The highest village in Cornwall is Minions which is a mere 4 miles from Lestitha Farm on the south east corner of Bodmin Moor, and has a wealth of ancient archeological sites dating from the early bronze age onwards and they are really popular with walkers and hikers, these include the Hurlers, three stone circles dated at around 1500 BC, a line through the centre of them brings you to Rillaton Barrow a large burial mound. Alternatively on the top of Stowes Hill, overlooking Minions, you can see the Cheesering, a natural formation of balancing stones formed during the last ice age and by thousands of years of erosion, the name derives from the shape of the stones and will become patently obvious on viewing! The ancient stannary town of Liskeard is at the head of the Looe Valley and is approximately 12 miles east of Bodmin. Liskeard is one of the few remaining towns in Cornwall to still have a livestock market. It serves a number of small surrounding villages and is the gateway to Bodmin Moor. Liskeard is also the starting point of the Liskeard to Looe railway, one of the most scenic railway trips in the country and a delightful day out! Bodmin Moor, bisected by the newly expanded A 30 is home to one of Cornwall's Areas of Oustanding Natural Beauty. Reaching a height of 1,377 feet above sea level at Brown Willy, Cornwall's highest point. The heather covered granite moorland provides East Cornwall with the most stunning country views and rugged walks. Near Blisland you will find two of Cornwall's stone circles, the Trippet Stones and Stripple Stone Henge and just round the corner, one end of the famous Camel Trail. The 18 mile Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths, providing a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge out to Padstow, eminently suitable for families. The National Lobster Hatchery at Padstow neighbours Rick Steins empire on the North Coast. The Bodmin and Wenford Railway, the first steam operated railway in Cornwall, takes in 13 miles of countryside. Also just outside Bodmin is the Camel Valley Vineyard who have been winning awards for their home grown wine for the past 20 years. The National Trust have a number of properties nearby - Lanhydrock House, Trerice, Cotehele and Antony (used for Disney's Alice in Wonderland), Carnewas and Bedruthan Steps. Slightly further afield is the Eden Project in St Austell. Bodmin Jail built in 1778, notorious for its public executions by hanging, was the first jail to be built housing inmates in individual cells. The Jail closed in 1927 and is now a museum open to the public, which during the First World War housed the Crown Jewels and the Doomsday Book. To the east is the Tamar Valley, a stunning, quiet, picturesque region with some beautiful villages including Calstock with its impressive Viaduct dominating the village, Calstock Quay was originally used for transportation of tin as there is a deep water navigable channel at the top of the tides, although the construction of the Tamar Valley Railway in the early 20th century led to most cargo being transported by rail. Further up stream is Morwellham Quay with its fantastic open air museum, Morwellham Quay has been awarded World Heritage Site status by UNESCO, the cultural arm of the UN, and is part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape. Originally set up by the Benedictine Monks from Tavistock Abbey in 961 as a trading route to Plymouth via the Tamar. Tavistock is an ancient stannary and market town on the edge of Dartmoor and just across the border in Devon, it has a wealth of fine pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and tourist attractions.
  • Relaxation.... Rural retreat, exactly when we were looking for. Within driving distance of amenities. Absolutely perfect

  • My husband and I along with our spaniel Henry spent 4 nights in this cosy barn. Unfortunately the weather was quite bad and we were unable to use the Hot Tub but we made good use of the wood burner in the evening. Highly recommended! The views were amazing and was a great central location for travelling around Cornwall.

    Kate2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely space in a lovely location! The hot tub has a fantastic view and for days when it was wet and cold the fire was perfect. The scones on arrival and tips about the local area were great fully accepted. Everything was clean and tidy and there was everything needed for us to cook as well. Can't fault this place!

  • Fantastic weekend away in Cornwall. The Shippon was spotless when we arrived and Rita was very welcoming offering the traditional cream tea. The hot tub was a fantastic addition to the house and we spent nights relaxing under the stars. Would highly recommend The Shippon for a stay away!

    Nicole2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Shippon and the location was fantastic just what we were looking for. The hot tub was amazing and used most evenings even though the weather wasn’t the best. The one clear night was amazing with all the stars out. Would definitely recommend and would absolutely go back again.

St Mary manner barn is situated in a small, quiet hamlet called Treffany hill in the Cornish country side. The hut is in a steep field on the edge of the hamlet overlooking a valley.
  • Ali was a fantastic host, he talked me through the hot tub and getting there prior to my arrival in case he wasn’t there to meet us. On arrival he showed us to the hut, and talked us through how to light the fires and hot tub. The hut itself is small and quaint, and a fantastic little get away! Just what we needed amongst the chaos in our lives at the moment. I stayed with my partner and two dogs and we all managed to fit. I would say that I over predicted the size of the oven facility so maybe bear this in mind. We walked from the Hut to Looe for lunch and Ali assisted us with lighting the hot tub and was always there as a helping hand. I would highly recommend, great couple nights away and everything was just as described. Perfect host, and hut. Thank you x

  • Great place to stay. Lovely views..Clive was really helpful.the accommodation had everything you could need..

    Jason2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Clive is a great host. Came and introduced himself as we arrived, but left us to it for the rest of our visit. The cottage is a lovely peaceful space, with beautiful views. Would defiantly recommend.

    richie2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful accommodation in stunning location. So relaxing and peaceful, cottage very clean and provided everything you need, host was very helpful. Will defiantly be looking to stay there again.

    Mark2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • As long as you follow Clive’s detailed instructions, you will have no problem finding the parking location and the Airbnb itself. Don’t get distracted by google maps! Once inside, you will find a delightful apartment, just the right size, with all the necessary amenities. Great shower, lots of hot water. Multiple heaters for each room. VERY well equipped kitchen. It’s quite a steep (but short) wall to the town center, so for visitors with mobility issues this might not be the best option - however, it fit our needs perfectly. We had a great trip and Clive is a very welcoming host. Thank you Clive!

    Drew2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Clive’s place is in a good location with great views of Looe. Easy walk to everything.

    Lisa2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Clive answered every question and went the extra mile to make sure we had all we needed for a great stay. His cottage was well equipped with even a good washer/dryer, which we took advantage of. Looe proved to be an ideal location from which to explore Cornwall. Weather prevented us from doing the entire coastal walk to Polperro, but even the first part as far as the first big climb was spectacular. We would return to Little Pudding Cottage without hesitation.

    Kevin2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Clive’s place. Ideal for exploring looe and great views from the balcony. Highly recommended!

    Darryl2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Clive's place! It had amazing views of Looe and the water! We were celebrating our honeymoon and he even went above and beyond with a bottle of bubbly. Thank you again Clive : )

  • An all round amazing little getaway. Perfect for a couple, small family or friends.

    Alice2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Clara's Cottage is lovely, tucked away but only to short walk to the town. We stayed for a long weekend in March, and were made to feel very welcome both by the care and attention paid by our hosts in preparing the cottage for our stay, and by the friendly local people we met in the shops and pubs of Looe. This was our first visit to Looe, and we'll be back. It's a pretty little town, with just enough going on and plenty of interesting places within easy reach. Thoroughly recommended.

    David2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute place :) highly reccommend

    Kira2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect cottage for a stay in Looe. Very comfortable and well appointed. Clara's Cottage has been brilliantly converted and the little extras on arrival are very welcome.

    Jane2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great few nights stay at Clara's Cottage. The cottage is beautiful with all the amenities you need for a Cornish holiday. The little shop and pub down the road are great, you can get all you need if you don't want to walk around to East Looe. Overall we had a great stay and particularly enjoyed the coast path walk to Polperro.

Flawless little studio with everything you would need for a break away from city life. The place was spotless and wonderfully decorated, and every detail had been thought about. Lots of tips for places to go and eat, as well as taxis and takeaway menus. Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better stay, could not recommend enough

  • This was our second stay at Gemma’s property, we stayed in Peacocks Perch this visit. The decor is stylish and everything is so clean and tidy. The room was already warmed up for us when we arrived which was a lovely touch as the weather decided to take a turn for the worst. We only stayed for one night as a little break, but we very much enjoyed our stay, slept well and it is so quiet and peaceful on the farm. A great base to explore what Cornwall has to offer. We even saw the peacocks on our way out which was absolutely lovely. We will definitely be back!

  • Family of 4 absolutely loved stayed here. The barn was just beautiful and we especially enjoyed the big bath tubs and wood burner! Lots of lovely little touches and Geoff even kindly took our daughter to see their horses in the morning. Superb hosting skills, lots of local tips, and the beds were supposed we comfy too!

  • My parents and I stayed at Ann's place for one night whilst in Cornwall to attend a wedding - to be honest we would have been happy to stay much longer! The accommodation is really a home away from home, with all the amenities and comforts you might need. The check in was quick and straightforward and communications easy throughout. This would be a great place for a family or larger group as you can comfortably fit 6 and it would be a great base to explore the area. In short, I would recommend!

    Rosa2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed 2 nights over new years eve at this beautiful home. Ann and Geoff were incredible hosts and provided us with lots of ideas for where to go during our stay, though we spent most of our time simply relaxing in front of the log burner. It's a large converted barn spread over 2 floors, has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on the bottom floor and kitchen, lounge dining area and en suite bedroom in the top floor. All rooms are fantastic, clean, warm, spacious and well thought out. The kitchen is really well equipped, has 2 fridges a dishwasher, fan oven, microwave and induction hob. The lounge TV is massive and has access to Netflix and Amazon video if you're a subscriber. Each bedroom also has a TV too. Lots of board games and DVDs are available for use too. And if you stay, I'd highly recommend a pasty from Barnecutts bakery - absolutely sensational ☺️

  • You will not find a better place to stay with everything that you need and so many thoughtful touches not least the lovely Christmas tree and decorations. You will definitely not be cold here the wood burner is amazing. Thank you so much Ann and Geoff.

  • The perfect base for exploring Cornwall. Ann was so helpful in providing tips for spots for a swim, and places to eat. We ended up in the quarry and with the beautiful fire to come back to the cold winter water didn't seem so bad! The perfect trip!

Foxglove Cottage is our wonderful two bedroom cottage nestled in the most beautiful location at The Woodland Cornwall. It's a lovely traditional Cornish cottage in the woods that was originally built as mineworkers cottage in the 1860s. It has great character and is really cosy. We are in the most peaceful and tranquil location in the heart of the forest but we are only a short drive from spectacular beaches and attractions like the Eden Project. The ultimate ‘get away from it all’ location
Tresarran Cottages are five stone cottages built in the 1860s as mine workers cottages. The cottages were built using slate from the quarry here. They are steeped in history and character. We are deep in the countryside and it's difficult to describe how calm and peaceful it is here. The birdsong is the main sound to be heard. We have over eight acres of grounds and woodlands for our guests to explore. There is a stream for a refreshing paddle, and a stream side walk which is just beautiful - a great way to start the day. We also have a laundry room with washing machine and dryer. We can organise horse riding at a local stables. We love this area, and are always happy to provide recommendations for restaurants, days out etc. We accept dogs.
We are close to: - Looe - Polperro - Fowey - Eden Project - Bodmin Moor
  • A nice getaway.

    Debra2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Charming little cottage in a lovely quiet countryside location close to Looe and Polperro and within half an hour's drive to the Eden Project. Very friendly hosts and the accommodation has everything you need for a relaxing break. Highly recommend.

  • Great location, ...fabulous accommodation... our boys loved the Chickens...we will look this place again I'm sure

    David2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • A brilliant stay, couldn’t of asked for more, the setting was stunning, the chickens were funny, the cottage was cosy, I could of just moved in there and then. Perfect for all.

    Jenny2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Huel Cottage is a Middle-Earthian gem of a place amongst the Tresarran Cottages. Very comfortable accommodation with everything you’d need for a relaxing stay. Herodsfoot is a good base to explore the area with the added benefit of plenty of walks in the forest on the doorstep. Faye is a great host with an obvious wealth of experience in making her guests feel right at home. Very highly recommended.

    David2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely little cottage in very secluded and picturesque valley. The cottage itself was ideal, we staying in Huel cottage and this was clean and tidy with all amenities that you would want. The location is superb for walking with the dog and we didn't leave the site for the 3 days we were there as long walks were possible directly from the cottage. Faye is on hand whenever needed but you are left to your own devices with no interference if that is what you want. Overall the stay was fabulous and I would recommend to anyone that wanted some peace and quiet.

    Richard2019-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Much better than we expected. Some really nice touches to finish the classic countryside retreat. We only stayed a couple of nights but the log fire and the cosy space was exactly what we needed. If we had more time we would definitely make use of all of the local tips and walking trails. Thank you Faye 😄

Come and get away from it all with a peaceful, back to basics stay in a beautiful 12ft yurt on a working organic farm in SE Cornwall.
The Little Yurt (12 foot) is in a peaceful, sheltered south facing field with stunning views over the Looe Valley, situated close to the village of Herodsfoot, 4 miles from the A38. Facilities are basic. There is a double bed and bedding provided but you will need to bring your own towels. There is also a two ring camping stove, kettle and pans, cups, plates and cutlery. The yurt has a wood burner, picnic table and fire pit. A small amount of wood is provided to get you started and additional wood can be purchased at £10 a box. For the more adventurous a hand saw is provided and you can forage your own wood for free! There is a compost toilet and drinking water tap 20 meters away in the same field. There are flush toilets and a shower, plus washing machine and dryer, for guests to use, next to the main carpark, 100m from the yurts. The facilities are shared between all the guests. Please assist us and fellow guests by helping to keep this space clean and tidy. Groups welcome. Additional guests can also camp (bring your own tent) for a fee of £10 per night per person. I grow organic vegetables for a box scheme, so seasonal freshly picked vegetables are available for purchase. Please note there is no electricity to the yurts, and definitely no wifi connection! We recommend bringing a power pack to recharge your phone. Lights are powered by solar lighting only. Please note nature is all around you and this includes spiders and more! Please be prepared for occasional little bugs etc. around you! Remember, We do not provide towels, please bring your own.
  • We enjoyed the peaceful setting -owls calling and shooting stars!- and Mark was a thoughtful and relaxed host. The small yurt is cosy and had all we needed for a long weekend. Close to interesting and varied countryside and coast, towns and vllages.

  • Fantastic value and plenty of space in field. Very relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended!

    Andrea2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 3 nights in the little yurt. We have a great time. The directions were accurate and we found the place no problem, Mark was very welcoming and answered all our questions as we got settled in. The yurt had everything as advertised and the shower, flushing toilets and fridge were easily accessible by the carpark. It is in a good location, we explored the surrounding areas of Looe, Polperro and Fowey.

    Michelle2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • The yurts at Trevalon are wonderfully rustic but well equipped - very impressed with the presence of a cafetiere! Mark's organic farm is a lovely setting, with it's charming development of cabins and structures which house everything you'll need for your stay. Happy to learn of a communal fridge freezer for refreezing our cool box's ice packs and power for recharging battery packs. Lovely place - will be coming again and recommending!

The little log burner certainly packed out some heat, so my stay was very cozy even in the rain. I had an amazing stay, was very fortunate to have the field to my self and option of staying in the bigger Yurt. Mark has his own Organic fruit and veg farm, which I took advantage of. you cant get fresher than that!!! The people I met were super friendly and helpful. Looe is a very popular fishing village in South East Cornwall, split by the River Looe into East & West Looe. East Looe is a little busier with the harbour, fish quays and main shopping centre. West Looe is joined by a very pretty seven arched bridge and is quieter but still has a few shops and restaurants. From Hannafore Beach in West Looe you can view the banjo pier as well as Looe Island, which is open to day visitors during the summer. The railway line servicing the fish quays still runs and is a great way to enter the village from Liskeard.Polperro is just south of Looe and is a much smaller fishing port with many of the streets impassable to vehicles. As with many of the smaller ports on the south coast, their heritage is in smuggling and a museum in the village depicts this. Pilchards were the main source of legitimate income for the village, as well as boat building and at high tide fishing boats still work from the harbour. Talland Bay, situated between Looe & Polperro, has been made popular by Richard & Judy Madeley on TV.
  • A true escape from the hustle and bustle, the Den has a stunning view over the valley, is clean and cosy. The wood burner is pure magic, we thoroughly enjoyed sipping a glass of wine and chatting the night away in front of it!

  • Just returned from a fabulous relaxing few days away for my husbands 40th. We only live in North Devon and didn’t want to travel too far as we were taking our 7 month old puppy away with us for the first time, who doesn’t travel very well! Martin and Wendy couldn’t have been more hospitable and were even happy to arrange for me a balloon and banners as a surprise for my hubby. A delightful cottage with everything you need. Plenty of logs for the woodburner and very efficient storage heaters. 10 minutes either way from Looe and Polperro, which we enjoyed visiting, and a lovely forest walk on our doorstep. Shops and pub locally are very easy to get to and there is also a local community shop! Feel totally relaxed and will definitely stay there again as an ideal location to get anywhere you would want to visit. Thoroughly recommend staying here!

    Lise2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful 6 nights at The Den! The cottage is cosy, traditional and set in a quiet location, exactly what we were after following a manic Christmas! Perfect location for driving into both Looe and Polperro, and exploring further into Cornwall too. Martin and Wendy were great hosts and helped us out with a few extra requests too. Great value for money, we definitely recommend.

    Katie2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Myself husband and our westie have just spent Christmas at the den. The barn was a great little find we throughly enjoyed our stay we had a Christmas gift tree and card left for us by the owner which was a terrific touch to our stay. The barn is small and comfortable has everything you need for an enjoyable peaceful stay . It is in the middle of nowhere so be prepared to drive a few miles of country lanes to get to the destination, we found them not to be busy but quite right in places.. overall a great quiet Christmas . Look forward to going back in the future :)

A friendly residential area, 3 minute walk to the local shop, take aways, and a local pub serving good beer and cider. The centre of town is a short 10 minute walk away, 15 minuets on the way back up the hill, where you can reward yourself with a cup of tea or something stronger and enjoy well earned views. 3 beaches all within a 20 minute walk. If you can’t get everything you need from the well stocked farmer’s market, fish market and various convenience stores in town then the local supermarket is a mere 15 minute drive away. Plymouth is the nearest city, just a 35 minute drive through Cornish countryside.
  • A perfect place to stay for a quiet break. It's a wonderful house with everything you might need supplied, comfortable to live in and beautiful to look at, and with a hot tub looking out over the amazing view - well worth the walk up the very steep hill from East Looe. Looe is a lovely place - bustling and friendly. We'd love to come back and stay again.

  • As a winter break the price and amenities were fantastic. The check in was really easy and the guidance and correspondence from the hosts could not be faulted. We really liked being left to it but knowing we could get in touch if needed. The new hot tub is fantastic and the accommodation is spacious and works very well with cosy relaxing areas both inside and out. The kitchen was very versatile with a large fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and good cooking facilities and equipment for eating in if needed. The location is great with easy parking and very peaceful. The view is amazing especially watching the sun go down in the hot tub...the compromise is the very steep hill to and from the main part of Looe but if you’re not up for the challenge there are plenty of local taxi’s and a local bus to help with the short trip.

  • The bungalow was much more than we could’ve hoped for our winter stay. You would have a great holiday here without even leaving the house! The hot tub was our favourite part, with views overlooking the river. We made use of all the amenities during our stay which all worked well and according to given instructions. For what we paid (winter prices), we were spoiled. It’s an 11/10 from us! Self-catering: bring your oils/sauces/spices etc. from home if you’re making your own meals here as these aren’t provided. Location: if you’re planning to venture out into other parts of Cornwall, be aware that journey times will be a little extended due to navigating around the Looe and Fowey rivers/estuaries.

  • Amazing place, amazing hosts, amazing location AND WHAT A VIEW !! Spending New years eve in Looe is highly recommended for all ages. Especially fancy dress lovers. Thank you for our wonderful stay

  • River view was such a great base for us! The overall decor was beautiful and we loved the style! The beds were so comfortable and we all slept like babies. The travel cot was also so handy and saved us packing ours. We would highly recommend the house to anyone!

    Darren2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great property, everything you need...lovely setting, fab views, quiet location, tastefully decorated...good communication from owners....would highly recommend....

    Alison2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing, clean and spacious home. The views are fantastic and the outdoor spaces are excellent. The home has everything you might need. We were lucky with the weather, so the fans in each room were a Godsend. The place is exactly as you see in the photos, better even. There is a Spar shop about 5 minutes walk away as well as a pub and some takeaways. The views are great but as with most things in life there is a cost to pay. The walk up from the town is very steep. I am 49 and not the fittest and managed it, just! , but if you have mobility issues it is probably a car trip in. But that is Cornwall for you - lots of hilly seaside towns. But, one of the best places I have stayed in and would recommend it to anyone.

  • What an amazing little bolt hole! We had a wonderful few days here, everything we needed in the most beautiful and tranquil surroundings and Faye couldn’t have been more hospitable and friendly. Our four children had the time of their lives, it was just what we all needed. Thank you x

    Kathryn2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most superb few days with you, the cottage was well equipped and sparkling clean. Faye was full of local knowledge and told me all about the beginnings of the site. Your husband (I'm sorry but I cannot remember his name), saw me struggling with the bags and immediately came and helped, Thankyou. To see the chickens running free and to then be able to purchase the eggs for your morning breakfast was really something special. Faye even supplies toiletries as the system there doesn't like some of the non biodigradable toiletries, and do read the toilet paper wrapping, it will make you think, about what they are trying to achieve. We will definately be back to stay, Paul, Diane and of course Rocko, thankyou.

Come and get away from it all with a peaceful, back to basics stay in a beautiful 16ft yurt on a working organic farm in SE Cornwall.
The Big Yurt is in a sheltered south facing field with stunning views over the Looe Valley. There are two other yurts in the same field, White Yurt (sleeps 6) and Little Yurt (sleeps 2). We are close to the village of Herodsfoot. Facilities are basic. There is a King size bed bed and a double futon plus the option of two single mattresses. Bedding is provided but you will need to bring your own towels. There is a two ring camping stove, kettle and pans, cups, plates and cutlery. Each yurt has a wood burner and a cate of wood is provided. Additional wood can be purchased at £10 per crate and for the more adventurous a hand saw and axe is provided and you are permitted to forage your own wood for free. Each Yurt has its own picnic table and fire pit. There is a compost toilet and drinking water tap 20 meters away in the same field. There are flush toilets and a shower, plus washing machine, for guests to use, next to the main carpark, 100m from the yurts. The facilities are shared between all the guests. Please assist us and fellow guests by helping to keep this space clean and tidy. Groups welcome. Additional guests can also camp (bring your own tent) for a fee of £10 per night per person. I grow organic vegetables for a box scheme, so seasonal freshly picked vegetables are available, you will need to order the day before and your order will be freshly picked. Dogs are not allowed in this yurt but are welcome in the White Yurt. Please note there is no electricity to the yurts, and definitely no wifi connection. We recommend bringing a power pack to recharge your phone. Lighting in the yurts is provided by solar powered rope lights. Please note nature is all around you and this includes spiders and more! Please be prepared for occasional little bugs etc around you! Remember, We do not provide towels, please bring your own.
  • Fantastic place quite and with All village facilities

  • Great value for money, basic amenities, great location, comfy beds, excellent host!

    Emma2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • During the terrible weather. I was looking for a last minute accomodation for my partner and his 2 daughters, I didn't want them sleeping in a tent in the storms predicted. I stumbled across Marks beautiful Yurts and although it was abit last minute he couldn't do more for us. Despite he had been busy during the day, he took his time to send me clear directions and prepared the large yurt for us. The accomodation is rustic, beautiful, homely with all the creature comforts needed. Mark was a great source of local information, (even saved us money and leant us some boogy-boards) We will definitely be returning!

    Nicola2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • If you're camping in Cornwall, these yurts are the way to do it. We came well prepared but found everything had already been thought of. We particularly liked that as well as each yurt having their own firepit and bench, there was also a communal firepit and seating to share marshmallows with our neighbours. Our seven-year-old loved foraging for firewood and was safe to roam the area, and we were all cosy and comfortable in the yurt at night. We were in easy reach of enough things to do to keep us busy for a few (overcast) days, so we couldn't have asked for more.

    Lianne2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Amazingly calm, quiet and relaxed. Basic, clean yurts with comfy beds and access to a hot shower. Brilliant host. Great place to stay with kids.

    Luke2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in the big yurt. Mark was welcoming and really friendly & helpful. The site is very peaceful and relaxing, it was lovely to hear all the animals in the surrounding fields too. Our two-year old loved running around the fields and it was so beautiful staying in the yurt. It was a bit too warm to put on the wood burner but we had a lovely bonfire in the evening. The yurt gets light as soon as the sun comes up (which worked fine for us) but you might want to bring a sleeping mask if you fancy a lie in! Everything is provided for to cook with and the bed is very comfy. Looe is a close drive and there are other nice beaches not far away! We would definitely recommend it and hope to return again.

    Poppy2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, quiet location. A totally chilled out place to spend some time. Mark was great, really friendly and helpful. The bed was so comfortable and we all slept so well. Really warm and cosy! We had campfires outside our yurt and toasted marshmallows which we loved as much as the kids. Our children had the best time spent mostly climbing trees. Really great value for money.

    Katy2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! I run a handmade children's brand so spending time online or sat at a machine I love to go back to basics and be close to nature. We got so lucky that the yurt next to us had a family with simular age children as ours, so was lovely that they played together the whole time on site. Having beds ready made to sleep in and the mini "yurt kitchen" made it so much easier travelling with 2 children. We went out and explored Looe beach and porpello, both short drives away and porpello was beautiful! Would definitely stay again soon. My 7 year old would happily live there in the yurt. Thankyou again for having us!

The Sunday School is a beautiful old building situated in Duloe, near Looe in Cornwall. It dates back to 1870, is full of old charm & character, with high ceilings and thick granite walls. A sunny south facing garden, SONOS & a log burner included. Now with Sky Q (recordable) and 40mb Fibre broadband, and a Nespresso machine for those coffee lovers.
  • What a lovely quirky find! We stayed for 4 days complete with our little Yorkshire terrier Audrey and had a fabulous stay. Lots of lovely tech if you’re inclined and clever, personal touches, clever use of space and really lovely to stay in as a couple with a dog. Beautiful location with gorgeous nearby stone circles, sweet little community shop stocking lots of choice and a lovely local dog friendly pub for food in the plough. Good commuting road into nearby looe and lots of other lovely places and beaches. Steve has a great eye for design and is super great at communicating, getting back to you really quickly even when he’s on holiday. We loved it and will definitely be back. Thank you

  • Steve's place was ideally suited for exploring the Cornish countryside and seaside towns. The cottage was well equiped, warm and comfortable. The Plough, in Duloe, was a great place to have dinner and there was a small community shop for everyday items.

  • A lovely, quirky out of the way place to stay and relax. Still within easy walking distance of village pub which does great food and a shop too. Loue and Polperro harbour just a short drive away and great to visit. The Old Sunday School had all the amenities you could need and was very cosy and tidy. Thanks for a fantastic stay Steve. A traditional farmhouse set only 3 miles away from the historic fishing port of Looe. The 2 bedrooms (1 family and 1 small double) have outstanding views of the countryside complete with their own private living room, bathroom and garden. Continental breakfast.
  • We recommend this lovely old farm house to everyone, it’s cosy, homely, the views are just breathtaking. Julie’s breakfast is delicious. So close to Looe for a beach walk, lots of restaurants and lots of shopping.

  • I highly recommend Julia's place. She was very warm and kind all throughout my stay and made sure I had everything I needed. I'd definitely go back to her place if I'm ever around that area again.

  • Tregarland Farm is a hidden gem, close to Looe, but nicely secluded. The host, Julia, is charming and welcomed me with a cup of tea. The farmhouse is really old and interesting, and furnished in an 'olde-worlde' suitable style, and the views are tremendous. My room was really quite large, and the bed was comfortable. I had scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast, but there was a good choice of alternatives, including cereals, toast etc. This is an excellent place to stay for those seeking traditional accommodation, and I would be very happy to return.

    Steve2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Julia is an amazing host who is looking after her visitors very well and nothing is to much trouble. Her place is lovely and on arrival, she offers both hot drinks and food. She makes sure that staying with her is like home from home. This was my second stay and I am hoping to stay with her again.

    Rose2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location...perfectly sited between Looe and Liskeard, with Seaton beach close by too. Stunning views from the room. Julia was very welcoming and friendly and made me feel at home. The room has no heating but equipped with a little plug in radiator which did a good job on the chillier evenings. Bed was comfortable and house and area quiet. Breakfast was a good selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurt and hot drinks. (I'm not a hot-breakfast girl so unsure about cooked offerings). Shower worked fine and wall heater warms the room nicely. A very nice visit!

    Cathryn2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Julia was extremely accommodating. My job is very changeable and Julia made it very easy for me to check in and out when required. She also went beyond what was necessary as a host by lending me riding boots for the day, in case the school I was learning at didn't have any for me to borrow. The property was perfectly located for what I required and the view from the bedroom is stunning. You will get a great night's sleep here and a lovely breakfast.

My place is close to the coastal town of Looe, Deerpark National Forest, and the Eden project. Within a short drive you can access beautiful countryside, beaches, tourist attractions and historic towns. You’ll love my place because of the peace & quiet, village location, beautiful walks nearby, wood fires in winter, sitting out in the garden in summer enjoying the garden and playing table tennis in the games room. My place is good for couples, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
We have a Range for cooking in the kitchen and a wood burner in the lounge for fires should you wish to. We sell wood for £5 per bag or you are welcome to bring your own.
Herodsfoot is a thankful village. All the men from the village returned safely after both World Wars. In the summer we have events such as the Ram Roast, Village Fete, Duck Race and Summer bash on the village green.

We spent most of our time out and about on walks and the cottage was a perfect place to head home to and put our feet up. Thanks Ian - I'm sure we'll be back! Sally, Kerry and Busby the dog.

  • We had a really enjoyable stay at Tricia's-everything is as described with the added bonus of a wonderful host.

  • Tricia is a wonderful host. Loved the cats. Breakfast was amazing.

    Ibrahim2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia goes above & beyond to make you feel welcome & comfortable at her house! I got a little lost at the start trying to find the place, but she was amazing & came to find me in the car to bring me to her house! I stayed here alone & it was perfect for me! & the breakfast in the morning was superb! Can not recommend her any more, & if I ever need to I will be staying here again! Totally deserves her super rating!

    Tash2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really friendly place to stay, just like being a guest of the family like airb&b used to be. Communication was good the Trish was great with helpful suggestions. The stairs are a challenge and I would suggest that less mobile guests read the description carefully. I would be happy to stay again if back in the area.

    Paul2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay with Tricia over new year! She is very welcoming and helpful. The house is very close to the centre of Looe and has lovely views. We really enjoyed our breakfast and making friends with the gorgeous cats! Would definitely recommend staying here!

  • We only went for one night but really enjoyed it, the house has beautiful views and it good location. It's quite hilly getting to and from the house and town so you might need to be quite fit. Tricia was so lovely and made a brilliant host, and the cats were very welcoming too. Great value for money.

    Alice2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia is a lovely, welcoming host & her breakfast is delicious. She gave me tips for the local area & communication before arrival was brill. The room is cosy & warm with a really comfortable bed, exactly as the photos show & like Tricia says in the listing the steps up to the room are narrow so be prepared for a climb. Perfect for a solo traveller on a one night stop over in the area. Thanks Tricia!

    Bethan2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia is incredibly hospitable and the house is in an excellent central location with easy access to restaurants, pubs and shops. We were able to park on the main road over night as we arrived after 6pm though be aware that Looe has hills so it is a steep walk up, though Tricia kindly offered to pick us up. The bed is very comfortable and views from the room are great as mentioned in the listing, the steps up to the room are steep.

  • This was a great spot within easy walking distance of Liskeard Town. The place is well set up with a great bathroom and the woodburner is a real highlight.

    Kim2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a dream place. It is a wooden wonderful house with any comfort but with a preserved sense of essentiality at the same time. The bathroom is huge and with some exquisite details. In particular the shower is big and absolutely modern. The combined bedroom and living room are super comfortable and with plenty of useful things (inter alia, a big desk, a stove, a microwave, boilers, books, kitchenware, several pillows, wifi … and even an plug for foreign electronic appliances). Beds are simply as beds should always be: I slept wonderfully. The garden and the atmosphere surrounding the house make everything perfect. I never found such an incredible place. In addition to this, Gareth is the most fantastic of hosts. A hyper kind, precise, and supportive person. He is also exceptionally discreet but always ready to help or answer questions. I do not recommend this place only, I strongly suggest to go there if you are a respectful person that can appreciate beauty.

The Cornish Tin Tabernacle has a stunning stained glass window, it's own bell tower, cosy wood burner, and underfloor heating, a deep soft king size bed and some gorgeous antique fabrics. This unique romantic retreat has glamorous vintage styling and is filled with lovely old things. On the patio enjoy long views down the valley from the hot tub or beside the fire.
“You know when you book something online in the hope it will just as pretty when you arrive? The Tabernacle and it’s view really exceeded our expectations and really only a Wow!! will do! We didn’t visit many places while we were here, it was just too hard to leave for the day. Thank you Paul and Babs for your hospitality and for sharing this little slice of heaven”. Mark & Michell. July 2018
We are within easy reach of Looe and Fowey, Lostwithiel and the Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. • We had a phenomenally good time despite the storms! Such beautiful scenery, so peaceful and lots of excellent local tips from Paul and Babs! Champagne breakfast was delightful, the hot tub was amazing and the hobbit wood stove was both adorable and warm!! 100% recommended to any looking for a slice of heaven with wonderful hosts and a bit of quirkinesses!!

    Lacey2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

  • This is a truly beautiful and special place. Lovely private location, quirky and well designed, thoughtful personal touches, amazing log burner & hot tub and despite Storm Ciara we had a wonderful stay. Many thanks!

    Martha2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • It's not often a place really exceeds your expectations but the Tabernacle did. Beautifully presented and so different which is what we loved. The peace and the view just beautiful and Paul is a thoughtful and wonderful host. Can highly recommend.

    Nick2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Well the words breathtaking, beautiful, magical, peaceful, restful, happy, perfect all describe the Tabernacle. A visit will leave you with the biggest smile & the happiest of hearts. Paul & Babs are just delightful and really were super hosts. From all my messages before arriving and when we arrived, they were quick to reply. I highly recommend you take Babs up on the offer to walk down to the wood & steam. It was so peaceful. The hot tub was so lovely after a long day out walking and to gaze at the stars and watch the new full moon rise was even more special. I’m already looking forward to booking again. Thank you for such a wonderful place Michelle & Jacqui

    Michelle2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing, unique very special place, an experience we most certainly won’t forget, thank you x

    Lisa2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing few days we had at the Tabernacle... absolutely everything about our stay was close to sheer perfection! Babs and Paul are such wonderful and welcoming hosts. From the first message, they were super accommodating and friendly. Before our holiday, they recommended looking through their blog with lots of local tips and trips. This was the perfect way to get excited for our getaway! Over the duration of our stay, we visited lots of these places, each as incredible as the last!! (Our personal favourite was Angie’s Burger Bar!!) When we arrived, we were greeted by warm smiles, and a friendly wag from Wilson the pup!! The beautiful cabin was clean, tidy and had some yummy treats waiting for us! (Thanks!!) We were given a tour of their beautiful property, and given loads more information about local places to visit. The cabin itself is just stunning... It is beautifully decorated, with some amazing little touches! The shelves have gorgeous little decorations, and lots of really interesting books! I enjoyed looking through the books about British flowers, trees and ferns! Outside of the cabin, the hot tub is a very welcome amenity after a busy day! We also cooked outside on the Chiminea several times!! I could go on about how amazing our holiday was. We were genuinely blown away with everything. A big goodbye cuddle from Babs brought a tear to my eye! Planning our next trip already (and we’re not even home yet!) Thank you for everything! Love from Chloë and Dale xxx

  • Absolutely fantastic cottage located in the countryside! Exceptionally clean, well equipped for self catering and truly dog friendly. It felt very modern and had a high standard of finish throughout. Jacqui was so friendly and super quick to communicate with. This really is the perfect place to stay if you are looking to get away from it all and want to take your four legged friend.

  • A truly wonderful place to stay. Probably the best Airbnb place I’ve ever stayed in. Well designed and thought through with all things you need to make your stay away from home as easy as possible. The little things like having separate bags for recycling and clear instructions about what you need to do with your rubbish we’re perfect and so often overlooked. Water in the fridge in glass bottles to encourage people to stop buying plastic bottled water, Tupperware to stop the use of cling film, and scones with jam and clotted cream as a welcome treat. I was genuinely sad to leave, can’t wait for a return visit.

    Aaron2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic host who went above and beyond. It’s a beautiful and comfortable property with everything you could need for an enjoyable stay.

  • We had a lovely stay with our 2 cocker spaniels. Beautiful setting and we loved the woodburner and cosy bath. Communication was great and we loved the scones when we arrived and the access to top up the wood for the fire. We will definitely be back in the future for a longer stay. Strongly recommend!

    Nicole2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay! Real luxury and especially loved the underfloor heating, wood burner and chandelier in the bathroom! Fab location and perfect for our pooch with its private outside area. Great night sleep even with storm Dennis going on outside! 5 star place!

    Sarah2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place to stay! Little touches and Jacqui was so attentive. The whole place was so well equipped and so cosy. It was a lovely cottage and really can’t wait to stay again!

  • We had the best stay in Alison's gorgeous cottage. It was spotlessly clean with every comfort we could want for. Alison contacted us ahead to ask if we'd like the stair gate and travel cot put up which was a thoughtful gesture. There were boxes of toys and books to keep the little ones busy and we loved the welcome basket with scones, clotted cream, and jam. The cottage was really cosy and warm thanks to the aga and we loved how spacious the kitchen was with views over the fields to the sheep and cows. Would love to stay again one day.

    Kayleigh2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is wonderful. Unfortunately we didn't chose the weather very well, the wind and rain were howling outside but my favourite time was sat down around the lovely warm aga in the kitchen with family. This place exceeded my expectations and perfectly suited our needs. Alison was extremely accommodating with our unexpected late check in, she was very responsive to messages which was extremely helpful when we got a bit lost on the way down. We really appreciated all the little extra touches Alison has done to make our stay easier and the house was immaculate. Highly recommended to all.

NO BOOKINGS APRIL/MAY In Liskeard, but with a country feel. A haven away from busy tourist areas with the advantage of easy access to coast & moors. A 2 minute walk from Liskeard Railway Station & the stunning Looe Valley Line. Perfect for those travelling/exploring by train. The town centre is a 10 minute level walk & still has many independant shops including the award Liskeard is ideally placed for exploring SE Cornwall. An ideal base for walkers with town, country & heritage shops.
Light, airy & spacious. Would describe the decor as vintage with a contemporary vibe. We try to be as eco friendly as possible. Autentico paints have been used through out, duvet covers are Seasalt organic cotton and we use Method cleaning products. Free Wifi available.
Tremeddan is a small terrace of old railway cottages built in the late 1800's. Ours has been converted into two and we have the top floor with its own private access through our private, small courtyard at the back of the terrace. The trees in the lane are a haven for birds who sing away merrily morning & evening. There is no parking, but there's access to the property via the narrow lane and you can stop & load/unload. Be aware it is nicely overgrown and your car will rub againts it and there are some brambles. Please assess the road before deciding whether you wish to use it. On road parking is available & places on the Business Park opposite. As back up there is a railway car park, £2 a day, as yet none of our guests have had to use it.

Its in a perfect location to visit everywhere and although we didn’t use the little train as it was wet and windy, that would be a plus. Denise greeted us on arrival and made us very welcome with practical advice. Its spotlessly clean and we loved the log burner. The little touches were thoughtful and homely like fresh milk and flowers on the table. Can highly recommend it and was cosy and just right for us as a couple looking for a mini break. Located at the northern end of the village of Duloe, and situated in the heart of the Cornish countryside the property is a welcome escape from the bustle of everyday life. The nearest town is Looe a popular tourist destination and beach, and only a short drive away. The historic fishing port of Polperro is a few miles further on, and with the Eden Project a 25 minute journey away.
There is a small community shop/post office in the village that can supply every day essentials, and the village pub is a good place for an evening meal, and only a short walk away. Quite unique to the village is a Bronze age stone circle, that pre dates Stonehenge, the stones being of quartz instead of the usual granite found else where.

Previously named Black Rock Beach Resort after the famous landmark that sits proudly out to sea, Millendreath Beach Resort is the new name for the beautiful holiday resort that sits directly on Millendreath beach near Looe. This hidden gem is nestled in a tranquil valley offering the unique combination of beautiful woodland and its own south facing, sandy beach and boasting one of very few locations in the UK to support a species of native, British Seahorse.
At Millendreath Beach Resort we have plenty of Superior 2B style apartments, which consist of one double bedroom and one bunk bedroom, with full single size bunk beds in the second bedroom. The Superior apartments are located close to the beach front with guaranteed views of the sea. These apartments are suited to anyone and especially popular with families with young children as they love the bunk beds! We have low, middle and high level 2B style apartments, so if you have any specific requirements please talk to us before booking and we will try to accommodate your needs as best we can. Please note: Not all of our apartments are identical, here are slight variations within each of the styles. This is not a pet friendly apartment.
With a private south-facing beach, 65 acres of private woodland and the South West Coast Path running through the resort, Millendreath is a wonderful spot to get away from it all – the perfect base for exploring the best that Cornwall has to offer. Looe is a 5-minute drive or 25-minute walk away on the coastal path. Nearby attractions include the Eden Project, Monkey Sanctuary, Polperro and Looe, two great fishing villages and much more.
