Places to stay in Box
A rare opportunity to stay in a huge first floor period apartment in one of England's most beautiful cities. Beautifully restored by us and with easy access to the city centre and countryside beyond. Free on-street parking and a space saved for you on request.
Ready
CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: We are open and able to offer the perfect place for social distancing, working from home or just different 4 walls. Rates are reduced and any cancellations are offered free to NHS front line staff. As we offer an entirely private apartment we are still able to offer a beautiful but rather different experience. Whether your holiday was cancelled or you wish to self isolate or work from another location or just sick of the same four walls. We can offer a car to apartment welcome and will greet you personally with a smile not a hand shake. Myself and Daniel clean and maintain the apartment personally to the highest standards and we use antibacterial treatments on all surface, particularly regularly touched areas. We are also laundering linen and towels at a high temperature of 90c. Hand wash is provided as always The apartment has Netflix/Tv and fast broadband suitable working from home or just play. The kitchen has all you need and a supermarket is literally 5 mins walk away. If you decide to venture out on foot, beautiful and quiet countryside and canal walks are just 5 mins away As we speak Bath and attractions and most restaurants and pubs remain open and should be lovely and quiet for once. This may change but the delivery services in Bath will happily bring the best local restaurant to your door. (We have an intercom so can be left at the door)
  • Great apartment. Very clean great amenities - home from home!

  • Daniel and Anna's place is a perfect place for a base to explore Bath. Daniel met us upon check-in and showed us round the beautiful stylish house. Breakfast Infront of those massive windows was a great start to each day. Would stay again :)

  • If you're lucky enough to find it available, book it! Communication was perfect, Daniel is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The flat is simply perfect and spotless. Shower is great, bed is comfortable, living room incredible. We had parking and they even let us park after our booking was over. We were late to free up the parking space but Daniel being a great dude was understanding. The flat is close to everything (15 min walk to center) and there are great pubs around. The view is amazing. Possibly the best Airbnb experience we had so far and we've been using it for 4 years. Book it now!

  • Daniel and Anna's apartment is a stunning space! It's in a great location well tucked away from the crowdedness of the town centre, situated in a lovely local neighbourhood with easy access to shops, bars, restaurants and also the more secluded areas. We enjoyed walking everywhere from here and waking up to the spectacular view over the fields everyday. The apartment has wonderful period features, natural light throughout and is spacious, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. It has all the amenities you could need and is decorated with many thoughtful touches. The hospitality was exceptional - we felt so welcomed and enjoyed having great chats with Daniel. All the local tips made our stay even more memorable! Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and special getaway to Bath.

    Faaria2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was just as lovely as the pictures suggested and Daniel and Anna provided much appreciated additional details including reserving a parking spot, and that amazing bread - thanks!! It's a brilliant starting point to explore all Bath has to offer and we thoroughly enjoyed the walk to the city centre each morning and afternoon, getting to know the area. It's a beautiful city, even in the stormy rain(!), and we are really looking forward to staying here again in the future and perhaps walking into the countryside as Daniel suggested. We would heartily recommend staying here!

    Sophie2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful apartment set in an ideal location. Daniel and Anna were great hosts with lots of local knowledge. Would definitely return to Bath and stay here again.

    Mark2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our few days in Bath and found Daniel and Anna’s apartment exactly as described. The whole apartment is lovely and warm with masses of hot water and all the facilities needed for a relaxing stay. We particularly appreciated the reserved parking space, super-comfy bed, great view over the city and delicious home made sourdough loaf! Thank you!

The price was very affordable for a one night stay. Both Tony and Theresa were lovely to talk to and communication was great. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice getaway whilst also being in a great location.

  • Lovely place, we had a great stay. Fantastic kitchen, with everything you could need. Bed lovely, only downside was that the bathroom and shower were quite small. Overall, we really enjoyed it. :)

Little Orchard is a beautiful Bath stone building which was once the potting sheds and outbuildings for The Orchard. It is a large airy space with a huge cosy bed, woodburner, bath and kitchen area. A perfect retreat 20 minutes from Bath! There are no hidden cleaning fees with this listing - the price is as listed plus the AirBNB booking fee. *****in these times where we need our health professionals and workers more than ever I will give a 25% discount to anyone who works for the NHS *****
The Space Little Orchard was converted from what were originally gardeners' potting sheds and outbuildings. It is separate from our house, across our gravelled driveway. It has changed greatly over 200 years and is now a large airy barn style room with a separate bathroom with bath and shower over. There is a small kitchen area with breakfast bar, sink, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, toaster, kettle and all you need to make breakfast or simple meals. There is also an electric one ring hotplate for crispy bacon or fried eggs! ***Please note there is no oven******If you would like a welcome pack we can provide cereal, croissants, juice and other breakfast basics for two people at an additional cost of £10. In the main room there is a zip and link super king-sized bed which can be split into two singles. We have a travel cot for small visitors, and can provide fold up beds for small children although floor space is quite limited. The space is not really suitable for 3 adults unless you are all very friendly! There is a lovely woodburner, and we provide logs and kindling. Little Orchard has its own entrance and off road parking space so you can come and go as you wish. There is an outdoor seating area for al fresco breakfasts, and a rustic seat outside the front door. There is a television, DVD player and wi-fi. There is also a bookcase full of books for cosy evenings by the fire. Bed linen, towels and tea towels are all provided. I also provide tea, coffee, and milk. There are two fitted thermostatically controlled electric convector heaters in the main room, a fan heater and heated towel rail in the bathroom and the woodburner. NB You can book for one night apart from Fridays and Saturdays when there is a 2 night minimum stay.
The Neighbourhood Little Orchard is set in lovely countryside but within easy reach of a multitude of attractions. You will wake up to the birds singing, and we are situated in a Conservation Area. Bathford is built on Roman remains, it is known as 'the walled village', and in the woods at the top of the lane you can find the remains of the stone quarries that supplied Bath with its beautiful stone. There are some lovely walks from the cottage, and lots of pubs and cafes to visit. One of our favourites is the Mill at Bathampton, by the river. You can get a boat from here into Bath as well in the season. Check the Pulteney Princess for times and cost. There are two pubs in the village - one at the bottom - the Crown Inn - and one at the top. The village shop is open 7 days a week and is a co-operative run by people who live in the village. It has a cafe, and stocks a good range of basics as well as fresh bread and croissants and local produce. There are two golf courses within 3 miles - Kingsdown Golf Club and Cumberwell Golf Club. You can walk down into the valley and in half an hour you will be walking on the Kennet and Avon canal at Bathampton. On most weekends and during the week in school holidays there is a lovely canal boat which serves cakes, sandwiches and coffee, or you can walk or cycle along to the Dundas Aqueduct at Limpley Stoke and hire a boat. You can also hire old 1920's and 30's restored wooden rowing boats and punts at Bathampton Mill and at the Bath Boathouse. There are also two lovely pubs in Bathampton - The Mill on the river and The George on the canal. We are just outside Bath to the East with views from the village of Little Solsbury Hill - Peter Gabriel lives near here and it was where he wrote his famous song! In Bath you are spoilt for choice with the Roman Baths, the Pump Rooms, the Royal Crescent, the Circus, loads of theatres and restaurants, Bath rugby, Thermae spa - (a rooftop pool experience not to miss, especially at night) Christmas street market, gorgeous Georgian architecture. There are festivals all year round including the famous Mozartfest in November, the literature festival, Jane Austen festival and food festivals. The Music Festival is in May, the Christmas Market around the Abbey in November/December and too many others to mention. Shopping is a joy as there are lots of independent shops and Bath is a very self-contained city. You can also explore the surrounding area into Wiltshire and Somerset. Stonehenge is an easy day trip as are Wells, Salisbury, Tetbury and the Cotswolds and Bristol. The Hauser and Wirth gallery in Bruton with its famous Piet Oudulf garden is about 40 minutes away, and has a great restaurant and exhibitions. National Trust properties in the area include Stourhead, Dyrham Park, Lacock ( Harry Potter filmed here as well as lots of period dramas such as Cranford), Prior Park Gardens , The Courts at Holt, Great Chalfield Manor (some of Wolf Hall was filmed here), and Tyntesfield near Bristol. There are some great restaurants and lots of my guests go out to The Pig at Hunstrete which is just West of the Bath on the way to the Chew Valley Lakes. There is also the Michelin starred Pony and Trap in Chew Magna run by Josh and Holly Eggleton. The Gainsborough Hotel also has a Michelin star. Lucknam Park Hotel and Spa is 15 minutes away and also has a Michelin star, as well as a lovely spa and riding centre. A great veggie option is Acorn Kitchen for dinner, or the Green Rocket cafe for breakfast or lunch, also Chapel Arts who do lovely homemade flatbreads. If you are vegan try Beyond the Kale in Green Park Station, open during the daytime only, or Nourish on the London Road which is vegan and open for lunch and dinner. Corkage in Walcot Street, as recommended by Jay Rayner!, is a lovely wine bar with daily changing tapas plates. For a curry try the Eastern Eye in an amazing Georgian building, and for Thai, Koh Thai Tapas in Broad Street. The best Italian in Bath is the family run Martini on George Street. There are loads of independent cafes, my favourites are Society Cafe in Kingsmead Square, and the Walcot cafe in an old Bakery, with a club downstairs for dancing. I also love The Blue Quail deli on Pulteney Bridge, lots of lovely South African food and cakes. There are a couple of old Bath pubs you shouldn't miss. The Old Green Tree in Green Street, wood panelled and very cosy, The Star on The Paragon, no food just great beer, and The Bell on Walcot Street, bought by locals to save it from closing and a great live music venue. In Batheaston there is Gather - open Tuesday to Saturday, mostly vegetarian with lots of gluten free and great coffee and breakfasts/lunches. If you like cocktails you have to go to the Gin Bar, and The Dark Horse in Kingsmead Square. We have great theatres from the old and venerable Theatre Royal, to smaller places like the Rondo in Larkhall and The Mission Theatre. The best cinema is the Little Theatre by the Spa, there is a little bar and it has great atmosphere. On a weekend head to Green Park Station for the food market on Saturday mornings, and various vintage and antiques markets on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Absolutely lovely space with some amazing touches including a piece of brownie which was utterly delicious....

    Martin2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Had such a lovely weekend at the beautiful cottage. Such a cute space, nicely finished and in the perfect location. We got the bus and went on lovely walks to Bath city centre. 100% recommend.

  • Fantastic apartment which we would fully recommend to anyone. Facilities were great and perfectly clean, good connections into bath as well! Couldn’t fault it, Karen was very accommodating and helpful :) 10/10 would stay again.

  • Amazing place, hope to return very soon.

    Jon2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for our anniversary weekend and could not have asked for anything better. The house was spotless and very stylish whilst still being very cosy (due to the wood burner that was already prepared for us). The fact that the house is not located in the centre of bath is no issue whatsoever as there are frequent busses from just outside the cottage and it only takes 20 minutes to reach the centre! The icing on the cake was discovering 2 delicious brownies which had been left for us when we arrived. Thank you Karen!

    Teo2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortably, self contained accommodation within easy travelling distance of Bath.

    Simon2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay and just perfect for what we needed.

    Adam2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful gem tucked away and private. So cozy (log fire, books, games and DVDs) - perfect for relaxation and escaping from the demands of every day life. Super close to the centre of Bath for when you fancy getting out and about plus lovely countryside for walking! Couldn’t recommend more! Much much nicer than a hotel in the centre!

Our lovely studio flat is situated on the first floor of Rochfort Place, Bathwick Street, a beautiful Georgian Bath town house which dates back to the late 1700s. With the original floor to ceiling windows and wedding doors, it is a truly magnificent studio.
Rochfort Place is just a 10 minute walk to the centre of Bath with its fantastic shopping and restaurants. You can spend time in the many museums, Roman Baths, or relax in the modern thermae hot spa and stroll to the world famous Royal Crescent. It is short 3 minute walk from Great Pultney Street and the Holburne Museum located in the stunning Sydney Gardens with the picturesque Kennett and Avon canal running through it. You can hire bikes, boats - the options are endless. The National Trust Prior Park Gardens are easily accessible. We have the Theatre Royal which has a varied programme and worth seeing what is on during your stay. The terrace which leads directly from the kitchen is a wonderful place to sit and reflect on your stay in Bath. Bath Spa train station is only a 15 minute walk through the city centre which provides hourly trains to London in 90 minutes and regular trains to the City of Bristol in 10 minutes. Modern comforts include a bathroom, a self-catered kitchen, wi-fi, a television and speakers. A rarity for a flat in central Bath, our studio has outdoor space which consists of a private balcony with table and chairs. Due to the balcony and safety, the apartment is not suitable for children/ toddlers - babe in arms only. There is plenty of street parking available and you will be given a permit for your car on arrival if required. We provide all bedding, towels, hairdryer etc to make your stay comfortable - a home from home. Although you are spoilt for choice with shops and facilities on your doorstep there is a welcome basket of a few things to get you started. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

  • This was our second stay at this beautiful apartment in the heart of Bath. Communication between Brenda and myself was amazing, any questions were answered promptly. The property is absolutely spotless, with really thoughtful touches throughout, and is only a 5 minute walk right into the centre! Thankyou for another wonderful stay Brenda, we hope to be back again soon!

Light the log burner in the imposing Georgian fireplace, grab a book, and climb into the plush bed with its William Morris-inspired headboard. This snug studio combines a historic feel with high-end fabrics and a soothing, muted colour palette.
The Little Studio has just had a makeover! We have totally reburbished it with a new feel. There have been a few more additions since the professional photos were taken so some of the shots are mine! The bedroom area has a log burner in the big Georgian fireplace, with a curtain to draw for those cosy nights in .It is equipped to a 5* standard with great attention to detail. Located within a 2 minute walk from Bath Spa train station, it is ideally situated for tourists and business people alike. Central Bath with all its attractions, shops and restaurants are all but a five minute walk from this little gem, you can even take a stroll into Bath along the canal. On the doorstep in the neighbourhood of Widcombe are 2 super gastro pubs "The Ring of Bells" and the "White Hart". ( Famous for their Sunday Lunch ) Also, a small supermarket open 7 days a week until 10pm, a launderette, a pharmacy,a collection of independent shops and a two cafes. Please note that the Little Studio is situated in central Bath and is within easy walking distance to all the sights and joys that Bath has to offer. As with all central locations in any city the benefits include everything on the "doorstep" eg. a late night supermarket plus two highly recommended gastro pubs and a couple of local cafés. The Widcombe Deli, run by Nikki and John, has great food, especially their Breakfasts. You can relax in there with the daily papers and magazines. Latest News, from the BBC 08/03/15. Bath is the Worlds third safest City. Thought I would just post this up. ***The Little Studio has been an Airbnb listing for over four years. I try to provide guests with a super comfortable little space that has everything they need. IMPORTANT: Please be aware that the little studio is small...... it can be booked for monthly stays, BUT as it is tiny unless you are out all day working etc it would not be suitable.
Widcombe is known as one of Bath's artisan neighbourhoods, steeped in local history. The area is very much part of central Bath, but manages to retain a friendly village vibe. Most of the city's sights are within 5 minutes' walk along the canal.
  • I stayed here because it was local to the area I used to work in Bath so knew the place well but was completely blown away by this hidden gem! The place was clean and well decorated which made it feel more like a cozy hotel room. Check-in and Check-out was very easy and very useful for us as we arrived late. There was plenty of information available on the area and the air bnb in the book on the table. The best bit however was the electric “wood burner” in the room- it added a real cozy touch and kept us very warm on a mid February visit. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend.

    Hattie2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The little studio was the perfect spot for our short Bath getaway. It was very cozy, beautifully decorated with some personal touches. Susie was very communicative and helpful - all in all a great host and a wonderful find.

    Jesse2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the studio was excellent, easy walking distance either through the city or along the river to both bus and train stations, shops and local attractions. Susie was exceptionally pleasant prompt to reply to any queries and questions. Check in was incredibly easy. The studio itself was clean and cosy and has a simple kitchen which had all we needed. It's small and by a busy road but it didnt bother us at all and suited our requirements perfectly. Would definitely recommend.

    Gareth2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little flat in a great location. Very close to the centre of bath and the train station. Extremely clean and had everything needed for a weekend break.

    George2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying in this little studio. Perfect for a weekend away and beautifully decorated. Made good use of the space and it had everything we needed! Great location too right by the River Avon and over the road from the train station- only about a 5 minute walk into town. Fully recommend.

    Charlotte2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • It is quite small but very cosy and great for hunkering down on some wet and miserable winter nights. Handy for shops and Bath

    John2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Spent the weekend here with my wife. We had a lovely weekend and loved the local pubs/restaurants. It’s a shame there isn’t a TV but the host has tried to manage this with a tablet. For the price I would definitely recommend this studio flat.

    Ashley2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my partner had a lovely time at Susie's place. Very clean and comfortable, had everything we needed. No TV but susie supplied an iPad for us to watch TV, not that we spent much time doing that as we were out visiting the Christmas markets which were fantastic! Warm and cosy and overall a lovely little place to stay!

  • We had a lovely two night break in Wiltshire in this quirky Airbnb. The space is lovely and plenty of space for two adults and a dog. The location is perfect. We enjoyed walked along the canal (3 minutes walk from the cottage) to get to the locks. Lots of lovely pubs and nearby villages to visit too. We could have stayed for a lot longer 😊

    Katrina2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This space is spot on for a retreat. Beautiful, simple, well designed space perfect for thinking, being still, praying, worshiping. In a beautiful countryside location with plenty to explore outdoors if that's what you want to do. Wonderful hosts. We are very grateful for the time. We used it as a retreat space for the beginning of the new year. Thank you

    Michael2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely self contain cabin, seems like a remote location with the final half mile drive to the cabin and their house but this is deceptive as it is actually very easy to reach all the main local highlights of Whiltshire by car. Deep in the countyside, lots of stars on a clear night, well away from the turmoil of a town, city life.

    Maria2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, great location by the canal, friendly pooches 😊

    Angela2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind this is it - Melissa’s gardens are beautiful and we were even lucky enough to borrow the canoe to explore along the country side by canoeing up the brook. Really an idyllic setting - thank you!

    Katie2019-08-27T00:00:00Z

with a spacious kitchen - large open space dining/ social area You are less than a mile from the centre and have the Luxury of private parking which is highly sought after in Bath! This home has recently been decorated and it's the perfect escape in Bath
The house is “hen friendly” only tame hens are welcomed. This house is an original Victorian property that has been recently renovated to a high modern standard. The property is set over three stories and has a large open plan kitchen/ social area as well as a Separate dining area. There is plenty of space for up to seven guests. There is a modern garden that is a wonderful sun trap and of course that off street Parking not a permit where you have to fight for a spot if you can even find one! You have parking for on car but if you have two cars you can block yourself in on the road so can accommodate two cars. There house spans over three stories. The house is really versatile and works for both families and groups of freinds. The property is ideal for families or small groups of friends not fit for stag or hen weekends unless very TAME. The house is in a residential suburb and it's very important to us that we respect the neighbours and the local community, no anti- social or noise pollution will be tolerated. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking with washing machine/ dryer /dishwasher . There is a large dinning table for guests. The kitchen has bi- folding doors leading onto the garden and a lovely seating area for warmer days.
Oldfield park is a busy suburb right on the edge on the city. It's home to moorland road which is full on independent cafes and restaurants as well as lots of shops if you want to stay local. Less than a five minutes there is a local Sainsbury's/ co-op/ threshers. Nail and beauty salons/ barbers/ The velo lounger serves food all throughout the day and cocktails too! The grumpy baker coffee shop As well as a lloyds and NatWest bank Just outside the house a few minutes walk is a large park (sandpits) for children. Perfect for families. We are also next to the two tunnels cycle path which links Bath perfect for cyclists/ walkers and runners Please Ensure this is the right location for you we love it so we are sure you will too but we are not smack bang in the centre just on the outskirts of the city centre as stated under 1mile it's an easy walk and fantastic public transport. parking in Bath is very tricky and expensive so we would advise to park locally

Barley is one of two newly developed apartments, in the heart of Box, a popular village only 15 mins bus or drive from Bath. In a previous life, the building was a skittle alley for The Lamb Inn but that rang time in the 1960s and is now our home. The units are a mix of country and modern, with oak beams and doors and atmospheric lighting. The aim was to create a stylish, light and comfy space with a homely feel, attention to detail and a little touch of luxury. A welcome pack awaits you.
The private entrance is up five stone steps and through the left hand oak door. The hallway leads through to the living area with a fully fitted kitchen, sofa-bed, DVD TV and a dining area. A comfy window seat offers a great spot to sit and enjoy views across the valley. Through to the bedroom and a 1200 pocket sprung kingsize bed, with 100% cotton white linens, will see you sleep soundly. This can be split into two singles if required. The corner wardrobe has generous hanging space and room to store cases. You can choose to lie in bed and star gaze through the skylight, or use the remote control to operate a blackout blind. There is a wall-mounted smart TV for late-night movies or lazy mornings. Both the living space and bedroom have sockets with USB points for easy charging. Underfloor heating is throughout. The en-suite has a 1100cm wide shower featuring a rain style and hand held shower. It also has a shaver point, heated towel rail, white fluffy bath sheet, hand towel and flannel, Cole & Lewis toiletries including liquid hand soap, body and hair shampoo, body lotion and a few other little extras.
Box is a bustling village just 5 miles outside Bath. It has a strong feeling of community and offers a local grocery shop that's open until 10pm, the 'Queen's Head' pub, a great Indian restaurant for eat-in or takeaway, delicious homemade cooking at The Birdhouse Cafe, a Methodist Church and Church Of England Church, a pharmacy, post office, hair dressers, butchers - all within easy walking distance of Barley. It also has a large, recreation ground with a cricket ground, tennis courts, football pitch, river, children's play area, toddler's play area and some stunning countryside for walks. Box woods are lovely to explore. Within a quarter of an hour's walk is The Northey Arms bar and restaurant serving excellent food and The Quarryman's Pub, a charming place with hard to beat views. The occupation of Box dates back to Roman times. It is known for its stone and quarries, Peter Gabriel's Studios and Box Tunnel, built by Brunel which is 1.83 miles long and can be seen from the bridge. The author of Thomas The Tank Engine, Reverend Awdry, lived in the village and felt the steam engines he could hear from his room at night, sounded like they had personalities. The stories begin! You can easily enjoy time in the village itself but most visitors will probably want to explore a few miles around too, with Bath, Corsham, Bradford-on-Avon and Lacock all close by and packed with wonderful sites to explore. More about nearby locations and places to visit is in the Barley information folder. Rain or shine, you won't be bored!
  • Lovely stay - great location and really helpful hosts

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Charming little place with all the things you didn’t even know you needed. Felt so nice to stay somewhere homely instead of a hotel. The place looks exactly like the pictures, decorated beautifully. Especially loved the electric sky lights and the power points with USB plugs, very handy! Breakfast was a nice touch, especially when the mornings were rainy and you didn’t feel like heading out! Every query was responded to quickly and Ray and Katy even offered up use of their washing machine (though there is a laundromat in Bath). Highly recommend!

    Paige2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to stay. It had everything we needed. Ray and Katy’s hospitality was outstanding. Being close to Bath as well was ideal for our weekend away. Would highly recommend.

  • Lovely unique building with a fantastic view, and only 15 minutes from Bath. The hosts were very quick to respond. We were provided with a lovely breakfast of bagels, cereal and orange juice!

    Pieter2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable & stylish rooms with everything we needed. The welcome pack of delicious breakfast cereals, milk, bread, butter and orange juice was great. We had a couple of questions during our stay and Ray and Katy responded straight away. Highly recommended.

    Jenny2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay in Barley. Ray & Katy were great hosts, with super communications throughout. The apartment is very tastefully decorated, cozy and clean with some nice touches. The perfect location to visit our family and see Bath. We would highly recommend such accommodation for anyone visiting this part of Wilts.

  • I stayed at the cider press for the week for work and absolutely loved it. Very lovely little cottage, wonderfully organised kitchen, and with bread and eggs kindly provided, as well as coffee and all the other amenities. Really lovely location, with the cottage attached to a main building, and a huge hot tub out back with an outdoor bar. Neither open because of the weather but intrigued for the summer! Wonderful location and I'd very much stay again.. And likely will. Thanks Deb!

This self contained, peaceful annex is located above a detached triple garage, situated in a quiet rural area, down a 100m long drive. We are easy to find off the main road and there is plenty of parking space. From the front door of the annex you look down across our garden to fields. We are well located for access to the historic city of Bath, Corsham, Bradford-on-Avon and Chippenham.
The main living areas are located in the roof space, above a garage used for storage only. Two large velux windows let light in from the woodland behind. The bedroom has a window in the end wall that overlooks fields. When you enter the annex you will find the shower/wet room and toilet ahead of you and stairs to your right. At the top of the stairs you arrive into a small, functional kitchen with an electric cooker, microwave, toaster and kettle. Teabags, granular coffee and sugar is provided but bring your own ground coffee to use with the cafetiere or hob-top espresso maker if you prefer. Up a couple of steps you will enter the main living area which includes a small table that could seat four and a small sofa that converts into a double sofa bed. There is a TV, linked to basic terrestrial channels, a DVD player and a speaker that links via Bluetooth to your devices. In the room beyond you will find the king size bed, a chest of drawers and hanging space. Although we have said that the annex sleeps two, we can, with prior arrangement, provide bedding for the sofa bed and even a thermarest mattress for the floor to make a very cosy, but economical, stay for a family of four. Please be aware that there is no stair gate down the stairs from the kitchen so we do not recommend very young children. There is garden furniture for you to use and again, with prior arrangement, you could use our firepit in our field beyond.
We are located in a lovely rural area and can recommend many great walks. The Quarryman pub is cosy and only a 15 minute walk away. The village of Box, with pub, Indian restaurant and takeaway and friendly cafe is a 20 minute walk down the hill in the picturesque By Brook valley. Beautiful Corsham, of Poldark fame, Bath and Bradford on Avon are all near by.
  • I had such a great stay at Laura's place, it was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfy, even looked to see what duvet it was so I could get the same! When we arrived, Laura brought a freshly baked loaf of bread for us as well as providing some milk and butter in the fridge. Her place is perfect for a little getaway and is only a short drive into Bath city centre. I would definitely recommend this place to others!

    Nicole2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time, it’s so clean, and such a great location. The host is really lovely too!

    Evie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay at Laura's annexe, and it was just as brilliant as the first. Nothing had changed- not that anything needed to- the annexe was wonderfully clean, cosy and relaxing. Laura has thought of absolutely everything. It has a full kitchen, with oven/hobs/microwave/kettle and every utensil you could need. Tea and coffee was provided, as well as some butter, milk and a freshly baked load of bread which was a thoughtful + nice surprise to find in the kitchen upon arrival. The bed is one of the comfiest I have ever slept in! Location is fab, quiet and secluded with some quaint villages nearby and only a 20 minute drive into Bath centre. My boyfriend and I were able to get Uber's to and from Bath, meaning you don't have to forfeit exploring the city for a relaxing countryside stay. Will no doubt be back at the annexe for our next trip to Bath!

Stunning barn conversion on the outskirts of Bath. With an industrial feel, Orchard Barn has all mod cons whilst looking after the environment. Solar panels, a ground source heat pump and heat exchange system ensure you are kept cosy without impacting hugely on the beautiful surroundings. Enjoy the views from your private decked area and wait for the free range chickens to lay you an egg!
Polished concrete floor with under floor heating throughout. Fully equipped kitchen. Free WiFi. Alexa. TV in lounge and bedroom. All towels and bed linen provided.
Set within a beautiful Wiltshire valley, Orchard Barn is ideally situated for rural walks, taking in the odd pub or two to recharge! It is also a short drive (less than 5 miles) to the historic centre of Bath, as well as the famous villages of Lacock and Castle Combe. There is a local cafe, bistro pub and Indian restaurant - all within a 15minute walk. Sainsburys is a 10 minute drive away, but our local budgens is always well stocked and open 24hours.
  • Wonderful place, stunning barn and great location (short drive to bath, ideal!) Can’t recommend enough!

  • We absolutely loved staying at Deb’s Orchard Barn. The chickens were a lovely surprise (didn’t think they’d be out as it was quite cold but they were happily clucking about). The area is perfect for public path walks & convenient distance to Bath - only about a 20 minute drive. If you’re looking for a cosy countryside retreat, this is it! Thank you!

    Holly2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely place to stay. Everything you need and a 15 min drive from central Bath. Very handy location.

    Michelle2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful weekend escape! We took a short bus trip into Bath city centre for some cocktails and shopping, before unwinding with a bottle of prosecco and a movie or 2 on Netflix. The fresh eggs were delicious, the surround sound system was perfect and the property was gorgeous!

  • The barn is absolutely amazing! If you’re looking for a getaway near and around Bath this is the place to be! It is about a 15 minute drive into the centre and there is lots of lovely villages around. The space is fully equipped with everything you need and more. You can easily cook a great meal with things already provided. It is spotless clean and all round just a perfect, warm and cosy place to stay. We had such a lovely time here. Deb and Jim are lovely, offering help with the area and replying to messages super quickly :) couldn’t have asked for a better trip

  • We really enjoyed Eleanor's apartment and found it really good value. Our only criticism was the lighting in the main room was not very good at night and we recommend the host exchange the cold light bulbs for warm ones.

Private Coach house with Free parking, Wifi, Kitchen and large bed
  • The coach house was easy to find and really nice and comfortable. It had lots of useful kitchenware and little comforts to make our stay better. The coach house was also very near the bus stop which made it so easy to get into town. At the time we went the local bus only took cash and not contactless payment but apart from that was a very easy and friendly service. There were also lots of pubs and restaurants nearby where we could eat too. We will definitely be returning to this wonderful place.

  • The apartment was in a beautiful setting and only 20 mins drive from Bath. Lynne was a very friendly host and the apartment was lovely and clean with everything you could need. I highly recommend it.

  • A beautiful and peaceful place, great for a get away from the city. The house was very clean and well equipped with everything you need including a very cosy stove looking out onto the valley. We took on board Lynne's recommendations on places to go in the area and were not disappointed. Overall we had a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend this home to anyone wanting to get away for a relaxing break.

    Sofia2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for a very enjoyable stay. Very clean, modern space. Everything you could possibly need. We will definitely be back in the near future - if you'll have us! Thanks again, Lynne.

    Helen2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely quiet apartment, with spectacular views, and is ideal for exploring Bath and the Cotswolds. It was spotlessly clean and well equipped, and Lynne gave us a warm welcome and plenty of info about the local area. We stayed on a cold January weekend, but were quite snug, even without lighting the wood burning stove! I can happily recommend Windsmoor View as a place to stay if you like off the beaten track, but within reach of lots of interesting places to explore.

    Carol2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect stay! Exactly as described lovely accommodation. Clean, fresh and modern. Thanks for the biscuits, they were delicious! Cannot recommend enough.

The apartment is annexed to Lynne's house but you honestly wouldn't know. It felt like completely our own place. Highlights include the cosy woodburner, fantastic views from the terrace and of course the comfy bed! Thanks again Lynne for your fantastic hospitality and we hope to be back again soon!

A romantic oak-framed retreat for two, beautifully furnished with luxury details. An intimate artisan-built vaulted space, peacefully located on the edge of a spectacular valley, just 5 miles from the Georgian spa city of Bath.
No. 5 is a contemporary gatehouse property, newly created using sustainable materials by owners Christabel and Daniel at the base of their drive that leads to their detached Wiltshire home. The traditional English Oak frame used to create this space was made possible through trees thinned out and milled within the local Westonbirt Woodland, by practising arborist Daniel; while the contemporary zinc roof features copper finials upcycled from a derelict pavilion formerly located at the American Museum in Bath. Inside, Christabel has created a space that is both boutique and big on luxury. Underfloor heating warms the polished limestone floor throughout, from the fully-fitted kitchen to the superking size bed to the bathroom, where you can enjoy a cavernous walk-in shower stocked with Neal's Yard products. The private outside paved space is perfect for a coffee on tap from your organic Lavazza dispenser.. with cafe style table and chairs. As a continued commitment to sustainability No. 5 features an electric car charge point for overnight use. Nearby Bath is easily accessible by car or bus stop 250m away.
So near to everything, though feels so far from it all! Relax in peace in the tranquility of No. 5 - on the sofa immersed in a book, TV, Netflix or Wi-Fi.. or take a day trip... jump in the car and within just 30-45 mins, visit any one of the following iconic destinations: Stonehenge Stourhead Estate Durham Park Castle Combe Village Lacock Abbey and Village Bath, Bristol and Beyond!
  • Excellent in every aspect. A beautiful, extremely high quality space. Exactly what’s needed for a relaxing place to unwind. Can’t recommend highly enough.

    Laura2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, well laid out space. Great amenities and high spec finishings throughout. The annex is very well maintained and extremely clean. Lovely little touches like Neils Yard toiletries and a coffee machine. It was nice after such a long drive to have milk, bread ect left for us, this meant we didn’t have to go out straight away to get bits we needed. Kitchen is very well equipped. If you plan to cook your self there is everything you need. A lovely quick walk to the local pub, The Northey Arms and a slightly longer walk to the village Box. 10 minute drive to Bath. Taxis and buses easily available. Christabel is a very responsive and helpful host. She recommended some great places to visit and to eat & drink. I would highly recommend.

  • Clean, stylish and calming place. A short distance from bath city centre, a fantastic and comfortable place to relax over the weekend!

    Carolina2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely adored our stay. The space was gorgeous, spacious, beautifully designed and equipped. Very comfortable, clearly built with skill and love! The bed is huge and comfortable, fluffy towels, amazing shower, lovely Neals Yard products in the bathroom, having a full kitchen was the best as we could cook together instead of going out (I'm coeliac so it really helps when I can cater for myself!). Thoughtful touches of food and drink in the kitchen. We had the best time, didn't want to leave and would happily move in forever. The location was great - in a quiet location but about 10-15 min drive from central Bath.

    Lucy2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, fantastic facilities, great location. Would highly recommend!

    Caroline2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely little house! Very stylishly furnished, with everything and more than you would need. Christabel was also amazing, she left us coffee, milk, tea, bread, crocroissants, jam and butter! The kitchen appliances were top grade and the bed is so comfortable and huge! There was also lovely shampoo and shower gel provided. We loved the stay and definitely would return. Thanks again! Also close to bus stop (to bath) and local pub. Christabel also has her own guide which was great. We visited Lacock which was lovely.

  • We stayed for 5 days. Penny is a friendly and interesting lady, who is very easy to talk to. She gave us good local tips and was genuinely interested in our local plans and experiences. She struck a great balance between being there when needed and giving privacy. The house itself is lovely. The kitchen is well equipped, better than we thought from the pictures. It was sparklingly clean. The garden is simply wonderful and the area behind the cottage feels very private and lovely spot for eating out. It's location is countryside but easy drive to Bath, Cotswolds and many national trust places. We also took the bus from local Box a short walkaway to Bath and back. Would recommend and hope to go back. Thanks Penny

  • A great hen party venue! A big communal area and a kitchen well equipped to cater for a large group. There are plenty of activities to do close by and it’s only 15min into the centre of Bath

  • The School Rooms Estate was perfect for our ladies birthday weekend away. The separate Lodge and Coach House worked really well and gave extra privacy to those staying. The accommodation was very comfortable and the host quickly arranged for us to gain access when we accidentally shut our key in the house. It was Winter when we stayed so we couldn't make the most of the outdoor facilities but I'm sure it would be a great place in Summer. There are some lovely walks and views nearby and the property is an easy 20 minute bus ride in to Bath.

  • A group of 17 friends and I had a great time staying at this accommodation for a hen party weekend, it was the perfect venue for entertaining a large group and Eleanor’s quick responses to any queries (both in the run up to and over the weekend) ensured that everything went really smoothly. We especially enjoyed being able to decorate the communal space (which was fabulous and very large) and the hot tub! Thanks for a fab weekend, would definitely recommend this for future hen dos ☺️

    Hilary2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, house was clean and tidy, hot tub just a small stroll from the house! Thanks for a great stay!

    Amanda2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Well recommended. Great property close to Bath and a very communicative host.

    Patrick2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • 15 of us stayed in this house for my hen do last weekend, we had the best time! The bedrooms were left with slippers for each person which was a lovely touch. We were really quite noisy as a big group of women and felt a bit bad about that but had no complaints! The living room area is huge with a big dining table and enough comfy seats for everyone. Those who are sleeping on the sofa beds do get the bum deal as the bathrooms are all en suite so if you need the toilet in the night you have to creep through someone else's room, however that can't be helped and isn't a big deal really. A great house for a big group of people.

    Susie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great setting for a big group, split nicely between three different buildings. Hot tub and pool are a dream, and the huge dining space too! Would thoroughly recommend.

The beds are comfy, good kitchen and dining table, nice bathrooms. It's perfect if you want to go out and explore and have somewhere nice to come back to, or also perfect if you just want to stay in and relax.

400 year old barn in landscaped grounds in Ashley near Bath. The barn and house are extensive and there are three individual and unique bedrooms available via airbnb. This dovecote double bedroom on the third floor has a double bed and an additional single bed. Extra charge for additional person for this single bed.
400 year old converted property with barn in seven acres. My home is in Ashley near Bath. Guests have said the photographs do not do this building justice and it has to be seen to be fully appreciate. There are extensive grounds and landscaped gardens with hot tub which can be used by guests for an additional fee.
This dovecote bedroom is on the third level of this period building. A double bed and an additional single bed accessed via stairs, are in this room. Bath is 10 minutes by car. Regular bus services to Bath, Box, Corsham, Lacock, Chippenham etc. Golf course and local pubs etc close by. The countryside around my home is stunning and views from my home enjoy these.
  • Booked Peter’s place for a birthday weekend getaway from London and I would highly recommend it. It’s spacious and incredibly clean meaning you can confidently take a large group - this was something i really struggled to find elsewhere. The barn is really really unique and stylish - also incredibly cosy in the bedrooms and you sleep very well. The location is secluded which is perfect for relaxation. The hot tub is a great feature and the view out of the back garden is outstanding. I have to give a special mention to Peter’s gorgeous and incredibly well behaved dogs, Freddie and Fenton. And finally, Peter is a great host, lots to talk about, very hospitable and I will definitely recommend his place to anyone who needs a little break from the norm!

  • this is a great quite place to stay, in a very secluded part of Avon... highly recommended...

    Paul2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Peter is a very welcoming host, very happy to chat and tell you all about the local area and useful tips. (Toby the golden retriever is also lovely, a very good-natured dog!) The barn conversion is really well done and to a good high-end finish, especially the bathroom. As others have said, the pictures on the site don't do the barn or the room justice, a few more would give a better picture of how well finished the place is and how cosy. The room was clean, warm and cosy with the exclusive use of the bathroom next door, which is nice and warm and well finished. I was rushing out to work so didn't get the chance to sample the breakfast.
