Mixed review. Location is amazing, no question. Neighbourhood and view - stunning. Ease of travel and location to cafes and groceries, perfect. Depending on your requirements, this may/ may-not be the correct place to stay. If you are a single and merely require a place to sleep, its a great wee stay. We were a couple, in NYC for 8 days which made some aspects a more difficult. Bed: Only a single bed. Not suitable for two adults. If you are a couple, be aware, one will be sleeping on an airbed. Noise: Expressway directly outside your window. This is LOUD and will require some getting used to. Heightened if it is windy. Old building and windows that have a steady breeze when shut. Bathroom & kitchen are sufficient. Will be an excellent room/stay with a few tweaks.

I enjoyed staying at Melisa's apartment. The room is really spacious and the bed is comfortable. The apartment is really clean and the kitchen is sufficient. Melisa provides towels, sheets and she is always accessible by text and call. The view is amazing, you will be waking up to Manhattan skyline. The room and the view is exactly how it looks like in the photos. Considering the quality of the space, it is very affordable. Brooklyn Heights one of the safest and historical neighborhoods in Brooklyn and this is a great building to stay at. Despite the highway, the windows are really well structured and it is impossible to hear anything from outside. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

This was my first time using Airbnb and I've got to say, Melissa went above and beyond for my friend and I during our visit. She is a very friendly gal. Made sure to check on us from time to time and had a clean space for us ready when we arrived. Bathroom and room were packed with things we may need. Oh and I can't forget that view! It's even better in person. The neighborhood is extremely safe and comfortable I would recommend for anyone traveling alone, with friends or even with family :) it is close to everything. Walking distance to Brooklyn bridge, a few minutes from the city and access to all subways. Very welcoming and convenient area. Definitely hoping to visit again soon!

Melissa was very quick with responding to us prior to and during our trip. Her apartment is in a nice and safe neighborhood of Brooklyn, and the view of Manhattan is amazing. Would recommend to anyone!

I had great time in Brooklyn Heights at Melisa's apartment! The pictures were accurate. The kitchen is small, however I don't think it's easy to find a large kitchen in any NYC apartments. Melisa was always available by phone and text and it was really easy to reach out to her. The view is amazing, so is the neighborhood. It is near several subway lines, which makes the transportation highly accessible to different places (approximately 15 min from wall street). I would definitely come back!

The view is really amazing! You will love it. Melissa is nice and very helpful person. She was always reachable via text. Room looks exactly as in photos, do not expect anything more, and a little bit too much dust and dirt for my taste but I belive Melissa will quickly fix that :)

Bathroom was fairly clean but was hesitant to shower at residence. I wasn't sure how clean the shower was/is. 4. It is right next to highway so noise can be an issue. Fortunately I can drown it out but if you are a light sleeper this may be tough to do. 5. The room is fairy small so it may be tough if it is more then one person trying to stay there.

Kelsey was a great host. Communication was smooth, fast and everything was clear from the beginning. The place couldn't have a better location: practically in front of the metro lines 2,3 (1 stop away from Wall Street); 15 min walk to Brooklyn Bridge. The area was charming and had plenty of breakfast/brunch places. The apartment itself was clean, full equipped and very confortable for a weekend trip to NY. I highly recommend it and would repeat if I come back to NY :)

Shari's place was awesome! Haven't been to Brooklyn before so it was a great base as the location was perfect. The bed was nice and comfy and everything was nice and clean and a good shower!

Shari was very welcoming and made me feel at home. She greeted me when I arrived and helped me settle in pretty quickly. Had full use of the kitchen (which I didn't use), and both her and Moby (her fluffy white dog) were super friendly. The location couldn't get better - a short walk to subway and close to all sorts of restaurants and pubs.

I expected a more pleasant and spacious accommodation given the pictures ... the room is very small, faint with good dust tat on the ledge. The canine odor in the living room can be disturbing for sensitive people. The host is very friendly and helpful and the location of the apartment appreciable.

Nice experience - Shari was very nice and her home was charming as stated in the description. A very good alternative to pricy hotels in NYC, and a feeling of being "local" to boot!

Safiah's place was a delight. Great neighborhood, and Safiah herself greeted me to make sure I got in and situated. She even bought me a bunch of bananas, which was very much appreciated.

Safiah's place was perfect for our stay, and it was very easy to coordinate getting keys when we arrived. The apartment is very comfortable and well-appointed. If you have any accessibility issues, however, this might not be the place for you since there are several flights of stairs to get into the apartment. If a few stairs don't bother you, I'd definitely recommend this place.

Sephia was a wonderful host, so full of information and help. The location of the apartment was perfect for us, we could walk to most things we needed and the subway stop was on the corner! Everything we needed was in the apartment. The hard part was the 5 flights of stairs, but we took our time and got used to it.

The apartment is exactly as described and the location could not have been better. Safiah is very nice and extremely helpful. We would love to rent the apartment again next time we are in New York.

My husband and I had a very pleasant stay at Safiah's place. The apartment is exactly as described. A real one bedroom with plenty of space for two people plus luggage. We slept very well. The only thing to note is that the bed is a full (double) not a queen. She left us everything we needed - extra linens and blankets, towels, toiletries, coffee and tea. I used her wifi and desk to get a little work done in the mornings before heading out. The apartment is in a fantastic location right across the street from the Clark Streets subway station. From there you can take the 2 or 3 express to Manhattan and be in Times Square in 20 minutes -No exaggeration. Or you can walk over the Brooklyn Bridge. Take the train 10 minutes in the opposite direction to visit the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens/ Brooklyn Museum/ Brooklyn Library/ Prospect Park. The coffee shop next to the station had good breakfast and there are terrific restaurants in the area. Safiah stayed in touch with us- responding within minutes, and made getting the key and checking out super easy and on our schedule. She's a delightful lady and a great host.

I was brought up in Brooklyn Heights and every time I return to the NYC area I like to visit there. During all of my past such visits I usually stay at a Manhattan hotel. But this year I decided to look for an Airbnb rental in the Heights and found Safiah's apartment. I exchanged several messages with Safiah and she was always quick to respond. I was not able to meet here though since she was away on travel at the time. However she arranged for a good friend to check me in which worked out well. Its a warm, bright and cozy space. I will certainly see if its available the next time I visit NYC.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The location is fantastic. Safiah was a great host with helpful information about the area. She was very prompt in responding to any questions I had before and during my stay. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Safiah's apartment! It's clean, quiet and half a block away from from the subway. Manhattan was literally minutes away! Brooklyn Heights is a beautiful quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of downtown.( I highly Clark's Restaurant right across the street for excellent breakfasts.) Safiah was a warm and inviting host who made sure we had everything we need. She also gave us a brief tour outside and pointed out the local necessities. She also sent us to the "Promenade" which is a raised walkway 2 blocks away that has sweeping views of Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge!

Very nicely decorated apartment, decorated in beautiful colors. The kitchen is spacious and very well equipped (with coffee). The apartment is located in the basement with a kind of private entrance, it offers plenty of space, and in summer the chance to sit outside. The hallway is huge, and at the entrance there is a cloakroom for storing the clothes (good in the rain). Bathroom is also great. Luke is a great host, the apartment is very well described and he was very helpful when we initially had some problems. The bedroom is large and has enough space to house his things, even the bed is comfortable. The couch in the living room for two smaller children safe enough room for our two teenagers (16 and 18) it was, however, very narrow (1.20 m), and there in the living room, no storage options for clothes. The residential area is just great, totally street sweet, very quiet and you quickly walk at Trader Joe's (around the block rum) in 6 min. In the subway, now in the Court Street (many restaurants) Atlantic Street (also very cool), and you can even walk in 45 minutes to Manhattan Downtown walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. a must in good weather! Just genius. We have the apartment totally enjoyed during our five-day stay in New York because it offered total relaxation and tranquility after exhausting sightseeing. Very highly recommended!

The house was great and in a wonderful location.

Awesome garden level apartment with a ton of space. I've stayed in 2-br apartments in NYC that were smaller than this. Lovely remodel, open social space and wonderfully appointed bathroom. It was nice to have a private yard in the back even through we didn't use it. I ate 3 meals in the neighborhood and shipped around the corner grocery twice!

Luke's place is a top choice! It's spacious, tasteful, newly renovated and located in a beautiful neighborhood. It's a short walk away from the subway and the Brooklyn Heights promenade with the amazing view of Manhattan. It's in a quiet street but Court st with all its shops is just around the corner. Luke was an attentive host and communication with him was effortless. Would definitely stay in this lovely apartment again!

We were visiting our daughter in Brooklyn and so Luke's apartment was very strategic. Hot water and AC worked. House was clean. Bed was not firm but "springy". Later in the morning there was a lot of thumping on the floor above us but not in the evening. Luke answered all emails within the hour. I would stay there again.

Fantastic apartment - very spacious and good location. The code (instead of a key) meant check in time was flexible and easy. Control over the heat in the bedroom (it couldn't be turned off) would have been a big plus. Would definitely stay again.

Anyone considering renting this apartment, after reading the very detailed description by the host, please read my experience: The location is a few steps from all Brooklyn's stylish hussle and bussle where nothing is left to be wished and with the Big Apple just a short subway ride away! Stephen decorated his apartment to a level of elegance and comfort I seldom encounter on my many trips! His attention in offering the best to his guests starts with the selection of furniture and goes to details as soft bed linens and bathroom dressings. And a top notch kitchen with all one can wish for and more! I came to celebrate Christmas with my daughter who lives in Brooklyn for many years and who also was impressed with his impeccable place. Stephen surprised me with lovely Christmas basket of delightful goodies! On my next trip back to Brooklyn ( usually every 45 days), I'll make sure to check availability at his place before any place else. ( and I know I'll be competing with the reader!) Patricia Corbett

A really lovely, clean and comfortable apartment that is perfect for vacation! Stephen is a very friendly gentleman. The neighborhood is quite and the location is close to the subways. This apartment has everything we need and it feels really like home.

Norman is a very good host. He met me on time, provided all necessary information, was punctual and helpful. When I had problems with my phone he helped me call a taxi for the airport. He is liberal about checkout hours. He provides a useful list of grocery stores, restaurants, subways. In short, I was made to feel at home and genuinely enjoyed my visit. The apartment is lovely , well located, in a vibrant, upscale neighborhood. It is safe at all hours. There is easy access to most everything. Getting in to Manhattan by subway is no problem . Perfect setting for a New York adventure.

If you are in New York for sometime, or even a short time, it is really nice just to get away from al the busy streets, people and traffic. That's why we loved the location of the apartment. It is in a quiet and really safe neighbourhood, it has lot's of nice restaurants and deli's around. What's also really nice is that you can just walk down 2 blocks and take a stroll al long the river and enjoy a really nice sunset with the Manhattan skyline as your background. The apartment is really clean, has a real home feeling, there is a great kitchen with everything you need to prepare a good meal. Also Norman the owner was really nice and was easy to get in contact with if we had any questions. He left us some recommendations for restaurants in the neighbourhood and he put fresh flowers around in the house. We thought that was really nice and added a certain touch to the apartment. We loved staying here and can recommend this amazing apartment to anyone.

We had a wonderful three night stay, and the location was perfect for us. Not only was it around the corner from our daughter, but we had great dinners each night, all within a short walk from the apartment. The apartment was spotless, sunny, and very cozy. The kitchen has been designed so carefully. The owners have great taste. Norman and his partner contacted us a few days before we arrived just to make sure we had his number, so when we arrived, they were there waiting for us. They are both very polite and friendly, a really nice couple! We would recommend this apartment highly.

We were very well received; Norman and his friend were gracious hosts and full attention, also very helpful and always contactable. The place is very nice and neat; the main room is sunny, there is a beautiful light that makes the apartment very warm, more windows overlooking a lovely garden. The kitchen is very well equipped, the room is also storage space had been made available to us. We stayed with our two children, we felt immediately at ease; it really is a beautiful space and people absolutely adorable We thank them warmly.

It was the same as the photo and the area was great with a lot of great restaurants and vibes. Do recommend to try.

We felt at home from the very moment we walked into this sweet apartment. The location was perfect and centrally located for exploring a few adjacent Brooklyn neighborhoods. Norman helped us with our bags when we arrived and left us a list of his favorite restaurants. The promenade was a short picturesque walk from Norman's place and we really enjoyed the evening view of Manhattan. The apartment was clean and cheery and equipped with all the necessities. Norman had placed little pink vases with orchids in every room. It was such a sweet way to welcome us...My daughters and I hated to leave!

C.T. has a nice, clean apartment in a great location. Close to coffee shops, grocery store, subway stops and a short walk to the promemade to view the beautiful NY skyline along with the Statue of Liberty. A great place that we would stay in again on our next trip to Brooklyn.

As other reviews have said, this is a great rental in a perfect location in Brooklyn Heights. The space is large, minimalist style decor, very comfortable furniture , well equipped kitchen , great hot water and wifi. Guests might want to note that there is no microwave (and still, oddly, only one coffee mug!) . In addition, C.T. is a great host who stays in quick contact and was very helpful when an emergency caused me to leave 2 nights early-he was even able to refund one if the nights, which was an unexpected and great help for me. The close access to many subway lines is terrific, in an amazingly peaceful place (other than a soprano who practices scales every morning the other side.of the bedroom wall:-) ) given how short a walk it is to a major busy thoroughfare. I recommend it highly to anyone wanting a peaceful home on a lovely street while visiting the bustle of NYC .

Mario is New York I cannot imagine better NYC experience than with Mario. He, as original Newyorker, enriched my stay to new boundaries. His openness, unique mindset and personality inspired and shown me real face of New York. Mario not only hosted me in a really great (perfect) location, not only provided huge bedroom with clean, well organised with local touches bathroom and kitchen in a historical building at Brooklyn heights - he as well committed his private time to show me around, talk about history of the area, shown me best restaurants. He found as well time to have interesting evening talks with me on varied really interesting (and sometimes serious) subjects. Mario’s photography time will remain with me as well for long time after I leave NYC - thank you Mario. Great, great experience. I would recommend Mario as the best host in NYC.

It was my first time travelling with Airbnb and Mario was a very friendly and helpful host. In the first mail-contact he gave me all important informations for travelling from the airport to his home. Although he still had previous guest in the house we were allowed to assume our luggage even before the official arrival time. He welcomed us warmly and took us for a walk showing the surrounding, shoppings and restaurants. The room was prepared as shown on the photo, all was clean and comfortable. The house ist old and the rest of the rooms are dark as they were built at that time, but I like to stay in an authantic place. From the window you look at other buildings but just in a 5 minute walk you're at the promenade with a great view on the skyline of Manhattan. If I'll be back in NY I would stay again at Mario's home.

This was my first experience with airbnb and I couldn't have asked for a better host. Mario was very nice and warm, he told us all about the cool restaurants in the area. The neighborhood was very safe and lively, we were three girls and we had no problem walking up and down the street late at night. I definitely suggest Mario to anyone who's visiting NY.

If you are looking for a place to stay out of Manhattan, that is still as close, this is it. Mario is an absolute gentleman. We arrived quite late in the evening when we stayed, however Mario still came out to greet us and assist with getting a parking spot. He then took us up to put our bags away and took us on a small tour of Brooklyn heights, explaining all the good and bad places to eat and drink. The accommodation was perfect for us. The subway is a 5 minute walk, which is only 1 stop from Wall St and Uber is cheap as well to get into Manhattan. The layout of the house gives you and Mario plenty of privacy, you have the kitchen and bathroom in your area and Mario has a door closing his section off. I have no doubt if I am back in NY, I will attempting to book Marios place again.

I had a great stay at Mario's! The room was exactly as pictured and described, huge and serene! The bed was firm and comfortable with fluffy pillows and extra blankets as needed. There was a ton of closet space, too. Most of all, Mario was so welcoming and friendly - we had a great chat. I really loved staying here and would love to come back!

We were really happy we found this place. What a great location! Wonderful street with charming coffee and pastry shops. Great neighborhood for walking. Try the great Thai restaurant on the corner! Would happily stay here again.
