  • Tamsin is a great host, going the extra mile. The location and room is fantastic and having a hot tub is a real bonus. Highly recommended.

  • Tasmin’s place was perfect for a super relaxing week away. Her cabin is about a 30 minute walk from the station, (and a short cab ride) - Oxford is just a 20 minute train journey away if you fancy exploring. The thoughtful touches of robes and a ready and waiting hot tub were wonderful. The cabin was warm, comfortable and perfect for the trip. Communication was prompt and super helpful!

  • Fantastic log cabin with hot tub, a lot bigger than I expected. Fitted myself and 2 friends easily for a girls night away to celebrate a 30th birthday. Tamsin was quick to respond and provided lots of information before we arrived. Great place to go with the girls or with your partner. I would recommend to friends and family, and hope to return some time in the future.

  • Had a lovely weekend with my partner at the cabin retreat. Although it was in a residential location, you would never have known when in the cabin! The treatment we had was amazing and very relaxing. Cabin full of amenities to be able to cook. Tamsin gave lots of suggestions of food and places to visit close by. Excellent distance from Bicester village. However, did have one issue with the shower, it kept say LP and turning off. Other than this no complaints. Thank you, throughly enjoyed!!

    Carmel2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay. So clean inside and the hot tub was fab

    Charlotte2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely amazing place. Booked Tamsin's place for my boyfriends Xmas present, with the massages, and every part was gorgeous! Will definitely be going back! So relaxing.

  • We stayed at this beautiful home for 3 summer nights and have to say the weekend was perfect. The accommodation was great, everyone had an ensuite bathroom and the grounds were huge with plenty of activities to keep us busy including a BBQ, table tennis table and hot tub. Indoors there was a nicely sized dining room and living room which we could all fit in, and we spent most of our time in the open planned kitchen / breakfast area, so we were very comfortable. Our host left us plenty of guidance prior to arrival and was available to assist with any queries throughout. For a group of friends with young children the home provided an ideal place for quality time and making some great memories.

  • This is an outstanding house in the Oxfordshire Costwolds with an old house (chapel?) extended thoughtfully using local materials (stone, brick, slate). It's modern and clean but also has charm, think Danish design meets a Cotswolds house. Super clean and functional, fresh and stylish. Amazing communication from Caroline and Sylwia.

    Fred2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Honestly we could not have asked for a better place to stay over Christmas. It was sparkling clean and had absolutely everything we needed. Could not recommend more!! Caroline and Jon were highly communicative and the housekeeper Sylwia was also very welcoming on our arrival.

  • Wow - this is a great place. We visited for two nights for my wife’s 40th birthday and had such an amazing stay. The property is fantastically furnished in a beautiful location and the pictures don’t do it justice. There is so much space and you don’t feel like you are living in each other’s pockets. The children loved the freedom and also the amazing pool with its great features! We were blessed with great weather so never left the property and would highly recommend.

Set in the traquil surroundings of Lower Nill Farm this wooden cabin has glorious views across the Cotswolds with all the amenities to make your stay a relaxing break away from hectic life. Lower Nill Farm is just a short distance from the historical village of Hook Norton. Hook Norton is famous throughout the world for its brewery which has been making beer since 1849. Lower Nill Farm is also located on the historic D'arcy Dalton way which spans the length of the county of Oxfordshire.
The Cabin is an oak framed structure complete with exposed beams/trusses and vaulted ceilings which make the space light & airy. The glazing makes the most of the views looking out to Brailes Hill and beyond, it also makes a great space to watch local wildlife. The Cabin also has a huge garden at your disposal perfect for summer BBQ's and for children to play safely. The plot is in a very peaceful part of the farm an excellent place to unplug and relax.
Lower Nill Farm is located in the spectacular Oxfordshire countryside. It's a great base to explore the Cotswolds and also historical cities and towns like Oxford, Stratford upon Avon, Warwick, Banbury, Chipping Norton and Leamington Spa. The local village, Hook Norton, is a very picturesque place where agriculture and brewing have played a huge part in the prosperity of the village. The local brewery is the home of Hook Norton ales and a huge source of local pride. A visit to the brewery shows you a process that has barely changed in 200 years in a majestic building purpose built for the serious business of making beer. Other local gems are: -Whichford pottery and the adjoining Straw Kitchen Cafe -Broughton Castle -The Rollright Stones -Upton House -Chastleton House -Blenheim Palace
  • This stay really made our trip to the Cotswalds. It’s a bit outside of the Cotswalds, but if you have a car, it’s easy to get around. You can tell a lot of attention went into making this the perfect farmhouse. One bed is a pull-out couch but the duvets they provide are lovely and it’s nice to sleep by the fireplace and see the view out the windows. We really loved the fireplace and the wood/fire starting materials made it easy. The kitchen is lovely for cooking with all the utensils you need. We brought milk but didn’t need to, as they provided some. The hosts greet you and come by if needed. This rural stay outside of the Cotswalds was everything we needed for a weekend getaway from London!

    Cora2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the cabin. Lots of personal, thoughtful touches and comfortable bed.

  • Wonderful location!

    Jonathan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here 2 nights in Feb. Really cosy and quiet. Nice extra touches, like leaving the place stacked with board games, dvds, books and even a couple of bottles of the local beer from Hook Norton Brewery. Holly was there waiting for us when we arrived and showed us around. She was available via text at any time should you need her. Just a note that no toiletries were provided so dont forget those. They kindly left us some milk, orange juice, tea etc. Kitchen is fully functional and has everything you need to prepare dinner. The place is on a working farm so pitch black and silent of an evening - the perfect escape.

    Lauren2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place with fantastic views. Good communication throughout and loved the local beer!

  • Really lovely home, nicely decorated and plenty of books around to read. Sarah also included thoughtful touches like some food in the freezer in case you arrive late and didn’t get a chance to buy any yet! Would 100% stay here again

  • Sarah's place is honestly the nicest Airbnb I've ever stayed in! It's sparkling clean, decorated beautifully and is super cosy. We loved the thoughtful details (milk and cokes in the fridge!) and the bed is so comfortable. Our Chihuahua loved it too. Thank you Sarah.

    Naomi2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • This house is brilliant value! Stylish furnishing and a very comfy bed. The bathroom is large with a lovely shower and fluffy towels. Sarah responds to messages very quickly and is very generous with food in the kitchen/toiletries etc. It’s less than 10 mins to walk to the nearest supermarket and there is free on the road parking around the house. I stayed here for work, and it was like a home away from home. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

    Natalie2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's home is a beautiful place and so close and easy to get to Banbury train station where you can get to Oxford or London so easily!

  • Just stayed the weekend at Sarah’s and couldn’t recommend it highly enough, it’s a home from home. Everything you need is there and Sarah can’t do enough to help and suggest places to visit and frequent. A really great venue and an excellent host.

  • We had an extremely comfortable stay in a spotless, beautiful property. We really enjoyed our time there. We parked at the back of the property and accessed it by the back door it’s was easier than parking at the front. The bathroom was huge and doubled as the en-suite. The bed and bedding were of good quality and we slept well. I would strongly recommend you stay at Sarah’s home.

Shutford is approx 5 miles from Banbury and 7 miles from Chipping Norton. It is a small village with a traditional Pub, Village Hall and Parish Church dating back to the 14th century built in the transitional style between Norman and Early English Gothic. Its name is derived from Scytta's Ford & the Plush and shag weaving industry established here in 1747 has become the village's main claim to fame. By 1910 the only handwoven livery plush manufacturer in the world, “Wrench's”, was based in Shutford - they supplied plush for the coronation of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia in 1896, decorations at Windsor Castle for Queen Victoria & liveries for royal courts in Europe and the embassies of China, Japan, Persia and the United States. For those guests wanting to explore the surrounding areas during their stay in the Cotswolds here are a few suggestions - the sleepy villages of honey-coloured stone and lively market towns of Banbury, Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-Marsh, Shipston-on-Stour or Stow-on- the-Wold are all within easy reach as are the busier destinations of Bicester Village, Oxford and Stratford-Upon-Avon. Alternatively visit stunning Palaces, Castles and Country Houses; walk and ride (horses and bikes) along rural historic trails, footpaths and bridleways to explore ancient woodlands and wild flower meadows or simply enjoy a game of golf or tennis or even take to the skies in a glider for an altogether different view. • We had a lovely stay over the weekend. Alastair and Patricia were delightful hosts and have a beautiful home. We enjoyed our time there, had an excellent dinner at the local pub right down the road and were within short drives of multiple things to do - Warwick castle, Roll right and Banbury. Overall, we’d surely visit again and would easily recommend this to fellow travellers looking for a break in the Cotswolds

    Gaurav2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arrival we were made to feel so welcome by Patricia. She showed us around her beautiful home told us to use whatever we needed. The house is beautiful and very clean. We had a wonderful weekend and nothing was too much trouble. We had some severe weather on the sunday and as they had no guests arriving they invited us to stay longer as they wanted us to be safe .😊 The village is lovely as well. Would definitely recommend . You will be made to feel so welcome. We hope to return in the not too distant future .

  • What an amazing place and pair of hosts! Booked the Barn at short notice for an impromptu friends’ get together over a Sat & Sun night in Jan. Patricia & Alastair were super helpful and accommodating with lots of tips and flexibility. The place is better than the photos with buckets of charm and space for our group of 7 friends. It was perfect for our meet up... dining around the large table, playing games in the lounge in front of the fire, and even dancing to some tunes in the conservatory! Lots to do around the area - we chose a village walk (thanks for the map), a trip to Upton House and brunch at New Amsterdam (pancake house) in Banbury. Warm, cosy, divine beds and a fantastic rain shower. Lots of provisions and elegantly decorated. Thank you - simply best air bnb experience yet!

    RoseMarie2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasure to stay at the Barn, which was welcoming and friendly, just like the hosts Alastair and Patricia.

    Chris2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Alistair and Patricia were the perfect hosts. Their house is lovely and the garden was amazing. We spent the weekend in Shutford for my Mum's 70th and this was the ideal location for a family gathering.

    Becky2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We think ourselves to be so incredibly fortunate to find this exquisite home in the wonderful village of Shutford. As a location from which to explore the Cotswolds it is ideal. Alastair and Patricia are remarkably nice people and make great efforts to make one’s stay as good as it can be. It is rare to meet such good people and it seems to me that they have poured all of that inherent virtue into creating a home that exceeds all expectation. Every comfort has been considered and every conceivable need has been thought of. We found it to be ‘a home away from home’ and I think there can be no higher recommendation than that. Overall, I doubt that there is a better place to stay in the Cotswolds.

Freezer capacity available upon request. Main living room: The heart of the house, with exposed beams, a large inglenook fireplace with a wood-burning stove, three-seater sofa, plus a 'love-seat' armchair, window seat and 2 x wickerwork chairs; Utility room: Contains a toilet, hand basin, washing machine and tumbler dryer. From the main living room, five steps lead up to: Second living room: A spectacular room for both adults and children, containing a fabulous old bar-billiards table (the rules are on the wall!), a large open fire, exposed beams and a Smart TV, corner sofa, plus armchairs. There is also a piano, however please be aware that this may not be properly tuned. Stairs from this room lead up to the minstrels’ gallery, overlooking the piano and bar-billiards table, which contains a full size double sofa bed (see Key Features below); Returning to the main living room, stairs go upstairs to a landing, which features an antique washstand and leads to: Bedroom 1: A dual aspect room, with double bed, dresser and built-in wardrobes; Bedroom 2: Another dual aspect room, with double bed and built-in wardrobes. Bedroom 2 has access to bathroom 2 (see below), enabling it to be used as an en-suite bathroom, if desired; Bedroom 3: Bunk beds with two large storage drawers beneath and a bedside table with drawers for storage; Bathroom 1: Newly refurbished, with a bath (with shower attachment), toilet and washbasin; Bathroom 2: A newly built shower room, with toilet and washbasin. This “Jack & Jill” bathroom can be accessed from the landing or from bedroom 2, allowing it to be either a shared bathroom or bedroom 2’s en-suite bathroom. The garden comprises an enclosed paved patio, a real sun-trap from early spring to late autumn, with a table seating up to eight. Steps lead up to a raised lawn, with a bench and small table. There is a lovely view of the church tower from the patio and lawn. There is a low wall on the side of the garden, therefore pets and children should be supervised at all times. An impressive Cotswold stone barbecue, for which the kitchen/dining room window acts as a serving hatch, can be used in all seasons.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

  • We were a group of seven and had plenty of space in this gorgeous character filled cottage in Hook Norton. Quiet, comfortable, pretty garden, behind the pub (but not noisy at all), view of church tower from the garden. Excellent base for the Cotswolds, the cottage has everything you could want for a Cotswolds getaway! Highly recommend.

This is a spacious Grade 2 listed one bedroomed cottage, with exposed beams and Horton stone walls, refurbished to a high standard. Downstairs there is a large sitting room with two comfy sofas and armchair, and a kitchen/dining room. Upstairs is a double bedroom with bathroom en suite. It is perfect for cosy weekends away from the hustle and bustle of life!
The cottage is a very spacious one bedroomed space which offers off road parking for one car. There is a patio area with table and chairs. It is fully equipped with all the essentials to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.
North Newington is a small village with a pub (The Blinking Owl) just across the village green which serves real ale and pub food. Dogs are also welcome! There are lots of public footpaths to walk with dogs or not! There are many good local pubs around the area and our guest information folder gives lots of information on where to go and what to do. There are also numerous National Trust properties nearby including Upton House, Stowe Landscape Gardens and Waddesdon Manor, to name just a few. Broughton castle is less than 2 miles away. It is the location for films such as Shakespeare in Love and Two men and a baby! It is open every Wednesday and Sunday from May to September. The grounds are always available to walk around. The village is also located on the Oxfordshire cycle way which connects areas of outstanding natural beauty.
  • We really enjoyed everything at Herrieff's Cottage - lovely location, very well equipped, great space - warm and comfortable, and top class hosts in Mary and Justin. Can't recommend it highly enough!

  • Delightful little cottage space, very cosy and well-equipped in a nice quiet area. Mary met us on arrival and was extremely welcoming!

    Richard2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is absolutely fantastic, very big and has everything you could possible need. It was spotlessly clean and had lots of nice touches including some homemade cake on my arrival! I could not fault this cottage, it really is perfect and great value for money. It is easy to find and check in was simple. I hope to stay again soon.

    Jess2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A brilliant host and cottage, we wanted somewhere quite to spend our last Christmas before our baby comes along and Henriffs had everything we needed and more. Would definitely recommend!

    Catherine2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, spacious, comfortable and well-equipped cottage. Great location for the Cotswolds, country walks and national trust properties. Mary was easy to contact and allowed us to check out a bit later, would definitely recommended!

    Oliver2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is just perfect! Sparkling clean, warm and cosy and has everything you need for a great stay. The WiFi was great. Constant hot water. The lounge is huge. I would highly recommend it.

  • I cannot be any more positive about this fantastic cottage. We had a truly wonderful weekend and will definitely be returning. Check in was very easy and the cottage is very easy to find - it’s literally opposite the Blinking Owl pub, which we had dinner in and would highly recommend (cash only!). We arrived very late on Friday evening on a wet and cold day to a wonderfully warm cottage. The kitchen is spacious with all the cooking equipment you need. The living room is huge! It has two comfortable sofas and a large smart TV. As expected, being in a stone cottage, the mobile reception is poor but the WiFi was perfect throughout the whole cottage. The upstairs bedroom is also spacious and the bed itself was large and super soft. The bathroom was great and the shower absolutely perfect. As we were leaving we were lucky enough to meet two of the gorgeous dogs who were so sweet. The whole cottage was extremely clean - I felt very comfortable throughout our trip. The property has clearly been very well maintained and looked after. Highly highly recommend this gorgeous cottage, thank you Mary!

The room is in a Georgian Town house which is a Grade 2 listed building. The accommodation is spread over four floors and decor is manly in keeping with the period of the house. Centrally located with easy access to the road network, train and bus stations and the town centre. A bus to Oxford stops just a few metres from the house. There are supermarkets are nearby and a variety of pubs, restaurants and takeaway outlets.
You will be able to use the kitchen, bathroom and either reception room.
I love living here because it is so central, with easy access to Oxford And Birmingham. Banbury is a lovely market town and the surrounding villages are beautiful . Great area for walking, or just a stroll along the canal .

Settle into country life in our refurbished Farmhouse. Your bedroom has rustic country decor with vintage furniture, an amazingly comfortable emperor bed plus double aspect views over the surrounding village. Your room HAS ITS OWN ENTRANCE and is completely separate to our living areas.
Our farmhouse has a magical garden and views. Balscote is a ‘chocolate box’ village (or as one kiddy wink said, ‘its exactly like my fairy garden’) close to lots of local hotspots. We are a 10min drive from the centre of Banbury but you will feel like you are in the middle of no where in our sleepy little village. My husband and I live here with our two kids 5 & 7years old but don’t worry we use the other side of the house so you won’t hear us.. too much. They sleep between 8pm - 7am so it’s definitely quiet then but we are happy for you to make noise (My kids will sleep through anything). We moved here, from london, a couple of years ago so can give advice on what’s happening or recommendations for anything you might like to do.
Balscote is a sleepy village with a local pub, park and a lovely old church. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area if relaxing/sleeping/walking is not high on your agenda. Please note: the closest shop is in 10min away in Banbury or Bloxham so come prepared.
  • Great place to stay, bed is as massive as described. Cinnamon was a great host with lots of local tips sent beforehand. Enjoyed the friendly local pub nearby.

    Colin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for something a little bit different this is place to stay. The photographs don’t do the bedroom justice. The rustic feel is so calming & peaceful with lovely views from the charming windows. Cinnamon was a lovely host nothing was too much trouble. A walk to the local pub( the only one!) & chatting to the locals was a nice treat. Highly recommended

    Maxine2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful room and en-suite with the most amazing giant bed!! It was a struggle to leave. Cinnamon provided lots of local foodie recommendations (thanks!). We had a good home cooked meal at the Falkland arms (20 min drive) - Highly recommend!

    Chess2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great hostess, sent lots of info in advance and really helpful throughout. Thank you for an amazing stay. Look forward to coming back!

    Deep2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is absolutely one of the most memorable hamlets we have ever stayed in, it is absolutely gorgeous and you should not miss the opportunity to stay here. Cinnamon is a wonderful gracious friendly hostess, and her home is an absolutely fabulous old country home with a beautiful back garden, a lovely view and the biggest bed I have ever had the pleasure to sleep in, the bathroom is enormous and the shower huge too. The home is the quintessential crooked old English house with uneven floors and tiny doors, (watch your head coming out of the bathroom) . If you are looking for the real British experience make your reservation right now, you will not be disappointed.

    Martin And Patrice2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful hideaway farm house in a beautiful North Cotswolds village. Cinnamon went above and beyond in making sure I had a wonderful stay. Best kept secret in the area!

    Kerrie2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cin was very helpful and made checking in / out very easy. The space is decorated nicely and was perfect for what we needed. Although it is part of the house, the separate entrance gives you plenty of privacy. Thanks again Cin!

    Matthew2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Cinnamon’s place is an absolute gem.....it was so lovely we stayed an extra night and would have loved to stay longer !! The bed is amazing, the decor is stylish, you have total privacy but Cinnamon is only a text message away if you need anything. We loved walking around the village, so much to see, so much history and the locals are so friendly. We had dinner at the local pub on Friday night and it was probably the highlight of our past few weeks in England!! The food was great but the company was amazing and we met the nicest people . All I can say is do not hesitate, book the room at Cinnamon’s and I can guarantee you will love it!!

  • We had an enjoyable stay in The Old Rectory Coach House, Wroxton. The property was spotlessly clean and very well presented. Check-in was straightforward and communication with the host - Iola - was excellent. It is a studio apartment and therefore quite small, but the bathroom was just right with a really nice shower and the bed was big, cosy and very comfortable. The location is ideal for exploring The Cotswolds and the village of Wroxton is absolutely beautiful.

  • A lovely little retreat which is furnished to a high standard. A very peaceful and relaxing setting in a beautiful village. We had a wonderful stay and an extra bonus was the fantastic weather. Thanks for supplying the coal for the bbq which we put to good use! Thanks Iola for sharing your beautiful retreat.

  • What a fantastic place to stay. Iola was an incredible host, she really put her heart into this beautiful space. So many little touches made it that much better. The local area is lovely and there's a great Indian restaurant 3 minutes down the road. I would love to stay here again. Highly recommend. Thank you!

  • We had a lovely time despite the weather. It’s a charming place to stay and use as a base for visiting other areas.

  • We loved staying at Wendy's and Ian’s place. The barn is warm and cosy, lovely sitting room and bedroom with a super comfortable bed. The location is great and in a quiet picturesque village. Wendy is a fantastic host, really helpful, thoughtful and responds to massages quickly. We also appreciated the local information Wendy gave us. We will definitely be back and thank you for letting us stay at the barn!

  • Second time at Mulberry Barn. Very cozy and nice. Look out for Lettie - her tummy needs to be scratched. Best value in the area.

  • We really enjoyed staying at Mulbury Barn! It’s a very nice and cozy place, with very welcoming hosts. We had a perfect stay and would definitely come again if we have the chance !

  • Wendy and Ian were fantastic hosts with great communication inc directions, local information and Wifi code etc. Plenty of private parking and the cottage was so quaintly lit with fairy lights. The accommodation was immaculately clean, well furnished and very warm and cosy. Kitchen has everything you need to self cater. The weather wasn’t great but the garden looked beautiful and I’m sure would be a real benefit in the summer. Locally, we had a fantastic meal at the Boxing Hare. Taxi was around £13. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back again.

  • Dawn runs a professional business without sacrificing personal warmth. Her vegetarian breakfast fry-up is not to be missed, I promised myself only once but in the end devoured it on all three days.
