  • Great find! Perfect location and brilliant host. I would highly recommend to others who are looking for nice peaceful getaway.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Sally’s amazing earth house. Even during Storm Dennis, the house was cosy and warm, and really well insulated from the noise of the storm outside. Sally was such a friendly and helpful host, and we felt really comfortable during our whole stay. It’s also in a brilliant location, close to so many interesting places :) a great base to explore lovely Kent from. Thanks Sally!:)

  • Sally made us feel very welcome on our stay. We loved the unique experience and would happily go again.

  • Hi Sally, We had such a wonderful stay. Everything about the house was perfect - and thank you so much for being great hosts. We could not recommend the booking highly enough. All the best, Andrew and Shopna

  • My girlfriend and I had such an incredible stay with Sally and Chris. The communication before the trip was great and we were warmly welcomed by Sally on arrival. The Straw Bale Studio itself is amazing. Despite it being a cold, rainy couple of days in November it was so warm and cosy inside. There were a lot of nice touches and Sally gave us some good local tips including a lovely cafe a short walk away. The place is a 2 minute walk to the train station (we rarely heard trains go past) and then a 5 minute train journey into Canterbury. Don't be put off by the compost toilet - it certainly adds to the experience! We can't wait to stay again.

    Daniel2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sally is a great host, always smiley and available. The place is unique and extremely cosy. Only potential downside is the toilet/shower outside but that, I believe, is part of the experience. Would definitely recommend!

    Nicola2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I had a lovely time in the spiral studio! We stayed on a rainy cold weekend, and it was very cosy and comfortable. Sally was very helpful and welcoming, even though we didn't meet in person. The home is 2 minutes on foot from the local train station, and there are some pretty walks nearby. The only thing I would mention is that the wifi is patchy, so if you are planning to watch films online, best to download everything in advance!

  • Lovely place to stay for a peaceful get away. Sally and Chris are very welcoming.

    Victoria2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Best stay ever! So clean and such a lovely rural retreat. Considering the price of the place it's a real shame you have to pay £20 a day for the hot tub. But apart from that we will definitely be returning!!

    Jesse2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved it! Definitely will book this place more often. Thank you 😊

  • Nikki’s place is wonderful. Immaculately clean, and very well presented. I would love to stay again. As a host Communication from Nikki was timely and pleasant and without delay. Some sweet personal touches included too, her attention to detail was brilliant! Amazing value! Thank you Nikki!

  • Great accommodation! Peaceful, cosy and spacious for the 2 of us. Nikki was great with communicating quickly and for answering questions. Would stay there again!

  • Absolutely amazing. Hot tub was perfect. Had everything you needed. Highly recommend

    Hannah2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • 💕I had such a wonderful stay!! The Coach House is the place you didn't know you needed. Nikki is amazing with her communication and really went above and beyond for my stay. It is the best of both worlds, the character of the historical building it is, but with the modern finish to it. The new kitchen was lovely to use! Definitely book use of the hot tub, I practically lived in it when I wasn't out and about exploring, it was wonderful! Location is great, just a couple of doors down from a pub and not far from beautiful places to visit like Canterbury, Whitstable and Broadstairs as examples. I would most definitely stay here again!! 💕

Formerly a fisherman's pub on Kingsdown beach The Victory is a much loved coastal retreat - in a beautiful and still somewhat undiscovered corner of England at the end of the White Cliffs of Dover and just 1.5 hours from London. The Victory has a Nordic theme inside with wood paneling and painted floorboards. It has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 8-10 comfortably. Please note: weekend bookings require a Friday and Saturday night.
On the ground floor is a bright kitchen and dining room that opens up on to an enclosed patio, only steps away from the wild flowers, picturesque beach-huts and sweeping views of Kingsdown beach. This floor also houses a sitting room with wood-burning stove, a shower room. At this level off the hall there's a bedroom at the front of the house with full size bunk beds. (It also has a cupboard full of toys to keep little ones amused even on rainy days). Upstairs is the master bedroom, a peaceful sanctuary to the adjoining sun room and terrace, a family bathroom, and a second, small double with pretty wallpaper and wonderful sea views. The top floor is a light, fun bedroom with sea views from every window. It contains a double bed and two singles, making it ideal for a second family or more friends. The Victory is walking distance (5 minutes) from the pretty village of Kingsdown - with 3 pubs, a village shop, a butcher and post office. There is a beach promenade, ideal for cycling, that takes you to Deal with its historic sites, food spots and vintage shopping in 15 minutes. Kingsdown is also the ideal haven from which to explore, with Walmer and Dover Castle, Sandwich, Margate and Broadstairs all less than 30minutes away.
With it's own shingle beach, magnificent views of the cliff, cute village shops and no less than three pubs to choose between, Kingsdown is a unique picturesque village on the East Kent coast. Stay put and enjoy the sea; jump on a bike and head into Deal with it's thriving Saturday market, vintage shops and deli's or while away an afternoon in the perfect English country garden at Walmer Castle.
  • Ten tired mums had the best stay at Christopher’s place. There are so many comfortable places in the house to hang out and have some space. We loved the sauna and the lush walk into Deal along the sea front. The house is very beautifully decorated and we would not hesitate to stay there again.

    Erin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • It is such a joy to arrive at an Airbnb and find it as gorgeous in reality as in its listing. The Victory is the perfect seaside retreat for family or friend groups. Our kids loved sleeping together in the top room and the grownups appreciated the practical and stylish living space and the stunning sun lounge upstairs. We all loved the fact that a great pub is two doors’ away.

    Steve2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed with friends, kids and dogs the house was loved by all. We felt relaxed a real home from home. Great place, location and amenities.

  • We loved every second of our stay, the location is superb. The house is beautifully decorated with lots of amenities. Great place to escape and unwind for a few days. I wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much for having us!

    Manuel2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great position, really interesting and thoughtfully furnished house. Ideal for a large family or group. Spent a wonderful weekend celebrating our daughter’s 21st. Birthday for which it was just right.

    Ray2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The location in perfect. We stayed for 3 nights and really felt like we had escaped. We left the house only for sea dips, walks on the beach and visits to the pub. The kids loved the beach and the house is perfect and the decor is amazing.

    Caroline2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place to stay with a group of friends, the house is beautiful with everything you could possibly need - fire & sauna are massive bonuses and there are so many hang out spots that it felt just right for our large group of 10. With the pub a stone's throw away and backing onto the beach the location couldn't be better! Will definitely be back!

    Laura & Tom2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A fabulous home right on the beach, rustic, homely and comfortable. We had an amazing week, loved the decor, the sauna, the walk to Deal, swimming in the sea, the pub next door

Places to visit Canterbury Cathedral Cathedral House, 11 The Precincts, Canterbury CT1 2EE, (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) The Mother Church of the Anglican Communion and an outstanding example of English ecclesiastical architecture. Founded by St. Augustine in 597AD it was the country's first cathedral. The building is particularly renowned for superb examples of 13th Century stained glass windows. Visitors can view the Crypt, the Tomb of The Black Prince and - most famously - the tomb of Archbishop Thomas Becket. The spot where Becket was murdered is marked in the cathedral. The Cathedral precincts are also of interest, as are the medieval streets and Buttermarket that surround it. It's open all year, but subject to regular entry restrictions for services and special circumstances. If you get the chance to visit for a service, take the opportunity - you won't regret it! St Augustines Abbey Longport, Canterbury, Kent, CT1 1PF Situated just outside the city walls, opposite Canterbury Cathedral. In the year 598, Saint Augustine was sent to England by Pope Gregory I, on what might nowadays be called a revival mission. King of Kent at this time was Ethelbert, who happened to be married to a Christian, Bertha. Whether or not his spouse influenced him isn't known, but he allowed Augustine to found the first monastery in Britain just outside the city walls of Canterbury. It was originally created as a burial place for the Anglo-Saxon kings of Kent and is part of the Canterbury World Heritage Site, (along with the cathedral and St Martin's Church). It opens from Wednesday - Sunday between April and June, daily in July and August, and at weekends only for the rest of the year. Howletts zoo Bekesbourne Road, Bekesbourne Road, Bekesbourne, Canterbury CT4 5JL A world-class wild animal park set in ninety acres of beautiful ancient park land. It has a superb collection of exhibits including lions, tigers, elephants, and apes. The park, which was founded by John Aspinall, is also respected for its successful breeding programmes - along with its sister park at Port Lympne near Hythe. Wingham Wildlife park Rusham Road, Canterbury, CT3 1JL Wingham Wildlife Park first opened its doors as Wingham Bird Park in 1986, changing its name to Wingham Wildlife Park approximately 15 years later. The park is now so much more than birds and offer a full package of fun for all the family to enjoy from play areas, mini diggers and go-karts to hands on encounters, museum exhibits and beautiful picnic locations. Wildwood Trust Herne Common, Herne Bay, Kent Wildwood is a unique woodland discovery park. It occupies 40 acres of ancient woodland, with easy access and lots to do and explore. From owls to otters, bees to beavers, and wild boar to wolves, you can experience close encounters with native wildlife in an environment that is close to nature. The life of Wildwood constantly changes with the seasons; as the animals give birth a whole host of young animals can be spotted, which means every visit is a new experience. You can also travel back to Saxon times to meet the local residents and find out how humans and nature got along. Catch a live demonstration of their ancient crafts and skills from the UK's leading re-enactment society. Port Lympne Aldington Road, Lympne, Hythe CT21 4LR Set over 600 acres, Port Lympne is home to the UK’s most authentic safari experience, The African Experience – 100 acres alive with African animals. Join our safari vehicles to see animals including zebras and giraffes wandering freely then head off on foot around the rest of the park to see the big cats and primates. Look out for the baby giraffe and rhino born in 2016! Visitors to Port Lympne throughout the year are promised a super, natural and epic day out as they explore wooded pathways to discover where the wild things are and see the UK’s largest herd of black rhino, big cats, small cats, primates, western lowland gorillas and more. Tankerton slopes and beach The cliff-top lawns of Tankerton Slopes, with their colourful beach huts, roll gently towards the sea and provide an excellent vantage point to watch the nautical world go by. The coastline provides a lovely walk for miles or just find a place to relax on the shingle beach. There are far reaching views across the estuary towards Southend. A long thin spit of shingle is exposed at high tide locally known as 'The Street', which is quickly covered at high tide. During the winter months the slopes are a popular place for sledging! Broadstairs Broadstairs is popular for its award-winning Blue Flag sandy beaches, delightful range of independent shops and cliff top walks to neighbouring Ramsgate and Margate. Whitstable Whitstable is like no other town by the sea. Its traditional charms, strong arts culture and rich maritime history complement Whitstable's modern appeal. Whitstable's main claim to fame is its oysters which remain an intrinsic part of this sea town's character and are celebrated every July at the Oyster Festival. Oysters and other delicacies from the sea can be enjoyed at the local restaurants and pubs or taken home from the fresh fish market at the harbour. Local walks There are a number of beautiful walks located around Littlebourne. Walks to the nearby villages of Wickhambreaux and Ickham are definitely worth a visit. Both have lovely country pubs that served traditional home cooked food.
  • We have just come back from a 2 night stay at Bramble lodge and had a lovely time! The lodge is nice and spacious with everything you need, and the hot tub was amazing and made our stay. Angela was very helpful and quick at responding. Would definitely recommend staying here!

  • My friends and I stayed at Bramble lodge to celebrate a 30th birthday. We hired a chef Friday evening, who cooked us a lovely 3 course meal. The lodge is surrounded by farm land and is lovely and quiet. The hot tub was warm when we arrived and vert easy to use. Angela was welcoming and helped us set up the fire on Saturday evening also. I would recommend.

    Sarah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This space is so wonderful, brilliantly located, well designed and thought out, near a whole host of great attractions, and my girls absolutely loved the hot tub and the goats and pigs.

  • Bramble Lodge was lovely and Angela was a great host! I would recommend having a morning walk around the perimeter of Howletts zoo. We was lucky enough to see the Rhinos and Elephants this morning so it was well worth the muddy walk! I would definitely stay here again.

Traditional bedroom with double bed and ample storage space in large cottage, built 1733. It has not been overly modernised, but has central heating, modern shower/wetroom, and Wifi. I also have a very friendly Jack Russell! Ideal base to explore East Kent. Due to steps and stairs, not suitable for people with limited mobility. Please note there's only one parking space (on my neighbours' drive), but there's also a layby 100 m from the house. The bus stop is about 300 m away, on the main road.
Double room in Kentish cottage: open fires, beams, etc. Not suitable for people with mobility problems. The room has a double bed, is carpeted, has central heating and a walk-in wardrobe. Shared bathroom next to room; also a wetroom downstairs. We have a piano and a big garden. Towels, toiletries and a hairdryer are provided. Please note both the pillows and duvet are filled with feathers, and I'm afraid I have no synthetic ones. Breakfast is included: tea, coffee, fruit juice, cereal and / or as much toast and eggs as you can eat - though I'll happily provide other things if you give me enough warning :-) We have a Jack Russel...she's very friendly, but this is not a good place for someone who doesn't like dogs! The house is on a street off the main road in a quiet village between Canterbury and Sandwich. At the back of the house there's a field full of rabbits, squirrels and birds. The house is about a mile away from Howletts wild animal park. Good bus service to Sandwich and Canterbury - every 20 minutes through the day (not so good in the evening or on Sundays!) The bus takes about 10 minutes to get from Canterbury to Littlebourne; the bus stop is 300 metres away, on the main road. Half hourly train service from Canterbury to London (St Pancras/Charing Cross or Victoria); the fastest takes just under an hour. National Express coaches (to Victoria) are usually much cheaper but take about two hours. Apart from being just 4 miles from the world famous tourist destination of Canterbury and its spectacular medieval cathedral, the village of Littlebourne is surrounded by beautiful countryside, and the sea is within a half hour drive to the north, east and south....oysters at Whitstable, glorious sandy beaches of Thanet, Turner at Margate, Dickens at Broadstairs, birdwatching on the sand dunes at Sandwich, a pier and two Tudor castles at Deal, the White Cliffs and Castle at Dover (not to mention frequent ferries to France) - and there's Britain's only official desert at Dungeness, about an hour south west of Canterbury.
It's quiet and rural. Canterbury is a very busy little town and I love it, but it is nice to get back to the peace and quiet of my garden. I think the most important things to see here are Canterbury, and the coast: Dover, Whitstable, Broadstairs, Sandwich - depending on your tastes and amount of time available.
  • Highly recommend to someone who wants to experience living like British. Heather is the best guide who can lead you to explore the south-east UK, and a best friend who makes you cosy breakfast every morning (plus English or history class sometimes😆). Katy - the second host in the house (a Jack Russell), is also a good pal to talk with, to cuddle when you need a warm hug, or a personal coach who can do some indoor exercise with you when the weather is not ideal. I feel so lucky to find here during my second year of study in UK. They are like a shelter where I find safe and like home. ❤️

    Stella2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • It was a such lovely stay at Heather’s house on the new year eve. We really enjoyed the nice breakfast with an interesting discussions and historical facts about Canterbury cathedral. Thanks so much for hosting us. I definitely recommend.

  • I had a very restorative stay at heathers place with great conversation very comfortable bed and lovely cool room to sleep in at night ( I like to sleep in a cool room, however room can be heated to individual requirement) . The shower was great as well (wet room) and I could not have asked for more in the form of a chef preparing my breakfast in front of me, thank you so much Heather.

    Miles2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Heather's was great, it is a lovely, clean place in a great location to explore the surrounding areas. Our room was lovely and cosy with many thoughtful touches. Thank you very much Heather for a brilliant stay.

  • You can be assured to receive a friendly welcome from Heather and Katy the dog. The bedroom is very comfortable with lots of extra touches eg. note pad and pen, european adapter plugs and much more. Littlebourne is a delightful village, it has easy access into Canterbury and surrounding areas. Highly recommend.

  • This is a wonderful house in a beautiful part of England. Two families went away for the night and were able to cook a full meal, eat drink and socialise with plenty of room. The children loved to play hide and seek in the house and the grounds and had a wonderful time.

  • Sarah was very helpful in the lead up to our stay, offering advise on places to visit and local walks. The house definitely lived up to our expectations, and the photos don't do it justice. The three bedrooms upstairs are all really big, and then there are 2 smaller bedrooms off the main living room which are fine for singles/kids but one of the rooms has a glass door so not quite as private if you are on a couples trip. The kitchen was very well equipt, and we loved using the wood fire in the main living space. 3 of our group are over 6ft, so they struggled a bit with the low beams, but us girls were absolutely fine! Thanks again for a fabulous weekend.

    Katie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The photos really don’t do this gem of a place justice. Lots of “wow” from people as they arrived. Much larger than I expected & the grounds are beautiful. Lovely to see pheasants visiting the garden in the morning. This place would be amazing in the summer to make use of the garden. Plenty of space for 10 of us ranging from 2 yrs old to 74. We all loved it. Very homely and the amenities are a nice touch. Thanks Sarah.

The property is located on route 1 of the National cycle Network and cyclists can also enjoy the Viking coastal trail, accessed from Thanet.
  • Exactly what I expected. Nice and simple space. Perfect for a weekend getaway. I really liked the small touch of the fire that had been lit for our arrival, as it was a bitter cold evening.

  • Lovely location and host in an ideal escape studio

    Guy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect, peaceful sanctuary surrounded by endless natural beauty but also close enough to all of the best local attractions. Great stay, thank you Jennie and Family!

    Harry2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We are repeat visitors to the Granary. We have been spoilt to the extent that we can only say that Jennie's high standards always meet or go beyond our expectations. A lovely place for peace and undisturbed tranquillity. We stayed in December so dark very early on so if really really really pushed to find fault - it would be a suggestion rather than a criticism. Perhaps bring a torch/phone torch for the approach through the Garden. Other than that. Excellent as ever. Fully recommended and will be returning in 2020.

    Aaron2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. No central heating but the log burner is more than enough, and the hosts left us with firewood which was very kind. Nicely placed to go into Canterbury/Dover. Nice views as well. - would reccomend

Donkey Barn is situated in the pretty village of Wingham approximately 7 miles from the historic City of Canterbury, 5 miles from The Cinque Port of Sandwich, within an easy drive of local beaches, Dover Ferry Port and the Eurostar terminal at Folkstone. The property is totally self contained with it's own entrance but near enough to the owners house should assistance be required. Donkey Barn has it’s parking space and private patio. There are numerous farm shops locally offering delivery.
Donkey Barn has a large main room with a kitchen area, (two ring hob, microwave and fridge tucked away behind grey curtain) lounge area and dining table. There is a wood burning stove for cosying up on the sofa, (£8 extra charge to cover logs/kindling/laying fire and cleaning) The bedroom has a double bed and adjacent is the shower room. One child can sleep on the sofa and another in a travel cot (provided) so a family of up to four can be comfortably accommodated. A TV is set up in both the main room and bedroom. There is a very pretty patio area opening from the main room and adjacent parking. Access to the owners garden is not permitted unless by arrangement. Donkey barn is newly renovated (spring 2019) and we have added luxury touches such as high quality linens, a Nespresso machine and lots of thoughtful extras we like to find when renting accommodation. Continental breakfast is available by prior arrangement at £8 per person.
Wingham is a thriving, very pretty village with many local amenities including it's the hugely popular Wingham Wildlife park (the lions roar can be heard from Donkey barn!). We have two pubs, The Anchor which hosts weekly live music events and serves tasty 'pub grub' and The Dog, an award winning gastro pub which serves excellent local food. There is a friendly café, The Politicians Daughter, an Indian restaurant and take away. Wingham has a fantastic farm shop selling local and organic produce and we are surrounded by lovely country walks. Within 10 minutes drive is the historic Cinque port of Sandwich (the home of The Royal St Georges golf club) and in the opposite direction is the Cathedral City of Canterbury a UNESCO World Heritage Site with it's famous cathedral, numerous shops, restaurants and bars. The Port of Dover is around 20 minutes drive and the Eurotunnel crossing at Folkstone is under half an hour. Fishing can be found at Sandwich lakes about a 5 minute drive away. Numerous beaches including Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate are all within easy driving distance (20-30 minutes) and Westwood Shopping centre, a huge retail and entertainment centre, can also be found within a 20 minute drive.

A warm and quiet room, seperate from the main house, with own entrance. There is access to the house for ablutions. In the garden there is a seating area which you are able to use, have a BBQ or just relax. Washing machine and dryer. There is also an outside tap to clean off muddy boots etc. If it is a warm day, please dry clothes outside, think about the environment. On entering the house you are in the kitchen, make yourself tea/coffee.
Anyone walking the Via Francigena with a credencial will get the room for half price ( I will give you the money back) and an evening meal. If I'm around I'll give you a lift to Dover or Canterbury. I walked it in 2017. The gaden has room for tents, so fill your boots.
There is a pub with a restaurant in the village, and also a village shop. The two nearby villages also have pubs, they are a 30 minute walk away along paths or road. Howletts wild animal park is a 20 minute walk away.
  • This place is one of my favourite places, where everything is just so right, Mick is a great host and the house and the room is welcoming, clean, neat, stylish and gemuetlich at the same time. The house is quiet and the surroundings are too. The area invites you to explore, so many old houses, Canterbury is near and so is Sandwich, a hidden gem, unspoilt. I had only time for 4 nights but hope to be back in the summer.

    Ulla2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Mick is a very friendly and forthcoming host who really cares to make you feel at home. His place is a perfect base from which to discover the immediate surroundings as well as cities like Canterbury and London. Certainly worthy of a special recommendation! Henk

  • Clean and comfortable home. I am glad I chose it for our stay.

    Simeon2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a good-looking, friendly, caring, kind and humourous host, Mick is definitely the one you are looking for. Every corner of his house is tidy, neat and clean becauae he tidies up the whole place frequently. Mick is very sporty so sometimes he will ask you to go for a walk around Canterbury if you want to. By having walked with Mick around Littlebourne, I got the chance to explore and know more about Littlebourne history. Such valuable experiences I got from Mick! Highly recommend!

    Keith2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Mick is a great host, very kind and helpful. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who has their own vehicles to choose Mick’s place as a short stay home.

    Jie2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • A nice little separate room, recently decorated, new furniture and things. A real value for money! The host is friendly and easygoing. I highly recommend Mick's place!

We are proud to be offering The Gatehouse, A one off bespoke lodge with a distant sea-view on a working farm. Located at Cherry Trees Farm near Deal in Kent it has a charming character, boasting a beautiful log burning fire, its own facilities, parking and to top it off a local pub across the road. It is a fantastic location for those that love nature, walking or just want to experience rural life in Kent.
As you walk in you cannot help but notice the fantastic finish of this bespoke made cabin. We have named it the Gatehouse as it is on the entrance of the working farm known as "Cherry Trees". It has its own parking, a distant sea-view and boasts a log burning fire with an unlimited supply of kindling and wood to keep you warm and cosy during your stay. It has its own integrated kitchen and we will provide a tea and coffee for the whole of your stay. The location has so much to offer, not far from the famous city of Canterbury, the iconic Dover Castle, the number one high street in Kent (Deal), not to mention within a 10 minute drive of the best beaches in the country. We are happy to accept dogs/pets but there is a £10 per night charge payable for them to stay.
The Gatehouse is located on a working farm, unfortunately this farm is not open for visitors due to insurance purposes, there maybe a chance that the owners may be able to show you around if requested in advance but this is not guaranteed. The Gatehouse is located on the entrance and has its own area for parking and veranda. There is a fantastic pub across the road called the Blazing Donkey, they also have a restaurant too and the food is good. Locally there are lots of villages with pubs, shops and Deal High Street a few minutes away in the car. Deal happens to be voted the Number 1 High Street in Kent, it has a fantastic sea front a pier. The Isle of Thanet is all but a 10 minute drive away and it boasts 7 blue flag beaches, some of the best in the country. There is enough outdoor space to store bicycles and these are a fantastic way to get around.

Relax and unwind in this artist-run bohemian retreat. Tucked away in the village of Preston, surrounded by orchards, you'll enjoy a peaceful 'get-away' yet be in easy reach of local amenities and Kent's stunning coastline. The studio is blissfully quiet, set back from the cottage with its own entrance under a vine-covered pergola, with access to a large garden. Your host is happy to interact as much or as little as you like, and will gladly share the best experiences the area has to offer.
Woodsmoke Arts Studios comes with all the usual amenities except TV, so you can be sure to relax and tune in with nature. There is a contemporary yet vintage feel to the studio which boasts high ceilings, large windows, and has a fabulous Swedish log burner at its centre. Built for artists, it has glorious light throughout which creates a sense of space and calm, all adding to the feeling of being on retreat. There is WiFi but the signal can be intermittent and we encourage all guests to switch off their devices and 're-wild'! There is plenty to do to connect with nature, and books and board games to focus a busy mind. There are plenty of places to stretch out and massage/yoga professionals on call to help you relax. Seasonal craft activities can also be arranged. The luxurious double bed has sheets with a generous thread count for you to enjoy a good nights sleep, and there is a pull out sofa bed for additional guests. The 5 meter bell tent can be hired for an additional fee, which will sleep 2-4 extra people comfortably. The studio has its own toilet and separate bathroom with a freestanding tub in which to enjoy a candle-lit soak. Prosecco and cake can be arranged for a treat on arrival, and a continental breakfast comes as standard and can be found in the studio fridge. Tea, coffee, and herbal drinks are also available. There is no kitchen as such, but there is a microwave oven should you need to self cater. Guests have the use of the rear garden, but are asked to keep noise to a minimum in respect of the neighbours and children's riding school at the back of the property. This is a place that welcomes creatives, nature lovers, and folk who won't mind the odd muddy paw print. Allergy sufferers please come prepared, the pollen count can be high and we do have pets and feather filled bedding. If you come across a creepy crawly we will do our best to guide them elsewhere, but we are very much out in the country! Expect to hear birdsong in the morning and owls at night, and sometimes the call of the wild really does drift over the fields as the lions roar from Wingham Wildlife Park.
Preston is a small rural village with a traditional church, village hall, community meadow, and recreation ground which includes a children's play area. A short walk through the orchards brings you to the picturesque Elmstone, which boasts a beautiful picnic spot and quaint library in a telephone phone box. Within a stones throw of the studio is Preston Garden Centre's fabulous bistro 'Coppers' where you can grab anything from a coffee and croissant to a full roast dinner, and pick up a tropical plant while you're at it! There's also a local shop, butchers, and pub in walking distance, and many more fine eateries and entertaining venues within a few minutes drive. Try The Anchor in Wingham for live music and fabulous pub grub, or Grove Ferry for boat rides or a spot of kayaking. You can paddle up river to nearby Fordwich, as old as the Dooms Day Book, and enjoy Michelin star cuisine for lunch at the Fordwich Arms! Or walk across the fields and relax in front of the fire with a craft beer at the Duke of William in Ickham. Historic Canterbury is a 20 minute drive, as is Sandwich, Deal and Dover. If its Art and Culture you are looking for, hang out in hip Whitstable, visit Margate's Turner Contemporary, or eat fish and chips with an Antony Gormley sculpture in Folkestone, all within a similar distance. There's something for everyone in this region, and with easy access to London, the ports, and channel tunnel, its the perfect place to explore the rest of Europe.
  • Such an amazing stay - Emily was a wonderful host (very quick replies!) and the place was idyllic. Just as good as the pictures, if not better. Very secluded, nice little extras (cake, breakfast, local apple juice and milk) and very well equipped (blankets, games, books, bubble bath, radio etc.). Would definitely return - the perfect getaway from city life! Thanks so much x

We loved the rural location, which is out of the way but also still a short drive from local attractions so not too far away from civilisation! Emily was a great host, friendly, helpful and quick with responses. We would highly recommend a stay here.

Apple Tree Corner with its 9 acres of land is a luxurious, fully-equipped studio with full kitchen and breathtaking views. Huge bathroom with twin tub looking out on an area of outstanding natural beauty. Enjoy land including orchard and grazing for lambs and horses. Explore the nearby attractions of Canterbury, close to Channel Tunnel. After a day enjoying the local beaches and attractions, relax and cook a meal in the beautiful living space or head to the local great pub 15 mins walk away.
APPLE TREE CORNER IS A GREAT PLACE TO SELF ISOLATE AS WE ARE VERY REMOTE AND WE DO NOT NEED TO MEET YOU AS WE HAVE SELF CHECKING IN. ALSO WE STERILISE EVERYTHING EACH CHANGEOVER SO YOU CAN BE SURE ALL SURFACES ARE SAFE. THE PERFECT SPOT DURING THESE DIFFICULT TIMES SO COME AND STAY FOR LOTS OF WALKS AND ISOLATION!! Apple Tree Corner is a luxurious entirely self-contained studio home, sleeping two people, perfect for couples and also business travellers. Adjoining the studio space there is a large luxurious bathroom with incredible views and a bath deep enough to share, (bubble bath provided!). Within the studio space there is a fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, fridge and dishwasher, very comfortable bed and exclusive use of the extensive gardens. It was recently built and has its own dedicated entrance and private off street parking. A romantic spot for couples but also suitable for business travellers with self check in if required. Space for laptops and WiFi is provided. ****One of our more recent guests (November 18) found it so romantic that he proposed to his girlfriend there and then! We are delighted to say she said YES!**** Apple Tree Corner is on a quiet and secluded lane near the friendly and historic village of Wootton in the stunning Kent countryside. It is in a designated Area of Outstanding Beauty and you can enjoy the peace and the views that this brings. Pheasants, rabbits and badgers roam around and can often be seen. With a comfortable bed and a hotel style bathroom with walk in shower as well as the twin tub this peaceful and well designed spot is perfect for unwinding; a great find. The fully equipped kitchen provides a home away from home; enjoy tea and breakfast in the morning or chilled wine in the evening on the grounds. On a clear night the stars are very bright - there are great dark skies and by opening out the wide bifold doors you can watch the stars from bed! A choice of outdoor areas means a variety of spots where you can relax outside, perhaps in the orchard with its incredible views (help yourself to apples and pears), or in the hammock in the private garden. During the winter the studio is a cosy and welcoming spot; share a deep bubble bath while admiring the views across the valley. As well as sheep and horses in the fields, you'll often find pheasants wandering through the property, often right outside the windows and bifolds. The surrounding fields attract buzzards which you can often see wheeling high above you on thermal currents, and hear their plaintive, long 'peeee-uu' calls. Also in the air you can regularly see Spitfires passing over the house. A continental style breakfast is supplied for the first night of your stay and there is plenty of tea, coffee and cooking essentials in the cupboards. The property is just a 15/20 minute drive to Eurotunnel, Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone and the High Speed Rail to London takes around 45 mins. You will be hosted by Richard and Julia who live on site.
The apartment is near an extensive network of footpaths and bridle ways, several golf courses and riding schools. The cathedral city of Canterbury is a 15-minute drive away, offering sightseeing and a huge variety of shops and restaurants.
  • Wow! What a wonderful and perfect get away. My husband and I were there with our toddler and there was so much that kept him busy from the little pebbles, hunting for shells, feeding apples to the horses and going to the zoo only 15 minutes away. We were even given a few snacks in the fridge that was not at all expected and so was a wonderful treat! Everything you need is available in the kitchen including a dish washer! The bathroom is to die for, the views from the tub are amazing. This was just a perfect get away and we will definitely be coming back.

  • A lovely romantic weekend away with my husband to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The location was perfect for us and we had a lovely muddy walk to the Jackdaw pub which was recommended by Julia and Richard and previous quests. They serve amazing food and good value and a good selection of beer on tap. Apple Tree Corner was just what we needed to spend some quality time together. The little touches of bread, milk and eggs was a pleasant surprise. The bath was amazing and the views were brilliant. Again a nice touch with leaving bubble bath. Would highly recommend to any couples who want to hide away and spend some quality time together together.

A spacious courtyard garden one bed apartment with terrific sea views over the English channel. Deal is a popular and fashionable seaside town on the Kent Coast that remains largely un-spoilt with an attractive shoreline and an historic "old town" centered on Middle Street and Beach Street. The apartment (Beach retreat ) is located in a central position on Beach Street in the heart of historic Deal. It overlooks the sea and Pier, just yards from the beach
Seaside accommodation in the centre of town with a plethora of shops, bars, restaurants. Local golf courses, castles, the ferry over france etc...
  • Deborah's place was perfect for a weekend getaway. The home has a cute cottage feel with whitewashed wood and nautical touches. We stayed here on a rainy weekend & being able to watch the waves out of the windows in the cozy comfort of the home was amazing. The place was perfectly clean when we arrived and we had everything we needed during our stay. We did not use the backyard terrace because of the weather but I can imagine on a nice day it would have been a great touch of outdoor space. There is food, bars, shopping all within a 5-minute walk.

  • Incredible location for exploring Deal, so many great pubs and shops within a few hundred metres - plus the beach being so close was a huge bonus. The property was very spacious and nicely decorated. Thanks to Debbie for being so hospitable too!

  • Beach Retreat is a fantastic haven located in the perfect spot for both the beach and the town, with pubs, cafes and restaurants a few minutes away. The apartment was spotless and better (and bigger) than the photos suggest. Debbie is a super host too, great communication and very helpful.

Little Seashell Cottage is a quaint semi-detached cottage which sits in the Middle Street conservation area in the heart of historic Deal, a short distance to the beach. It is a wonderful romantic retreat for two, ideal for cosy evenings relaxing after a day on the beach or explorong the many interesting places that are part of the Kent coast. Little Seashell Cottage has recently been refurbished to provide many of the comforts of a modern home in a tradional fisherman's cottage.
Little Seashell Cottage has been designed to offer open plan living in a surprisingly spacious ground floor space with light flooding in from a floor to ceiling window in the lounge, and the bi-folding doors which lead from the well-equuipped and modern kitchen directly onto the decked area where a bistro table and chairs offer guests the chance to dine outside when the weather allows. Up the steep stairs is a double bedroom with kingsize bed and decor especially chosen for its seascape theme, a perfect place for snuggling down. Guest have access to Wifi, and a television with all the usual free-view channels. A selection of movies and television series are also available through Amazon Prime and Netflix.
Walk on the promenade in a town steeped in history and cuilture. Deal offers a micro climate with the best of the summer weather. Quirky boutiques and antique shops to browse. Foodie heaven right on your doorstep. Deal has not one but three Tudor castles built by HenryVIII, namely Deal, Walmer and Sandown. The first two you can visit and Sandown (only a few stones remain) is on the cycle path that follows the coast. There is something for everyone in Deal, fantastic independent shops, markets, delicatessens, pubs, restaurants and cafes and a great beach! The actual town centre is pedestrianised which makes it an idealace to wander and explore. Deal has a long 1950s Pier which was named Pier of the year in 2008, and the beach is perfect for soaking up the costal scenery. Deal is a genuine Georgian town, evidnet in the Middle Street conservation are, with winding streets and lovely promenade.Other things to do in Deal include the Time Ball Tower Museum, which is a Semaphore Tower and was used to pass messages along the East Coast to warn of smugglers. The Deal Martime and LOcal History Museum is also very interesting as it tells the full historical story of this seaside town. The Deal Memorial Bandstand is a remembrance of the bombing of Deal's Royal Marine School. The bandstand is still in use and there are free concerts from May to September on Sunday afternoons. There are several markets to enjoy in Deal. There is a weekly Saturday market and a small market outside the Town Hall on Wednesday and Fridays. Monthly there is a Farmer's Market with local producers and seasonal food. For garden enthusiasts, there are lovely gardens at Walmer Castle with eight acres to explore. During the school holidays, Walmer Castle runs themed events for all the family and since June 2015, visitors have been able to experience the 'reimagined Walmer Castle' created to mark the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. For golfers, try your skills on a links course and Deal has plenty to offer: Walmer and Kingsdown Links, Royal St George's in Sandwich, and Royal Cinque Ports in Deal are all within eas reach. For sailing enthusiasts, the nearby Downs Sailing Club hold events suitable for novices and experienced sailors, throughout the season. For swimmers who dont like seawater, a visit with the family to Tides Leisure Centre, a minute's drive away,is a must. Fishing need not just be nipping down to the beach front for the catch of the day off the local fisherman, why not bring your rod and bait and cast off from the pier of beach yourself? In 2014, Deal won the Telgraph 'High Street of the Year ' award and also features in the Times 30 Best PLaces by the Sea.
  • My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Seaside Cottage; it is a lovely, clean, modern and homely space within walking distance to the high street, local stores, the beach and 15 minutes walk either way to Sandown and Deal Castles. It was our anniversary getaway and Steve left a lovely note on a bottle of bubblies for us which was a really special touch❤️ I would definitely and highly recommend Steve’s Seaside Cottage to anybody traveling to Deal. We will be back without a doubt.

13 Campbell Road is a previous fisherman's cottage set over three floors that I've owned and loved for 8 years. It's a wonderful place to get away from the day to day stresses with the beach and the sea gulls making it feel like a holiday destination every time. It has loads of character and is as comfortable to be in, in the summer or the winter with either the garden or the snug with the log burner to relax in. The road is made up of pastel coloured houses with a real sense of the neighbourly.
Deal High Street is a leisurely 15 minute walk away along the promenade past Deal Castle towards the pier. There are no shortages of great cafes to call into.

The apartment is extremely well furnished and fitted to a high standard with everything a holidaymaker would need or expect. Our village is very peaceful, clean and well kept. We have a working corn mill close by and the river Dour runs past our property. The Royal Oak pub, a mere 3 minute walk, serves a good range of food and speciality beers. The picturesque Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens are a short walk away, boasting woodland walks, play areas for children and an excellent cafe.
  • We spent a perfect night with Chris who is an adorable and very responsive woman. We had to take the ferry to Calais at 9:00 pm and the latter left an hour and forty five late which made us arrive very late at home and yet, never a thought, that kindness and courtesy. And as a bonus we have stayed in a small dream house. In short it was a very nice moment and doubled with a beautiful meeting. Our new address when we arrive in England for on.

    Teddy2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect, very clean and cute. Chris and her husband are very friendly and you could laugh a lot. Breakfast was delicious too. We would definitely come again!

  • I booked the afternoon for the evening, Chris was helpful and kind to welcome my brother returning from Scotland to Italy. It is a long journey, made to help us in our move. Knowing it in a cozy place was of great help to us. Even though he arrived a little later than check in, Chris welcomed him and even personally accompanied him to get some food !!! We have no words to thank! The room is comfortable and clean with the bathroom outside the door, the location is great for boarding in Dover ... More than that you can not! Thanks Chris !!

    Genny2020-02-11T00:00:00Z

    Ruben2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Chris gave me a friendly welcome, comfortable room, nice clean bathroom next to my bedroom. I would definitely stay here again should I find reason to. We communicated well beforehand and Chris was attentive to me needing space to rest, yet she was available should I have needed anything extra (which I didn't). Scrummy yummy continental breakfast including fresh fruit salad, which I love. Gave clear local information I requested. Totally recommend. Thank you.

    Linda2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was so friendly and helpful. She gave us great recommendations of local places to eat, cheerfully helped us Americans with how to actually pronounce the names of cities, and told us where the best place to park was. Besides this, we loved staying at her home and everyone conversation with her was full of smiles and laughter. The private room and bathroom were clean and had everything we needed. We would stay with Chris again.

A delightful self contained rural holiday chalet situated in the 3.5 acre grounds of our smallholding. We are in a small rural hamlet surrounded by orchards and footpaths with a village pub 4 doors away. Close to sandy beaches at Minnis Bay, Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate's Royal Harbour. Whitstable and the city of Canterbury are close by. We are also only 30 minutes to the eurotunnel and dover port if you fancy a day trip to france. Sandwich Bay and St Georges golf course are a short drive.
The chalet is newly refurbished. It has an open plan lounge, kitchen, diner, shower room, a bedroom with a kingsize bed and walk in wardrobe with plenty of space, a second bedroom with 2 single beds which can be zipped together to make a kingsize bed if requested in advance. Outside there is a covered veranda with chairs to enjoy the evening sun. A picnic bench is outside and parking for 2 cars.
The local pub is 4 doors away which serves food 7 days a week. There are also many good restaurants in nearby villages. There is a butchers and village store in Preston 2 miles away. There are bigger shops nearby in Birchington and Minster or supermarkets at Westwood Cross. The river Stour is a short walk and other good walks through the local orchards are popular.

Centrally located in Ash village, near shop, pub, chemist and bus stop. Ash village is surrounded by pretty Kent countryside, with local vineyards, apple orchards, sheep and cows, Sandwich is very close for medieval history and plenty of good restaurants, also nearby is Wingham another very pretty village. Good local, village owned pub providing excellent food and ale. Plenty of activities throughout the year such as the village fete and plays, rugby and cricket.
Large Georgian townhouse with shop front formerly used as hat makers, mens clothes shop and cafe, currently used as a living/dining space. Small sunny courtyard at rear, access for bikes to side. Five bedroom house, we are renting out three rooms and living here ourselves. 3 bedrooms available to rent - 2 bedrooms on second floor and king size ensuite on first floor listed separately.
Ash is quite a busy village, it has two pubs, a cafe, hair and beauty salon, vineyard and take away. It has lots of amenities and enjoys sports like rugby and cricket. Lots to do locally from walking in the Kent countryside to wildlife parks and medieval towns. Fishing, golf and horse riding all available nearby, lots of history in the area including Canterbury cathedral and Dover castle.
  • Wonderful hosts and accomdation

    Chris2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay at Antonia and Greg's house. The top floor rooms are spacious with a great living room and stunning bathroom. Everything so clean and lots of thoughtful touches like a mini fridge and tea and coffee facilities. Ash is the perfect spot for exploring the coast (only 10-20 mins to some great coastal towns) and the Kent countryside. Antonia gave some great restaurant recommendations and tips for the area. We would definitely return!

My place is modern, light and has a delightful atmosphere. It’s is 10 minutes walk to the sea, town and train station. Or two minutes in the car. At the end of my road is open farmland and paths to Betteshanger Country Park. Deal is a gem, I do hope you enjoy exploring this place, which is full of charm from my comfortable and warm house.

  • We highly recommend staying at Laura's warm clean and comfortable home!

    Tracy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's place is immaculate, clean, extremely comfortable and comes with a lot of added extras. The room comes with a fridge filled with drinks that you can help yourself to, a breakfast box filled with porridge pots, breakfast biscuits, fresh fruit, a selection of other breakfast pastries and a variety of different drink options from fruit juices to hot beverages. You also have the added experience of using google(hey google) to operate the lights and Radio channels. Finally, although the address is new, it is easy to locate and is just off of main routes.

  • This Airbnb was fabulous. Laura the hostess was always in good communication and gave us great details to find her house. It was exceptionally clean and the amenities were really good. I would recommend this Airbnb highly with 5 stars!!

    Joanna2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Second time I've stayed here and definitely wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

    James2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Communication with Laura was spot on. The street might to show up on Google maps but Laura gave us clear instructions and we made it there with no problems. The place is very clean, really cozy and really quiet. It had everything we needed for the weekend, a variety of toiletries, somewhere to hang out clothes, there was even a iron with an ironing board of we needed it, there was also clear written instructions during our stay but still we felt that we could ask them anything that would have come up. The stay was in a perfect location for our needs as it were easy access to Dover and Canterbury and parking wasn't an issue. We would recommend the place 100%

Relax and unwind by the ornate fireplace at this retro-styled Victorian terrace in the heart of the medieval town of Sandwich. Have breakfast in the pretty courtyard garden, then take a leisurely stroll to the quay for fish and chips.
The accommodation is a terraced 2 double bedroom early Victorian cottage. It fits a family four plus an infant in a travel cot or two couples comfortably. It is on a beautiful, quiet residential street in the heart of Sandwich with buildings dating back hundreds of years, grand walls and properties that are lovingly renovated and cared for. Staying on Vicarage Lane really is a delight. The kitchen is brand new and integrated with dishwasher and washing machine and there is also a lovely outside courtyard space with bbq and table and chair set. We've tried to think of everything to make your stay as good as possible. It takes less than a minute to walk to the amenities of Sandwich.
Sandwich really is a delight, with timbre-framed houses leaning over narrow streets. Follow the town trail taking in the historic sites, then relax on the quay with its cosy pubs and good eateries. Pop into Scrumalicious for yummy coffee and cake.
  • My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Claire's place. It is beautifully decorated in a lovely town. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again

    Ben2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage in Sandwich, immaculately presented, would definitely recommend with very comfy beds and open fire made for a relaxing stay.

  • Loved it so much that we’re coming back for Easter Weekend!

    Stanley2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely Airbnb! Most comfortable bed ever, lots of space, beautiful fireplace. Claire was a great communicator and very understanding when our son was unwell.

    Anjana2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a wonderful weekend break in this stylish, cosy cottage. It's been carefully and beautifully designed and is within walking distance of everything you need in the beautiful little town of Sandwich. If you enjoy dog walking - you can access the River Stour Valley Walk within 5 minutes of your front door and in about 40 mins you're at the beach. Thoroughly recommend.

    Nigel2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This house is beautiful, stylish, warm and quiet. We could not have been more comfortable. It’s central to Sandwich town but delightfully peaceful, tucked into one of the prettiest parts of the town. Excellent.

    Philippa2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Claire’s little cottage was perfect. Positioned centrally in the delightful town of Sandwich it was just right for the family event that we were attending. I would thoroughly recommend staying in this lovely little property. It was spotlessly clean with everything that you could need, including fresh coffee and a cafetière. Thank you!

    Sue2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here with our baby for a dreamy few days in otherwise dreary January. It was absolutely perfect. The location couldn’t be better, the kitchen is well stocked and the house looks beautiful. Check in and out was super easy, Claire was available super quick for our one minor issue (sticky clicker on the travel cot) and all the information was well thought through, accessible and super helpful. Sandwich is a great town to visit with a baby. So old! Thanks Claire 😊

  • During our visit to Deal, Mike kindly arranged to meet us to show us his lovely flat and any important instructions or tips. The flat was very clean and very nicely decorated. Mike even had a bottle of wine and some biscuits waiting for us. Much appreciated! The flat is nicely situated at one end of the high street and close to a stroll on the beach. A fantastic Airbnb and I would highly recommend this to others and would definitely stay here again for a future visit.

    Ken2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • My sister and I had a lovely stay at Mike and Michele’s flat. It had everything we needed for our stay and was in a lovely location. Communication was great and we can definitely recommend the flat to anyone looking for a home from home in Deal. Many thanks for everything, Diane and Angela

    Diane2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were so helpful before, during and after our stay here. Mike even came and picked us up from the station when we arrived. The flat is beautifully welcoming and in a perfect location, with so many thoughtful touches for guests. We loved our time in Deal and this apartment made our trip even better.

    Madeleine2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Do not hesitate to come to this apartment. It is very well decorated, equipped and located close to the beach. Ideal place for two couples or a family of 4. Mike made us very welcome. To advise with eyes closed. And to eat in the evening, the Prince Albert pub is very nice. 200m from the apartment.

    Frédéric2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Just love this space - everything we need in a stylish and bright apartment. Clean, well equipped and a lovely spot right near the beach and the town.

    Rebecca2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • You have found a gem! Book it and you won’t be disappointed. Mike met us and was so prompt with response to messages from beginning to end. Mike helped me with all my bags up the 3 fights of stairs with 2 kids in tow! We had everything we needed but as my online shop hadn’t arrived yet mike kindly popped home and got me some fresh milk. Chocolates and wine were left out as a welcome gift. The flat is comfortable, bright and airy and the beds were very comfortable. Had enough room in one of the rooms for an air bed and there would be for a travel cot if needs be. The flat is located a walk away from deal pier and on the high street. However it’s silent at night. So peaceful. In one of the bedrooms you can see the sea through the buildings. Deal in February was chilly but great! Defo visit the kitchen at the end of the pier. Loved our stay. Thank you

    Lisa2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Mike is a great host and it’s a lovely flat. You’re just a few minutes from both the seafront and centre of town. We visit Deal quite often and will look to book Mike’s place again.

    Helen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Mike was very pleasant in his communication and gave us good directions to the flat. The flat itself is absolutely stunning, the attention to details are amazing and we all said we'd quite happily live in a place like this. The rooms are spacious, bathroom and kitchen were well equipped and the living room was big enough for 4 adults and a child. Plus, the wingback chair was incredibly comfortable. Would highly recommend this place to anybody, it's a stone's throw from the beach and Deal itself is lovely.

Explore all that Deal has to offer from this stylish and tranquil apartment on the lower floor of an Edwardian house. Carefully curated decor combined with attention to detail make this a delightful base for your stay by the sea.
Deal is best discovered on foot. Stroll to the beach and buy some fresh fish off the boat or explore the award-winning High Street with its range of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. • We loved our stay at Annie's. It was cozy and comfortable and had everything we needed. The decor was lovely and stylish and everything was super clean. We had a brilliant stay.

    Victoria2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Annie's apartment is perfectly appointed and charming with lovely decor, thoughtful touches and a super comfortable bed. It was use for walking into Deal or along the seafront. We felt at home there and Annie was warm and friendly host. Would highly recommend the apartment.

  • Spent a lovely weekend in Deal at Anne’s self-contained basement flat. Beautiful place and great location near the railway station for those wishing to visit Margate, Dover or Canterbury on day trips. But Deal is lovely for being less touristy.

    Mansur2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time staying at Annie’s place, it was such a cosy, comfortable flat in a perfect location. Annie was a great host, and gave lots of thoughtful tips and recommendations, and was easy and quick to communicate with. It made the stay a very smooth and enjoyable experience. A great place to stay for a weekend by the sea! Would definitely return!

    Jess2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • From cleanliness to bed comfort, everything was perfect. Annie went above and beyond to make the place look and feel like the perfect little beach cottage! The bathroom (which I am usually very petty about) is spotless and feels extra new. You are provided with everything you might think of in the kitchen, it really felt like home. The bed is a king size and very, very comfortable. Overall, the place is decorated with amazing taste! Last sweet detail: the garden. The colours are simply beautiful. Extra bonus points for the location: you are 5 minutes away from Deal trainstation and from a Sainsbury's (the big one). Deal is a little gem, and so is Annie - we forgot a watch there, thought it was lost but Annie kindly notified us and sent it back as soon as she found it. Looking forward to book here again!

  • Charming apartment in the lovely town of Deal. It is part of the host's house but it has a separate entrance. The apartment has everything that you might need. Annie even left some milk for us in the fridge in case we wanted to have tea. It was well equipped - iron, shampoos, dock chairs and picnic baskets for the beach. The town is really nice - lively and calm at the same time. Many of the local restaurants and shops have a nice authentic feel to them.
