Little Staddles is a contemporary cedar clad chalet, set in a pretty woodland, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind, with a huge cosy bed, woodburner, bath and kitchen area.
Little Staddles has been designed as a luxurious hideaway - a place where you can listen to the woodpeckers and owls and maybe spot a deer roaming in the woodland whilst soaking in the freestanding bath. Adjacent to our family home Little Staddles is the perfect retreat. Exterior Little Staddles is a separate building. It has its own access with private off road parking and a very private decked area with sun loungers, chimnea/bbq and a table. This space has been carefully landscaped with wild flowers and shrubs. The accommodation is located up steps and accessed from its balcony which has a beautiful sunny aspect. Interior There is a cosy seating area with LED television and a wood burner, including a large supply of logs. The open plan space also has a kitchen area with breakfast bar, sink, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave oven, toaster, kettle, 2 ring gas hob and all you need to make breakfast or simple meals. There is a Bialetti espresso gas top maker, a cafetière and a lavazza milk heater and frothier to make the perfect coffee! There is a superking size bed with a sumptuous goose down duvet and mattress topper which should ensure a great nights sleep. The bathroom is indulgent, with a freestanding bath where you can relax and enjoy the woodland views and there is a very spacious walk in shower. There is also an ipod dock, Dab radio and wifi.
On our doorstep are some lovely walks into the woodlands and down to River Cottage H.Q. (which is a 30 minute walk away), or you can walk into Lyme Regis (which takes about an hour). A 10 minute drive will also have you in Lyme Regis, where you can stumble upon lovely cafes and restaurants, artisan shops and galleries, stroll along the seafront, find a fossil or two or simply sit and relax. This, the Jurassic Coastline is an area full of dramatic scenery and beautiful coastal walks. I will try and put photos of the local area and details of any local events on our (website hidden) page, Little Staddles
  • Claire is so great with communication and there for anything you need. This is probably the calmest and most relaxing Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in and just what I needed. Spotless, beautiful and cosy. Hope to return in the future. So lovely to feel like you’re out in the sticks but just a short drive from many great locations. I particularly loved the golden cap walk suggested by Claire. Such a great stay.

  • We had a lovely stay at the hideaway. Would highly recommend for a cosy break. The road up the accommodation is quite steep but is fine for a car.

  • This is really a top notch Airbnb. Its stylish and super comfortable, ideal for a weekend break for 2. The place is very modern with well designed features and ameneties. Its one open plan space (bed, living and kitchen) but is not what you'd describe as a studio. The thoughtful architecture makes it feel like separate rooms. The bathroom is really special, lovely fittings and immaculately presented. Loved it! Claire is also charming and very helpful.

  • Beautiful little place. Very serene surroundings and perfectly situated to explore Dorset and Devon.

    Patrick2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect hide away for 2. The apartment is compact so wonderfully cosy, but at the same time has every amenity you could need. Stunning location. Perfect for River Cottage (walkable but would only recommend it in the summer) less than 5 minutes drive away.

One of the most popular properties in the UK on Airbnb! Great value for this amazing cosy log cabin. This property is extremely popular and has amazing reviews. Comfy with amazing views make this the perfect place to stay on holiday. Valley lodge is tucked away with lovely views of the valley and the sea beyond, secluded with a Sunny open plan living room, kitchen/dining and sofas around the wood burner. Delightful walks from the cabin and Very near Lyme Regis on the beautiful Jurassic Coast.
Coronavirus- You could quite happily self isolate here as this property is away from lots of houses and people but you are not very far away from civilisation if you need anything !!! Please be assured that due to the current situation I am making sure this property is cleaned thoroughly with AnitVirus products and every door knob , light switch and surface has been given special attention. This lovely property is completely self contained and there is only 1 confirmed case in the whole of Dorset ( 14/3/20). Whilst I appreciate the huge concern I am wanting guests to understand that you can come here to get away from it all and relax and spend some quality time in a beautiful location. As soon as you walk into the cabin, you know that there is something special about being surrounded by wood. The open plan living space works really well too. It means that whoever is cooking can still chat with friends and family while they are relaxing on the sofas. So no one is left out. And the views are amazing. The cabin is open plan living, with 2 double bedrooms a shower room and utility with washer/dryer. We will leave you some kindling and a few logs for the woodburner. The petrol station sells wood if you need more. There is Parking outside for two cars. Decking with picnic table. Enclosed garden with grass lawns. Bring your BBQ and entertain amongst these wonderful views. You can all Relax in the knowledge that your dogs and children will be safe from escaping with a good secure fence all around the property. Guests are given complete privacy. We are around, however, if there is a problem. Uplyme is very convenient. It is easy to get to from the main road and Lyme Regis is only 5 minutes by car. There is a lovely walk from the cabin down the river valley to the sea (map in the cabin). It takes about 40 minutes on foot. Other beautiful places to walk, like Golden Cap, also on the coast are not too far away. Lyme itself is charming and quirky. it is the most beautiful town and extremely popular. Lyme Regis has made the top ten places to stay by both The Times and The Guardian and we have many a famous visitor staying here and ITV’ s travel expert ‘Simon Calder’ has visited regularly and highly recommends this gorgeous town. Lyme Regis is unspoilt and with its amazing scenery and strong arty vibe it remains one of the most searched for places to stay in the UK. It has lots of independent shops and cafes too which make it a perfect place to holiday or visit. The local petrol station in Uplyme has a brilliant shop and post office if you need anything quickly. The best places to buy food are either Axminster where there is a good butcher, or Felicity's Farm shop on the way to Bridport but the farm shop in Kilmington is where us locals shop and it is a great place to buy gifts and find special food and it even has a fresh fishmongers and florist ! Superstores- Waitrose in Bridport. Tesco’s stores are in Axminster and Seaton and Lyme Regis has a smaller Tescos and Coop There is a bus from Uplyme to Lyme Regis or Axminster. The nearest mainline station is at Axminster which is about 10 minutes away. There is parking for two cars outside the log cabin. We provide bedlinen and bath towels, but not beach towels. So please bring your own if you want to spend time on the beach. Lyme has a lovely sandy area of beach, right by the pub for adults and safe for children. The cabin is wonderful and we have had some fantastic reviews. This beautiful gem is one of the most popular properties on Airbnb in the uk and our repeat guests that come back each year is testament that this place is pretty special! The area is ideal for holidays and there is lots to do or if you prefer you can do absolutely nothing except relax , read a good book with a glass of wine and just enjoy the peace and tranquility of the cabin. If you want a holiday with straight lines , minimal decor and lots of Crome then the cabin is not for you but if you like warmth, cosy , rustic surroundings , lots of nature, stunning views , good pubs and fantastic food, then this place is ideal !
There is also lots do to locally and there are some wonderful places to eat out in Lyme Regis. There is Hix's famous seafood restaurant and River cottage in Axminster are both amazing. Also there is lots of good restaurants and pubs in Lyme Regis and there is also a great Indian restaurant in Lyme , a Thai restaurant and on the sandy part of the beach there are two highly recommended pubs called The standard and The Harbour. You will find these are some great places to eat and drink whilst enjoying the stunning views which overlook the world famous cobb. Pub of the year is just down the road which is The Anchor Inn in Seatown Places for children- Lyme museum Sea world, Weymouth Crealy Adventure park ( rides , rollercoasters and a great day out) - about 25 minutes away between Sidmouth and Exeter. The donkey Sanctuary nr Sidmouth Abbotsbury Swannery Go climb - Exeter Charmouth tunnel - which is very local to here has a shooting range and a tree tops course.
  • Fab property! Great location gorgeous walk in to lyme and fabulous views from the property. Thank you we will be back x

  • We had a great stay at Caroline’s place. She had left homemade bread, granola, muffins and brownies as well as butter, eggs, juice and milk in the fridge. We were looking for a cosy cottage to spend a few relaxing days reading and walking and the cottage was perfect for that. Small touches like the robes and slippers that were left were lovely. It is also a short drive to Lyme Regis for a great fish and chips, local restaurants and shops. I would definitely stay here again!

    Lucy2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely little place, good walking, the beach is great and almost deserted. Easy drive to Lyme Regis or Seaton. The hospitality included some really nice touches that we appreciated.

Caroline was an excellant host; from checking in with us to all of the delicious homebaked goodies there to welcome us. This is a well maintained, well set up and well equipped cottage in a beautiful location.

The Shooting Lodge is a converted lace making school located at the end of a true beaten track with uninterrupted rural views. Just minutes away from the Jurassic Coastline, this quirky venue is totally secluded nestled into an area of outstanding natural beauty offering a break away from everyday life.
Combining a mix of home comforts and escapism, The Shooting Lodge has a fully functioning kitchen and bathroom with a mezzanine level offering sleeping accommodation. The rustic kitchen provides all the facilities for a comfortable stay including kettle, toaster, microwave, dishwasher and a one off cooking experience on a range cooker or on the woodburning fire. The open plan living and dining area has a distinct feel with Scottish influences and is full of character with a large woodburner that heats the Lodge as a focal point, exposed oak throughout and herringbone flooring, double doors opening out onto the courtyard and banquet style table. Upstairs, a bespoke bathroom is tucked into the eaves with exposed wood throughout creating a delightful sanctuary offering a freestanding slipper bath, hand wash basin, WC and heated towel rail. Also on the mezzanine level there is a private double bedroom with stunning views across the surrounding landscape and overlooking the ground floor, there are two single camp beds provided additional sleeping accommodation. In true escapism spirit, The Shooting Lodge is free from modern technology and allows you to reconnect with your surroundings and loved ones. The property really comes alive at night with the opportunity of candlelit evenings in front of the fire, perfect for cosy winter getaways.
Located in the heart of an area of outstanding natural beauty and close to the Jurassic coastline there are a significant amount of things to do and see. There are picturesque fishing villages such as Beer to visit as well as the coastal towns of Sidmouth and Lyme Regis all within 30mins drive. Plenty of opportunities for getting out and about with the Jurassic coast path and East Devon way for the walkers as well as local horse riding schools and numerous lanes for the cyclists. Local golf courses are situated at Honiton, Sidmouth and Axe Cliff. As well as lots of lovely local beaches for the families there are days out such as the Donkey Sanctuary, Seaton tramway, Pecorama, Bicton botanical gardens and crealy adventure park, again within 30mins drive. Some of the local highlights for the foodies are The Pig at Combe, Hix oyster restaurant at Lyme Regis, The Tuckers Arms at Dalwood and the Holt in Honiton. Further afield, both Dartmoor and Exmoor national parks are approximately 1 hours drive away and the city of Exeter is a 45 minute drive.
  • At the one year anniversary of my mother and brothers sudden death I was looking for somewhere to stay that was secluded and would take me away from the daily humdrum of life and this property did not disappoint. The lodge was absolutely stunning and the scenery was gorgeous. Waking up to hearing only the birds singing and going to sleep in blissful silence is something hard to find but not here! The lodge was exceptionally well equipped with everything you need to be holed up, the log fire was lovely in the evenings and the large dining table was surprisingly useful, we ate one end and used the other for our never ending game of monopoly. The bed was comfy and the room smelt divine. The bath was a blissful added extra. The generator was easy to use if you needed electricity but to be honest we hardly used it, the plentiful candles were enough for us. The kitchen included everything you need, loved the Aga. All in all, we were sad to leave and would love to return.

  • Beautiful home - really a great countryside retreat off the grid.

  • What a beautiful location ! If you want an exclusive stay and are a country lover you won’t be disappointed.

    Katherine2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful spot! Our boys loved it so much they asked if they could extend our stay for a year..! We spotted 10 deer on our early morning walk and countless songbirds and pheasants. Peaceful evenings by candlelight (/minus WiFi) brought much needed relaxation and wonderful family time. Thank you!

    Milly2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Alice's Barn really is such a hidden gem. My girls aged 9 and 10 were a little nervous about spending 3 days without a TV but they loved it as did we. The barn is so special in every way, and helps you reconnect with nature and most importantly one an other. There is a lovely roll top bath that's not shown in the pictures too which is a treat. We used the generator at meals time, just so as we had a little more light but other than that enjoyed candle lit evenings and cozy mornings. Highly recommend this getaway for anyone's family.

Lots of lovely walks from the door step: The East Devon Way is just at the bottom of our driveway. It takes about 45 minutes to walk to Lyme Regis and the seafront along the pretty River Lym (much better than going along the road!). Turn right at the end of the drive and within minutes you reach Prescott Pinetum, a beautiful wooded walk with some ancient trees. This leads to Trinity Hill nature reserve with an array of pathways and cycle trails. Our favourite walk is at Ware (a 5 minute drive under the viaduct). From here you connect with the South West coast path where you can go right on the Undercliffes path to Seaton or left towards Lyme and down steps through the woods to reach Monmouth Beach and to walk along the Cobb, the wall surrounding 13th century harbour.
The Garden Studio is situated just a mile from the sea, on the Dorset/Devon border, in the picturesque village of Uplyme, just above Lyme Regis. We are on a private lane adjacent to the East Devon Way and guests have easy access to a plethora of beautiful walks and cycle trails from their front door. It's just a 5 minute stroll across the field to Uplyme's village green, tennis court, friendly village pub and post office. Our guests love to take the scenic footpath into Lyme Regis, away from traffic, along the River Lym (40-50 minutes). We are 40 minutes drive from the City of Exeter (Devon) and larger towns of Dorchester (Dorset) and Taunton (Somerset). The Garden Studio boasts a tranquil yet convenient location. Guests can enjoy the hustle and bustle of the pretty seaside town of Lyme Regis, but then retreat to this rural hideaway just a few minutes down the road. Away from the crowds, you can relax in the privacy of your own space - inside and out - with the gentle sound of the running fountain. Alternatively, enjoy a potter in our surrounding countryside, home to deer, foxes, pheasants and rabbits as well as an abundance of bird life. If gastronomy is your passion, of course this area is home to celebrity chefs, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall (River Cottage) and Mark Hix (HIX Oyster and Fish House), as well as a host of other quality eateries. Many of our guests find The Garden Studio an excellent base if attending an event or course at River Cottage - a few minutes drive up the road or a 50 minute woodland walk through Trinity Hill Nature Reserve. Walkers, nature lovers, fossil hunters will all enjoy exploring the beaches and spectacular footpaths along the World Heritage Coastline. Twitchers will enjoy the bird hides at Seaton Wetlands or the popular bird-watching trips which give exclusive access to parts of the Axe Estuary via the Tramway. This area also boasts a wealth of historical and literary links. Lyme was granted a royal charter by Edward I in 1284 and is famous for its fossils and paleontoligist, Mary Anning, as well as the Monmouth Rebellion and smuggling. This is also Thomas Hardy country and Lyme's Cobb harbour is featured in Jane Austen's 'Persuasion' and John Fowles' novel, 'The French Lieutenant's Woman'. If you want action and adventure, there are plenty of opportunities for mountain biking, horseriding, kayaking, paddle-boarding, deep-sea fishing etc.. You can even try shooting at The Tunnel (10 mins drive), training centre for Team GB.
  • Our weekend at the Garden Studio was a much needed dose of tranquility during a stressful time. The studio was lovely and well equipped, and Kate was a great host, providing local advice, a stress-free check-in and thoughtful touches such as biscuits and fresh eggs when we arrived. I would highly recommend this stay, and we hope to visit again!

    Martin2020-03-22T00:00:00Z

  • Kate and Mike's place is a lovely garden studio in a perfect location. It's around a 30-40min walk to Lyme Regis, through a river trail that passes some beautiful cottages. It's also within walking distance to nature reserves if you want to get into the country. Kate was quick to respond to any questions I had prior to booking. The studio is well equipped and has a beautiful garden and fountain. We had a lovely, relaxing stay. It's on our list of places to go back to.

  • Charlie’s place was really great. Myself and three friends stayed for a weekend and there was nothing to complain about. Swimming pool was amazing to have so close by. The house was warm and everything was as advertised.

  • Everything you need for an escape with the added bonus of a private pool. Clean tidy and cosy and hosts respond to any messages any time. Nothing was too much trouble

  • We stayed here a year ago and loved Lavender Cottage, hence why we came back again. We loved and noticed the changes that have been made and now we love it even more.. definitely be back again.

  • Really nice cottage in a nice area. As we expected the cottage has a lot of character, everything inside is a bit old, didn’t mind that but unfortunately it wasn’t very clean. Usually when is an old place it needs a bit of extra care when comet about cleaning.Otherwise we had a lovely time.

    Andreea2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful, beautiful, clean and full of character. The perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle that I’m used to. This is a must stay.

Peaceful self-contained studio apartment adjoining owners' eco-house set in its own woodland and wild meadows with spectacular sea views from garden. Beautiful walks to Lyme (2 miles) & River Cottage (1 mile). Stunning retreat in nature. Walkers/bird-lovers/foodies paradise. 1 of 2 studios with plenty of outside space. This is the larger of the 2 with a bath instead of a shower, a bigger kitchen and distinct areas for kitchen and bedroom.
A former artist's studio, the apartment is a modern airy space within a wild, woodland setting. It has been newly decorated (and redecorated January 2017) throughout and has a particularly spacious bathroom with a large comfortable bath and views out to the woods to the south and a wild flower bank and natural spring to the west. It is perfectly located for some truly wonderful walks: the East Devon Way adjoins the property and there are several beautiful routes through the countryside to Lyme Regis, including the River Way along the River Lyme into the centre of town. It's about an hour's walk to the Cobb or to the Town Mill cluster of shops, restaurants and galleries or 10 minutes' drive. You can have a great day on the beach or walking and then come home to the seclusion of the woods and meadows. We have some of the best bird and wildlife around. You will hear owls calling in the evenings and maybe spot a badger snuffling about in the garden. Bird-feeders are positioned opposite the bedroom and bathroom windows so you can watch in comfort. We are in the process of restoring the wild meadows and have a mass of wild orchids, bluebells, foxgloves and native daffodils, depending on the time of year. There are views of Lyme Bay and the island of Portland from the top meadow where a bench is provided for your use. The room is designed mainly for 2 people but we do have a z-bed (fold-out bed) to accommodate an extra person. The main bed is a king-size with a slatted base and a soft reflex foam mattress. The bedlinen is 100% Egyptian cotton. We now have a new TV for the room and a music system with a cable to plug in your phone/ipod. There is a DVD player in the room.
This is a fantastic setting for a holiday with the gorgeous and wild beaches of East Devon and West Dorset on the doorstep, the outstanding Jurassic Coast with its National Trust walks, fossil hunting, fishing, sailing and kayaking opportunities, and a huge network of footpaths and bridleways immediately accessible from the house. It is also foodie heaven. River Cottage HQ at Park Farm is just the other side of the woods and can be reached by road or on foot. It's about 30/40 mins walk up the lane and through the woods. The more informal River Cottage Canteen is just 2 miles away in Axminster. In Lyme Regis (also 2 miles) is Mark Hix's Oyster House with knock-out views across the bay to Portland and also the Harbour Inn right on the front which does fantastic fish and has a seating area on the beach. There are lots of lovely bakeries and coffee spots, a theatre and many quirky independent shops. Lyme Regis, Axminster, Bridport and Seaton are all great little towns with their own characters.
  • Lovely welcoming hosts, great premises and will definitely visit again.

    Matt2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, peaceful woodland spot. (We saw 17 different species of garden birds in just three days)! Perfect for a peaceful retreat away from the busy world.

    Harry2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Tucked away up a bumpy road lays a set of grand gates that open automatically on your arrival. As you drive through the gates be careful of the centre piece gate stopper, if your car is low, otherwise you'll hear the same noise we did! There was plenty of space to park our car and Chris was very kind and showed us where our accommodation was, giving us a brief explanation of how to use the facilities. He also was able to tell us how to find our way into Lyme Regis on foot with a recomendation of a great coffee shop. We enjoyed our stay....Thank you.

    Abi2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning and stylish studio, good value for money and kind hosts. We loved it and we will be back when we can. The space is bigger than it looks in photos and peaceful. We woke up and watched birds and squirrels out the window. Great time out for busy people!!

  • A superbly equipped haven in beautiful surroundings with thoughtful and generous hosts.

    Suzy2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy and comfortable hideaway up the hill from Yawl. A great location for exploring the surrounding woodlands, or a walk down to Lyme. The small kitchen has all you need and there were complimentary biscuits and milk. Recommended. Thanks Jules and Chris

    Carl2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, bright and modern. A warm welcome from beginning to end. Chris & Jules live in a beautiful part of the country :) Would stay here again!

    Lucy2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a glorious place to stay in a fabulous setting. Jules was really helpful explaining the walks and chris surpassed all expectation by helping to start my dead car. The place was so pretty and spotless and the sauna was a great extra which I took advantage of. If you were staying right in Lyme you might never discover the wonderful river lym walk that I went on to get into town following the river until it reached the Lyme mill. A truly wonderful autumn retreat!

Perfect rural location for an 'away from it all' holiday. Swallows cabin has stunning views and is very private, with it's own enclosed garden bordering fields in which our horses graze. Ideal couples hideaway with use of heated pool (1st May to end Sept) shared with a small number of other guests, tennis court, croquet lawn and games room. Well behaved dogs are welcome and there are lovely walks all around. There is a small charge of £20 per pet, payable when you arrive.
The cabin is very well equipped and there will be a welcome pack of basic food, household and toiletry items left for your arrival. There is an electric 'log burner' in the living area and two other electric heaters, making it very cosy and well insulated during the cooler months. A side store houses the washing machine, airer and refuse and re-cycling. Free Wifi
The Coly Valley is such a special area and with so much to see and do! Colyton is a delightful small historic town and a Tramway runs from here along the Axe River through the Seaton Wildlife reserve and down to the coast. The East Devon way is accessible about quarter of a mile away and takes you through fields, along the Coly River and into Colyton and beyond.
  • Spent 4 nights at this cozy lodge as we were down for the Grizzly. Gordon showed us round and left us to it for our stay, which is just how we like it. We arrived to the fridge stocked with the essentials, which was very much appreciated. Very secluded Lodge with beautiful views and only a short drive to the beach. Thankyou for having us!

    Emma2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very comfortable, clean and warm cabin. Very experienced hosts whom seem to have thought of everything to make a stay perfect.

  • This little cabin was a cosy and quiet little escape for us and our dog. We enjoyed our post Christmas time together and went on many walks in the surrounding area. Comms with the host was good and the place was clean with great waste disposal options! Highly recommend !

  • Such an amazing and magical place to stay come rain or shine! Most luxurious and cosy cabin with everything you need! I could easily live there!!! Beautiful surroundings and the beach is only 10mins drive away. The hosts are lovely people, accommodating and a pleasure to have met. A perfect holiday!!!

  • Such a peaceful cabin tucked away in a beautiful location with all you could need for a relaxing stay. Great hosts and would definitely return.

    Richard2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Really beautiful scenery! Great hosts and a fantastic Air BnB. We visited on a very cold week and the cabin was able to warm up hot enough for us. Was very quite. It’s really easy to get to loads of fantastic places like Lyne Regis, Beer, Sidmouth and Seaton. Absolutely worth visiting, we would definitely go again. This wasn’t a problem for us, but it’s worth knowing that the Wi-fi was very slow and we had no signal on our phones. Could be a problem for some people. Wasn’t a problem for us!

    Charlotte2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Swallows cabin is very cute and cosy with great views and peacefulness to wake up to. You have everything in the cabin that you'll need and lots of information of lacal areas to visit. We had a lovely stay even when the weather wasn't so great, but when the sun is shinning bright in the morning you can fully take in the scenery.

    Jennie2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Liz’s place came highly recommended from my sister who had stayed there in the summer time, and it didn’t disappoint! Cosy cabin in beautiful farmland with lovely local walks, villages and beaches close by. Lovely, relaxing stay X

  • Sharon and David are wonderfully hospitable, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with them. Sharon shared lots of tips about things to see in the local area. I loved the little touches like flowers on the dresser and it was really nice to have a kettle in the room too. I appreciated being able to freely use the kitchen and get brekkie when I woke up. I was out a lot of the day and getting back the option of a warming bath was so comforting. I was also grateful to them for picking me up and dropping me off at Axminster, as well as giving me a lift to Branscombe in the mornings.

    Fredereka2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon is a lovely lady, kind and considerate and keen to make you welcome and your stay a success. The room was clean with kettle, tea and coffee - always a bonus - and I hadn't realised breakfast was included - I'm always starving when I wake up in a strange place so this was a pleasant surprise.. My rather large Spinone was welcomed with open arms (always a bit of a worry when you are travelling with a dog), and was thoroughly relaxed in what was for him a strange environment. I can happily recommend this airbnb to anyone considering staying there. Good to find somewhere so accommodating and at such a reasonable price.

    Amanda2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon was a fantastic host, personable, friendly and flexible. The accommodation was terrific value with lovely extra touches and really convenient for the town. I thoroughly recommend a stay at Sharon's if you need to stay in Seaton, you will not be disappointed!

  • Sharon was very welcoming on arrival, and made sure I had everything I needed. I felt very at home in the house, and loved the added touches of a hot drinks station in my room, and some homemade apple cake as well as some fruit. A very friendly home to stay in, and breakfast included too! A good sized room, a comfortable bed, and a lovely big bathroom - what more could you need?

Our lovely small town of Colyton is well worth getting to know. It's steeped in history and earned it's name as 'The most rebellious town in Devon' during the Monmouth Rebellion. You can learn a lot by visiting the Heritage Centre in the town.
  • Have just returned from Colyton with my two daughters aged 13 and 10. We had a fantastic break and found the Granary to be cosy and set in beautiful countryside. One of the highlights was watching the stars at night from the bedroom skylights. Great location for exploring the coast. We loved Beer and Lyme Regis. We had a thoroughly relaxing few days and can’t recommend enough !

  • Great cottage in superb location! Liz and Gordon are great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. Gordon lent us some local walking maps. The cottage (converted granary next to main house) is deceptively large. Nice ground floor sitting room, kitchen with table and bench seats, then a double room and two singles in a further room which our kids loved. We didn’t have great weather when we were there but the cottage was warm and comfortable. There is a small private fenced rear garden but this is just a small part of large well maintained grounds with tennis court and swimming pool (sadly closed as our visit was in October). Our kids enjoyed the games room with table football, pool and table tennis. Lots of parking is available. The location is great - just off a quiet country lane and, the Jurassic Coast is just 4 miles away. We enjoyed fish and chips, fossil hunting, long walks on the beach and local pubs. Thoroughly recommend.

  • A lovely stay. Perfect for a few days walking. The Granary has everything you could need with lots of thoughtful touches. We would definitely recommend it.

  • We had a lovely stay at Liz and Gordon's place over October half term. They were very hospitable and especially helpful with advice on local walks. Gordon loaned me two maps and also gave us a bag of orchard apples which are delicious! The cottage itself was very well equipped and warm. And the garden, games room and tennis court were a particular bonus.

  • It was the rainiest holiday I’d ever had, but with the outdoor pool and indoor games room there was no cause for boredom. The cottage is situated in a very quiet and peaceful setting with no street lights, so, on a clear moonless night the Milky Way is in full glory. It’s close enough to the coast too, about ten minutes to Seaton and twenty minutes to Lyme Regis; our favourite though was Sidmouth with its charming town centre filled with boutique shops and eateries and only a stones throw from the seafront.

  • Outstanding hosts who were a joy to be around. Gin and tonics on arrival, a fish curry, card games!! If all air bnb’s were like this it would be heaven. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom and dining room. High speed broadband and warm & cosy. Lisa is stunningly beautiful and Her partner a true gentleman. Five stars.

  • Booked this place for a Saturday night stay as it was very near to River cottage HQ, where we were going for a meal that evening. Contacted Lisa before booking to see would she allow us to bring our small dog, which she agreed to as we already had a few reviews that mentioned how well behaved she was. The bedroom was very clean with tea and coffee facilities and a large family bathroom. Would definitely recommend this Airbnb if you’re in the area.

  • A beautiful home and a very comfortable stay. The place is sparkling clean and the bed is a dream. The host couple are very welcoming and I felt safe and secure.

  • We had a wonderful stay with Lisa and her family just before Christmas. The location of their place is excellent - around five mins walk into town. We had no problem parking nearby - most of the time right outside. The house is very homely, tidy and clean. The room we stayed in was great, the bed was really comfy and having a kettle in the room was really useful. We felt very welcome and would definitely stay again. Such a lovely family - Highly recommended!

The St. Nicholas guest-suite, a well appointed and comfortable en-suite is situated on the Hare path Hill, a tranquil setting with lovely country views. Quiet and peaceful yet just five minutes drive from the Seaton esplanade, a central setting for exploring the Jurrasic coast. The cliff views here are spectacular, with Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous era rock formations. There are walking trails in and around the area. Outside seating for the guests and adequate parking. See reviews.
Rural setting with views over the countryside. Quiet location, well-appointed room with tea, coffee and biscuits provided. Seaton is Ideally situated for exploring the Devon/Dorset Jurassic coast with Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Beer and Branscombe, all within easy reach. The River Axe flows through wetlands which are open to the public with lovely walks and bird watching enhanced by a number of Hides overlooking the river and marshlands. Two of the attractions are the Seaton tramway running alongside the river up to the "Rebel" town, of Colyton and the Jurassic centre.
St. Nicholas is situated at the top of a private, shared drive about 200 yds/mtrs from the A3052. From the tree lined drive there are stunning views across the wetlands and the tidal river Axe to Axmouth and Seaton. The electric tramway runs alongside the river, passing the Wetlands and saltings to the town of Colyton. There are a number of recommended pub/restaurants and cafe's in Seaton and the surrounding area. If theatre is your interest then the Seaton Gateway hosts a wide variety of shows and events throughout the year. The Seaton Wetlands attract many species of sea birds, other wild life and very popular with bird watchers and walkers. The Wetlands are free, open to the public every day but a small charge is levied for the carpark. Seaton; being on the Jurassic coast, naturally has its own Jurassic centre, informative, well equipped and child friendly. Seatons cliffs are spectacular with their Cretacious, Jurassic and Triassic rock formations. The Norman Lockyer Observatory (and planetarium), near Sidmouth opens to the public on certain days throughout the year, see the NLO website for dates. This Victorian observatory, complete with the original telescopes, is where Sir Norman Lockyer discovered a new element in the sun and named it Helium. With the low light pollution on clear nights you can see and identify the stars and planets from our garden. Lyme Regis is 15 minutes drive East and the Regency and timeless town of Sidmouth about 20 minutes to the West, Beer with it's 2000 year old quarry and caves and Branscome nearby. Exeter is well worth exploring with it's Roman walls, underground passages and the river Exe, a magnificent Cathedral, (plus the shopping). A 40 minute drive or pop along to Exmouth and take the train as a treat. Gerry and Tess.

It thus offers a convenient base for exploring a range of activities and places of interest in the south west. East Devon is famous for its Jurassic coast. Seaton, which is situated at the mouth of the River Axe(and is only 30 minutes away) also has a scenic golf course and a yacht club. (there are also other golf courses in the area at Monkton and Honiton) It is also famous for its tramway which runs through the Axe valley nature reserve to Colyton. There are other animal centers like Cricket St. Thomas Wildlife Park, Ferne Animal sanctuary and Otter Estuary Nature Reserve (which has a range of birdlife and free fishing)– not to mention places like E xmoor and Dartmoor, the Donkey Sanctuary, the marine nature reserve on Lundy Island and Paignton zoo. Lyme Regis is the ‘riviera’ of the south west, has many seaside shops and eating places and a sandy beach and offers historic walks along the coast and is only a 20 minute drive away. The village of Beer - an ancient fishing village (renowned for smuggling in ancient times) also offers some beautiful coastal walks. The surrounding countryside is particularly scenic and tranquil and there are many lovely local country walks. There is a public footpath from the farm which goes down to the historic pub in Dalwood – ‘The Tucker’s Arms’ which was built in 13th century. ( it is a lovely 40 min walk during the day but not advisable at night ) A map of different walks is provided. Chard reservoir (said to be the birth place of powered flight) also offers a number of walks which are wheelchair friendly. Both Honiton and Axminster have weekly markets with a variety of stalls. Honiton boasts many antique shops and is famous for it’s ice cream shop which is open in the spring and summer, and lace and pottery making. It also celebrates many traditional activities. Axminster is famous for its carpet making and is the home of the River Cottage Canteen. There are many pubs and other eating places such as the well known carvery outside Honiton or one of the many places for Devon cream teas. The area also provides many garden centres, (such as Otter in Ottery St. Mary – the home of Thackeray and Coleridge) and 3 good farm shops(one offering ’Pick your own’), and 2 cider breweries. Places of interest – Durdle Door in the Dorset section of the Jurassic coast; the famous Eden project( only 2 hours away) Taunton,(the town was first settled in Saxon times – approx. 700AD) Dunster and Tiverton castles, Exeter cathedral. For something more energetic, there are a number of activities - like the ‘Landrover experience” and quad biking near Cullompton, Zorbing in Dorchester and water sports in Exmouth(and a sandy beach and model railway!) and centres offering child activities eg. Crealy adventure Park (said to be “a cross between Disneyland and MacDonald’s farm”, and Abbotsbury which provides a farm, gardens(which are lit up at Halloween and Christmas) and a Swanery, and Paintballing near Exeter. Then for those rainy days – there is the Fleet Air Museum and the Haynes Motor Museum in Yeovil and the historic Observatory in Sidmouth (also famous for it’s annual Folk Festival in July) and the Aquarium in Weymouth(URL HIDDEN) Larger Shopping centers – Exeter, Yeovil and Taunton and the Trago center. (near Newton Abbot) There are several notable National Trust properties in this area. Eg. Killerton, Buckland Abbey, Branscombe Bakery, Mill and Forge (Branscombe is also the longest village in the UK), and Shute House. There are lovely gardens like Bicton Park Botanical Gardens, Burrow Farm Gardens and Hestercombe Gardens and other historic houses like Montacute near Yeovil, Dillington House and Forde Abbey.(also famous for it’s Red Ruby Devon cattle)

  • Our stay at Dalwood was perfect! We couldn't of had a better new years eve + day. The pictures do not give the property justice as it was beautiful inside and all the amenities you would need. New years day was extra special getting to meet all of the farm animals. The walk to the local pub was also lovely with delicious food! We visited without a car from London and the commute was easy with a local tesco superstar close to the station and only a short, reasonable taxi ride away to the property. Everything was super convenient and easy without a car. Thank you!

  • Wow, what an amazing place to stay. This was my first time, I've used Airbnb and was pleasently surprised at how great of a gem thia Airbnb is Communication with both hosts, was quick and detailed, and provided me with all the information I needed. Check in was quick and easy, and clear details were provided. The room is very good in size, spotless, quiet and I really liked the small touches such as a smart TV, free WiFi, cereals, pastries, use of a washing machine and a coffee machine. Both hosts messaged to ask if there was anything else I needed and highlighted the maps and information leaflets in the room. Location is great, with a short walk to the beach and a nice (but hilly) walk to Beer. I recommend a cream tea in Beer! The price per night was so reasonable and the sleep was really good! Totally recommend for any couple/individual to stay! Will definitely be returning!

This cosy 2 bed house is very close to the beach, local cafés, eateries, the Jurassic Centre, Seaton town centre and Axmouth Harbour. It only takes a minute to walk to the amazing mile long beach! The house has a nice decor and a friendly feel to it. The house is good for couples, small families, solo adventurers and business travellers.
The property has it's own private entrance and is ideally situated with good, easy access to all amenities. It has a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, freezer and dishwasher and everything you need in a kitchen. There is a washing machine and separate tumble drier and a iron and ironing board should you need it. There is also a high-chair with tray and back cushion. There is a downstairs bathroom with bath and an upstairs en-suite with shower. The lounge has a comfortable corner sofa, dining table and chairs, tv and dvd player, books and a selection of board games. For those winter nights there is a wood burner.
There are other properties adjacent to this one, so guests will need to be respectful of the neighbours and keep noise to a minimum inside and outside of the house. The house is great for people looking for a relaxing break in the area, but definitely not for parties, sorry. There can be some local traffic noise from the town road during the day.

Great location in Devon, also bordering Dorset/Somerset for exploring & only a few miles away from the sea. Ideal for individuals & business travelers. Please note shared bathroom (bath only no shower) & I always have some continental breakfast bits available. Please let me know if you have any dietary requirements. Airbnb helps me to pay the bills and save to eventually renovate my 1910 home, so really appreciate everyone who chooses to stay with me. "Service Fee" is an Airbnb fee not me :)
Colyton Town (although more of a Village) has a Fish & Chip shop, two pubs and two convenience stores - Opening/closing times vary so please check with the businesses directly. Try visiting colyton . co . uk for more information and local events.

A grade 2 listed 5-star converted granary. Bright and airy, with upstairs sitting room and kitchenette, with feature oak beams. Views of the historic courtyard and the Axe River valley. Downstairs is a large double bedroom, en-suite shower room, and built-in washing machine. A sunny area outside for relaxing with coffee or wine. 5 minutes drive to the beach and cliffs at Seaton, 10 minutes to the fishing village of Beer, 20 minutes to Sidmouth, and to Lyme Regis. Close to pubs and restaurants.
The Granary combines modern facilities with a touch of history. Originally part of the Harepath Farm dated 1610, The Granary was rebuilt after fire in 1870, and converted to it's present form in 2004. Set in farmland, The Granary also has good access via the A3025 to the many surrounding characterful villages and sea-side towns.
The immediate neighbourhood consists of the barns around the courtyard, the farm, and a smallholding all accessed via a gravel road. A very quiet area, but with good neighbours available if needed. Seaton and this area of East Devon are known for their lovely beaches, interesting pubs and restaurants, and friendly people.
  • The Granary was warm and comfortable and has been very nicely renovated. Lloyd is a great host.

    Chris2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Granary is a fantastic place to stay. It has everything you need. The fruit and cake were a lovely thought and went down well

    Jackie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We were thoroughly pleased with the standard of the property and cleanliness. The area is of outstanding beauty, we would definitely stay again in the future.

    Steve2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully presented and pristine AirBnB. A great spot for a relaxing escape with countryside on the doorstep or ideally located for exploring the south east coast. We could quite happily have stayed there a lot longer! Highly recommended.

    James2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I spent three delightful days at Lloyd's place and could not fault it. We were looking for a relaxing time to rest and do some coastal walks. We love the area and did the fantastic Beer to Branscombe coastal walk, as well as spending a day in Lyme Regis - all just a short drive away. Most of all, we enjoyed being in the apartment, which is so peaceful, beautifully furnished, snug (with underfloor heating), and extremely well-equipped. Lloyd w could not have made us feel more at welcome and at home. Highly recommended.

    Peter2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lloyd is a great host, really fast communication and the property is lovely. The flowers and welcome cake is an amazing touch!

    Emily2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Obviously the pictures look great but accommodation tops all expectation. Spacious, comfortable, warm, quite, light - all fixtures and fittings are of the highest standard. Terrific value all round. Didn't want to leave!

There is gated off-road parking available for two guest cars. The property is close to The South West Coastal Path and the towns of Lyme Regis, Sidmouth and Seaton. River Cottage Canteen and Restaurant are a ten minute drive away. Axmouth Harbour and the river Axe are within walking distance.
Hazelbrook Lodge was built recently (1996) but has a traditional feel with flint stonework and a large garden. The room is modern, a good size and has a double bed and en suite. There are six steps down from the front courtyard to the private entrance and patio.
Axmouth is a quiet, pretty village which dates back to Roman times. It has a fine Norman church, St Michael's, and has two good pubs whose origins, incredibly, go back to a similar era.
  • Had a lovely stay at Wendy's, the room was immaculate and well presented. Our welcome was warm and friendly and nothing seemed to much trouble. Wendy was happy to suggest things to do in the area which was really helpful when looking for places to eat.

    Harry2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed a night at Wendy's place for the annual Grizzly run, however we would have liked to have stayed longer. The rooms is everything and more from the pictures and reviews, plus it really is immaculately clean. Wendy was a lovely host and even came outside to hold an umbrella when we were packing our car up, thank you!

    Naomi2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying at Wendy’s space. The room is immaculately clean, tastefully decorated and is really private. The french doors leading out onto the patio are a lovely feature and we enjoyed sitting outside drinking a coffee. Wendy is a lovely host and was available to welcome us when we arrived and wave us off when we left. Axemouth is a beautiful little village set in a lovely part of the country. Wendy’s house is an excellent base from which to explore.

    Jack2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • My one night stay at Wendy’s couldn’t have gone better. The room is massive - bigger than most London studios!) - and with a lovely private entrance through the garden. Wendy was so kind to let me put my drenched windbreaker into her dryer. Higher recommended for short stays in the Seaton area?

    Andy2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy's home is amazing! Your own entrance, fresh flowers, spotless room and private bathroom. Wendy is an incredibly warm, helpful host. Absolutely lovely, one of our best stays yet!

    Mira2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Wendy’s! Room was beautiful, very nice bathroom. Very nice pub down the road. And on top of that Wendy was very friendly and had some great tips.

    Amber2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish and spotless room in a beautiful location! Friendly host ensured a warm welcome, offered fantastic communication and was very accommodating to our needs. Would absolutely recommend!

    Eleanor2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The bedroom and the batharoom are very spacious, neat and clean. We can come into the bedroom by a dedicated door. You can park in Wendy's driveway. The house is situated 5-minute walk from two local pubs in Axmouth or a few minutes away from Seaton by car.

  • We had a lovely time, the lodge was spotless and we enjoyed the thoughtful touches like the brownies! Would definitely like to stay again!

  • Such a lovely stay in a beautiful location. A very well presented and spotlessly clean property. Hosts were fantastic- so accommodating and the brownies on arrival were incredibly thoughtful. We would love to return! Would rate more than 5 stars if we could!

    Charlotte2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend this place - beautiful spot close to beaches, nice restaurants and lovely walks. Stylish interior and lovely view. We had a very relaxing stay here.

    Grace2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for a lovely stay .. shame about storm Dennis but we had a lovely time .. the brownies, procesco and dog treats were a lovely touch

    Georgina2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gorgeous little Airbnb; well presented, very clean and all the small touches needed for a perfect stay! We were quite last minute in deciding to bring dogs with us, we let unique holiday stays know but they were slow to respond, which left us worried that Pam, the owner would be unhappy. To the contrary, she was delightful and happily welcomed us and our four legged friends. Pam had made delicious brownies, helped us work the hot tub and gave us tips about the local area. An excellent host!! (Curfew on the hot tub not an issue at all, in fact, fully understandable due to the tranquil surroundings and out of respect to neighbours) We will definitely be coming back!!

    Gemma2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at this lodge, Pam was lovely and had thought of absolutely everything. It was very clean, well equipped, extremely dog friendly and in the perfect location for exploring Devon. The only problem was Unique Holiday Stays (booking agent) were unresponsive when we had questions about our booking before we arrived. We would highly recommend staying at this lodge and intend to return!

A beautifully restored historic coach house situated in the countryside outside the market town of Axminster. The property is only a few miles from the coastal towns of Lyme Regis and Beer and the Blackdown Hills and Dorset AONB.
Guests will enjoy the entire coach house to themselves. The property comes with a fully equipped kitchen, modern bathroom, TV, wood burner, and underfloor heating throughout. The coach house is situated in beautiful grounds including a lake and woods. The Coach House is not suitable for children due to its open plan layout.
Axminster is situated between the Blackdown Hills and Dorset Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The area is renowned for great walks and cross country cycling with many routes beginning from Axminster. Lyme Regis and the Jurassic Coastline are only a few miles away. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage HQ is located just outside Axminster and his Canteen in Axminster itself is a great place for lunch, dinner, or even just a coffee. Lyme Regis is also home to Hix Oyster & Fish House, the celebrated fish restaurant from London. If the beach, walks, or food are not your cup of tea then perhaps antique hunting is... Axminster and the surrounding towns have many antique and second-hand shops. Every Sunday afternoon in the summer months Axminster hosts a generous car-boot sale where plenty of gems can be found. Honiton is only a few miles away and its famous high street is lined with antique shops.
  • Absolutely wonderful stay at the coach house. Stylish, luxury, cosy and warm. Set in beautiful Devonshire countryside, it had everything that we could’ve needed for a nice relaxing weekend away. Host was always on hand if needed, and fantastic communications. Thank you Nicky, will definitely stay again!

    Kezman2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nicky and Alistair's place is truly stunning! It is set back from the road up a long drive which makes the setting really peaceful. Saying that, you are only a 20 min walk (or 5 min car drive) from Axminster town centre. We loved the cream tea waiting for us on arrival (just one of the many little touches). The open plan nature of the property makes it feel really light and spacious. It was really warm and cosy with underfloor heating and a log burner. They have provided literally everything you could want for a relaxing break in the countryside. We loved wandering around the grounds of Sector Hall which feature a lovely lake complete with ducks. We fell in love with the property and would definitely go back for another stay!

  • Great place and sparklingly clean.

  • This was our third visit to The Coach House, which says it all really. Lovely, spacious and high spec with underfloor heating, log burner and powerful shower. Big kitchen with range cooker, dishwasher etc. Quiet location in the grounds of the owner’s house, but separate and private. Surrounded by fields but only 5 mins drive from Axminster. Highly recommended!

    Alex2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Coach House is a lovely and cosy getaway property, and the hosts are very friendly and welcoming. We were delighted with the additional touch of some scones, jam and clotted cream, which was a very nice touch. Our dog Cookie was very welcome and enjoyed walks in the woods.

    Blake2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really lovely place. Everything was the highest quality and spotlessly clean. We loved the huge shower with constant hot water and the large comfy bed. The grounds are beautiful and we were able to spend a lovely couple of hours down by the lake enjoying the Autumn colours.

    Rosemary2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! Were greeted with a smile even in the torrential rain and welcomed into the very cosy coachhouse. Very spacious with everything you could need and more. Our dog absolutely loved exploring the amazing grounds surrounding the accomodation which is kindly allowed. The sun came out for our trip to Lyme Regis which is only 10-15 minutes away and we would happily come back again, maybe for longer next time!

    Matthew2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had an Amazing few days staying at The Coach House. Unfortunately the Weather was not on our side & it rained the whole time, but being in such a Beautiful House in a Magnificent setting, it didn’t bother us (even with 2 dogs). Everything you need is there, and small touches like chocolates on the pillows to handmade soap & fresh flowers was such a nice surprise. This was our 1st time staying in an Airbnb,, I hope everyone else can live up to the Coach House. Thank you Nicky we will definitely be back soon x

There are 2 large bedrooms with one bathroom between them but if you only require one bedroom, the other one will not be let out while you are here, so in effect bathroom is private as both rooms are only booked together if family or friends and you need beds for more than 2 people. Bedroom 1 has a king size bed, triple wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds, a single wardrobe, and a chest of drawers. Both rooms have kettles and tea/ coffee, and a TV, plus bookcases of books. There is an iron and small ironing board, hairdryer and radio clock. There is an extra charge per person for more than 2 people per room. Cleaning of rooms is not included. All rooms are cleaned prior to arrival. Should you required additional cleaning this can be arranged for an additional fee. The property is situated between Honiton and Axminster, and close to the villages of Dalwood, Stockland, Kilmington and Wilmington - within easy reach from the A30. (It is a lovely 40min walk during the day but not advisable at night) A map of different walks is provided.

300 year old thatched cottage is neat, cosy, comfy and quirky - like its owner! Suits anyone wanting to relax, read, retreat etc. To connect to the outside world you will need your own wifi or go 20 yards to the local pub, where you can enjoy a great meal! Take the private path to my garden, which is dog-safe. Small to medium dogs are welcome. Kitchen is compact but fully equipped. Great location for walkers and cyclists; numerous beaches within a 15 minute drive.
Think its quite unique as it’s not a typical renting with everything matching, plates etc., and maybe the quantity of literature gives abit more variety.
Very friendly, beautiful places to walk or cycle, convenient to trains, town and beaches.
  • A wonderful traditional/modern cottage with everything in order and well presented. To feel like a local this place is a must :)

    Simon2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is the cutest little place! Very comfortable, like home from home. Everything there. Tons of books and information. We loved it!

  • Little Thatch is a pretty cottage in a lovely location. We had a very comfortable visit, enjoying the cosy lounge and the warm bathroom! The cottage is very well equipped and full of personal touches. Everything was clean and inviting. Communication with Jane was fast and helpful. There was an excellent pub nearby and it's close to the Dorset resorts. We had a very nice stay in Kilmington.

  • We had a lovely stay in Jane’s quaint thatched cottage. It was just what we thought it would be. The location is perfect for a short stay and we managed trips to Branscombe Beach, Seaton and the Lyme Bay winery and distillery. The neighbourhood around Kilmington has some lovely scenery and walks especially in the woods around Kilmington Hill. Would definitely bring Tim the dog to stay again.

The house is close to Town Center, the beach, great views, restaurants and dining, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love our house because of the views, your own bathroom and a free continental breakfast. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
We have a big garage and garden to store bikes etc. That is no problem if you want to store anything.
This is the largest house on this new estate, its just been completed and is very clean and presentable.
  • Clean and comfortable, good communication, couldn't have been better. Easy walk to Axminster town centre.

  • This is a property that feels just like home from home. Clean, spacious, well equipped and best of all, in a wonderful location. If course being a basement flat there is no view from inside the flat, (these feel the price reflects this) but, it's right on the doorstep for coastal walks and places to eat/ things to do.

  • Highly recommended. Better than we had imagined.

    Linda2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very well located and light flat which sits directly above the gardens and sea front. The flat is kept immaculately clean and has all that you would need to self-cater. There were added extra touches such as a bunch of roses, biscuits and ground coffee on our arrival. Our only observation is that people really do need to have relatively small cars (as was mentioned for this property) as allocated parking is quite tight along with entrance and exit to the parking area. We often found it easier to park on the next road along which had no parking restrictions. This was no inconvenience at all. The flat is ideally located and a truly lovely place to stay.
