). I had no cell service all weekend so be sure to plan your trip before arriving. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

  • A must stay at cabin

  • Such a cute cozy cabin!

    Thomasin2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This trip was mainly for stargazing and to disconnect and we were able to get both it was absolutely perfect. Both of the host were kind and caring. They also provided a lot of information in the desk of things to do it was very easy to navigate your way around in this area you don’t even need your phone which is great! We had such a great time we plan to come back in May so we can see the milky walkway. The cabin was cute, very clean and looks wayyy better in person then in the pictures. We also learned so much on this trip about the stars and our surroundings we are so very grateful for this experience thank you again! I highly recommended!

    Robin2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Benn's cabin for two nights with hopes of stargazing at Cherry Springs. The weather did not cooperate and it snowed the entire time, but we still had an amazing weekend. The cabin itself is warm, larger than anticipated, and has a fully stocked kitchen. As everyone else has mentioned, there is no wifi or cell service available so make sure you print out maps and directions prior to your stay. Because of the snow and ice, the driveway was a bit treacherous. Be advised that it is down a long and winding driveway, and without 4 wheel drive you may not be able to get out. When the snow worsened, we ended up parking the car toward the end of the driveway close to the street and walking the rest of the way. Cherry Springs was about 10 minutes away, Galeton was about 15-20 minutes. There are gas stations and a supermarket in Galeton, as well as a really cool movie theater built in an old church. We also traveled to Wellsboro and Coudersport, though those are further away. Even without stars or wildlife, we had a very enjoyable time.

    Lauren2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was very nice and it was fun to disconnect. The cabin is incredibly cozy. Even though the nights weren't great for stars it was still better than being home and it was beautiful. However, in the winter the location can be a bit unsafe, with the driveway and side roads being covered in ice + no cell phone signal. Nonetheless, it was still a great stay! Thank you!!

    Matt2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin! It was clean and cozy, perfect for our weekend visiting Cherry Springs state park and the surrounding area. William was a great host - very responsive, and he gave us great recommendations on local restaurants and things to do in the area. We would definitely stay at the cabin again!

  • We very much enjoyed our stay at trout stream! We didn’t make it up the hill in our SUV due to ice, but Donna was extremely helpful and made sure we got help, even though she wasn’t there. The cabin was beautiful and stocked very well. We would most definitely stay again!

    Isabella2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome cabin privately tucked away on the mountain. Really nice place to stay when planning a trip to stargaze. Great host!

    Drew2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place was truly wonderful. It is remote and beautiful. Donna was great host and really went above and beyond for my wife and I. There is a quaint little general store and bar about 5 minutes down the road. The food looked really good too but we didn't actually eat there. We were there during a snow storm and we stayed nice and warm with the fireplace. I absolutely loved cooking on a gas stove top. It was made very clear to us before we booked that we should have a 4 wheel drive vehicle for getting to the cabin, I wish we would have heeded that information, but we took our Altima and we made it, but we bottomed out our car in one spot ( bottoming out was also made clear to us as a possibility). So just be careful if you don't bring a 4 wheel drive, but it is doable and totally worth it. Well done, Donna! I give this the highest rating they allow.

    Jerry2020-01-19T00:00:00Z

The Apartment is a single open room that has a kitchen, a living room area, and a bedroom area. There is also a large porch and yard.
The Apartment has a twin size bed and a queen size bed. Air conditioning is used in the warmer months and a gas fireplace is used for heat in the colder months. The kitchen has all the major appliances. Just off the bathroom there is a washing machine and dryer. On the porch there is a gas grill and in the yard there is a fire ring we can provide some fire wood.
Blackwell is one of the villages in the Pine Creek Valley we are within walking distance of the Pine Creek Valley Rails to Trails, Mid State Trail, Great Eastern Tail, Babbs Creek, Pine Creek and a handful of other hiking trails. This area is excellent for bird watching, photography, hunting, and fishing.
  • What a perfect spot if you're biking the Pine Creek Rail Trail! The apartment is one house away from the access point in Blackwell. Ruth Anne graciously accommodated a late check-in Thursday and invited us to leave our car on Sunday so we could ride on checkout day. The apartment is a well-furnished studio space (two beds, lots of comfy seating, a full kitchen plus old signs and books in every nook!) in the walkout basement of Miller's Country Store -- ideal for post bike ride ice cream and early morning milk runs. The chilly fall weather kept us from enjoying the deck but not an evening fire. Parking out back was a little daunting -- down a short, steep slope to the grass -- but my little Mazda 2 handled it with no problems. Above all, remember that you're in a small, fairly isolated village and manage your expectations accordingly. Pack well (you'll have a long drive if you can't find what you need at the country store) and dress warm if you come in early fall. We were glad we had hats and gloves for the trail, but I wish I had packed fuzzy socks for lounging in the evenings. Be sure to ask Ruth Anne in advance for the wifi code -- we had no cell service in the apartment but the wifi allowed us to tell friends and family we arrived safely and check on directions to and weather for the next day's activities. All in all a lovely experience both on trail and off! Ruth Anne and the PCRT did not disappoint.

  • My husband and I enjoyed a peaceful weekend at Ruth Anne's place. We spent countless hours sitting on the porch relaxing. Our dog Cooper loved the back yard and the stream which runs right behind the apartment. We enjoyed the beautiful bike path that is within walking distance and also hiked Gillespie Point Loop Trail which is also very close. The Crossroads Tavern served us a great burger and Ruth Anne made us delicious breakfast sandwiches. If you are looking to relax in a gorgeous rural environment, this is the place.

    Barbara2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth Anne and Anne were so accommodating, and patient in answering our questions as we planned our stay. We were one bike short and were able to rent from the store, which was so convenient(and it was a good quality new bike). We could have rented tubes from the store also, but it was a little chilly while we were there. The apartment was very comfortable, pet friendly and perfect for what we needed. The shower wasn’t consistently hot, but doable. We really enjoyed having the kitchen, and the grill. The deck was a nice size with a dining and a sitting area. It was very relaxing, as it overlooked the backyard. The place was so peaceful with the large backyard bordering the creek. Some of us were blessed to witness a bear moseying it’s way through the yard one evening(unbeknownst to the neighbor, who was working in their backyard). The location was perfect with the bike trail right there. We definitely would consider coming back.

  • A beautiful peaceful setting with a timeless swimming hole to enjoy. Amazing host !

    June2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, the pets, and I enjoyed a few days at Ruth Anne’s cabin. Ruth Anne was so sweet when I asked if we could bring our dog and cat. The cabin is very private and charming, with a wonderful view. It is a nice size and the bed was very comfortable, we actually slept in late both mornings. One morning we went upstairs and got a delicious breakfast from the store. When we asked about the canyon, Ruth Anne’s daughter provided us a map and pointed out several viewing areas and hikes.

  • Extremely clean and well kept! This is a HUGE space with 2 bedrooms and a loft area plus full bath upstairs. One more bedroom and1 full bath downstairs. I was there by myself with my dog, and while we looked at the upstairs we only used the downstairs. The front porch is great to sit with coffee in the morning, the back porch is wonderful for grilling!! The fire pit area is great, the lawn is quite huge. The kitchen/dining room/living room is very large with country decor. Do not fear the lack of air conditioning! I was there when it was 90 degrees in Lock Haven, and it was not bad on the mountain. In addition, there are wonderful ceiling fans that do the job - and the host has provided 2 small electric fans for the bedrooms. The wood burning stove looked so inviting I was hoping it got chilly but alas it did not. It did storm one night, but my fears of losing electric were alleviated by the big battery lantern and huge flashlight provided in the kitchen. There is a beautiful screened porch but I did not think that there were too many bugs to sit out of doors. All in all my dog and I had a wonderful time. Well except for the red rooster that came over wanting to fight my dog. LOL. And that was just kind of fun because watching an 85 lb Pitbull not know what to do with that rooster was hilarious. Great location for seeing MANY state parks and forests, we hiked until we dropped. Thank you so much for the Firedog experience. It was a much-needed respite and quite the pleasure.

A cozy, comfortable home, close to boat launches, mountain trails, Hyner View State Park, Kettle Creek State Park and Sproul State Forrest. Boating, fishing, hunting, hiking, trail riding, porch sitting from an incredible vantage point and more. Watch the river flow by and wildlife going to drink. Perfect retreat for families, social groups, individuals and pets. Situated on the W. Branch of the Susquehanna River in the historic railroad/river town of Renovo, PA in the heart of the PA Wilds.
We've been named the most remote town in Pennsylvania. The whole town is remote, the house is within the town. It is clean and comfortable but it is not fancy. It's a house in a town that is surround by the woods. When you walk through the front door it is a step back in time. You are in the 1970's. Located in Renovo, PA town is only minutes away giving you access to grocery, sporting goods, gas stations, restaurants and boat launches. Renovo has a rich human and industrial history from American Indian to European immigration. Industries that have come and gone; clay mining, logging, coal mining and railroad. Up to present day: historical museum/sites, hang gliding compititions, ATV races/rides, Snowmobile races/rides, well maintained trails, Red Hill near the house is the site of the second oldest fossil ever found. But the house and the town is not what this destination is about. It's about the natural beauty all around. Go fifteen minutes in any direction and you are in deep woods! Spring and Autumn we have Lady Bug migration and hibernation. If you book during these times you will have Lady Bugs in the house. They are everywhere for about three weeks of the year. The entire area is a great place to fish, hunt, snowmobile, hike, swim, trail ride (horses, ATV’s, dirt bikes, bicycles) kayak or canoe. Or just disconnect and unwind. The house is purposefully disconnected from tech as possible. There is a tv to watch DVD's and an extensive collection of movies. But, no phone, no cable, limited cell service. What the house has… ·(3) bedrooms many can sleep more than one ·1 full bath and a ¼ b. ·modern eat in kitchen including dishwasher. ·washer/dryer ·patio: BBQ Grill, fire place, picnic table ·play house and swing set for children ·large front porch with view of mountains and river. ·covered parking (carport) ·two story garage (door 10 ft.w x 7 ft.h) to store the big kid play things i.e. boats, snowmobiles, dirt bikes ·closed in back porch to store smaller gear. What the house does not have… ·No Wifi ·No TV ·No cable ·No phone service ·Very, very limited cell service ·No AC (if you bring your own AC and the electric bill shows it we will deduct it from the deposit) The house actually stays pretty cool. What is allowed: Pets are welcome. But remember there are wild animals in the area. Do not let your pets outside alone. ·Parties are fine within reason, remember you are in a residential neighborhood. The people around you are not on vacation, they live and work there.
The house is located in a residential neighborhood but a five minute walk puts you in mountains, mountains and more mountains... It's a beautiful area. If you go to a popular site to watch videos and search for, "follow the river renovo", you'll see a beautiful flyover from Lock Haven to Renovo; that some Renovo residents put together. It will give you a great perspective on just how remote this town is.
  • We really enjoyed our weekend away from the city. Even though it was raining most of the time, the views were spectacular, and we had plenty of fun playing games and baking.

  • Such a. Beautiful location and great place to stay!

    Crystal2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Shari's house. It is perfect for a remote getaway. Her porch is fantastic with a great view. The town of Renovo is quaint and remote, and the residents are welcoming. Shari gave us local recommendations a directions to some places only locals would know about. We really appreciated all of the help planning our stay. Thank you for everything.

    Leslie2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We are ATV folks and had thought the town of Renovo was connected to the Whiskey Spring Trails, it is not. The town is ATV friendly and the area is very scenic. View of the hills from the house front porch is amazing. Good fishing in Kettle Creek too!

    Greg2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at this house for a long weekend with our son getting married nearby. Kitchen and living space worked out very well for all the cooking and other wedding prep we had to do. And the kids had somewhere to play. Air conditioning would have been appreciated since it was so very humid, but we knew before renting that it was not provided.

    Brenda2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • An older house, but comfortable and pleasant. The view from the porch is lovely, and the town of Renovo is charming. We were in the area for the Perseids meteor shower and although we spent much of our nights at the astronomy viewing area at Cherry Springs state park, we had some good stargazing from the porch at the house too! Shari was a good host - the place could have been hard to find, but her directions made it easy.

    Rose2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very functional. We were able to sleep well overnight while attending a music festival during the days and evenings. We enjoyed the hot water showers. The location worked well for us.

    Mary2018-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • The house was perfect for us! Shari was a wonderful host, quick communication and easy check in with a lockbox. The view from the front porch is tremendous! We were visiting to run the Hyner Trail Challenge, and it was an ideal staging point for the race, only minutes from the race.

  • Tracey is an amazing host! She was so welcoming and made us feel like we were part of her family. The place is very clean, stylish, and nestled in a small town close to a number of recreational areas for hunting, hiking, and fishing. I would highly reccomend booking with Tracey if you'll be in this area of PA! Such a great stay and experience!

  • Wonderful cabin in the mountains. Excellent getaway for any occasion, perfect for the lover of nature or just simple tranquility looking to decompress.

    Sean2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying the same weekend in late September. The location is beyond compare... creek in your backyard for swimming, fishing, tubing, campfires. Trail for biking, running right in the front yard. Lots of open space for kids to play and ride bikes. Comfortable front and back porches. Everything you need in the kitchen, plus nice touches leaving some breakfast food and drink and fresh fruit for the next morning. Robert is a great and speedy communicator. We love this place so much...our kids call it their “happy place” and say it’s their favorite place in the entire world. Not having WiFi, cable or cell access makes it a true vacation that’s hard to come by in 2019. Easy checkout instructions. Can’t say enough positive things!

  • We had a great time and saw lots of wildlife, deer everyday, bald eagles, signs of beaver, a porcupine and more. Robert thanks for equipping the place the so well, it really felt like our own get away place. We made good use of the kayaks, the rail trail, the river, and the large yard was great for outdoor games.

  • What can I say! Beautiful property. Loaded with everything you will need for a few days unplugged!!! This place couldn’t get much better. Kayaks, bicycles, rivers, trails, fishing, campfires, and plenty assortment of wildlife! The minor details is what makes the hone an experience not just a place to stay. Well done! Rustic cabin on 6 acres in the heart of Potter County, where with a huge porch, visitors can relax and get away from it all. Surrounded by forest, wildlife is abundant here from deer, bear, turkeys, & fox, to hummingbirds and big beautiful butterflies. Surrounded by Chipmunk Trail, it is one mile from star-gazing at Cherry Springs State Park to six miles from Lyman Lake & State Park. If you enjoy star-gazing, there is no place like it!
  • This is a lovely place to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and get away. We enjoyed the welcoming and comfortable house and porch to relax, visit, and watch the wildlife (we saw the deer, but no bears). The location is very close to Cherry Springs State Park which allowed us to see the beautiful dark sky with just a quick drive back. This was exactly what we were looking for in this trip!

    Kelly2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome cabin right by the observation fields of Cherry Springs State Park! Super cool interior and plenty to do in the surrounding area!

  • We had a perfect time. We had wonderful star parties at Cherry Springs and even in Lori's backyard. The dwelling, location, and recommendations were excellent. My family really enjoyed our stay. We even had a bear wander through the yard as we were getting ready to leave. It was a beautiful weekend for my family. Jim Sargent

  • The cabin was very cozy and had everything you need for a fun stargazing trip. The deck had plenty of comfy chairs and a table. Kitchen was great, beds and couches were comfy, and the fresh spring tap water was delicious. Cabin stayed cool thanks to plenty of windows and fans provided for us. This was a great place to see some stars and have a cozy quiet private stay.

The stargazing was absolutely spectacular!Very convenient for hiking, fishing, boating, and swimming at nearby state parks. The beds were comfortable, the towels were plush and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was the perfect quiet and peaceful setting in the woods to unplug and relax. Lori was a wonderful host and provided lots of helpful information and local tips. We would love to stay here again.

This is a cabin built in the 70’s with 2 bedrooms, full bath, living room/kitchen with a cozy fire place. It is located on 414, and one quarter mile from Rattlesnake Rock access and 1.3 miles to Blackwell. We are located in the heart of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon that offers scenic hikes, a 50+ mile rails-to-trails path, and beautiful Pine Creek.
Quaint town of Wellsboro, only 18 miles away. Streets have gas lamps, coffee shops, and restaurants. Well worth the drive.
  • Willie's cabin is a great place to stay around the beautiful Pine Creek area. It's very close to the trailheads for the West Rim and Mid State hiking trails, and it's a short drive away from the Grand Canyon of PA. The cabin was very well kept and had all the necessary amenities. It's next to the road, but cars don't come by very often. Willie was a great host, we misplaced the key upon returning from hiking, and he made sure that we were able to get inside. He sent a neighbor to check on us, and followed-up with a phone call. We had some of the best times on our trip sitting around the fire pit outside and looking at the stars. I highly recommend Willie's cabin as a great place to stay when you're in the Pine Creek area.

  • The house was charming. We went at the end of February and were surprised by how warm it was for an older house in the middle of a field. Bill was very responsive and took extra care to make sure we were comfortable. And of course the chickens. Couldn't recommend it more.

    Steven2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Benn was very courteous, contacted me before and after checkin and checkout to ensure everything was great. His home was large and had a lot of character. Unfourtnetly we had a cloudy night but we will be back to see the stars on clear night!

    Kenneth2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the farmhouse for the weekend for stargazing. We were not disappointed. The fire pit with the chairs is the perfect place for a relaxing with friends, a fire, a glass of wine, and the stars. The house is just as advertised. A huge rambling farm house (complete with chickens in the yard). All it is missing is the rambunctious family , with lots of children, running in and out, with Mom yelling “don’t let the screen door slam”. Be sure to wake up early enough to see the sun on the mist that settles in the valley in the morning. Eat pizza in Galeton at the Fire Fox Pizza. Delicious.

    Gina2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • wonderful farmhouse experience for a labor day weekend, had fun playing with chickens, cows and a lot more. The farmhouse is old but well maintained. Host Benn is very responsive, helped us open the door when we arrived there. A few tips: bring your own towels and shampoo / body wash; Download offline Google Map in advanced because you won't have good signal. WiFi in the house works pretty good though. If you are arriving at night, it will be super dark, drive with caution and be careful of deers

    Haotian2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place. Did some satellite image reviews before visiting, but completely underestimated the topology of the area! Very hilly!! Very remote, road is unpaved!! Amazingly have running water, and pretty much what you need on site. Keep in mind nearest store is more than 30 min away. Otherwise a fantastic farmhouse. Not a peep to hear as far as modern technology. Only crickets, the roosters, and the occasional ATV or car driving (maybe one per hour?) - the place is the definition of a remote farmhouse, very secluded. Total peace. And the night sky is absolutely mesmerizing. Thanks again!

    Razvan2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is second time we stayed at Ben and Thankful's. They are two of the kindest people I've ever met. It is hands down one of our favorite places to vacation. Stars are amazing with limited houses near by. House is spacious, internet connection great (for music) and the lamb we bought from them was out of this world. Highly recommend starting with them!

    Courtney2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely two night's stay at the Farm. The house was clean and spacious, but not too big for only two people. The kitchen was lovely to cook in and had everything you would need to prep meals. Wifi worked great throughout the house! Had so much fun exploring the property as well as the hiking trails near by. Will definitely be back in the future, hopefully to see the stars this time!

The cabin has a small fire pit which we enjoyed using, and there was wood available. I appreciated the communication in advance and the call from the property manager a few days before our stay.

  • This is a cabin experience as you imagine it. We came for three days over Thanksgiving and we had the most wonderful time. The traditionally decorated and fully equipped cabin comfortably fit the four of us and would have easily hosted two more, the surroundings are beautiful even in late fall, there are plenty of hiking opportunities in the area. The road that was mentioned in previous reviews is indeed very close to the house but did not disturb us in any way, because it is only very lightly frequented (at least at this time of year). Fully recommended!

    Jan Matti2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Hope's cabin on the river by far exceeded our expectations. It's incredibly easy to get to and super cozy. Between the sounds of the river and the views from the porch and yard, you can't beat it. Just a beautiful one hour drive from Cherry Springs State Park, we'd stay at Hope's cabin again in a heartbeat!

    Scott2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We would highly recommend Hope's cottage, having access to the creek watching the eagles fly each morning, evening. Hammock was great for stargazing in the evening! Hope had additional details plenty of firewood for the fire pit, water (which we was great since this was a biking trip) and even flowers added a personal touch! Communication, access to the cottage, was simple and straight forward. The house was clean, and well maintained. Thanks again for us sharing your cottage! ~J/R

    Ronda2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second visit to the cabin, and both times we treasured the sights, sounds, and beauty of nature that surround us when we visit this lovely place. We enjoyed the quick access to the bike trail, the well-stocked kitchen so that we could cook, quiet time on the porch, relaxing in the hammock, watching wildlife on Pine Creek and a lovely campfire with s'mores and mountain pies.

    Brenda2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • The small touches that Hope adds just make it all that much better. The bathroom is adorable.... sheets are awesome (good thread count) plenty of seating outside, Wood was provided for the fire pit, the list goes on and on. Great place to unwind.

    Nikki2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a great week at the cottage. The yard is amazing, sitting outside watching for animals, laying in the hammock, and our dog had a blast playing in the river every day. We spent the majority of our time outside, but if you do need to stay in, the cottage is cozy and not far from a grocery store and a few places to eat. The location is beautiful and not far from Pine Creek Gorge and other state parks. Keep in mind there is no wifi, service, dishwasher, or washing machine, so just plan accordingly. Hope was very helpful and told us some places we might be able to get service, as I needed to check emails from time to time. We had a great and relaxing time. Would definitely recommend it!

    Ben2019-08-25T00:00:00Z

  • So many thoughtful and helpful touches made our stay perfect. Lots of information and maps of local places of interest make this clean, comfortable apartment a five star experience. The warm homemade bread on the kitchen counter when we arrived was incredible. Donna is an excellent host!

  • This was an incredible stay for us! The photos do not give you the feel of warmth and coziness that we experienced here, and the care we received from our wonderful host! Having decided to take a last-minute brief trip for an overnight getaway to experience the PA Grand Canyon, I hadn't planned ahead to take much with me for the journey. Was I ever grateful because Donna had phone chargers all ready to go, a hairdryer (I forgot mine!), and coffee ready to make for the morning! Our hosts have thought of everything, from snacks to tea (of which I enjoyed a nice warm cup on our late arrival, along with a nice blanket left for each of us on the sitting chairs while I perused her big binder of local state parks and local adventures and activities! The fridge and pantry were full of goodies if we needed them, even almond milk! ALMOND MILK! I never expected that staying in the country there would have so many comforts of home! Donna, you're amazing! Thank you again for a wonderful stay, for your warmth and hospitality! You made us feel like we were at home with family! We will be back to visit you when the trails thaw and the greenery blooms!

  • Donna and Wayne’s place has absolutely everything you could possibly need. Every little touch was thought of. The kitchen was very well equipped, allowing you to cook full meals easily. Also, Donna made us fresh bed for our arrival. So nice! Conveniently located to the Grand Canyon of PA and many others wonderful outdoors spots.

  • This was probably one of the most amazing places I’ve ever stayed on a trip. Donna was so so incredibly kind, providing homemade baked goods, pizza, noodles, homemade WARM bread, farm fresh eggs, and so so much more. The area was so beautiful and relaxing the most perfect place to vacation in the entire world. She made our entire trip a billion times more amazing. I felt like I was right at home in a little farm town in the Pennsylvania mountains, quiet nights, smell of wood fires, birds singing, endless sky, and beautiful tree lined dirt roads. The apartment had every single amenity you would ever need: phone chargers, advil, tooth paste, stove, books, guides, and anything else needed. She was there to answer any questions we had and the cat and dog were there to say hi to us outside. It was a quick 15 min drive to the PA grand canyon which was so beautiful. We can’t wait to come back for another trip!

  • This is the perfect place for just getting away and unwinding. Donna has the best little touches. Freshly baked bread upon arrival and fresh eggs for breakfast. This is my sec ok and time I have booked with Donna and will not hesitate booking again.

  • Great place.

  • Donna and Wayne’s place was absolutely incredible. Donna met us upon our arrival to run us through the suite. She left baked goods and fresh eggs for us and a boat load of other amenities that was unexpected. The heated floors were a luxury and the in unit fan/AC unit was super helpful as I love to sleep in cooler temps. Although the WIFI was spotty, there were plenty of DVDs and games we used to occupy our time and it was nice to be able to disconnect. Her communication was superb, she made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend this suite to anyone who is traveling to Wellsboro and/or the PA Grand Canyon!

  • Hardly recommend for travelers. Donna and Wayne are so good, Friendly, helpful, we had fresh baked bread and fresh chicken eggs for breakfast... very good location, easy to find, near Canyon and Wellsboro. Thank you , we are planning to come back in the spring.

  • Beautiful home in a beautiful area! Had a great trip and very much enjoyed our stay in this house, overall it was very clean and comfortable.

    Jason2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for a business trip. I imagine if you were staying here for the state parks it would be perfect. I left my rain jacket there and Tracy was able to mail it back to me within a few days. Great overall experience!

    Bridget2019-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • I just wanna say, Tracy is an amazing super host ! I had my original Airbnb canceled as I was on my way to check in, Tracy responded to me at 4 am ! And was able to have her home ready for my arrival at 7am. The house is amazing ! Very quiet area, neighbors are nice. Loved the full equipped kitchen ! Home feels very warm, especially with Tracy’s little cute notes around the house. The only con would be house has pet odor, so if you are allergic I would not recommend staying here. Other than that, My stay was amazing, Thank you Tracy !

SweetDrift at Kettle Creek is conveniently located one-half mile from Cross Fork, PA on a beautiful trout stream. There is also a Cottage on the property separately listed by Airbnb. Potter County is very scenic with many state parks, wilderness areas, hiking trails, ATV/snow mobile trails, streams, rivers and lakes. Neighbors are helpful and friendly. Wellsboro PA is about an hour away and we are 30 minutes away from Cherry Springs State Park and Galeton PA. This property is a great getaway!
  • My family and I loved staying at sweetdrfit. House is extremely comfortable, kettle creek is literally in the back yard. We caught several trout on small spinners. Rear deck faces creek and has very comfortable furniture.

  • Great location, the cabin is rustic but is clean and has everything you need.

  • Kim’s place was a perfect home for The Flaming Leaves Festival! Kim went up and beyond to help us put and was very quick to answer any questions. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Plus, wonderful location.

    Cynthia2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome. Much more spacious than we anticipated. There were only 3 of us for a weekend cousins fishing trip, so next time we’d like to add more of the gang to the trip. Kim was very responsive and prompt when I had questions. The layout of the main house is really cool. When we weren’t out exploring the waters, we felt right at home. Cooked breakfast every morning, had our coffee out be the water, and Saturday we made some chili to go with the drop in temperature/college football in the evening. Plenty of silverware, utensils, pots and pans to bring your own food and cook during your stay. Oh, and did I mention dog friendly? I take my pup everywhere with me. So being able to bring the furry companion was a huge plus in booking this place. We’re already talking about our next trip and would love to come back in the spring for the hatch. Thanks for having us!

  • Beautiful, sparkling clean and lovely views. We saw 2 elk in the creek right behind the house. House had everything we needed and was comfortable and cozy. Perfect for a getaway!

  • Great stay!

  • Kim’s place is an amazing get away! It’s nice and isolated, but close to many beautiful parks including Lyman Run, The PA Grand Canyon, and Cherry Springs state park. There is a beautiful creek in the back with a nice fire pit. Perfect for those looking to just get away.

Enjoy our 8 acre property with wide open space and a beautiful view of the sky! We are happy to share the peace of Potter County and the Dark Skies with you! Our Lodge has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, private drive, pavilion with fireplace, and access to snowmobile trails/hiking/stargazing. Close to several state parks with swimming, kayaking, canoeing and hiking.
The back of the property gives you access to ATV, hiking, and snowmobile trails! The large pavilion makes a great place to enjoy the outdoors!
The house is within the Dark Sky Preserve so we ask that all lighting follows those guidelines.
  • Wonderful. Pictures were quite accurate and the decor was nice and cozy! Kitchen was well equipped with general spices, herbs, seasonings, and tools (minus a standard kitchen knife, but I made do with what was at hand, and just being nitpicky). Everything was clean and well organized, stocked with brochures of local areas, clean linens and towels, throw pillows, blankets, and the important thing, a clear view of the night sky. I highly recommend that if you are travelling to this area, bring a reliable GPS that does not rely on data connectivity or cellular signals, as there are several areas where service is not available.

  • We were pleasantly surprised by the house. The pictures don't do it justice. It's a great place to stay to relax in privacy. The open space is great for star gazing. If you want to be more active there are a lot of great hiking trails in the area. It's a great place for snowmobiling. There are public groomed trails literally surrounding the property. If you like to cook, the kitchen is nicely equipped. I would suggest pre-planning your meals and bringing most of your food since shopping options are limited in the area...darkest spot on the East Coast.

  • Gail’s place is lovely and perfect for star watching at the Cherry Spring. We will definitely stay here again.

    Tim2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • It was amazing. We hear coyotes howl, saw the Milky Way, and enjoyed a wonderful fire. It’s a great place to get away from the craziness of everyday life. Gail was also available throughout the stay. I highly recommend this place.

    Christopher2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the property, especially the pavilion. The view of the stars was fantastic. We'd stay there any time we visit the area.

    Thomas2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this little slice of heaven! The outdoor fireplace is so lovely. With three families, we had plenty of space both inside and out. Gail and her family were very accommodating and quick to respond to any questions/needs we had. We can't wait to visit again!

    Lindsay2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had a great stay at the Big Dipper Lodge. The cabin is beautiful and well stocked. We enjoyed hanging out in the pavilion and using the fireplace. The skies were clear our last night and the stars were awesome. The kids had fun looking for wildlife and we saw a black bear walking through the yard the morning we checked out. It was a wonderful experience and we are already planning a trip back.
