  • Valerie has a stylish home & lovely garden, all of which she shared with us. Our rooms were comfortable & spotlessly clean with all the touches you might expect in a good hotel. A good full English breakfast was cooked to order & nothing was too much trouble for Val who is a delightful, friendly lady. We would highly recommend a stay at Val's.

The studio is a single-story conversion of an old stable situated in its own garden with panoramic views. The accommodation comprises of a large open-plan lounge/dining, bedroom (all with views), separate shower room, separate fully equipped galley kitchen. The property is heated and the bedroom area has a King size bed complete with a dual electric blanket for that extra comfort.
Suitable for a couple seeking a quiet central location from which to explore the area or parents visiting their children boarding at Millfield, Hazlegrove or All Hallows schools. The studio is very private, situated some distance from the main house and has amazing views of the local countryside and the Mendip Hills. It offers self-catering accommodation and is completely equipped to a high standard. The total space including the Garden Room is approximately 55 square metres. PLEASE NOTE: There is a washing machine which is only available to guests who stay for a minimum duration of four nights . We are sorry but we do not cater for children.
We are central to some great locations. Locally there is the Quarry Inn which is 100 metres down the High Street, as is the local shop. We are also only 5 miles from the small town of Somerton, which lays claim to being the ancient capital of Wessex. We are approximately 6 miles from Clarks Village and the town of Glastonbury, 9 miles from the Historic Cathedral town of Wells and 8 miles from the Somerset Levels which has an abundance of bird life including a Crane Project. Other places of interest nearby may be the Haynes Motor Museum (which has a good restaurant), and Yeovilton Aircraft Museum. We are also only 50/60 minutes from Lyme Regis. The towns of Sherborne and Shaftesbury are a 35 and 50 minute drive away. There are some excellent local walks in the area and we are within easy reach of the Cheddar Gorge and the Mendip Hills (which can be seen from The Studio).
  • The studio is a very restful and homely place to stay. Great to walk through the garden on the way to the studio, it must be lovely in summer but was very cosy for me in winter.

    Rosie2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful stay for a countryside break. Perfect for a cosy day in or to explore the nearby towns. Mike and Pam were also very accomodating

    Samson2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Studio is a great place to stay, clean, comfortable, quiet, with a really well equipped kitchen, literary and DVD libraries. The hosts were lovely and even called when I was a bit late to check all was well.

    Pauline2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We only had a couple of nights in this extraordinary secluded haven, everything super-clean and comfortable, and we could have done with a longer stay. Our lovely hosts, Mike and Pam, were right there when we arrived, ready with a little trolley to wheel our bags down the garden path past beautiful flower and vegetable beds to the studio. We were very cosy - crazy that we needed some heat in the middle of this cold wet June. Comfortable large bed, good wifi, everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. The pub a couple of minutes away had nice beer and good un-fancy food. We spent our days visiting National Trust properties. This would be a good place to do some uninterrupted writing or sewing!

    Sarah2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Pam and Mike are the most accommodating and welcoming hosts. They even helped me get going on my homeward journey after a flat tyre. Well equipped and very private accommodation with everything you would need. Already thinking about my next visit!

    Catherine2019-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to escape from the city! We really enjoyed our weekend, the place is beautiful and it’s a nice area to walk around. Mike and Pam were so lovely and very flexible with our arrival times because we had some delays. Definitely recommend!

  • A pleasure to stay at this very comfortable & peaceful little bolthole ...would make a great writers retreat. Also good for star-gazing!

    Claire2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, can walk to local pub and shop, complete privacy as the studio is located at the end of their very long garden and overlooking a field. Warm and cozy (as my stay was in February) with heating, fireplace, spare heater and heated under blanket. Very comfortable bed with cosy duvet and decent pillows. Kitchen was better stocked than my own home. Plenty of books and dvds to enjoy. The hosts were very welcoming. Best night’s sleep and a lovely hot shower. Would definitely stay there again.

The accommodation is a self-contained annex decorated in vintage style. It includes a chunky pine double bed, pine bunk beds, sofa, games chest, Sky TV, wifi, bathroom (with bath and shower) and a well equipped kitchen with dining table. It fits up to 2 adults, 2 children and a baby. Travel cot, highchair, toys and bedding provided. Between 9-10am (Spring and Summer) daily, we can take you on a tour of our idyllic smallholding where you can feed and pet the sheep and feed and water our pigs.
Although this is listed as 1 bedroom, the bunk beds and double beds are in separate areas divided by a curtain. The TV is in the same area as the bunk beds. This may not be ideal if you’re planning to watch TV after the kids go to bed. It is great in the morning though if you fancy a lie-in!! The accommodation is clean and has been designed as a short term holiday let. It is light and airy by day and cosy by night. It includes every essential but with personality. We want everyone to enjoy their stay, learn more about animals and farming and return home as a friend, not a guest. This accommodation works best when used as a base to explore the lovely local area rather than as somewhere to stay indoors 24/7 particularly if it's fully occupied. The accommodation is designed to be quirky, comfortable and functional. We endeavour to clean and maintain everything to the best of our abilities and we do not charge for cleaning like many other hosts do. If you are looking for somewhere to stay that represents great value and will leave you with a wonderful set of memories, then we’re the place you’re looking for!
We have heaps of places to see, shop at, eat in and generally people watch all within 10-15 minutes drive. Our village has a small farm shop selling essentials or a host of supermarkets can be found in Glastonbury and Street. Our village is particularly beautiful and offers the opportunity to relax, walk, cycle, birdwatch and just enjoy the countryside! We provide a local paper so you can find what's on while you're here. Glastonbury has a beautiful Abbey, the newly transformed Rural Life Museum, wonderful cafes, quirky shops and of course the Tor. Wookey Hole Caves is a favourite for families. Longleat Safari Park and Bristol Zoo are essential if you love animals. If you're into boys toys then head to Haynes Motor Museum or the Fleet Air Arm Museum. Clarks Village Outlet Village is a dream destination for shoppers. If beautiful scenery are more your thing then head to Cheddar Gorge or Stourhead. If you like a bit of history and culture Wells and Bath are both within an hours drive, are stunning and have great shops too.
  • Ideally positioned for Glastonbury. Warm, clean and cosy. Would highly recommend. Would definitely go back. Thanks Libby and family.

Barton Saint David is a beautiful village near to Glastonbury. It is approximately ten minutes by car. The house is situated next to open fields and is quiet and dark at night with no street lighting. There are lots of birds and wildlife around and a big private garden at the rear to enjoy them. If you are looking for a sanctuary space to unwind then this is perfect for you. I work as a Holistic Therapist and have lived here for 4 years. In the Glastonbury Zodiac this is the Libra part ~ peace
This is a detached house on the edge of a rural village. There are lots of crystals and esoteric books. It is full of light with lots of plants. I love colour and comfort and my home reflects this. I offer a variety of holistic therapies. I can do Astrology and Mayan Calendar readings if you seek to expand your awareness. Please message me for more info. I have lots of knowledge about local places to visit and sacred sites. I can recommend other therapists locally too.
The house is detached at the beginning of a cul de sac and opposite the park . There are lots of lovely walks close by. The National Trust house Lytes Cary is a 10 minute drive. Clarke's shopping outlet is 10 minutes drive at Street. Bath and Bristol are within an hour by car.
  • The nicest stay EVER! You & your home was sooo much nicer than staying in a Dingy hotel that would of cost MORE! You made me feel like family & your home is warm, peaceful & clean. You are close enough to motorways & Glastonbury etc. I will come again! Thanks Nicola :-

  • When I reached this JEWEL of a place I’d been traveling in Europe for 5 weeks and I was exhausted from horrible beds and rooms that did not look as advertised. I can tell you the moment I drove into the adorable town I knew it was going to be special. When I arrived I felt as if I was greeted by an old friend. Annette had a fresh loaf of bread for me and helped me with my luggage into the room. When I walked I wanted to cry as the room was so adorable. So many personal touches! Everything had such a homey sense of style. Plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits, cereal, milk, yogurt, fruit and juice! And the butter for that bread was so great! The shower was sparkling clean (as was everything else). The bed was like home. During my 5 weeks of travel this bed was the best!!! But really. Annette and Warren are so sweet and lovely. So helpful with tips. They have a sweet book full of ideas for guests. They even offered to drive me to the pub so I could enjoy the local beer and not have to worry about driving home. ❤️❤️. The BEST! I’ll be back, even if I’m just driving though I’ll stop and say hello!!! Seriously the best Airbnb and hosts I have ever experienced!!!!

A large double room with private ensuite and private outdoor space set to the side of the main house and affording plenty of privacy, with fabulous views of the town and Somerset levels. We don't serve breakfast, but you are welcome to bring your own. There is a kettle, toaster, plates, cutlery and bowls available in the room. Note: We have a cat, but he is not generally allowed in your room. Speak to us if you have allergies. We are also a vegan/vegetarian household.
We all like to think we are unique, so we think our annexe is a rather special too! The room is as pictured, and has in it: A comfy double bed, with clean cotton sheets and duvet. In the winter there is an electric blanket to help keep you extra cosy! A small woodburning stove. Wood and firelighters are provided. (But don't worry, the room does have gas central heating, and a quality oil filled electric heater is also provided in the winter - so you don't have to stoke the fire all night long - unless you want to, of course!!) & Also : bedside tables and lamps, clothes hanging rail, a breakfast bar / desk with two stools (large enough for a laptop!); - and a small cupboard with kettle & toaster (cups, plates and cutlery, and small selection of herbal teas and instant coffee). There is also a selection of hippy, spiritual and eco-living books and magazines to inspire on cold nights. We have good unlimited wifi, the room has a signal booster just outside it too. The shower room is fitted with an electric shower (i.e. unlimited hot water, but not a power shower!); a basin and toilet. Clean towels and the basics are all provided. The room has patio doors onto the outside space, where there is some seating and fab views. There is a carbon monoxide and smoke alarm.
Our house is a 5-10 minute walk from Glastonbury High Street, using a pedestrian shortcut it is downhill there - and uphill back - which might take longer. There is plenty of free street parking outside the house. We are on a hill - which means spectacular views, but also that if you are walking you will need to walk up and down a hill :-) It is lovely and quiet up here (most of the time, though this is Glastonbury so there may be the sound of a beating drum drifting up from somewhere!). There is a small shop / supermarket less than 5 mins walk from our house where you will be able to get some of the basics you may have forgotten.
  • A secluded and peaceful space on the ground floor. Welcoming hosts. Good communication. Great little log fire. Nice ensuite shower. No complaints or issues. Good value for money. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

    Thomas2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gorgeous spot, high up enough to enjoy stunning views, and yet still close enough to the High Street to feel very well connected. The wood burner is such a cosy touch, and the bed (particularly the pillows!) makes for a wonderful nights sleep. Hard to imagine staying any where else in Glastonbury.

    Rebecca2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderfull how Sorita stayed on the phone with my taxi driver to find the house in the dark. Very welcoming people. So nice of them to make the fireplace in de room burn by the time I arrived. Nice clean room, very comfortable bed. Towels, shower gel, blowdryer, tea... everything I needed was there or they were so nice giving me a coffee when I really needed one 😃 Easy going people, open heart, ready when you have questions. I would definately return if I'll ever get back to Glastonbury!!!💗

    Kathy2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • By Oak and Ash's place is just as described. It is on a hill above the town with great views. The room has its own private terrace, with shelter and chiminea that looks over the town and surrounding countryside. The room itself is cosy with ensuite bathroom. There is a kettle to make tea, with a good selection provided. Bed is comfortable. There is woodburner, which, although I did not use it, would be lovely on a chill evening. Oak and Ash are great hosts. Communication was prompt and directions excellent. I would definitely stay here again

  • I cant say enough about how enchanting this space is and how it is situated within magical Glastonbury. I slept so well...best of my journey in England so far. It was beautiful with a private patio and fire hearth to sit by overlooking the town. Savita is lovely and so knowledgeable I highly recommendthis flat Catharine

  • This home is a great find with welcoming hosts. Essentially it’s like being in a little annex with a lovely en-suite and a door directly from the bedroom to a part of the garden. Easy parking on the road and great wifi.

  • What a wonderful place to stay if you want to explore Somerset. Jilly was the perfect host who's attention to detail is second to none! The barn was immaculately clean with everything you could wish for on hand. The location is perfect for getting away from it all yet close enough to explore all of what somerset has to offer. Jilly was a first class communicator and made our journey there and our day trips easy with her local knowledge. We are counting the days to when we can stay again.

This is a single room with private en-suite sink and toilet but next door to a shared shower-room. It is on the ground floor close to the exit door and the kitchen. There is a ramp to this exit door for easy access.
We are a varied household with a range of ages and people from various walks of life. Visitors say the house has 'happy vibes'! The outlook of the room is pleasant especially across the grass. We do our best to keep the patio clear of weeds but they love living here too.
This is a great area for visiting all around. There are a number of places of special interest and some lovely little villages. We are lucky to a have a great pub for meals in walking distance.
  • Stayed a few days and recieved a warm welcome with nothing too much trouble. Room was cosy with comfortable bed. No breakfast but needed to leave early each morning so not a problem. Would reccomend to others.

  • Lindsey's house and gardens are lovely. I was made very welcome in an attentive but unobtrusive way. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean and it was so nice to have an en suite toilet and wash basin. Delicious homemade preserves were on offer at breakfast time - I loved the green tomato and ginger jam.

    Annie2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • The room is very quite and I had a good rest. Lindsey and the people living there were very nice!

  • Airbnb at its best. Fabulous, luxury annexe and Alison is a wonderful host. A stay here gets my highest recommendation. Many thanks Alison.

    Justin2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderfully stylish space, airy and light. Everything was of the highest standard and the hospitality provided by Alison was exceptional. The location was calm and tranquil and close to Glastonbury and its many sights. It was great to have a fully equipped kitchen area in which to prepare meals alongside a separate dining area and breakfast bar. In the evening we were able to chill-out on the spacious and comfortable sofa in-front of a large TV. The bedroom was amazingly comfortable, relaxing and stylish. This is accommodation of the highest standard and we will most certainly be making a return visit when in the area again.

  • Booked this for the week while working away, great stay.

    Jade2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a top notch airbnb. Very well furnished with quality items, lovely and warm (it was December!), very friendly hosts next door who got us a couple of extras items we needed straight away. A lot of thought and effort went into this barn conversion and it shows - we wanted somewhere in a nice village with a 20 minute drive out to attractions so it was ideal. The pub opposite has some life to it with live music some nights which is great. We cooked each night and visited Street, Stourhead, Wells and Langport over the 3 days. Last comments are that the upstairs shower although powerful was pretty hot even when on the coolest setting (thermostat issue maybe) and the bed plus sheets are super comfortable! Lovely.

    Carl2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Really beautiful, warm and cosy place. So clean and tidy. Hosts were lovely and helpful. Plenty of milk and water in the fridge, along with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, cereal, chocolate and even a bottle of wine, such a nice touch, really welcoming. Really loved our stay here would definitely come back.

    Shannah2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy's place is by far one of the best Air B&Bs we have found in the Glastonbury area. It was clean, beautifully and tastefully furnished. There were lots of lovely touches that made our stay really comfortable like wine and drinks in the fridge, coffee and teas ready to enjoy on our arrival. It is located on a small quiet road with a cute and quiet local pub nearby. Lovely area.

    Lee2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot with two big en suite rooms, gorgeous barn decor we felt so cosy and at home. Cindy was a wonderful host, with fresh eggs, milk and a bottle of wine waiting for us on arrival and going the extra mile when we got a puncture, changing the tyre for us no problem! We would definitely stay again!

    Chloe2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and great host.

    Jack2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a terrific weekend at The Barn. It is thoughtfully decorated with a luxurious feel and all that we could need. The communication throughout was excellent and it was all super easy. The location is great for easy access to Glastonbury and Wells, with great views of the Tor from the windows. The pub across the road is lively and friendly with tasty food options and delicious cider (and the windows block out any revelry if you want an early night). We would totally recommend The Barn and hope to come back again.

Comfortable cozy single room in quiet house (twin room also available under listing 'Twin Room in Sunny Quiet House. Glastonbury Town'). 10 minute walk to High street, Glastonbury abbey, bus stops and taxis. Countryside walk to Tor and Chalice Well garden. . Shared bathroom with shower. Free parking. Astrology chart Reading by arrangement. Also can taxi to or from Bristol airport / Train station by arrangement before your arrival.
The room is small but light and comfortable and situated at the back of the house and overlooks my small garden. It is ideal for a short stay. Hot drinks are always available. You are welcome to heat vegetarian food and prepare snacks in the kitchen
The neighbourhood is peaceful and the house situated in a small cul de sac. At the top of the road there is a green space and a children's play area. The Tor and Chalice Well gardens are both a 25 minute walk away through countryside above the town and similarly a 10 minute walk to the town centre, shops, cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. There is a bus stop, shop 2 minutes away. The short route to town does involve using steps but the longer route by road with footpath takes 5 minutes more.
  • Helena is an amazing host. She is so attentive and caring, you feel immediately good as soon as you arrive at her house. The house is lovely, the bedroom was very comfortable, I felt safe and in a soft cocoon there. The cats are also so cute ! Everything is clean, and the bedroom has an addictive smell of clean sheets that I personally loved.

  • Helena is absolutely lovely , perfect host 100%, not intrusive but really helpful , the house is only 5 minutes walking to the town centre. Will definitely book with her again! Highly recommend

  • Very good location, kind host, easy walk (downhill) to town main street and a direct (uphill) walk back. Comfortable room and access to bathroom and kitchen.

  • I enjoyed my stay at Helena, her sense of ease make me felt at home. I also enjoyed our conversation, as Helena is quite knowledgeable about Glastonbury area. The space is very tidy, clean and simple. I also loves her friendly cats!

    Shanni2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • I had been given some last minute time off work and when looking on AirBnB came across Helena’s place. It seemed perfect for a solo trip for a couple of says away, and it definitely was! Helena was quick at responding and great with all of my questions before I booked (including reassurance of car parking spots!). When I arrived, she gave me a warm welcome after driving 5 hours to get there - letting me in, offering me a drink and to sit down/chat before showing me my room and leaving me to settle for the evening. The room itself was lovely, perfect for a couple of days stay - clean, comfortable bed, a lamp for evening reading, drawers should you need them (I tend to travel light). The shower was clean and simple to use. Helena also offered me to keep my milk in the fridge and have use of cutlery, should I need it. The house is only a short walk from the town and right across the road from a local corner shop (which is open late if you need anything!). The only thing I’d say is that it IS uphill so maybe not suitable for those who will be in + out a lot during the days. Helena was lovely and friendly - giving me tips and recommendations for what to see in the town and where I could get good veggie food. But she was also very respectful of giving privacy. There are two cats in the house too, but I am an animal lover so was happy to make friends with them 😸 Will no likely be back to explore some more in the future!

    Vee2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Helena's space is a true oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Glastonbury High Street. Beautifully located on a hill with view of the Tor from a nearby sweet parc. Helena is highly knowledgeable of the area and has many a useful advice. Would surely stay again if my path leads me to Avalon once more.

  • We stayed at the Cowshed from 24th December until the 28th December 2019. When I contacted Jan, the host, to check availability, she replied so quickly and this was the same for every point of communication leading up to our stay. Just before our visit, Jan emailed great directions and they even had a beacon flashing outside the gate, so we knew we had arrived. Not only was the Cowshed extremely clean and lovely, but Jan had put up Christmas decorations and also fairy lights, which was such a welcome site and put us in the festive spirit. In addition, there was a wonderful hamper with fizz, cheeses, oat cakes, biscuits and mince pies, etc. It was a lovely touch. The kitchen and bathroom were so clean and decorated to a high standard. The lights in the bathroom and walk-in shower came on automatically, and the other lights had dimmer switches. The beds were so comfortable and the wardrobes had plenty of hangers and there were chests of drawers too. The under floor heating made it extremely cosy, and the facilities were just perfect. There was an uninterrupted viewfrom every window, we could see the chickens roaming in the paddock and the sheep grazing in the field. For a visit in the summer I noticed plenty of garden furniture and a bbq. We really recommend the Cowshed as a lovely place to stay, and we will be visiting again, soon. Marcelle and Peggy

    Marcelle2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, would stay again!

    Robert2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Cowstall is an amazingly comfortable place to stay with everything you could possibly need. The beds are extremely comfortable with lovely bedding - the towels were thick and large which we loved! The kitchen is well equipped with good quality equipment - having a recycling system was useful to have too. There is a washing machine and dryer across the yard and a hanging area to dry clothes if you don’t want to use the dryer. It was great to see the chickens grazing in the paddock outside the Cowstall - they come running up to the fence when they see you standing there, then quickly lose interest when they realise you don’t have any food for them and that you only want to take photos! Jan had left flowers, fruit, biscuits and milk for us which was a very thoughtful touch, thank you. We would definitely recommend the Cowstall - it is a short drive away from lots of attractions that Somerset has to offer. Would love to come stay again in the future.

    Katie2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Jan's place is a wonderful, tranquil, well put together place to stay for couples of a family. We loved waking up and watching the chickens going out from our window and sitting comfortably with a cup of tea watching the beautiful morning view. The children loved running around in the yard and garden and having a comfortable to themselves. We were close to lots of lovely places - we need more time and want to come back!

    Rebecca2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jan place is fabulous. Stylish, warm and many thoughtful touches. The beds the sofas all very comfortable. Jan has made her olace look and feel special and homely.

  • Jan was very helpful leading up to the trip. She was very quick to reply to questions . Great place for children

  • The Old Cowstall is even more cosy and comfortable than it looks. This comfort is added to by how friendly, helpful and welcoming Jan and Paul are. Our children loved the outdoor space and the chickens, dogs, sheep, swings and outdoor toys. This was a beautiful base in a lovely party of the UK. We will be back. Thank you!

1930's house in residential street 3mins away from the Glastonbury High Street. St. John's church(in the High Street) is visible from the garden.
Guests have their own light and airy room, towels and bedding provided. Outside the house is a large tree. At certain times of the year this can be quite noisy with bird conversations.
My road is parallel to the High Street which contains a variety of cafes, pubs and interesting shops. There is always something going on to keep most people amused. Very close to bus stops that can take you to Clarkes village where you can binge shop if you're that way inclined. The historical city of Wells is 20mins away. Cows and countryside all around. A good supply of large supermarkets and whole food shop and the Beautiful Dorset coast an hour and a half away. Bath, Bristol and Frome approx 40-60mins away. And of course the Glastonbury Festival (6miles away but easily accessed by bus) And more.....

  • I was a bit nervous about staying in a shared house for the first time on Air B&B , as I had always had self contained stays. I need not have worried, I felt instantly welcome, comfortable and at home. Both Yvonne and her lodger are lovely, welcoming, easy going and helpful. I felt like I could completely relax and be myself very quickly, which is unusual for me as I do experience social anxiety, especially with new people. I especially liked the fact that I felt that I could keep to myself if I wished, but that I was very welcome to spend time with Yvonne and Rindert if I wanted company. And they were great company, I thoroughly enjoyed a long chat with Yvonne, who is just a brilliant person to talk to, we covered so many topics!! The house and garden have a really unique and personal touch, lots of lovely art and plants, and a gorgeous Cat. My room was lovely and homely with beautiful artwork on the walls, sparkling clean, really comfy bed with lovely bed covers. Most important thing for me was that I felt very safe and relaxed there instantly. And when I was struggling with travel arrangements Yvonne and Rindert both went out of their way to help me and I felt really supported. I can't reccommend Yvonnes place enough, I had a really, really lovely time and would definately stay again any time. Also it's brilliant value for money!!

Welcome to A Room with a View. Our private guest suite is definitely cosy and small but it's completely self-contained and beautifully formed ;-) You will have a parking space on the drive, your own entrance, a private decked patio, private shower room and ammenities incl: Wifi, Flat screen TV & microwave. The room is an annex attached to the side of my house where I live with my 14 yr old son and dog Nigel. Anything you need, I'm here to help :-)
We live on Windmill Hill, a good 10 minute walk uphill from the top of the High street. If you don't drive, it's a pretty walk but does have some reasonably steep sections, so it might not be suitable for everyone. My house is right next to St Edmund's mound, a very spiritual site with stunning views of the Tor and Chalice Hill. There is also a short-cut to the Tor from here which is useful for visitors wishing to climb the steps to the top and then visit the White Spring and Chalice Wells. It's lovely to be so close to everything Glastonbury has to offer, and yet elevated enough to escape the often crazy Glastonbury energies and have a little peace. The porch is a lovely space to sit in the morning as the birds sing, or in the sunshine of an afternoon or dusky evening, even in the rain as you're completely covered. Or you can always relax inside and watch Netflix, BBC iplayer etc on the flat screen television. You'll have your own key so you can come and go as you please.
We live in a lovely estate on one of Glastonbury's ancient hills. It's walking distance to all local amenities but is above the hustle and bustle of the High Street, making it a reasonably quiet and peaceful place to stay. I do have other children in the house sometimes but rarely in the evenings.

We share this lovely old vicarage with friends who add to the welcome of the house and large garden. We are renovating so there is always something going on though we try to keep it out of the way of guests! The garden is somewhat wild, we do try to keep the weeds under control but they like it here too. There is plenty of parking and we are close to A37, A303, Shepton Mallet Showground, Castle Cary train station all within 10 miles
This is a room that is virtually all bed! There are hooks for hanging the suit and the party dress. Just about space to open your case and comfortable huge bed. There is a toilet and sink en-suite and a shared shower room along the corridor.
It is lovely countryside with just the right hills and levels for cyclists! There is a pub just up the road which serves very good meals and more eating places further afield.
  • Lindsey's place was great. The room was as described, simple and clean. It was lovely to have a chat over breakfast. The house felt very comfortable and welcoming. Birch is a quirky 300 year old cottage. She’s packed full of original features. Birch is perfectly placed for exploring all that Somerset has to offer. Wells, Glastonbury, Street and the Mendips are all within 30 minutes drive. The city of Bath is only an hours drive.
    Birch Cottage is all yours!
Butleigh itself is very quiet. Chances are during the day you’ll hear more horses hooves up the high Street than cars. We are though 5 minutes from Glastonbury and Clarke’s Village in Street. The City of Wells is also an easy 15 minute drive. If it’s walking you’re after you’ll have no problem finding some beautiful hikes.
  • Lovely little cottage in a peaceful village, nice and easy to get to Glastonbury and Street to explore the local areas.

  • Lovely little cottage in a lovely village :-)

    Jade2019-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is 300 hundred years old and the interior reflects this so if modern and sparkling is you’re thing then this isn’t for you. I found the style charming and the log fire was excellent, even in June, because the cottage has very thick stone walls so was cool. We couldn’t find the cottage and had to ask in the post office/shop, who were brilliantly helpful and well stocked. The local pub is worth a visit with good ale and decent pub food, as is the tea room.

    Emma2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is cute and cosy, in a beautifully peaceful location. We had a wonderful weekend. Would recommend and would stay again.

  • Perfect peaceful retreat in the Somerset countryside. Cute village cottage - within easy walking distance of a good pub and short drive to Glastonbury. The cottage has bags of character - and a real wood burning stove for cool evenings and a courtyard garden for drinking coffee [and wine] in the sun.

The Wheelwrights Workshop is located at the end of an old barn which has since been converted into this lovely self catering cottage that sleeps two. Please note currently we are offering this cottage at a reduced rate as outside the main door of the cottage there is another old barn which is yet to be converted and due to that there is a little clutter. Rest assured though once inside the cottage you will not notice it and the bedroom window has views of the Tor our only cottage that does.
The cottage comes fully equipped and clean upon your arrival however I will add there is no maid service offered with these self catering cottages. The cottage is equipped with a kitchen area which includes an oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, toaster, kettle and enough dishes, cutlery and utensils for a fully self catered experience. The upstairs Galleried bedroom has a lovely view of the Tor out the window, a King Size bed and is complete with a view of the exposed old wood beams in the vaulted ceiling. The living room has plenty of seating, a internet tv, dvd player and a gas fireplace. There is also a toilet and shower room in the cottage. The whole cottage has recently been renovated with upgraded underfloor heating, and new flooring throughout. Wifi acess is available in the cottage as well as hard wired ethernet ports.
Glastonbury is a truely unique town, a few of the main attractions would be Glastonbury Tor, Glastonbury Abbey, Chalice well and Gardens and Wryall Hill. All right on our doorstep. If you have a vehicle and dont mind a drive there are many other sites to see, Wells city and cathedral, wookey hole caves, cheddar gorge all being close by to name a few. If you dont mind driving for about an hour things like Stone henge are within reach also.
  • Lovely converted barn perfect for a couple's getaway. Very cosy with underfloor heating, fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher! we were able to walk into town so didn't use the car the whole time we were there which was great. Lovely comfy bed where we could lay and look up at the Tor and when we actually climbed to it the views were amazing. Highly recommend this place and the extremely friendly cat :)

    Lea2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful cottage this really is,not only is the cottage immaculate with everything you could want and more the situation of it right under the Tor is magical. Looking to book again asap.

    Simon2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great base to go and visit Glastonbury from, and beautifully presented! The under floor heating is amazing after a day walking up and down the Tor and around the town! Really can't recommend this place enough, and it comes with a friendly cat who will meow outside your door for tickles! Great stay. Thanks Edd and Kim

    Katherine2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot recommend this place enough. So cosy and perfectly situated. A well equipped home from home. Hosts are quick to respond to any queries and it is very clean. We will be booking a return visit.

    Emma2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely cottage that feels very spacious. It looks exactly like it does in the photos – in fact it looks even better in real life. The view of the Tor when you’re lying in bed is magical. It’s in a great location just on the outskirts of Glastonbury town, at the bottom of the Tor and a short walk from Chalice Wells. You can walk from the cottage door up to the top of the Tor in about 25 minutes at a leisurely pace and via a lovely country lane. I think this walk up is a little easier than the walk up from the town. The under floor heating keeps the place toasty – and we were there during a January storm! It has all the amenities you need – cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffeemaker, hairdryer, fridge with small freezer, TV, plates, cutlery etc. There was some tea, coffee, herbal teas, biscuits and milk waiting for us on arrival, as well as some basics – salt and pepper, and olive oil. There is also a selection of good books and DVDs. The armchair is lovely and comfy and turns into a sofa bed. The shower room/toilet is small but makes good use of the space. There was always lots of hot water and the shower is good. The owners are just across the pathway if you need them but give you your space if you don’t. They responded really quickly to our enquiries and were really helpful on giving us local advice when we arrived. One small thing is that you can hear the traffic noise in the distance – however we live in a place that is silent so are probably more sensitive to this than most people. It’s a lovely cottage in a great location. I’d definitely recommend this cottage and we’d come back here again.

    Deirdre2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Edd and Kim's place has a beautiful view of the Tor, toasty warm underfloor heating, and a very comfy bed. It's perfect for self-catering and I can imagine it being fun coming here with a group of friends staying in the different lodges and camping out on the field!

    Rachel2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Workshop is the perfect location for exploring Glastonbury and the beautiful Somerset countryside. We explored Cheddar and Ebbor Gorge, Shapwick Heath nature reserve, and the Mendip Hills. The space was really cosy - even in January - thanks to the brilliant underfloor heating, and was equipped with everything we needed. The view of the Tor is such a sight to wake up to. We hope to visit again soon.

I am a Kiwi living in the UK , hence the name,Aroha.....meaning Love and Compassion. In Maori, Aroha encompasses the breath of life and the creative force of the spirit, and it assumes that the universe is abundant and that there are more opportunities than people. This room has a lovely energy and is suitable for both long term or short term stays. This is not self catering but I do provide breakfast. It is a lovely peaceful home, so you can relax and/ or explore Glastonbury.
Walking distance to Town Centre, shops, restaurants, cafes. Close to all the attractions, Abbey, Chalice Well, The Tor and nature walks. Very close to the bus stop if travelling by bus. A car park is available to use for one parking space.
It is a quiet neighbourhood and situated in one of the older and original parts of Glastonbury. A 10 minute walk and you are in nature. Lots of lovely walks to discover and also minutes from the High Street.
  • Michelle is a fantastic host, warm, kind and great to talk to. Will definitely want to stay again when I’m in the area. Lovely hidden Gem!

Peony Cottage is one of the oldest properties in the village of Butleigh set within the beautiful countryside of Somerset. Once the home of the Oscar winning playwright Robert Bolt who wrote, A Man for all Seasons & Laurance of Arabia to mention just a few. The village has a local shop & pub all within walking distance. There are some amazing walks with well marked footpaths to Butleigh woods & the Somerset levels with the magical town of Glastonbury just over three miles away.
Butleigh is only a few miles from Street which is where the popular Clarke’s Village Shopping Centre can be found. Glastonbury has a market day every Tuesday & the City of Wells which is within thirty minutes has a market day every Wednesday & Saturday. Both Bath & Bristol are an hours drive away. Also the beautiful seaside town of Bridport in Dorset is just over an hours drive.
  • We chose Steve's place as the location was close to our family event. Steve and Nigel were lovely welcoming hosts, giving us some tips for where to eat in the area. The bed was great, and the breakfast lovely as well. Definitely recommended.

There are beautiful views of Glastonbury Tor as you drive to us and although you can't see them from here, we are literally a stones throw away from it through our back gate and a 10 minute walk into Glastonbury town. The room has a king size double bed next to a triple bunk bed (single above, double futon below) so can accommodate a family of 4 or 5, or groups of 4 adults. Our property is peaceful and spacious with a dining area for breakfast and beautiful gardens you can sit out in and enjoy.
This has been our beautiful home for nearly 13 years. Although you don't have a view of the Tor from the house or garden, there are beautiful views of it on the way to our place and it is only a one minute walk away from the back gate; here in the house there is a real sense of being nestled under its energy. Your room is spacious and comfortable and clean with a King size Bed, a Double bed and a single bed on the top bunk. There's a wardrobe and table, a tv and also a big couch to lounge on. In your private bathroom you'll find a big sink, bath, toilet and a walk in shower as well as a stunning picture of the Tor. The house is quite deceiving in it's size and layout. You'll have breakfast in the dining area below the kitchen and there's also a large playroom next to the kitchen which the children can make use of whilst you're here. The conservatory is a nice place to sit when you're having a coffee or drink. The back gate to Cinnamon Lane is accessed through the garden, up some steps and along the decking. Cinnamon Lane is just across the road from Well-House Lane where you'll find the pathway to the Tor, the White Spring and The Chalice Well.
Glastonbury is an amazing place. I've lived here for nearly 13 years and it still amazes me. There's plenty to see and do. The Landscape alone and the walks you can enjoy here are a great reason to visit. Let me know if I can offer you any assistance in planning your trip. It's super useful having the secure parking space at the front of our house and then the easy access on foot out the back gate - guests can enjoy easy walks to the Tor, Well, Spring and into town from here. I am also a Massage Therapist, and offer Complementary Therapies from the cabin in my garden- Indigo Holistics Glastonbury. Just message me if you'd like to book in for a treatment during your stay. You'll find all of my details online or on fb.
  • As soon as we entered Catherine’s home we could tell it was somewhere special - beautiful artwork and interesting artefacts are everywhere, and the bedroom /en suite was super clean and cosy. My daughter loved the bunk beds, the shower was very powerful and the double bed was very comfy. The house is modern and in a quiet cul-de-sac a few minutes walk from the base of the Tor and the Chalice Well. Both my husband and I also booked an aromatherapy massage with Catherine which was so relaxing and the perfect way to end our break.

  • Catherine’s home is amazing. Location wise it’s a short walk to town. Parking is available on the front drive. The back gate leads straight out to the springs and the start of the walk to the tor. The room is much better than it appears in the photos. It’s a very large light room with sky TV and Wi-fi access. I would definitely recommend staying with Catherine

A light and airy, peaceful single room overlooking Glastonbury Abbey House in a second floor flat on Glastonbury High Street. A great location in a lovely flat, only a short walk to the Tor, Chalice Well and the Abbey. A private bathroom with shower and bath. Hot water, heating, Wifi, a shared vegetarian kitchen with lots of equipment to cook with, teas and coffees. I would be happy to recommend restaurants, pubs, walks, sight-seeing, public transport and anything else I can help with.
A short walk to Glastonbury Abbey, the Tor, Chalice Well etc. Lots of restaurants - local produce, Chinese, Indian, Fish & Chips, Italian. Lots of different pubs and evening entertainment. Lots of shops and lots to see in Glastonbury.
  • A wonderful, cosy place right on the high street, close to absolutely everything that you might need, within a short, walkable distance from Tor, Abbey and Chalice Well.

  • Fantastic location at the top of the high street yet was quiet and peaceful at night. Walking distance from so many of the sites! Glastonbury has so much to offer I was there for two days and the first day I wondered around the shops enjoyed the goddess temple, and meditation pyramids. Whilst the second day I found a beautiful yoga class at a yoga retreat studio up the road, hiked up the Tor and relaxed in the Chalice well. So much more to see I will definitely come back and wouldn’t hesitate to stay with Anna again. Anna was friendly and welcoming. You get a single bed and clean pretty room and your own bathroom - I bought myself some bubble bath from the local shop and enjoyed a soak! You also have access to the kitchen. I didn’t use it but she offered me some space in the fridge to put food and use of the cooking facilities. It’s nicely laid out that your quite private as everything you need is towards the entrance of the flat so you feel like you have your own space.

  • Had a wonderful stay, the location is great (beginning of High Street), I loved to have a bathroom of my home and Anne is a very hospitable and considerate host, would defenitely like to come back!

Betsy is an established holiday let with over 5 years of bookings. Betsy is a Grade II listed cottage and the epitome of tranquillity and romance. Betsy Cottage is a medieval Grade II listed semi-detached cottage which has been beautifully restored. The large bedroom has an ornate four-poster bed and additionally there is a wonderfully comfortable, working antique copper bath in the bedroom. The living room provides a stunning inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove.
Betsy is a charming romantic cottage. The cottage is named after Betsy Birch who lived there around 300 years ago with her 7 children and a lodger! The ancient beams along with the four poster bed in the bedroom make for a rather comforting and dramatic setting. The kitchen is small but is well equipped. Due to its size we can’t fit a full size oven in. The counter top oven though is absolutely fine for basic cooking. Most of our guests tend to head up to the pub which is within walking distance. In the summer sit out in the courtyard and pick grapes from the grapevine. During the winter snuggle up on the sofa in front of the log burning stove.
Betsy is within 5 minutes drive of Glastonbury and within 15 of the historic city of Wells. If it’s shopping you are after then Clarke’s village is 5 minutes drive. There is a great choice of National Trust property’s around and some stunning walking as well. If it’s walking your after then we can supply you with local maps. Butleigh village is very quiet. Don’t expect lots of phone signal but do expect to have the perfect excuse to switch off and listen to the sound of nothing. The village boasts a shop full of well stocked local produce and a Post Office.
  • The cottage was such a wonderful place to spend our anniversary and November felt like the perfect time to be there, with the wood burning fire. The place is absolutely beautiful, so full of charm and very cosy. I loved the window seats! The bed is super comfy and Glastonbury is 10 minutes away by car. We'd definitely go back.

  • Super Quirky, quaint cottage tucked away off the village high street. Great bolt hole for anyone visiting Somerset with Huge feature bath, and large four poster bed. What’s not to like.

  • A beautiful cosy cottage in a lovely village. Lovely, quiet location and very comfy. Fantastic bath and some really homey touches. I was in the area for work, but it would be a lovely place for a quiet summer weekend or even a cosy winter break! Thanks Emma. :)

  • The Betsy Cottage is a very lovely place, an extraordinary bed and bathtub. It was really a pleasure to stay in a cottage with so much history and memories, if only the stones could tell their stories.

  • Some things are meant to be, and finding Mo's place was just that. I was looking for places to stay in the town of Glastonbury, and I didn't see anything that seemed nice enough for the price or with high enough ratings. I saved this listing and continued to look. I was coming to this area specifically for Glastonbury and to get a reboot and I was told that this was the place to do it. I was hesitant about booking a place outside of the immediate town of Glasto, because I kept thinking I wanted to be as close to it all as possible. Let me tell you, I AM SO GLAD that I gave myself some space away from it all! Mo's place was the perfect place to decompress. Distance wise, it's a smidge over 3 miles or about 5 Kilometers, about 6-8 minutes if you're driving. On a side note, If you do have a car, don't fret, you have a nice little spot right in front to park it in. The space itself was so nice, clean, and clutter free. There was a lot of extra space (until I unpacked), but at the same time, it had all the amenities you could think of, and then some. If you're wondering about other things to do while you're in the area, Mo has you covered. There is a box filled with information on surrounding towns and attractions. Whether you're traveling solo or with the kids, you'll find plenty of options. For me, Mo was more than just a "host". She's an incredibly cool and down to earth human being, and I felt it in the vibe of space. Together, they were my beacon while navigating the heavy current, that for me, was Glastonbury. I will always stay here if I ever come back! Thanks Mo!

We have a single room with en-suite toilet. There is a shower room along the corridor. The room looks out onto the garden and adjoining field.
There is plenty of parking. A former vicarage under gradual renovation - there is always something going on but we do try to keep guest areas tranquil! There are interesting features, photos, pictures and ornaments around. The house is friendly and welcoming. The garden is wild and free - we have tried to tame parts of it though!
Within easy walking distance we are lucky to have a pub serving good meals. There are monthly events including live music held there too. There is also a garage with a small supermarket. We are centrally placed to visit a number of places of interest such as Glastonbury, Somerton (seat of the kings of Wessex) and Castle Cary. National Trust properties, Lytes Cary and Montacute House are also close.

Lilac Cottage is close to fantastic walks & fabulous views, the art, alternative & traditional English culture of Glastonbury, Bath, Salisbury, Bristol, Wells and the countryside of the Somerset Levels, Mendip Hills, Exmoor & Dartmoor. You’ll love the cottage feel, the outdoors space, the comfy beds, the village setting, and the stars at Lilac Cottage. It is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and we especially welcome up to 2 furry friends (pets).
Lilac Cottage provides a welcoming, warm and friendly place to stay. The traditional stone built cottage is attached to our 15th Century Thatched House and was originally an outbuilding which was converted many years ago. We renovated in 2001 and transformed it into the contemporary cottage you see today. It provides a light and airy space which is warm in Winter and cool in Summer with cottage gardens wrapped around it. Fully equipped kitchen with a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk & sugar awaits your arrival, along with all the essentials!
West Pennard is a beautiful English country village set 3 miles from Glastonbury set in the lee of Pennard Hill. The village pub, The Red Lion, is set next door to Lilac Cottage and provides welcome refreshments and serves good quality food and drink in a lovely 16th century property. Glastonbury Festival is held most years just up the road from us and brings a world of music & culture to our doorstep.
