Places to stay in Eastport

Places to stay in Eastport
Life is all about balance. Our little cottage is a place that will remind you about what's important - nature, relationships, exploration, and the sea. This cozy and airy cottage is located in historic Eastport, Maine with access to all Downeast Maine has to offer: the rocky coast, hiking, beachcombing, art, history, fresh seafood (not to mention the best lobster roll in New England), and friendly hospitality.
Spend the day reading and relaxing on one of the two decks; the first-floor deck is spacious, quiet, and surrounded by trees; the upstairs deck is off the kitchen and has a bird's eye view of Passamaquoddy Bay with more than a glimpse of Campobello Island. Map out the day hiking on the Bold Coast or stay closer to home and enjoy a short walk to the beach to search for sea glass. Take a short walk downtown for a leisurely meal, to explore the local shops and enjoy galleries showcasing Maine artists. Finish your day preparing a meal in the well-equipped kitchen, dining on the deck, or snuggling in the window encased living room watching the skyscape of colors. After a good night's sleep you'll awaken to fog horns and the first sunrise in the USA.
This is a quiet and sweet little neighborhood in the South End of Eastport, also known as Bingville. There is beach access one street over, spectacular views of the bay, and if you have patience you may spot a whale. You will definitely see fishing boats set out for a day's work.
  • Fantastic cottage by the sea. Well stocked, spotless, comfortable and decorated beautifully.

  • This was the best place to unwind after our crazy wedding weekend! A thoughtful congratulations card was waiting for us upon checkin and the cottage had everything we could have needed. We were able to explore beaches and lighthouses during the day and unwind at night!

  • Cyndi's place in Eastport, Maine is fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and did not want to leave. The entire house was open to me and, though alone, I felt as though I was in my own house. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a complete kitchen and a beautiful living room in which to relax. Windows everywhere! A two outside decks with great views. Whenever I return to Eastport, this is definitely the place I will stay.

  • My mom and I just spent a few days in the Little Cottage and we loved it (and Eastport). I am the kind of person who spends too much time redesigning houses in my mind but I couldn't find anything I wanted to change in this place - it is as nice as it looks in the pictures and is stocked with pretty much everything you could ever need. Eastport was very quiet in mid September and not everything was open, but that was okay with us. We both live in Maine and eat at more than our fair share of lobster shacks, but we found exceptional ones in Eastport, along with Rosie's Hot Dogs (worth it for the onion rings alone) and the Waco Diner (among the best blueberry pancakes I've ever had). We took a great day trip to Lubec and Campobello (a must do) and spent a lazy day at the Reversing Falls in Pembroke (also well worth doing - bring chairs!). I am an avid cyclist and found some beautiful quiet roads around Boyden Lake. It's a trek up to Eastport, even if you already live in Maine, but it is absolutely worth it, especially when you get to stay in a great house like this one!

  • Great location for just relaxing or seeing the sites. Very friendly town. Lovely sunrises. Cyndi's place is comfortable with everything you need. Took a while to find the cutting board -hint - it is on top of the refrigerator. It is special place that is for sure.

    Linda2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The most considerate and responsive host we have ever had. We arrived ready for peace and quiet and to our surprise and Cyndis, the house next door was a major construction zone. We called Cyndi who responded immediately and found us another place to stay and immediately refunded our money offering us her house for the night. It took us 15 minutes to go from stressed to serene. It is so beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly need or want. We enjoyed feeling like we were in a deluxe tree house with unexpected peekaboo views of the ocean. We saw a number of deer, wild turkey and a seal. We decided to stay longer and take our chances with the construction as we were so contented. I highly recommend Cyndi as a host and her cottage for your vacation stay. Eastport is so charming and quirky.

    Susan2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Cyndi's place is impeccable and fully stocked. Lots of wonderful touches and very comfortable - even the beds which is rare for a rental. Cyndi is a wonderful host and very attentive. Treat yourself to this place - you won't regret it!

    Marla 2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cyndi's place is so lovely! The view is unbeatable, and the home itself is full of thoughtful and comfortable touches. Would love to stay here again, and absolutely recommend this spot to anyone traveling nearby!

This is a comfortable 180 year old house, eclectically furnished, 2 blocks from downtown, across from what used to be the last sardine cannery. This is not "Sandals" or the "Plaza", but it is spacious and homey and at only $100-150 a night for 5 bdrms & 2baths, a big kitchen. The beach access is 50 feet from the front door. Beaches in Eastport are not like the Bahamas. We have good wi-fi, and cable TV, but if you're lucky, you can watch whales from the sun room.
  • Beautiful home with view of ocean across the street.

    Joanne2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful home. There are large gathering areas as well as little rooms of solitude so your family can be together or go to quite areas...,Very New England which I love. The bedrooms are spacious, and the beds are comfortable with plenty blankets and pillows...Very important. The kitchen is huge and perfect for family cooking and conversation. It is also in a perfect location, not in the middle of town but walking distance and far enough away to allow for more privacy. I loved walking out at dawn to photograph the sunrise. In addition the home was spotless with many thoughtful articles small sculpture and lovely paintings scattered around the house. This home was more than we expected. Also the host, Will, was available when needed and helpful.

    Jeanie2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very clean and comfortable home. All comforts of home are available. Will is a very thoughtful host. The location is fantastic

  • Plenty of room, very clean, easy to find and convenient to where we were working.

    Nicole 2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • You will love drinking a cup of coffee on the porch and watching the lobster boats hauling up their traps. If you are lucky, you may see a whale- definitely a seal or two.

    Liz2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience. House is like a step back in time furnished with comfortable antiques and vintage decor. Everything we needed and more. Comfortable beds, great location close to town, lovely water view.

  • Exceptional Art. Comfortable place. Close to Everything. Nice views. Huge Kitchen.

    Robbie2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice spacious house. Worked very good for our family. We enjoyed the unique oldness about the place. It made our Eastport experience very wonderful. We would like to stay here again if we come back to Eastport.

Enjoy a bright welcoming space in the middle of downtown with views of the water. Have coffee and breakfast downstairs at Dastardly Dick's, and wander Water Street or wind your way to Shackford Head State Park for an afternoon hike.
one bedroom, one bathroom, large great room combining kitchen and living space. tall windows overlooking water street .
  • Cute place! Eastport is cute too!

    Hannah2020-01-19T00:00:00Z

    Jean2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot in the center of Eastport just across the street from the waterfront and steps above the coffee shop run by the hosts with delicious breakfast. Jenie was extremely accommodating. Being pet friendly allowed us to travel with our dog which was a big plus.

    Stephen2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is above a restaurant and cannabis dispensary in the heart of Eastport, Maine. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. Being the middle of November when we visited, there was not much open, including a place to get breakfast, but the grocery store is a 2 minute drive or a 15 minute walk away and the kitchen was well equipped, including coffee. There was an amazing concert at the nearby Arts Centre that we just happened to stumble upon, and that made our stay even more enjoyable. We would love to return to Eastport in warmer weather, and fully experience the town, and would love to stay here again.

    James2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay right in town above the coffee shop. Peter and Jenie are very sweet and made a great space for visitors. And the bed is super cozy!!

    Teresa2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jenie's place was awesome. She is a fantastic host! Communications were prompt. Check-in was a breeze. We loved being right in the middle of the little village. Jenie's recommendation for dinner was great. We would be thrilled to stay at her place again and highly recommend Jenie as a host to any future guests.

    Ian+Clifford2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place downtown on the second floor overlooking the town. The hosts were great and met us initially. They offer breakfast in their coffee shop as well. Off-season so not much going on but very comfortable place to rest your feet.

    Tom2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Eastport is a beautiful and active small town. Dastardly Digs is a great place to stay right in town. The apartment is comfortable and really clean. You get a partial view of Cobscook Bay and the water is right across the street. For breakfast you can head downstairs and have great coffee and breakfast from the owners’ cafe.

Private & entire loft suite with beautiful ocean frontage & view. The guest suite is a large studio that is 900 square feet and includes a full kitchen (stove, microwave, dishwasher, full size refrigerator, and keurig coffee maker) that is stocked with everything except the food. Also includes a full bath (with shower, no tub). Complete with a full size washer and dryer in the suite (and laundry detergent). 3 large windows with a full view of the ocean from anywhere in the suite. Pets welcome.
The suite is a large, welcoming, open space with an amazing view of the ocean. There is ocean access on the property (hilly, rocky ocean front). You could fish in the ocean right from the property! **Please note that we are still working on improvements to the suite. There is still some trim work that needs to be completed. However the suite is set up to provide you a comfortable and amazing stay!! The guest suite is the entire upper floor above our 2 car garage (we do not park cars in the garage) and is separated from our house by a breezeway (with 2 solid-core doors on either side of the breezeway - so you won't hear us, we won't hear you). So you have a private entrance, and complete privacy in the suite. The washer & dryer are private also for the suite. (No one to share it with). The guest suite has a king size bed. We have a large air mattress that we can set in the suite if needed for additional sleeping space. Just let me know in advance. The full kitchen inside the guest suite is complete with dishes, silverware, pots, pans, utensils, spices - pretty much everything except the food. There are some snacks & drinks in the suite that are for your enjoyment, free of charge. About 1/4 mile down the road is a beach area where you could clam or take out a kayak. We do have a single person sit-on kayak that you are welcome to take out on calm days. The guest suite has a 60" flat screen tv & dish network. Also includes wifi - although our wifi is not super high speed. The TV also has Netflix & Amazon Prime on it. Unfortunately, the guest suite is not wheelchair accessible. There are stairs going up to the guest suite. The stairwell is inside, so weather is not a problem. There is a large parking area, so a medium sized trailer or several cars would not be a problem. Pets are welcome. Just let me know what to expect. We have 2 small dogs, but they will not be in the area of the guest suite. The property is an acre, so if you have pets there is plenty of room for them to run around. Self check-in is available if we aren't going to be around when you arrive. Instructions will be given prior to arrival. As a side note, we've decided to call our property "Rooster Bay" because we have a metal rooster on the mailbox. Although no live chickens are on the property :) I have a soft spot for rescue dogs & for metal roosters/chickens. So you might see a few of each on the property! ❤ We are actually located on East Bay in the Bay of Fundy.
We are located a little less than a mile down a private, dirt road. It is accessible by car most of the year. If it has recently snowed, I would recommend a front-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle. The snow is plowed in the winter (daily if needed). There are several homes down the private road, but no other homes are visible from our property. You are welcome to walk or hike in the area.
  • This is probably the best Air BnB I’ve ever stayed at. I stayed here with my boyfriend for a night and Chireen made it so special for us with the sweetest touches. This place included the best amenities and had THE BEST view. Cute, quiet place and a great getaway! Will definitely stay again if I am in the area!

    Ally2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • I feel bad for any air bnb near here because they have to compete with the best air bnb anyone will ever see.

    Layton2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Chireen is very hospitable, the place is very clean and comfortable.

    Brian2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time staying here. Chireen is very good with communication and has made everything from getting there to getting into the place so easy. The snacks and heated mattress may have been my favorite parts. The view is absolutely gorgeous as well. I would love to stay here again! Thank you!

    Oksana2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • So many thoughtful touches to this place. It was even better than what we expected! Beautiful and they provided everything you needed(and more!).

    Tina2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • My reason for travel was for something especially stressful and Chireen’s place provided me with an oasis away. The view that you wake up to is breathtaking and your stay will be very private. I wish I could rate my stay a 10 star rating but alas I am confined by Airbnb’s 5 star maximum.

    Michelle2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Chireen was a great host. Her place was a wonderful getaway. I will be back for sure!

    Kaley2020-02-02T00:00:00Z

  • Sarah’s place is incredibly cute, well located and tidy. It was the perfect place to stay!

    Juliana2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's place is super cute and cozy! We were there on one of the coldest days of the year and we were toasty warm. We loved the colors and artistic touches! We really want to come back when it's warmer! Thank you, Sarah!

    Suzanne2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • You will absolutely love this house! It is warm and welcoming and perfectly comfortable! It has that certain "old world" charm and character, but with modern touches like Wi-Fi and Netflix! It is so quiet, you'll sleep like a baby!

    Marie2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot to relax after visiting all of what Downeast Maine has to offer. Even in the cold months, this place is warm and inviting. The fresh eggs, organic coffee and creamer along with the artisan bread, gives you a delicious breakfast without having to go shopping. You now have the whole morning to visit the local shops or take a day trip to Canada! Stock up at the local IGA and you will have all you need to cook dinner at home if you like, or step out to the local pub for a bite. Sarah made it all very easy and I will be recommending any friends or relatives that come up to visit as we have now purchased a home in the area! Great stay and a super host!

    Marie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z

  • Lovely one bedroom apartment, in the heart of Eastport. Great views from the kitchen and deck! Very clean and comfortable. Joan was in contact with us, from the start, and very accommodating of our late arrival time. She gave great suggestions of things to do in the area. We couldn't have been more please with our stay!

    Lisa2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Joan’s place. The location is heavenly — with a whale watch view we will never forget! ( Minkes, Fins and a tail waving humpback all visible from the deck!) The decor and furnishings are elegant and so comfortable. Joan is such a lovely and most welcoming host. We can’t recommend it enough!

    Sam & Christy2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect, clean, lovely community. Joan was wonderful, informative. Apt is clean. View is breathing taking, particularly sun rise.

    Brooke2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Joan’s waterfront location was an absolute treat! The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for our visit to Eastport. Be sure to bring you’re binoculars for whale and porpoise watching in Passamaquoddy Bay!

    Laurie2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place on the water in Eastport. Clean, special touches and Joan was always quick to respond to questions. She left some tips for us for local restaurants. Great location and you can get to Canada quickly either by traveling to lubec or up to St. Stephen. It is somewhat odd by itself but that is the beauty of this location. Local galleries and stores are open but mind the hours, mostly only open in the summer hours. Would def recommend this place to others coming to this location .

    Lindsay2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Joan provides everything you could need right down to spare toothbrushes. The apartment was perfect for 2 people. The deck and the view was perfect way to start or end your day. Lots to see and do and Joan has all kinds of information on area attractions. Don’t miss the Reversing Falls especially before high tide. Bog Creek Cove park had beautiful hikes. The best seafood chowder was found at Old Sow Grill that recently opened. I heard the better whale watch was off of Campobello And don’t forget to pick up a souvenir at Sea glass and Stone Everyone we met were very friendly. Definitely will be back. Thanks Joan

This lovely cottage is a hidden gem. Small in size but ENORMOUS in views! Just off of Main Street in downtown Lubec, the cottage is tucked behind a church on a short private lane. 180 degree views of Johnson Bay, Dudley Island, and Popes Folly from the back deck and yard.
The cottage is perched on a hill overlooking the ocean. A perfect get-away for enjoying Nature's beauty..while still being in town close to events and amenities. June-August, Lubec hosts SummerKeys : a season of music workshops and concerts. You will hear the ocean sounds mixed with music. Free community concerts are held throughout the summer. We are pet-friendly. We do need to know what and how many to make a judgement call if the cottage is a appropriate. NOTE: The cottage exist between 2 time zones. If your phone it set to roam, it may show Atlantic time (Canada) in the bedrooms, but Eastern Standard Time in the kitchen! I got up an hour early twice during my stay. But I spent the extra hour enjoying the wonderful view, so it was a win anyway! Your cell-signal may be iffy at the cottage...but if you turn call-over-wifi on, you will be covered.
  • Amazing views, clean cottage!! Caters to our fur babies!

  • Need a place to escape your troubles? Look no further than this perfect cottage with a beautiful view and everything you need to just relocate for a few days. I brought clothes and some grocery money. Literally every other thing I needed was provided! Out of the way in a small town with great views, privacy, and comfort, this was the best choice I could have made!! Clean, comfy, and homey—I loved every second I was there. Great spot for exploring the area too—perfect homebase for Roosevelt Campobello International Park and other regional interests. Thank you for a wonderful autumn respite!!

  • Quiet place with great views! We came during the off season so a lot of places were closed but we still loved it. Shore View take out has good food with good prices. Went to Bar Harbor for a busier scene. Take 182 for the scenic route to get there. Carol Sue and the co hosts are amazing. Very accommodating and thoughtful. We felt so much at home. Will definitely stay here next time we come to Lubec. Thank you so much!

Modern one bedroom/one bath apartment in a historic building in Eastport Maine. 700+ sq ft with a full kitchen and a washer & dryer! Living room windows and deck have amazing views of the Passamaquoddy Bay and Campobello Island (Canada). Relax indoors on a comfy chaise and enjoy the view or sit on the deck in zero gravity lounge chairs. Area info on F.a*c.e-b.o*o.k., search for "Eastport Vacation Retreats - Eastport Maine". Book three nights or more and the rate is discounted. No cleaning fee!
The building was built in 1887 and has been beautifully updated. Our part of the building includes our store, on the ground floor, and the apartment, above the store. PLEASE NOTE: There are 21 steps up to the apartment. The deck is accessed through an oversized window in the living room or via two flights of stairs from the lower level. The apartment when designed was set up with a couple in mind - the bedroom does not have a door. An additional mattress is provided - it is a twin air mattress and can be put in the living room or in the bedroom.
Eastport is a beautiful small coastal city in downeast Maine (see the website VisitMaine then go to Places to Go -> DownEast & Acadia -> Eastport) There are numerous shops and restaurants in walking distance. (Many are seasonal and things tend to close early in Eastport.) There is a grocery store within a mile. The town is fairly pet-friendly. The breakwater, behind the apartment, is an active pier that you can even fish from. Stay in Eastport to get away from it all and relax or venture out. There is lots of fishing and hiking in the area. Cutler is one of our favorite places to hike. Other places to visit include the lakes in the region, the town of Lubec and the city of Calais in the US. Bring your passport and visit Campobello, St. Stephen, and St. Andrews in Canada. Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are a couple of hours away and the ride is beautiful! We are biased; we LOVE the area!
  • We loved staying at Theresa and Chris' place! We wanted a quiet get away and it was just what we were looking for. Highly recommend!!

  • A wonderful, comfortable apartment with a million dollar view. The in town location makes everything walkable. A perfect place to enjoy Eastport.

  • If you are wondering where to stay, stay here. This place is amazing, we expected it to be great from the other reviews but we just didn’t anticipate how beautiful the rental would be or how amazing the views would be, simply magical.

    Jeremy2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for a couple.

    Mat2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was during the Eastport Salmonfest. The apartment was comfortable and modern, and very convenient to the action. Being able to sit out on the balcony for the sunrise was fantastic, and the fact the the bedroom faced the street kept the morning harbor activity from disturbing our sleep. A nicely appointed apartment in a beautiful area.

  • Delightful B&B in scenic Eastport. The view from the back deck over the harbor and Friar Roads is a delight. Don't miss a walk/hike in Shackford Head State Park.

  • I could not say enough positive things about our entire stay. The property and location are absolutely, positively, gorgeous and cozy. Also, extremely child friendly which is a huge plus for us! The sunrises and sunsets were so beautiful over the water, which could be seen from the picture windows. Everything was spotless and the check in/out process were a breeze. We stayed in the off season, but will most definitely be back during the summer.

  • GREAT house - great location. You won't be disappointed

    Donna2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra’s house was perfect for our family of 6. Recently renovated, with so many great and appreciated amenities. The kitchen was especially well stocked! Beds were comfy, and with each bedroom featuring nice design touches. Downstairs was perfect for our 4 kids who enjoyed the “map room” with bunkbeds, books, puzzles, and a darling rocking horse. TVs were easy to use with our Nexflix account. The view across to the bay, especially at sunset, was lovely to watch. The house is only a 5 minute drive to Eastport village, where there are tasty restaurants, shops and amazing whale watching opportunities. Sandra was an incredibly responsive host! We truly enjoyed our time!

Our lovely modern 2 bedroom apartment overlooks the harbor, is right on Water Street, Eastport's main street, and is easy walking distance from restaurants, shops, ferry ( not working during summer 2018, we're really hoping it returns in 2019!), library, pier...everything! It has a full kitchen, living room with amenities. Our bed linens are 100% cotton, washed in hypoallergenic detergent, and "air-dried" in the fresh Eastport salt-air.
This is the best location in the entire city of Eastport! Very centrally located, you can walk to everything! Watching the boats come into the harbor, seeing whales, porpoises, seals, eagles from your window, seeing the sun rise each morning over Campobello Island, unbeatable!
Located in downtown Eastport, guests can walk to restaurants, shops, galleries, post office, library, grocery store, ferry to Canada. They can get fresh seafood on the water, go fishing off the pier, go on a whale watch.
  • Nice place with lovely support.

    Carolyn2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This clean, modern apartment provided the perfect setting for a relaxing weekend in Eastport. We even saw Minke whales from the deck! We will definitely return as soon as we can.

  • This is my second time staying at Barbara & Tom’s rental in Downtown Eastport. The best location you can find in Eastport. Highly recommended.

  • Great place for a quiet, restful stay. Well appointed and stocked for DIY breakfast- a real plus for early birds. A park and bakery /pizzeria are within walking distance.

  • I have to agree with all the previous comments, this is a wonderful place to relax and unwind. The apartment is very clean and comfortable. The water views from the apartment are spectacular. All the restaurants and shops are within walking distance. And if you want to avoid the shops and the street, there is a paved walkway along the water. If I am ever in the area again, I will definitely stay here !

    Lorraine2019-08-16T00:00:00Z

    Doug2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is in a gorgeous location. Watching all the activity is always interesting. The apartment is light, full of windows, comfortable and clean. You can walk to restaurants, shops and around the neighborhood. People are welcoming and friendly. From Eastport we explored Washington County and made a day trip St. Andrew's NB. This was our third time in the apartment and we will be back! (We weren't bothered, but if you are a light sleeper, the road noise starts very early in the morning.)

We weren’t sure what types of restaurants we would find in the off season, but had an excellent dinner in Lubec and found a cute diner for breakfast in the morning. Bunkhouse Cabin located in the middle of the property. It has a deck with two adirondack chairs. The upper level has one King. and two twin beds. Flashlight for illumination. A full bathroom with shower, as well as two outside showers are right down the hill at the Red Barn, where kitchen and laundry are also available.
  • Rossport by the Sea is beautiful and serene. There are a variety of options for housing. We stayed in the Bunkhouse cabin; and although it is very rustic, we loved it! It was just a short walk to the barn where all the normal amenities are located: bathroom, kitchen, laundry, etc.. We enjoyed talking to both Deb and Ross, as they bring such a unique character and energy to their place. Ross took time to sit down and give me a fascinating history of the area. There are some fabulous walking trails that weave in and out of the woods and right down by the bay. We took a walk to watch the sunset out on the point and could hear the gentle sounds of cows grazing in the field a ways off, while we watched people out digging for clams on one of the islands. It was everything I had hoped for my first New England experience.

    Renee2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rossport is unbelievable! It is a beautiful location and a unique place to explore. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. You can enjoy fresh eggs from their chickens and say hi to pigs and cows all with an ocean view. It’s awesome!!!

We went fishing with Windjammers! Elizabeth told us about a beach in Eastport were we found lots of sea glass and watched the sunrise! The bedroom was on the second floor, the stairs are a little steep. I don't think that was mentioned in the listing. We did not have any issues with it but if you have physical limitations it may not be right place for you.

Enjoy the views of the Lubec Channel from this unique second floor loft! This conveniently located loft is out of the way but still close to town and Mowry Beach and Stockford Park. The Fisherman's Loft is bright and clean. The loft has a fully equipped kitchen with full size appliances. Enjoy the ocean breeze from the deck while you have your morning coffee or just relax while watch the fishing boats come and go in the channel. The homeowners welcome guests to share produce from their garden.
This spacious loft is the entire second floor of a restored barn. It is fully furnished with everything one needs for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a washer and dryer for guest use on the first level. The bathroom is full size. There is a full size bed as well as a twin day bed to accommodate additional guests. It is tastefully decorated and painted with fun, artist chosen colors. All linens are provided. Storage space for bikes, golf clubs or kayaks is available in the clean, well-organized space below the loft. This is an all around great space, great location, and a great value.
The Fisherman's Loft is a short walk to Lubec village waterfront, concerts, restaurants, library, brew pub, museum and public beach. It is easy to access many local trails and West Quoddy Head Lighthouse. Campobello Island, where you will find Roosevelt Park and the golf course, is just across the bridge!
  • Sweet place for a stay in the town of Lubec. It is a loft and, although small, has everything a single or couple needs. Distant view of water, morning sun, fully stocked kitchen, and convenient to hikes as well as walking to town to dine. Very well appointed with nice linens. A creatively restored quiet ambience in a very quiet coastal Maine town.

  • What an amazing trip I had!! The loft is charmingly perfect, clean and spacious. I was traveling on my own with two small pups and stayed a week. Pat & Gary, the homeowners, were wonderful. They were in the house next door and when I checked in there was a sweet bouquet of flowers, chocolates and a handwritten note welcoming me. They had a book of local things to do, restaurants, places to see, which was incredibly helpful. The town is picturesque and I never ran out of things to do each day. Most daily sightseeing is at max an hour away driving, but Campobello is pretty much across the bay and I had no issues getting in and out of Canada. Every town was dog friendly, I brought the pups with me everywhere and walked in and out of stores with most shop owners giving them treats everywhere we went and bowls of water outside most shops. In the morning and at night I sat on the deck and watched the seals playing in the harbor. The whole trip was magical and I fell in love with Maine! I felt so comfortable, like a home away from home. I will absolutely be back again!!

  • AMAZING STAY!!! The private loft above the garage was immaculate and very cute. It had everything we needed. It felt very homey and welcoming. There is a lovely deck that overlooks the Lubec Channel. We spent a lot of time relaxing here listening to the sounds of the town and the tides flowing in and out. The hosts had a binder with info and things to do on the area (which was very helpful) and even left some fresh flowers and locally made chocolates for us. Speaking of the hosts, they were so friendly and helpful. This includes the neighborhood cat who visited us on the deck quite a bit. It is also in a perfect location as it is literally steps from the water and a beach and maybe a 2-minute walk to the lovely downtown. Long story short my wife and I had a lovely time staying here and would come back in a heartbeat.

  • Clean, homey feeling place to stay. It's roomy and comfortable, well organized with a great view. Be among the first to see the sunrise in the US. Communication was great, our every need was met.

  • This place was great. Had the whole house to ourselves. Had everything we needed. Water pressure was great, kitchen had everything we needed, was very warm. Perfect for a quiet getaway to the coast in winter.

  • What a treat to stay at the historic West Quoddy Lifesaving Station. The location is stunning, quiet, and offers a great deal of peace in a noisy world. Decorations are aesthetically consistent with the space- spare, New England, nautical, historically rich- clearly a lot of care has gone into making an inviting space that retains what makes the Station and the northern Maine coast so special. Check in was effortless, communication quick and easy, and the place was spotless. This is one of my favorite airbnbs and I can't wait to come back.

The locals once called it "The City" Dark Harbour is its name. Enjoy peace, serenity and beautiful sunsets! This cabin is nestled around the bend on the beach of Dark Harbour Pond. Fully accessible by vehicle when the tide is down. When the water rises you can enjoy complete solitude or throw the kayak in and go for a paddle.
This is an "off the grid" cabin on the beach in Dark Harbour, Grand Manan. There are 2 bedrooms and a sleeping couch to accommodate up to 7 people comfortably. We have recently installed a rainwater collection tank although there is Fresh Mountain spring water flowing near by. You will be surprised to find indoor bathroom facilities. These include a solar shower and toilet! It's rustic, cozy and beautiful! There is no power, other than solar and battery powered lights. Hence the rustic nature of this location. *we are continually working towards comforts of home to serve you better. But for now the beauty and serenity of this place will be enough to make your trip to Grand Manan the most memorable vacation spot yet!
The road to Dark Harbour is winding with quick turns and very high cliffs. Please take care whilst driving. We are just 5 minutes to the convenience / liquor store in the village of Castalia. About 10 minutes from the Ferry landing. All other sites and locations are within 30mins away. The island is only 21miles long so getting around is a piece of cake.
  • Very quiet, clean and serene! We enjoyed our weekend stay and plan to come back!

    Chantal2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful off the grid Airbnb perfect for getting away, enjoying the nature and a nice cozy evening by the fire place after exploring the island. It was exactly what we needed for a weekend getaway. Brenda and Jennifer went over and above to make sure we were well taken care of. Had a great time and can’t wait to come back one day.

    Al2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had no problems planning our outing around high tide to plan our outings, and felt very comfortable parking our vehicle in the driveway during high tide. There are a few things that required us to do differently because of the cottage being off grid; however nothing that made our stay unbearable. You cannot drink the water that is coming out of the taps however the owners provide plenty of drinking water. The refrigerator is small so bring coolers with ice. There is a small TV with a DVD player and lots of board games but the best part is being able to walk the rocky beach.

    Una2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place will change your life in a mystical way, if you let it.

    Jay2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in early October. Jennifer’s mom met us there and showed us everything we needed to know about the place. We quickly learned to adjust with the tides and parked next to the camp or on the road as needed. Beds were very comfortable, and in spite of being off the grid, the solar panel provided all the electricity we needed, and there was plenty of drinking water provided. Grand Manan is a beautiful place and Dark Harbour is one of its unique spots with lots of history as well. We enjoyed using the kayaks that are there to explore the harbor. We were impressed with how comfortable and cozy the place was. The only thing some might find challenging is the shower situation. There is a stall in the bathroom with a shower bag that you fill up with warm water. The toilet is like a camper toilet and easy to use. We loved our time there in Dark Harbour, and found Jennifer and her mother’s place to be an exceptional value for a beautiful spot.

    Brian & Sherrie2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot in Dark Harbour! Jennifer and Brenda were amazing hosts and the cabin was great! We weathered through hurricane Dorian but were all set because the place is solar powered. It’s away from the busier side of the island so it’s a nice little spot to really enjoy the stars and hear the sounds of nature.

    Kaeley2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! Everything was great! Jennifer was amazing to deal with!

    Dana2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a cozy spot in an absolutely gorgeous location. It is very secluded, dark and quite. We stayed up late one night and watched as the tide come in while star gazing. One night it rained and the rain tapping on the tin roof made the whole atmosphere super cozy. Bed was very comfortable and the owner was accommodating, letting us bring our dog and providing things like hot water. We loved our stay! The only thing we had a problem with was the shower situation at the cabin. We ended up at a campground for a hot shower after hiking all day!

  • Wow! We spent a chilly winter weekend celebrating our first wedding anniversary. It was perfect, we woke early to see the sunrise at the light house which was walking distance and snuggled in at night to the cozy cabin. The town is quiet in the winter and not a lot is open but it was so worth it to get to meet the local community and get a glimpse of this perfect little community in its offseason. I would highly recommend staying here no matter what the season!

The breakwater is an active pier that you can fish from.

  • This is one of the best AirBnB experiences I’ve ever had and I’ve stayed at many. Brett’s place was spotless, quiet, and comfortable. The kitchen was fantastic and we really appreciated having access to a washer and dryer after a week of camping. We also enjoyed the access to Netflix in both the living room and our bedroom. The location is perfect... just a 10 minute walk to downtown Eastport. We were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful art galleries and shops downtown and we easily and happily spent a rainy day exploring. I highly recommend staying with Brett and would stay there again without hesitation.

  • This cottage is all about the spectacular ocean view. The back wall of the cottage facing the water have big windows which open so you can enjoy the view in any weather. The first floor living area is large and the 3 bedrooms are upstairs. There is a hiking trail on the property, and several nearby. It is possible to kayak in the bay depending on the weather. The town of Lubec is nearby, with several restaurants specializing in local seafood. The cottage was sparking clean and Juanita responded to questions in minutes. This was a perfect vacation getaway.

  • Boot Cove Cottage is a lovely place, obviously recently remodeled. Simple, clean, easy to make yourself at home. It has everything you need. The location is the best, beautiful view, close to town but no drive by traffic. We had a fabulous week. Thank you Juanita.

  • This house is incredible. The previous review did such a great job of explaining the charms of this home that I won't go into too much detail. Just expect serene peace, loads of space, friendly helpful hosts, and total relaxation in a magical setting. You won't find more solitude on a beach anywhere in Maine. And downtown Lubec is just a few miles away. I will be back!

    Miriam2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of four has rented Boot Cove Cottage for a week every summer starting in 2015 and it is consistently one of our favorite weeks of the year. Our boys, now 8 and 10, love the rock beach and climbing on "the big rock" and hiking the nearby Maine Coast Heritage Trust trails. They love picking blueberries and bunchberries and raspberries in August and seeing seals bobbing in the water and finding buoys washed up on the shore. We love the nearby lighthouse, ice cream in town, the friendly librarians and the helpful guys at the hardware store. We love walking outside the house at night and reaching up to brush stars in the Milky Way as they dangle just a few inches above our fingertips. We love digging clams in nearby Sebasticook State Park and driving on to Eastport to sample the many mustards at Raye's Mustard Mill. This year we went on a great whale watch with the Eastport Windjammers. We love driving over to Campobello Island to see the Roosevelt Cottage and look for sand dollars on the beach. This year we caught mackerel, five-at-a-time off the pier in Lubec at high tide. We saw bald eagles and osprey and a kingfisher, all in Boot Cove, and on the whale watch we saw Minke whales and Finback whales and harbor porpoises. There is simply too much to do in a single week. The trails out on Boot Head are an amazing asset of this rental property...you don't need to drive to a trailhead...you can enter the trails via a short walk down the road or via the beach at Boot Cove. There are terrific plants (and berries) and eagles and partridge and stunning views along the rocky cliff shoreline. And the trails are quiet, except for the pounding surf and an occasional lobster boat. You may meet one or two other respectful hikers, but many times we hike the loop without seeing another soul. A short drive down the road we also like the hike at Hamilton Cove. A few words about the cottage itself. It is nicely renovated and a great space for our family of four. The kitchen is super functional and has all the appliances and gadgets you'll need to cook and bake. The dining room gets lovely evening light. The sun porch is the crowning feature of the first floor...a long line of big windows looking down on the beach...the windows on the ends have screens for airflow, but the host has removed the screens from all the windows in front of the sofa and chairs so your view of the beach will be crystal clear. There's a fun chest of card and board games and a table to play them on. Upstairs, two of the bedrooms have a view of the sea and the third has a south-facing window with a view of fireflies over the garden in July and planets marching along the ecliptic all thru the summer. There is...

Ever dreamed of finding private seaside solitude on the rocky Maine coast? Camelot sits upon an isolated thirty-foot cliff overlooking the Atlantic. At high tide, waves crash against the sandstone rocks. At low tide, a hundred feet of beach is revealed for shell collecting, clam digging and rock skipping. With no roads within a half mile, you might not see another soul during your stay. Enjoy peaceful off-grid cabin life. Campfire cookouts, stunning views, and cozy beds.
Camelot is a 420 sq.ft. A-frame cabin built by my father in 1965, and completely renovated in 2018. It has a small upstairs loft with a twin bed, perfect for kids. On the main floor it has a queen bed, a sofa, another twin bed, and coffee table. The oceanside deck has 4 comfy camp chairs overlooking Canada across the bay. A hammock swings between two big Maine birch trees. It is off-grid. No electricity. No heating. No running water. No TV. No wifi. It is a comfortable, peaceful getaway, as it has an outhouse, a 5 gallon solar shower, a huge marine 120 quart cooler that will keep food cold for up to 6 days, a 5 gallon drinking water cooler, a big propane cooking grill, a small propane campstove for morning coffee and eggs, and battery LED lanterns for evenings. It is stocked with everything you need - plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, silverware, coffee French press, sheets, pillows, blankets, Scrabble, playing cards, a big Bluetooth speaker (crank it up- there's no one around to complain!) Dogs and cats are welcome!
You are in the Maine woods! No human neighbors whatsoever for over a half mile in any direction. Complete isolation. You will see lots of birds, and possibly seals.
  • Beautiful spot! We spent a lot of time looking for sea glass on the beach, it was refreshing to be alone and disconnected from technology, highly recommend!

    Trish2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin! Exactly what we were hoping, a real getaway. Wish I could have stayed longer.

    Alice2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is an amazing spot for a relaxing off grid getaway. Sam provides clear information for what to expect and has thoughtful touches throughout. The beach and the view are spectacular.

    Nancy2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This offers a unique experience of off-grid living. The cabin is very basic but very comfortable with everything you need to enjoy your stay. We had signal all the time and offers you a way to charge your phone in your car. The view is amazing, and the nights are even better, very quiet, secluded and with lots of stars. The only downside for some people might be the outhouse, and no heat inside the cabin aside from plenty of heavy blankets (although we didn't have any issues in our short stay). It was a great experience overall, if you want to stay in a unique place to enjoy nature and completely disconnect and enjoy a quiet moment in nature, then this is the place, you will not regret it.

    Paolo2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Simply the best location for a Maine getaway. Private beach, and no one around for a 1/4mile in any direction. Beautiful cabin in scenic Maine.

    Robert2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an excellent time at Camelot. The views cannot be beat - and we woke up early both mornings to walk the beach at low tide and watch the sunrise. We loved loitering at Pulpit Rock, a short distance south along the beach. Sam has thought of everything in the cabin - from the griddle to the binoculars to a can of cooking spray, which we forgot. We hung out by the campfire (bought wood from the neighbor, which was super convenient) and took in the scenery - the ocean, the seals. Like other guests, we found loads of sand dollars and beach glass. We kicked on the heater for a little bit before bed - but were totally cozy during our stay. During the day we hiked at Cutler Coast and also Campobello Island, and Camelot was the perfect base camp. Thank you again, we will definitely be back!

Happy Crab (best chowder) and Quoddy lobster (best haddock sandwiches) are great places to eat. The fridge and cupboards we stocked with breakfast foods. Watching the river completely empty twice a day and filling back up with the tide was amazing. Would recommend visiting Downeast Maine and staying here. We had an amazing week!

80+ private acres nestled on Cobscook & Passamaquoddy Bay, 1.5 Miles Ocean Frontage. Retreats and events for 300+ are available. We can sleep 2-64 people, in 32 bedrooms 12 privately located Cabins, Cottages and Houses.
  • Ross provided a clean facility with his own blend of organic coffee to wake up each morning to the beautiful view of Cobscook Bay. The stony beach provides easy walking along the shore. We enjoyed walking the nature trails on the large property. We’ve stayed in other cottages overlooking the open ocean next to coastal communities before only to be awoken pre-dawn by the roar of diesel engines on lobster and fishing boats. Ross’ setting is secluded where you can watch the rapid rise and fall of the Cobscook tides disturbed only by the sounds of nature. Without the large boat traffic, we were able to kayak and catch mackerel without concern for boat waves. Add in the deer, bald eagles, and beautiful sunsets and you have a much needed relaxing and comfortable stay. Thank you Ross!

  • Ross was an incredible host. We wish we had more one on one time to hear more of his stories. Ross is the real deal and a good person. His property means so much to him and the pride he has for his land, farm and guests is incredible. We will definitely be going back next year. Eastport is an amazing community that we thoroughly enjoyed. As we were pulling away from Rossport, we had a reminiscing conversation of the beautiful bay view, privacy and the special Belted Galloway cows. We had a wonderful few days and look forward to summer 2020.

  • Right on the bay, scenic. Immaculately kept, private.

  • Ross was a great host! Great way to unplug and get away from the city. The house was clean and Ross was very accommodating. Had a blast!

  • If you are heading downcast...you must stay at Rossport!

    Heather2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ross and his staff were great! The property was INCREDIBLE and the cottages clean and lovely. An extra bonus of being able to collect fresh eggs in the morning

  • Ross is a fantastic host with a great property. We enjoyed that it was quiet, secluded, and waterfront. We rode our bikes into town which is a quick jaunt away. Ross provided everything we needed and was easy to talk to. We'd definitely stay here again!

  • What a beautiful spot! Our family of four enjoyed this spacious house with stunning views on our road trip through costal Maine. This was definitely a highlight. Our daughter loved the animals, wild blueberries and apple trees and we loved the Adirondack chairs overlooking the bay. Ross is a real character. Super friendly and welcoming.

  • Thanks, we loved the place and the location. Morning sunrises were spectacular. Even in October you could sit on the deck in the sun and enjoy a morning cup of coffee. Super clean and comfortable. Great place!

  • It’s a great place to stay close to everything. Sun rise us amazing.

    Jane2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic space with a great view of the ocean. Location is perfect to see the area. The lighthouse is a quick drive away and the home is close to some great restaurants. The owners also own a restaurant. We weren't able to go as it was a holiday, but next visit we will make our way there! The home was perfect. Games, blankets, and thoughtful additions (check out the bathroom door) made for some great memories.

  • My husband and I spent 4 days at Kristy & Kenny's cottage. The location was ideal for exploring the very far northern Maine coast and the accommodations fit our needs perfectly. Highly recommend Campobello Island - the hikes and views are beautiful and the history of the island was quite interesting. Also recommend Quoddy Head State Park. Able to hike along a ridge as well as wander along a very nice beach and it is only minutes from the cottage. Special touch that I so appreciated was a large display in the cottage of all kinds of brochures re: the area. If/when we visit the Maine coast again we would definitely stay here.

    Linda2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to find, very clean, and also awesome interior design. Great hosts!

    Carol2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice and convenient location in Lubec. We loved how clean and spacious the house was. The view is very pretty. The amenities were all we had hoped for. If I am ever in the area again I would definitely stay again.

  • This cottage was great! We arrived after dark in a rain storm so we were pleasantly surprised at our gorgeous sunrise and view of the water in the morning. We had everything we needed and had some time to explore Lubec and Canada (lighthouses and whales) and relax with coffee and games. We only wish we had a few more days to stay!

  • Neva's place on Campobello is as spectacular as the island itself. I have visited Campobello many times and have always stayed in Lubec, Maine. But in the future, I will return to Neva's place. The wood floors, paneling and ceilings give the place a rustic but modern look. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable, as are the bathrooms. There is a great sitting room with a fantastic view of the water. The yard facing the water offers several great places to relax including near the edge of the water. I wish I had more time to spend there and next time I will. Neva has created a special place on Campobello that will not disappoint her guests in any way. She is a highly recommended host.

  • Just a wonderful place to visit . The area is a gem to visit , I can now see why the Roosevelt's enjoyed this Island . Neva pointed out all the wonderful things about the town . Would have liked to take the ferry to the Island but we did not have time, maybe next time. We did find beach glass enjoyed looking for it.

  • This is an awesome location. We watched whales from the porch. Neva is very nice and knowledgeable about the area. A great view, good host, and a clean comfortable place to stay. Just doesn’t get any better than that.

    Pam2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • We were following the route of Hurricane Dorian and were forced to shorten our stay. Neva was a great help and making sure our arrangements worked out OK. She is a neat and wonderful host - I teased her about our ocean view not being perfect as we did not spy an eagle but the whale sighting, fireworks, in Eastport, and nearly full moon made up for the shortfall. The space is as pictured - we were able to enjoy our meal in the wonderful common area. The internet was out on the island which forced us to enjoy a disconnected evening. We hope to get back to Campobello soon - it is a magic place.

  • An absolutely spectacular place right on the water. Very restful and well located for visiting Roosevelt International Park, restaurants and hiking. Stunning water views. Neva is a delightful host who also gives you privacy.

  • A wonderful place to stay and close proximity to all the Island offered. The view was spectacular and we enjoyed the lovely sunsets and beauty of the bay. Neva was very gracious, friendly and offered many suggestions on local food, things to do and places to visit. We truly enjoyed our first visit to Roosevelt Campobello International Park!

  • Neva is a wonderful host who knows the area very well. Pictures are true to form. You will get what the pictures show and her place is very clean and comfortable. It is directly on the ocean and watching a sunset from her chairs with a glass of wine seems like a nice way to finish a day. Cheers ;)

    Ronald2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Neva's place is super special. The sunset from the living area was one of the highlights of my summer! What a magical place. I knew nothing about Campobello before arriving, but had great fun exploring and learning about the island. Neva is a gracious host and her place is set up perfectly to host people. I met a couple of nice couples while there too. I would love to come back again to stay!
