    Chantel2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Ginette and her cottage were lovely. The perfect escape for my best friend and I on our child free winery weekend away. The cottage was comfortable, had all the amenities required plus a few additional extras (breakfast, tea, coffee, fire wood) which were all greatly appreciated. We look forward to returning to Kuitpo Cottage one day, and the Ginette for her wonderful hospitality.

  • Ginette’s place is wonderful. Picturesque views all over the house from rolling hills, a big garden and vineyards not too far away. We even had kangaroos hopping through the garden! Great location for vineyards (K1 and Coates are just down the road) and Ginette’s place is so stylish and modern, but with lovely homestead touches.

  • Absolutely amazing venue. We had our wedding at Kuitpo Hall so having the cottage just up the road was so convenient especially with a young child. The pictures don’t do the cottage justice, it’s super spacious with everything you would ever need. Highly recommend and would stay again in a heart beat.

    Michelle2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very peaceful, private spot with fruit trees and berries in abundance, great hospitality, we felt very welcome. Perfect for a few days exploring the hills. big recommend!

    Sam2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tim’s tiny house is a little work of art! You can see that he really has poured his heart into this sanctuary and we loved every minute of our stay there. The property is beautiful and it’s so peaceful and green with beautiful views of the spring outside the window. The house was super clean and has everything you could need to cook and refrigerate your own food as well as plenty of space to eat and hang out as well as a big bed and surprisingly big bathroom! There is complete temperature control, plenty of lights and PowerPoints. The only thing I would say to future guests is to make sure you pack your things so you can carry them easily (e.g backpack / no loose items) as you have to do a little bit of walking to get to the spot. Would recommend this place highly and the host is a really lovely guy!

    Ella2020-03-10T00:00:00Z

Set on 10 acres, half is native bush, where you are welcome to stroll. Surrounded by vegetable gardens with amazing views; Studio 613 here on The Range is a place to stop for a night or relax and regenerate for an extended stay. You're welcome to cook in Studio 613 Guest House. Seasonal vegetables; grown without pesticides. You can also enjoy our Happy Hen's eggs. There are many interesting places to visit in the area - historic towns, forests, beaches and wineries.
Studio 613 is a quiet, restful space. It is separate from the main house. We welcome interaction from our guests and enjoy meeting people and learning about them and where they come from. You have a private terrace to take in the fresh air and ambience whilst having pre-dinner drinks and nibbles or a cup of morning or afternoon tea/coffee.
Studio 613 is in a rural setting. Close to historic towns, restaurants, cafes, the beach and wineries/cellar doors. There are also beautiful forests with walking and biking trails. Pleasant drives to nearby Victor Harbor, Goolwa, Strathalbyn, the Coorong.
  • Sue's place was perfect for a quiet weekend getaway from the city hustle & bustle. The studio was incredibly well stocked with quality teas/ coffee, locally sourced milk& cream. Freshly baked bread and homemade spreads. The amenities were all of high quality & the bed was very comfortable. It was a refreshing change to have no TV & experience the fresh air & gardens on the property. There are so many amazing wineries within close proximity to visit! We wished we could have stayed longer!

    Natalie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed out stay. Lovely hidden Gem in such a quiet and tranquil location. Adequate breakfast provision (continental) provided to fuel the day, including fresh homemade bread - a lovely tough. Nice surprise with a gift for our anniversary. Well located and easy to find. Very private.

  • Lovely hosts in a really nice homely setting

    Mel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • I knew I'd be giving 6 stars before we even left, unfortunately can only give 5. The host was wonderful providing helpful information relating to our specific trip even before our stay, and accommodating in our travel times. The cute little abode is set up with everything you'd need if you wanted to cook, but we were lucky to be provided with homemade condiments and bread for a lovely breakfast. No over the top unnecessary frills, but no skimping on the basics. Simple and beautiful summarises everything about this stay. Other trips have been excessive in one are, lacking in another, or altogether average. This was one of the best stays we've had and highlights what AirBnB should be about.

    Bryce2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A stay at 613 on Range Road The Range is a delightful experience Surrounded by rustic/ formal gardens in a gentle valley we felt miles away from the city🤗 Spotlessly clean with the BEST bed - we as an ageing couple settled in well. It is quite a small abode with a tiny bathroom - you might want to bring plenty of reading matter as there is no TV and Wi Fi is weak There’s no microwave oven But found 2 electric frypans in cupboard .. Homemade bread and garden fruit was fabulous - our hosts were very hospitable and friendly - and they have chickens 🐔 in a run in the garden - close to McLaren Vale and Willunga - great foods and wines to be had. Lovely short holiday.

    Patricia2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Dougs studio is glorious. In Amongst some of the the most pristine greenery and nature McLarenvale has to offer. Incredible location, close to everything, yet still feels like a peaceful oasis. We were spoiled with some home made bread, fresh laid eggs, home grown fruits and some homemade preserves. It was a real treat. I’ve never tasted such juicy nectarines. The bed was wonderfully comfy and we woke up each morning to the pleasant sound of chirping birds. Can’t recommend Sue and Dougs place enough for a relaxing stay in McLarenvale . Xxx

    Ebony2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sue was an incredibly warm and welcoming host, made the most exquisite home made bread and had such a wide spread for the provided breakfast. The location was more than ideal and very easy to catch an Uber from. Would recommend to anyone, the garden provided such a peaceful and wholesome setting to relax and enjoy a wine. Would recommend to anyone who was interested.

  • Awesome location so close to the beach! So close that we walked with our paddle boards down to the outlet and paddled out to Port Noarlunga to have lunch 👌 Check in was easy too, we’d happily stay again.

This is an off-grid, self-sufficient, self contained, Earthship studio apartment in the semi-rural Adelaide Hills, 45min drive from the CBD. Guests will experience a unique stay with a tiny eco-footprint. Close to Adelaide Hills wineries, golf course, bush-walks and other tourist attractions. The Freney family live next door in a passive solar strawbale home - close by if you need advice on sailing the "ship". A place where you can experience the future of sustainable housing!
Guests will need to respect the limitations of the off-grid systems for power, water and sewage and take care with the natural building finishes. The queen size bed is a 100% latex futon mattress, low to the ground so it may be difficult to get in and out of bed if you are elderly. Sheets are luxurious 1200 TC pure cotton. Delicious vegetarian breakfast ingredients, including free range eggs and honey from the property, supplied (but not prepared/served). Kitchen includes double gas burner, under bench fridge (with tiny freezer compartment), microwave and wood oven which is great for making pizzas (although not recommended for use during summer months). Fire wood is supplied from May to October.
The neighbourhood is semi-rural with lots of small "farms" where people raise chooks and grow fruit, veg, and flowers. You are likely to see and hear native animals such as kangaroos and koalas. Local attractions include wineries, golf courses, restaurants and bush walking trails.
  • Great, relaxing space! Private!

  • We had a lovely stay at the Earthship. It was great to see how it was constructed and experience a more sustainable living. View was amazing, bed super comfy and the greenhouse a living dream. Would love to stay again.

    Louise2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The earthship was incredible, from the first sight of it the attention to detail was amazing. But walking in doors on a 37 degree day the green house was thriving and the living area was a cool 21 degree. The earthy floors allowed us to feel grounded immediately and relaxed. The food provided was organic produce of the best quality, the bed is of the highest standard to allow a truly enjoyable stay. Great bathroom facilities, the water gets both very hot and cold which is perfect for practicing Naturopathic Hydrotherapy techniques. It was a relaxing property with plenty of wild blackberries to pick. On the second day it was 43 degrees outside but still 21 degrees in the living area. The earthship has an incredible design and we will be going back in winter to see how it functions in the cooler months, The 2 nights was not enough, we returned home to a hot bungalow and wished we were in the cool earthship. Thank you!! We Highly Recommend!

  • This place is a must to stay. Simply AMAZING. Loved everything about it. Loved the wild life that visited including the koala that would visit every day. The views all around are just beautiful. Stayed in Summer would also love to visit in Winter too.

    Sandra2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly unique opportunity to stay in an Earthship and experience how calming and peaceful it is. Learning the principles through reading the information available enabled us to learn and gain an understanding of how clever this system really is. The outlook is gorgeous and the ambience within the building made from recycled and natural materials makes you feel calm and recharged. I loved the rendered walls with their niches and soft corners, the patterns and light coming in through the bottle walls as well as the beautiful coloured glass terrazzo floor in the entrance and the bathroom. We will be sure to spread the word about our experience and are looking forward to bringing some of the principles in to our everyday life. We are grateful for this opportunity and admire the work you are doing to enable ourselves and others gain a deeper understanding of sustainable living techniques through the workshops you run and being able to stay in the Earthship.

    Nici2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic experience staying in this awesome earthship. So different from any accommodation out there and Zoe and Martin have made the place so comfortable and welcoming. I felt relaxed and grounded the whole time and really enjoyed the healthy food provided for breakfast. I highly recommend you go.

  • The Earthship is an absolute dream! Honestly the best Airbnb we have been to, it absolutely exceeded expectations which we didn’t think was possible after ready the reviews and descriptions but it was honestly perfect and wouldn’t change a thing ! I miss the place already, was beyond what I could’ve wanted or hoped for! Thank you for everything, every little touch was perfect. For those unsure, please do yourselves a favour and stay here. You won’t regret it and you’ll be amazed at this unique building !

  • We loved staying at the Top Shed. It was surprisingly comfortable and cosy. The amenities provided was amazing and Dan & Becky have thought of almost everything. Our dog Bagel lived playing with Becky’s two dogs, who were adorable and so friendly. We look forward to returning to stay again soon. The location is also amazing - it felt like you’re really amongst all McClaren Vale has to offer.

  • I arrived at Dave and Allisons after a whole day travelling on my motorcycle, on my trip from Broome. The house was beautiful, very clean with very high ceilings, large rooms and high quality fittings. The bed was large ( king sized? ) with soft sheets and very comfortable. Dave and Alison were the perfect hosts. I had full use of the kitchen, and was able to make a cup of tea. This place was a great find. In the morning you are allowed to cook your own bacon and eggs, using eggs from the farm. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Papershell Lodge is located at our property in historic Willunga. The Lodge looks out toward world class beaches and the McLaren Vale wine region, both only 5 minutes drive away. Papershell is a 9 acre almond orchard in conversion to a bio-diverse food forest and we encourage you to pick your own fruit & veg and say hello to our animals. The Lodge is a beautiful cedar-clad self-contained studio, built onto our homestead. It features a yoga studio downstairs, with the accommodation upstairs.
Wake up nestled in the tree tops to the sound of birds and enjoy breakfast on the balcony with views over the canopy of the orchard right through to Pt Willunga. In late July / early August the almond orchard is in full blossom and looks spectacular! We love to treat our guests with fresh produce from the garden, fresh eggs, our almonds, house-made muesli, baked treats and jams/relishes/pickles - whatever the season brings! The Sun Room on the ground floor offers an extensive collection of things to encourage you to switch off, disconnect and return balance to your life. Try our oils, yoga, reading from our library or playing chess and cards. Head down to The Green House and grab a plant to take home with you. We encourage all guests to plant a seedling or a hand full of seeds! Stroll around the property on any of our walking paths and take in the serenity. Sit in the swing and look up into the canopy of the Claret Ash.
Willunga is a small, regional town within the Mclaren Vale wine region. The town itself is full with character and has lots of cute art and craft shops to potter in, and great little cafes and produce stores. Every Saturday there is a wonderful farmers Market in the centre of the town. It is only a five minute drive from the spectacular mid-coast beaches, and surrounded by loads of nearby wineries.

  • Jessica's place is absolutely beautiful, great use space, very modern and incredible views from the balcony. The grounds are stunning, I absolutely loved exploring the orchard and vegetable garden. Jessica was a very accommodating host, clearly a lot of thought goes into the special touches. The home made bread and organic produce was delicious. Would definitely recommend for a short trip away.

  • You can expect a stunning view and comfortable retreat at Jessica's place. A real sense of escape from the world even though amidst the activity of a working farm. Can't wait to experience the Winter there - we have booked again!

  • Absolutely loved our stay at Sarah's place! Such a lovely host and such a warm environment to be in. The bed was outstandingly comfortable, to the point where we didn't want to get out of it! There is a really nice decking area to relax on and we thought having a fridge, kettle and microwave in the room was a really great touch. The highlight though would have to be Sarah's gorgeous dogs, we fell in love with them and miss them already! Haha All round 10/10 for our stay, would 100% recommend :)

  • Lovely room in a family home. Sarah and her family were very nice and friendly, but also respectful of giving space if needed. The room and other facilities were sparkling clean and very comfortable. Sarah provides tea, coffee, kettle and a mini fridge in the room which is a nice touch. The area itself is quiet, although not a lot nearby, but well located if you wish to explore the nearby wine regions and beachside. There is plenty of information of what to see and do. Thank you very much!

  • Access through the lockbox was easy and great because I didn't know exactly what time I would arrive. I was wonderfully greeted by two beautiful labs! So friendly and just adorable. Sarah's daughter came and greeted me and Sarah arrived home 5mins later. All was just as described. Everything I needed was there. It was a lovely furnished space, big TV, big spacious room....I could just relax. Sarah made me feel completely welcome, explained the situ with shower etc and where to find cutlery and plates if I needed. Also was a 5 minute walk away from take away shops and food. I had extra blankets if I needed and a heater given the weather outside was cold and wet. Great hospitality.

  • Such a beautiful, calming and relaxing stay. The little touches were so special, especially the freshly made bread delivered in a cute basket to your door in the morning. Christy made alterations to the breakfast to meet our dietary needs with no hesitation. The bed was so comfortable. My husband thinks it’s the best sleep he’s had in his life. We loved our stay here!

  • We stayed the Songbird Cottage for 2 nights and enjoyed it very much. It is relaxing , close to the wine country (including a great one minutes away) and is a perfect retreat. Christy is a great host and we would definitely recommend.

  • Christy really is a brilliant hostess! We spend two nights at Songbird Cottage, everything was so well thought of and prepared, especially the breakfast! The cottage itself is beyond our expectation, so cozy and comfortable, we had wonderful sleeps during our stay. There were sheep in our backyard....as they were welcoming us too!

  • Such a great space and nearby to Longview Winery! Only 15 mins from Mt. Barker and Strathalbyn too! Great host and tasty breakfast each morning.

  • This cottage is delightfully cosy and Christy has a hidden flair for design. Although this was at the top end of our budget I feel the cottage still represents value for money. The supplied breakfast was also very good.

  • Beautiful accommodation in a lovely part of the world. Loved our stay.

    Tess2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The ‘Shearing Shed’ is the perfect getaway. It’s exactly as it’s advertised! It has everything you could possibly need. It was clean and smelt fresh. Linen/ bedding was of high quality and that’s important to me. Most importantly was location and finding somewhere away from the hustle and bustle where there’s peace and quietness . Thanks Libby! We would definitely come back!

    Kate & Peter2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was the second time we’ve stayed at the Shearing Shed and loved it just as much as the first. Close to McLaren Vale’s wineries and shopping, you’ll want to make sure you have a car to travel back and forth but it’s worth it for this little hide out among the trees. We woke up to sheep outside our window which was pretty cool, and spent the cold morning laying in bed watching the rain. We’ll always keep this place in mind when staying in the McLaren Vale area.

    Ashley2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING! the best air bnb we have ever stayed in. The gorgeous wood, the homely touches and the outstanding scenery are just some of the benefits to expect from here. We will be back for sure!

  • Elizabeth’s place was so amazing, A perfect spot for a weekend getaway. The hospitality was spot on I couldn’t recommend it enough!

    Thomas2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for something unique and special then you have found it, WOW! The location is nestled away in the south eastern corner of the Mclaren Vale and delivers an South Australian experience away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD in droves. Settle in to this cabin in the vines with spectacular views out of every window, lose yourself for hours contemplating the views. Yet it's so conveniently located to say the Willunga Farmers Market on a Saturday morning to pick up something to nibble on while sitting on the deck, or dinner at the Salopian Inn and of course the fantastic winery cellar doors throughout the Mclaren Vale (our favourites were Hither and Yon, Gemtree, Yangarra and Coriole). This beautiful experience will not disappoint, whether you're local looking for a weekend getaway or if you're travelling to South Australia for the first time and want a real South Australian experience you can't go past Libby's place.

A raw Australian experience overlooking the lush vines of the McLaren Vale wine region. Set on a secluded hill top, you can light a fire in the pit there, watch the kangaroos hop and the sun set over the vale whilst sipping on a local wine. With an Aussie "drop dunny" toilet and kangaroos at you door step we offer an opportunity to get back to nature in a stunning camping spot whilst resting in a comfortable and cosy bell tent.
Tent on a Hill 1 is set on a 10 acre bush and farming block. Guests enter via a 500m long driveway from Bell Road up to Tent on a Hill 1, where there is room to park a car. The bell tent contains a queen bed and houses two guests comfortably. However, we welcome up to four guests if you are happy to sleep the additional people on a thin mattress on the floor. There is no running water but we leave some drinking water in the tent, cutlery, glasses and plates for two, a wine bottle opener, insect repellent spray, and a washbowl and jug (full with water) with two hand towels and soap. The outside bathroom consists of a non flushing dry drop toilet with a hand washing basin (with water jug), camp shower (approx 20L per person) and a mirror. Tent on a Hill 2 is approximately 250m away and out of view. Guests are welcome to book both tents (independently) and can access Tent 2 via a lit walking path on the occasion of large group bookings. Otherwise, the two tents are completely private and do not share ammenities.
McLaren Vale produces some of the worlds most magnificent wines and is located near some clean white beaches. Drop by some wineries for a tasting or lunch and then drive 15 minutes to bathe at pristine beaches such as Maslin Beach, Port Willunga, Aldinga or Sellicks Beach.
  • We loved staying at Tent On A Hill 1 and will recommend it to everyone. The set-up was perfect and the location is stunning.

This is more than a regular Airbnb stay - this is your chance to experience the Australian bushland in a glamorous bell tent. Your chance to 'glamp' - glamorous camp! Nestled in Crafers in the stunning Adelaide Hills - less than a 20 min drive from the centre of Adelaide, we are also a few min drive from the famous German village of Hahndorf. Our beautiful bell tent is the perfect base to visit, Adelaide, the fabulous Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale wineries.
UPDATE If your dates are not available we have a second tent on the property www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/35316483 Set on a 3 acre bushland block (we live in the main residence) our bells tents are furnished to a high standard with new queen beds, luxurious cotton sheets, carpets, rugs, and of course fairy lights. Sit out under the stars and watch out for our resident koalas who visit every few days, the shy echidna who lives near our post box (he's a bit hard to spot!) and of course the kangaroos, possums and kookaburras who like to come out at dusk and dawn. Please don't expect manicured lawns and gardens - this is a little peace of real Australian bushland. A chance to experience nature but still be close to the city. We have a nice, clean camping toilet in its own shed or you are welcome to use our home toilet and bathroom if you prefer. Tents are completely waterproof, well ventilated and we provide you with a bbq, all your cooking utensils and outdoor eating areas (sorry no open fires as it's very dry and it's against the law to have a fire at this time of year in case it starts a bushfire). We also hire our tents out to be set up in National Park Campsites and regular campsites (you choose the pitch and we set everything up for your arrival and take it down when you depart).
We are a 10 min drive from the bottom of the freeway and less than 20 min from the centre. We are a few minutes drive from Mount Lofty Summit (lookout over the whole of Adelaide), Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens (these are beautiful!) and the Cleland Conservation Park (where you can cuddle a koala). The famous German village of Hahndorf is a 10 minute drive - it's a great place to order German beer (or Australian) and eat some good German food. Adelaide city is about 25 min bus ride (we can drop you at bus terminal if you don't have a car) and if you're getting the bus to Melbourne it stops here too! In fact the buses from Crafers can take you all over the Adelaide Hills. The gorgeous beaches of Adelaide are about 25 minutes away. We are surrounded by bushland and vineyards and great places to eat. Quaint villages of the Adelaide Hills including Stirling, Aldgate and Bridgewater (with its historic mill and pretty beer garden by the river) are only a few minutes away. McLaren Vale, the famous wine region is less than a half hour drive too, so with us as your base, you will be able to see so much. Oh yes, I forgot to say that if you are a keen cyclist this area is where the Tour Down Under rides though. So lots of amazing scenery to see on your bike. And a big downhill cycle to the city (much of it on a bike path).
  • We absolutely loved our stay, it was so calming, cozy and peaceful. Its the perfect little getaway to disconnect and refresh! There were so many thoughtful touches as well as wine on arrival, tea/coffee and croisants in the morning! The tent was so cozy and comfortable and we cant wait to come back in winter to make use of the campfire! Alva and Duncan were wonderful hosts and were easy to contact had we needed anything but everything was already thought of or explained to us so we could enjoy our time to ourselves.

  • We had an incredibly relaxing stay on Alva & Duncan’s property. The location is so peaceful and the perfect hideaway spot. We stopped by the local butcher on the way in and picked up some meat for a BBQ and it was just a perfect night to eat in and under the stars. We highly recommend this place!

  • We were the first guests at Keith, so I'm happy to write a longer review. Keith is a warm person and greeted us nicely. He was a little excited, which makes him very personable. The room was nicely decorated. With lots of pillows on the bed. Keith showed us the apartment and told us to feel at home. We could use everything we needed. In between, he asked if everything was OK or if we still needed something. We felt very comfortable there. We recommend Kieth with great pleasure ..

  • We can't recommend this place highly enough, it truly exceeded our expectations! Jane and Mick are such thoughtful and considerate hosts, having left a birthday balloon for my wife & treats for our dog. We only wish we had longer to spend down here!

    Jim2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Superb!! We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend break at the cottage & specially appreciated the thoughtful touches on arrival. The cottage is very well appointed, well located & has lots of extras available. Loved playing yard dice with a glass of wine. Look forward to a longer stay next time. Thanks for your hospitality Jane.

  • Beautiful, peaceful home in an idyllic setting.

    David2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Bundaleer Cottage is lovely - the space is well designed, sparkling clean, and very comfortable. If you're looking for a place to stay to enjoy Mclaren Vale I can't recommend this place enough!

    Scott2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • You can not go past Jane’s house for your stay. The added extras were a welcome surprise when we arrived. She has thought of everything you could need during your stay. My only regret is I could not stay longer to enjoy the house more.

    Georgie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was an exceptional home with amazing amenities and touches. Jane was fab to deal with! Would come back in a heartbeat

    Simone2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we walked in we were in love with Jane's place. It is so nice we didn't really want to go out for dinner and considered getting take away so we could spend more time inside... Just so many nice touches and comforts, the beds were amazing, breakfast with the fresh eggs was delicious, we didn't want to leave! Thanks so much Jane.

    Malcolm2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for a perfect stay in your cottage. I booked this as a surprise for my husband’s birthday and he was very excited when we arrived at the accommodation. All the extra touches made it very special. Great location to stay to explore the wine region and very peaceful.

Snuggle up in our converted shipping container made for two. You’ll love spending time here watching the local kangaroo mob while enjoying a glass of wine on the deck, sitting by the fire pit in winter, waking up to the birds singing in the surrounding garden. Stunning vineyard views, friendly farm animals, an abundance of wildlife. Sink into the luxurious beanbag sofa, read a book or do some birdwatching. Enjoy board games. Switch off. Stargaze under the most amazing sky on a clear night.
Our beautiful space has been expertly converted to create a fresh, modern and comfortable space to hideaway, escape from the world. Sink into our luxurious beanbag corner sofa and read a book, or do some wildlife watching. Lounge on the large deck or go for a walk down the lane koala-spotting. Spectacular views from the large picture window and deck overlooking vineyards all the way to the southern hills with our own regular mob of kangaroos. Sunrises and sunsets are stunning here. Fresh eggs and breakfast items supplied for the first morning of your stay along with some delicious freshly roasted coffee. Incredible rain shower. Air conditioning and heating for year round comfort. This is a bird lovers paradise with lots of bushy garden attracting many small birds and occasionally a wedge tail eagle or two circling above. Some of Australia’s finest coffee is roasted just next door, with tastings available every Sunday in a relaxed and friendly setting. If you stay on a Saturday night please be aware that Dawn Patrol Coffee opens early Sunday morning. We welcome you to enjoy a tasting and delicious morning brew. This means that while a stay at Container65 is extremely peaceful, Sunday mornings can be busy and bustling with activity just next door. If you have Instagram you can follow us and our cheeky animals @container65
We are only a short drive from Mclaren Vale’s incredible wineries and restaurants, one beautiful cellar door is within walking distance. We regularly enjoy many stunning walks through Kuitpo Forest and Onkaparinga River National Park, both close by.
  • Wonderful place to stay. Far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet, but close enough for convenience. Saffy and Dom have a cute little family, and having their sheep, dog and alpaca around was warming. Plenty of wildlife to be seen amongst the vineyards. Close proximity to lots of iconic and esteemed wineries and restaurants, with plenty of nature walks in the Kuitpo Forest. We were lucky enough to be there when Dom was roasting his coffee (@Dawn Patrol, only open on Sunday mornings,) and we were able to smell the marshmellowy process. Saffy was readily available if need be, and provided a handy booklet with things to do and places to go. At first me and my partner were iffy about the eco-toilet, but we quickly got over it and enjoyed feeling like we were helping the environment. Only stayed 2 nights, but wish we could've stayed longer. Highly recommend! Also, try or buy some of their complex coffee - we love going there every so often on a Sunday and i routinely recommend their beans to coffee connoisseurs. Container itself isn't huge, but feels spacious, and the deck provides a nice space to sit for a cuppa or a glass of wine. Must also say - is the most comfortable bed we've slept in anywhere that isn't home.

    Hugh2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location and very unique as expected! Had a wonderful stay during our 2 days there :) Being able to drink the locally-made coffee was a huge plus!

    Nicholas2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend away at Saffy’s place. A unique experience staying in a shipping container in a beautiful location to switch off for the weekend!

    Thomas2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is THE perfect little get away in a beautiful location overlooking a vineyard. So so much to do in the area and a nice spot for a wine on the deck to end the day. Saffy was an excellent host bringing fresh home made bread and eggs on arrival and introducing us to her pets - Alf (alpaca) and milo (dog). This place had everything you need to kick back and relax. Overall a wonderful time spent, definitely recommend! 😊

    Nicole2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Saffy’s place - a very comfortable and relaxing weekend! Lovely touches like fresh baked bread on arrival, and a wonderful view. Highly recommend!

    Chelsea2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely lovely stay, the house was in a great location, Saffy was very responsive and the house was exactly as described.

    Paige2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay over the new year. Saffy and her family were very friendly and accomodating. The views blew us away.

    Hollie2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely little stay, the place was very cute and homely. The hosts were easy to communicate with and brought over a welcome basket of fresh eggs, milk, coffee and home made bread. The place was air conditioned but we unfortunately stayed over a 40+ degree weekend but the place cooled down when the sun set and it was lovely. Was fun to have some animal visitors, a chicken came over to say hello and an alpaca walked past to have a look and a friendly sheep and dog greeted us. The place is very eco friendly which was nice, including a waterless composting toilet which I avoided, although I totally agree with the concept . Would stay again

  • Perfect private hideaway in de hills. Next to a NP where we spotted koalas. You have everything for yourself but when you need something they respond quickly. We had some issues with the car and they even helped looking at it. Would definitely recommend this place!

  • This is what airbnb was all about. Getting reasonably priced accommodation near great parts of the world that don’t have any other way of letting you stay there. Pam was a super host. She bent over backwards to make things work for us.

    Fiona2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Some really nice touches like a good quality coffee machine, fancy tea and a range of cooking appliances. It was very peaceful in the evenings and I was made to feel welcome. Pam is a very quick communicator and will aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

His home is in an amazing location, a short walk away from the beach and a quick drive into town. His hospitality was so generous and we even got to try some fresh calamari Craig had caught that morning which was to die for! We cannot recommend staying at his home enough and will definitely stay with him again when we visit next. Thanks for being an absolute legend! Courtney and Kyra :)
