20ft up nesting between three sturdy oak trees this treehouse made of recycled timbers has uninterrupted views across the glorious north downs AONB. Cosy and private set on the edge of a barley field the only sound is the wind through the trees and birdsong. Heater and double glazing makes this ideal in winter or summer, and a chemical loo in the cabin at ground level adds a creature comfort. An induction hob, cool box electric kettle Nespresso machine and music system are all there.
The treehouse is cosy with plenty of space for a couple. There is a chemical loo downstairs in a cabin, and shower etc is sometimes available in the house which is reasonably close .... The idea was to create a relaxing space to read admire the views and enjoy quiet times alone or together. I really hope it works and so far the signs are good. There is no noise, but a village with two pubs and a restaurant just over a mile away.
The village of Elham with pubs and restaurant is just over a mile walk away over fields or country lane. Canterbury is half an hour by bus or 20 minutes by car. The seaside is 20 minutes away (URL HIDDEN) Margaret's bay, Folkestone ...
  • To date this is probably one of my favourite places that I’ve stayed in a long time. The tree house itself is no way near the owners dwelling. We had complete privacy where we felt very happy being isolated & secluded. We arrived very late & someone was there to meet us with a huge smile on their face making us feel very very welcome. In the morning the views were breathtaking. An extremely comfortable nights sleep & a lovely surprise freshly baked loaf of bread with a selection of butter, jam & marmalade and also orange juice & milk provided. We walked to the local pub, a beautiful walk. If you want to escape from the busy city this is your chance! The area is so beautiful & peaceful; country roads, farm animals, no traffic, plenty of green scenery. Upon leaving we met Mark who is absolutely wonderful. We had a great chat. He even offered to help us with our bags which was very kind. I absolutely loved my stay in the treehouse & I would definitely love to come back & stay again. Highly recommend! 10* 🥰

  • If you are wanting to get away from the world and have a few days of relaxation, this treehouse is perfect. Mark and the co-host were very friendly and made sure we were comfortable (including option to use a hot shower). Breakfast, which included warm freshly baked bread was delivered every morning. We have had a lovely few days of doing nothing in this picturesque setting, the nearest village is about 30min walk away and can be access through public footpaths which is much more interesting that walking along the road. Definitely coming back and suggesting to all our friends!!

  • We stayed for 2 nights for my boyfriend’s birthday and it was the best trip of our lives. It was so cozy and wonderful and Krisztina was so helpful and kind to us! We can’t wait to come back again. Also, they make the most delicious bread and jam for breakfast!

  • Absolutely gorgeous place and unique stay. We loved our trip!! We were staying for my boyfriends birthday and they had added balloons to the treehouse for when we arrived. The fresh bread delivered in the morning completed our stay! We also had a fantastic meal at the local pub, Abbott’s Fireside.

    Charlotte2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing! We loved staying in the treehouse, it was a unique stay surrounded by beautiful nature but easy to get to places such as Canterbury! Everyone was so hospitable, and helpful - would love to stay here again in the future!

  • Wow! Such a magical little place, great little getaway from London and is super tranquil and has all you need. Turns out it can even survive a storm!!

    Victoria2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was a lovely treehouse, very warm even when outside it was rainy and windy. Very thoughtful touches, a buggy for our way to the treehouse as it was muddy, and a ride back so we won’t have to carry a lot of things and walk, some games in the treehouse, candles and lovely home made bread for breakfast to top our stay! One of the best experiences me and my bf had xx loved it! thanks!

We went on a mission to find the perfect get-away from London. We discovered this beautiful grade 2 listed house built in the white cliffs of Dover and fell in love with it's charm. Ramsgate has a cosmopolitan vibe, a bustling Royal harbour borders a yacht-packed marina, awash with history and overflowing with continental charisma.
The house is in an amazing location on the beach front, this sun facing holiday home is a couple of footsteps to the golden sandy beach where the water is irresistible. The house is perfect for entertaining, the kitchen/diner has large windows with views of the sea. Spill out into the private front garden, take in the panoramic views of the shore and really soak up the sea air. Enjoy breakfast as the sun comes up or watch the stunning sunsets with friends and family with a glass of prosecco or two! Every great host needs an equally great kitchen table and ours is perfect for larger groups. To make life easier there is an intergrated oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, and microwave. The large lounge is situated on the first floor and benefits from a balcony with the same uninterrupted views, perfect for a spot of seagull watching! Relax on the comfy seven seater corner sofa, which is perfect to hang out and watch the smart flat screen TV or to simply wind down. To add to the comfort there is a separate three seater sofabed which readily converts into a bed with practical storage space under the seat for the bedding. The master bedroom is the most romantic place you could be, french doors open onto a balcony with picture perfect views. After a hard day sunbathing let the sea breeze waft into the room whilst soaking in the roll top bath, with a glass of wine whilst watching the boats sail to and from France into the sunset. A tranquil retreat! Next to the lounge is a bedroom with a bespoke contemporary double bunk bed made out of driftwood that sleeps four. It evokes the feeling of sleeping in a cabin on a boat, a iron wrought ladder replaces the traditional wardrobe and life buoys decorate the walls. There are two double beds in the converted loft, its accessed by a few fixed steps. The first level has a built in double mid sleeper and then up three steps, there is another double bed, but please note the bed is in the sloped eaves. There is a smart flat screen T.V with freeview channels. The shower room with toilet and sink is on the second level next to the master bedroom and next to the stairs for the loft, the shower is built into the cliffs. There is a toilet on the first floor level next to the lounge. Please note there are stairs to every level, which is why the lounge and bedroom offer balconies with breath taking views.
The house is in prime location, built in the White cliffs of Dover and a few steps from the sandy beach that stretches all the way to the next town Broadstairs. A five minute walk brings you to the bustling harbour which borders a yacht-packed marina where you will find pavement cafes and waterfront bars, where entertainment is plentiful. Awash with history and overflowing with continental charm, it's a must-see historic port, with a truly cosmopolitan feel. Turn left out of the house at low tide and walk the coastline to traditional Broadstairs (Charles Dickens Fans will appreciate). Browse the independent shops, stroll the promenade and explore the wonderful 7 Bays, where kids can scour the rock pools and discover the caves used by smugglers. Eat at the many restaurants on top of the cliff. Spoilt for choice: Nature lovers, walkers and cyclists have many paths to follow, locally continue on from town towards Westcliff this part of the Viking Coastal Trail will lead to Pegwell Bay (approximately 7km). Pegwell Bay is part of Kent's largest National Nature Reserve and the unprotected sea cliffs and reserve are of great geological interest, habitat to marine life, winter migrating birds and wildlife. Accessed by car Samphire Country Park in Dover & Folkestone provides a thriving ground for wildlife and tremendous views of the Channel from the top of the cliffs. On the way to Deal, Fowlmead Country Park has a playground for the kids and a (3.5km) road track set amidst panoramic views to the coast – bikes for hire and perfect for a fun family ride. Mountain bikers can take the off-road trails embarking on grassy slopes & short sharp climbs. Kids (and adults) can ride the BMX track for a small fee otherwise everything save for the cafe and bike hire comes free! A full active day out ! Starting from spring, boat trips from Ramsgate pick up for trips to Goodwin Sands, ideal for a special event or party. For the more adventurous kite surfing. The many sheltered bays, flat water and constant winds are perfect conditions for kite surfers. Ride Kite Surfing School operates courses from May to October, take a one day taster or undertake a certfied course, if you are really serious 1 to 1 lessons are available. Surf schools in Viking Bay and Joss Bay, hire out equipment and give lessons in paddleboard riding, kayaking, surfing or body boarding. Or sail away from Ramsgate Marina for a day trip out sea fishing or relaxing! July, 'Thanet at War' brings the 1940's vividly to life. Each August Bank Holiday, the Summer Squall multi-arts festival serves up a feast of workshops, exhibitions, film, theatre and dance Don't forget a day trip to Margate a 15-minute drive away or short train or bus ride, to see the latest Turner Gallery Exhibition and Dreamlands once again echos with the sounds (and screams) of delight and wonder, as visitors old and young enjoy the Great British seaside amusement experience.
  • Samantha was a great host , house is lovely and in a great location, would defiantly recommend.

    Riccardo2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Samantha is a wonderful, thoughtful host whose fabulous house is clean, spacious and incredibly comfortable! The location is amazing and the sea views are breathtaking! Our visit was extremely relaxing and reinvigorating! A great start to 2020! I would highly recommend booking a stay here!

    Maxine2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Samantha's house is an absolutely gorgeous place situated right on the beach in Ramsgate, with plenty of things to see and do nearby. We were all bowled over by the beautiful kitchen space, the ridiculously comfortable sofa, and the stunning view from the balcony. We'll definitely be back in summer!

    James2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is ultimately superb, we had 12 guests whom fitted comfortably, I was a little worried at first , however we could have had a couple of extra guest stay. The spaces are dived generously, so you can chill in the kitchen which seats up to 18 , or take in dramatic sea views from the ample living room above. We had lots of teenagers they were gaming and playing upstairs , where the adults could take advantage of the open plan dinning kitchen area on the ground floor overlooking the waves breaking on the sea walls, epic! Communication was excellent, and the wi fi , coped with all our demands. The location was spot on , a five minutes walk along a glorious stretch of sandy beach to the recently renovated Royal pavilion and the picture perfect marina and town beyond. A special place , fantastical value, we will be back, thanks Samantha for a place where we could enjoy life again.

  • This is a beautiful period house literally a stones throw from the beach. The views from each floor of the property were pretty amazing. The house is very light and airy, comfortably furnished, and the space is good for a large family.

  • I would highly recommend staying at Samatha's house! Samatha is a great host, very helpful, quick responses and lots of local information provided from herself and a lovely folder at the house. The house is beautiful, great location, a quick walk into the town and beach front so easy access to piers and walking along the beach. Very clean, tidy and spacious, perfect for a weekend away!

My small cosy one bedroom flat comfortably sleeps two sharing. It is located on a quiet residential street, has a private internal courtyard parking space and is a short walk from the city centre. It's location has fantastic transport links to London and mainland Europe.
With my carpentry skills I have created a space that has a strong theme based around reclaimed wood. It has a cosy living space of about 18sqm with a small dining table and sofa bed. There is tv and DVD player. In one corner of the room there is an open plan custom built staircase leading to a converted loft space. The bed space has a cosy and unique feel to it, having designed and built the bed myself. A short hall runs from the living room to the front door and provides access to the kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen is small but has everything you should require for your stay, including oven, microwave and washing machine. Likewise the bathroom is compact and fitted with wc, washbasin and full length bath and a shower, screen and curtain over the bath.
As well as great local connections, the is an extensive variety of places to eat locally in Canterbury. If you would like to eat in, or simply buy some supplies, there is also huge supermarket about a 3 minute walk away. At the end of my road there is a recently converted pub that is now a very reasonably priced breakfast/brunch cafe. If you fancy an alternative stroll into the city centre, you can join the 'Great Stour Way' (4 min walk away) which is a newly intoduced walk/cycle route following the Stour River. Opened in 2011 for Canterbury as a gateway to the Stour Valley and to the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
  • What a lovely little flat. Access was really easy thanks to directions given. The parking space was perfect and location wise spot on. Far enough away from the town to be quiet, but we walked it in 15mins on one straight road. The flat was clean, tidy and the little carpentry touches make it really stand out. Highly recommended. Thanks for having us 👌

Snuggle up in the azure, panelled bedroom at this cosy bolthole after a day at the beach in the sea air. Step through the dusky-pink door, whip up a snack in the snug, chic kitchen, then curl up on the sofa next to the rustic log pile.
This quaint, seaside haven sits directly opposite Whitstable's iconic harbour and beach. The central location is on the doorstep of the town's fashionable restaurants, bars, and boutiques.
  • A wonderful place to stay in the heart of Whitstable. Enjoyed every minute of our experience.

  • An absolute gem. Very sweet little cottage right next to the beach and central to Whitstable. Everything was within walking distance. Perfect for our needs. Lewis was great and made sure we had tons of recommendations and all our needs were met. Honestly couldn’t have asked for more.

    Jessica2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is full of character and definitely lived up to my high expectations. The decor is amazing with ocean blues and whites. The sunlight shining in at morning gave off a beach bungalow vibe. The amenities were also plentiful with breakfast cereals, tea, coffee and milk all provided, as well as shower gels and bath salt. If I'm ever in Whitstable again, this would definitely be the place to stay.

Lewis is a fabulous host, and made the place feel homely and cosy, providing us with recommendations on great places to eat and grab coffee. We had a great time and will definitely be back :) P.s you have to try Ossies Fish Bar when you visit! It’s the best!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Sally’s amazing earth house. Even during Storm Dennis, the house was cosy and warm, and really well insulated from the noise of the storm outside. Sally was such a friendly and helpful host, and we felt really comfortable during our whole stay. It’s also in a brilliant location, close to so many interesting places :) a great base to explore lovely Kent from. Thanks Sally!:)

  • Sally made us feel very welcome on our stay. We loved the unique experience and would happily go again.

  • Hi Sally, We had such a wonderful stay. Everything about the house was perfect - and thank you so much for being great hosts. We could not recommend the booking highly enough. All the best, Andrew and Shopna

    Andrew2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had such an incredible stay with Sally and Chris. The communication before the trip was great and we were warmly welcomed by Sally on arrival. The Straw Bale Studio itself is amazing. Despite it being a cold, rainy couple of days in November it was so warm and cosy inside. There were a lot of nice touches and Sally gave us some good local tips including a lovely cafe a short walk away. The place is a 2 minute walk to the train station (we rarely heard trains go past) and then a 5 minute train journey into Canterbury. Don't be put off by the compost toilet - it certainly adds to the experience! We can't wait to stay again.

    Daniel2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sally is a great host, always smiley and available. The place is unique and extremely cosy. Only potential downside is the toilet/shower outside but that, I believe, is part of the experience. Would definitely recommend!

    Nicola2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I had a lovely time in the spiral studio! We stayed on a rainy cold weekend, and it was very cosy and comfortable. Sally was very helpful and welcoming, even though we didn't meet in person. The home is 2 minutes on foot from the local train station, and there are some pretty walks nearby. The only thing I would mention is that the wifi is patchy, so if you are planning to watch films online, best to download everything in advance!

    Victoria2019-10-14T00:00:00Z

Anyone walking the Via Francigena with a credencial will get the room for half price ( I will give you the money back) and an evening meal. If I'm around I'll give you a lift to Dover or Canterbury. I walked it in 2017. The gaden has room for tents, so fill your boots.
There is a pub with a restaurant in the village, and also a village shop. The two nearby villages also have pubs, they are a 30 minute walk away along paths or road. Howletts wild animal park is a 20 minute walk away.

  • Excellent AirBnB with kind host and super facilities! Clean, comfortable and safe place in Littlebourne! Fantastic host Mick who makes you feel welcome from Day 1 and who genuinely cares for the well-being of his guests. 10-minute bus ride to Canterbury and the bus stop is just 5 minutes walk away from the house. Highly recommended! Thank you for your outstanding hospitality, Mick! I will be back!^^

  • The perfect spot for a lone pilgrim to rest their head!

    Tim2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is one of my favourite places, where everything is just so right, Mick is a great host and the house and the room is welcoming, clean, neat, stylish and gemuetlich at the same time. The house is quiet and the surroundings are too. The area invites you to explore, so many old houses, Canterbury is near and so is Sandwich, a hidden gem, unspoilt. I had only time for 4 nights but hope to be back in the summer.

    Ulla2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Mick is a very friendly and forthcoming host who really cares to make you feel at home. His place is a perfect base from which to discover the immediate surroundings as well as cities like Canterbury and London. Certainly worthy of a special recommendation! Henk

  • Clean and comfortable home. I am glad I chose it for our stay.

    Simeon2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a good-looking, friendly, caring, kind and humourous host, Mick is definitely the one you are looking for. Every corner of his house is tidy, neat and clean becauae he tidies up the whole place frequently. Mick is very sporty so sometimes he will ask you to go for a walk around Canterbury if you want to. By having walked with Mick around Littlebourne, I got the chance to explore and know more about Littlebourne history. Such valuable experiences I got from Mick! Highly recommend!

The Hangar is a private self contained space built onto our house, so-called because although it is modern, the houses in the area are built on what used to be a World War Two aerodrome where Spitfires would take off to fly across the English Channel. The Battle of Britain Museum is very close by and well worth a visit. The space has a double bedroom and small lounge area with a spare double sofa bed if needed. The new bathroom has a very relaxing power shower. Private patio area is included.
The living area has a double sofa bed which is suitable for one adult or two children. If you need to add more guests, please just email us. There area two patio/garden areas you can use. One is private to you and the other one is used occasionally by the family. There is a parking space reserved for the Hangar and is off road on our large drive. Breakfast is provided and will be a continental type. Tea and coffee making facilities are included and the room also has a fridge, toaster and microwave oven as well as plates and cutlery, although there is no kitchen as such but ideal for snacks etc.
The Hangar is located in Hawkinge which is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. There are lots of stunning walks and cycle rides on the door step. The coast with glorious beaches are minutes away in the car. There are several supermarkets nearby including a local Lidl’s only 10 minutes walk away. There are three local pubs within walking distance.

Booked this stay to take the ferry from Dover the next day and it was perfectly positioned. Lots of places to eat and pick up things you've left behind on your travels. Please do not hesitate to book. You won't be disappointed.

Only 15 mins from the Port of Dover by car. 25 mins from the Eurotunnel entrance. Close to many beautiful Kentish spots. A small single room in my home as a perfect stop over for the night or base to explore from. Note: This is my second room. Better suited for single occupancy. There are Dogs & Cats in the house. (Very Friendly we promise!) Just off the A2 in the quiet village of Shepherdswell.
A bungalow house with off road parking On the North Downs Way for walkers! And the Via Francigéna.
There are no places to eat in the village. Pubs that serve food are a short drive away or the Co-Op convenience store is at the bottom of the village. Shepherdswell is a small old Kent village. Sat on the North Downs Way. A stop for the East Kent (Steam) Railway.

The oldest part of Grade 2 " listed Barham Court dates from .1400, while the current facade was built in 1723. The house and garden were renovated by famous architect Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1911, and beautiful countryside is right on your doorstep
Beautiful Barham Court is a stunning well preserved example of English heritage. At the centre of the house is a large paneled dining hall with fireplace. From the entrance hall you proceed through the piano room to the grand central hallway, with wood panels and sweeping staircase. Upstairs are the living quarters with modern bathrooms and comfortable beds. Arguably, the highlight of the house is the garden and terrace , which we encourage our guests to use as much as they like. The house is in the heart of the village but with direct access to beautiful countryside.
Barham is a charming old village between Canterbury and Dover. The excellent local country pub serving great food and English ales is a 2 minute walk away. The house adjoins the local 14th Century church. The village is set in the beautiful Elham valley with lovely walking and cycling close by and there are several other excellent country pubs and restaurants in easy reach . It is an easy drive to Canterbury, Dover and to the Kent Coast We can give you lots of maps and information on things to see and do during your stay with us.

Peter is a great and friendly and took the time to tell us about the history of the house and tips on where to eat and visit, etc. He also baked us fresh rolls for breakfast - a nice touch. My husband and I were more than comfortable, feeling quite at home. This is a must-stay location for anyone wishing to explore an English village or just enjoy a relaxing stay away from home. Would visit again anytime and hope to in the future.

  • Kate and Peter were absolutely amazing hosts! Very helpful and prompt with responses, kind and very welcoming. They are very thoughtful hosts and always quick to check-in to make sure we had everything we needed. They also provided a great breakfast.  I highly recommend a stay at this home. It was wonderful! Everything is perfect, the location and the house are stunning. Honestly, the pictures cannot do it justice - beautiful house! The bedroom and bathroom are very clean and comfortable. This was our first experience with a room in a shared house, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay again - we had lots of space and privacy. The surrounding area is great for walks and it is within easy access to Canterbury.

  • Beverley is a fantastic host and is very accommodating. I booked the room in her house in the morning and she was able to accommodate me on very short notice. She even allowed me to drop my bag off in the morning and keep it there for the day after my checkout so that I didn't have to carry it while exploring the area. Her place is centrally located and easy to reach the middle of town or the beach. I was able to walk to the cliffs and the castle within 30 min. The room is great with a bed and a comfy couch. There is a kettle with tea, coffee and milk and a heater. Beverley even provided yummy croissants for breakfast. The bathroom was nicely appointed and I had a nice warm bath. I would highly recommend staying at Beverley's place if you're looking for a nicely priced, mostly-private spot in Dover. Thanks again!!

  • Charlotte’s place is fab. It’s really spacious, and I slept so well. It’s in an area right beside the coast so I could walk to Sandgate for training in the mornings, great to have my own cooking facilities too. There are lots of interesting looking little independent shops nearby and there are grocery stores in walking distance. Really great spot.

A great bookshelf that kept us entertained while it rained, and comfortable beds. The space has all we needed. It's located in the heart of the Creative quarter and a few moments walk from the Harbour. There are lots of food options on the street, with a Lidl a 5 minute walk away. There is a cool vintage shop at the bottom of the road too that is manned by very friendly staff. I highly recommend Charlotte's home. We had a great time.

Single room in the Centre of Canterbury. Just a couple of minutes walk from the High Street, both train stations & the main bus station.
My house is a traditional Georgian cottage with original features. I'm currently redecorating so some areas are a little scruffy, I rent out another room in the house on Airbnb. The room has bed wardrobe chest of drawers & desk It's a downstairs room directly off the kitchen. There's a boiler in a cupboard in the bedroom.
For bookings commencing within a month please message ahead of booking unless you are flexible regarding the check in time

Our place is in a quiet neighborhood but close to the city centre, nightlife, public transport, and parks. Your room will have a provate entrance, an en-suite, and access to the family kitchen. We usually meet our guests in person and show around. But if we are away you will be sent instructions for a self check-in. We have a mini schnauzer with us - very quiet, adorable and hypoallergenic. But still you better know this beforehand.
We offer a recently renovated modern en-suite room with a private entrance (single bed).
This is a quiet neighborhood off the main road, with several restaurants around the corner and City Centre 10 minutes walking distance.
  • Olena and family are very kind and hospitable. The place itself was very comfortable and super clean and didn't have any issue resting there after a long day of sightseeing and hiking in the beautiful South East.

    Islam2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The room was clean and cosy, Olena and her family were wonderful hosts! The location of the room is excellent. Once you reach the main road it's a straight and short walk to the heart of the city. Canterbury East Station (which has trains to Dover) is also extremely close by! I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone visiting Canterbury.

    Lana2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoy my stay at Olenas. I have my own gate and pathway, so really private. The room is nice, warm and cozy, I love the colourful bedding! The private bathroom is great, and the kitchen is always nice and clean. I would definitely recommend this place to other people, and probably I would come back again if I need to be in Canterbury!

    Trang2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Olena is super friendly and her house is beautiful. The room is super cheap when comparing hotels around canturberry. Even more so when considering you have your own private entrance and e suite toilet and shower. She has gone out if her way to provide everything you may need. In the room is a fridge, plates, cuterlry, city info books, extra heater along with radiator and s super cute shower room. It looks out onto a beautiful garden and is very peaceful. I didn't spend a lot of time in the room as I was working but I would highly reccinm Nd this place. One of the better air b & b I've stayed out. Thanks Olena

    Lee2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The room at Olena's is brilliant for a place to stay very near Canterbury City centre. She made me feel very welcome and provided all the amenities I needed. Would recommend.

    Kerry2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Olena for the lovely en-suite room which is very clean, comfortable and cosy. It is also close to the city centre and universities. I stayed for four nights and had a lovely stay. I will stay at Olena’s again next time I need to stay over in Canterbury and definitely recommend her place.

    Shamin2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Olena’s house is sparkling clean and the room is very cosy and snug. The bed is very comfortable and there is both a radiator and an extra heater in case you got cold. The en-suite is very clean too and in full working order. I was able to park my car on the driveway all week and felt happy that it was safe and secure. Olena and her family vacate the kitchen area by 9.30pm and do not come down for breakfast until 7.30 am, so the room was very quiet at night. There is a separate entrance to the room which gives users privacy and independence. The room is very well equipped with bedside lights, a desk with a desk light, a fridge and a kettle. Olena and her family are excellent hosts and could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The room was excellent value for money and I would recommend Olena’s to everyone!

Donkey Barn is situated in the pretty village of Wingham approximately 7 miles from the historic City of Canterbury, 5 miles from The Cinque Port of Sandwich, within an easy drive of local beaches, Dover Ferry Port and the Eurostar terminal at Folkstone. The property is totally self contained with it's own entrance but near enough to the owners house should assistance be required. Donkey Barn has it’s parking space and private patio. There are numerous farm shops locally offering delivery.
Donkey Barn has a large main room with a kitchen area, (two ring hob, microwave and fridge tucked away behind grey curtain) lounge area and dining table. There is a wood burning stove for cosying up on the sofa, (£8 extra charge to cover logs/kindling/laying fire and cleaning) The bedroom has a double bed and adjacent is the shower room. One child can sleep on the sofa and another in a travel cot (provided) so a family of up to four can be comfortably accommodated. A TV is set up in both the main room and bedroom. There is a very pretty patio area opening from the main room and adjacent parking. Access to the owners garden is not permitted unless by arrangement. Donkey barn is newly renovated (spring 2019) and we have added luxury touches such as high quality linens, a Nespresso machine and lots of thoughtful extras we like to find when renting accommodation. Continental breakfast is available by prior arrangement at £8 per person.
Wingham is a thriving, very pretty village with many local amenities including it's the hugely popular Wingham Wildlife park (the lions roar can be heard from Donkey barn!). We have two pubs, The Anchor which hosts weekly live music events and serves tasty 'pub grub' and The Dog, an award winning gastro pub which serves excellent local food. There is a friendly café, The Politicians Daughter, an Indian restaurant and take away. Wingham has a fantastic farm shop selling local and organic produce and we are surrounded by lovely country walks. Within 10 minutes drive is the historic Cinque port of Sandwich (the home of The Royal St Georges golf club) and in the opposite direction is the Cathedral City of Canterbury a UNESCO World Heritage Site with it's famous cathedral, numerous shops, restaurants and bars. The Port of Dover is around 20 minutes drive and the Eurotunnel crossing at Folkstone is under half an hour. Fishing can be found at Sandwich lakes about a 5 minute drive away. Numerous beaches including Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate are all within easy driving distance (20-30 minutes) and Westwood Shopping centre, a huge retail and entertainment centre, can also be found within a 20 minute drive.
  • Couldn’t ask for more with this place, stunning surroundings and lovely hosts! They’ve provided everything you would need for a getaway and plenty of nice surprises. Such a short drive to loads of different coastal areas and an eclectic array of farm shops to dive in to for the freshest of foods.

Relax and unwind in this artist-run bohemian retreat. Tucked away in the village of Preston, surrounded by orchards, you'll enjoy a peaceful 'get-away' yet be in easy reach of local amenities and Kent's stunning coastline. The studio is blissfully quiet, set back from the cottage with its own entrance under a vine-covered pergola, with access to a large garden. Your host is happy to interact as much or as little as you like, and will gladly share the best experiences the area has to offer.
Woodsmoke Arts Studios comes with all the usual amenities except TV, so you can be sure to relax and tune in with nature. There is a contemporary yet vintage feel to the studio which boasts high ceilings, large windows, and has a fabulous Swedish log burner at its centre. Built for artists, it has glorious light throughout which creates a sense of space and calm, all adding to the feeling of being on retreat. There is WiFi but the signal can be intermittent and we encourage all guests to switch off their devices and 're-wild'! There is plenty to do to connect with nature, and books and board games to focus a busy mind. There are plenty of places to stretch out and massage/yoga professionals on call to help you relax. Seasonal craft activities can also be arranged. The luxurious double bed has sheets with a generous thread count for you to enjoy a good nights sleep, and there is a pull out sofa bed for additional guests. The 5 meter bell tent can be hired for an additional fee, which will sleep 2-4 extra people comfortably. The studio has its own toilet and separate bathroom with a freestanding tub in which to enjoy a candle-lit soak. Prosecco and cake can be arranged for a treat on arrival, and a continental breakfast comes as standard and can be found in the studio fridge. Tea, coffee, and herbal drinks are also available. There is no kitchen as such, but there is a microwave oven should you need to self cater. Guests have the use of the rear garden, but are asked to keep noise to a minimum in respect of the neighbours and children's riding school at the back of the property. This is a place that welcomes creatives, nature lovers, and folk who won't mind the odd muddy paw print. Allergy sufferers please come prepared, the pollen count can be high and we do have pets and feather filled bedding. If you come across a creepy crawly we will do our best to guide them elsewhere, but we are very much out in the country! Expect to hear birdsong in the morning and owls at night, and sometimes the call of the wild really does drift over the fields as the lions roar from Wingham Wildlife Park.
Preston is a small rural village with a traditional church, village hall, community meadow, and recreation ground which includes a children's play area. A short walk through the orchards brings you to the picturesque Elmstone, which boasts a beautiful picnic spot and quaint library in a telephone phone box. Within a stones throw of the studio is Preston Garden Centre's fabulous bistro 'Coppers' where you can grab anything from a coffee and croissant to a full roast dinner, and pick up a tropical plant while you're at it! There's also a local shop, butchers, and pub in walking distance, and many more fine eateries and entertaining venues within a few minutes drive. Try The Anchor in Wingham for live music and fabulous pub grub, or Grove Ferry for boat rides or a spot of kayaking. You can paddle up river to nearby Fordwich, as old as the Dooms Day Book, and enjoy Michelin star cuisine for lunch at the Fordwich Arms! Or walk across the fields and relax in front of the fire with a craft beer at the Duke of William in Ickham. Historic Canterbury is a 20 minute drive, as is Sandwich, Deal and Dover. If its Art and Culture you are looking for, hang out in hip Whitstable, visit Margate's Turner Contemporary, or eat fish and chips with an Antony Gormley sculpture in Folkestone, all within a similar distance. There's something for everyone in this region, and with easy access to London, the ports, and channel tunnel, its the perfect place to explore the rest of Europe.

  • If you’re looking for somewhere to come for a break from modern life, this is the place to go. The studio is gorgeous, so well designed and totally peaceful. We loved the rural location, which is out of the way but also still a short drive from local attractions so not too far away from civilisation! Emily was a great host, friendly, helpful and quick with responses. We would highly recommend a stay here.

  • This studio space is great value for money and it feels detached from the real world (in a good way!). There are some really nice touches .e.g. cake on arrival!

  • This was my second stay at Clare's place. She is a very understanding and accommodating host, and it was a very comfortable stay, again. Thank you Clare!

  • Clare’s place is blissfully quiet, which is wonderful for someone like me who is very noise sensitive. She does have a housemate living there, but he’s very considerate and quiet as a mouse when I explained to him that I’m jumpy with noise. Clare’s sausage dog is also super cute, and does bark when you arrive, but responds well to cuddles and calms down fairly quickly. The room is exactly as described, the bed comfy and warm and (thankfully) there’s a bath for those who need it. I’d recommend staying here if you need a place in the area.

A cozy, safe and quiet place to relax, 2 minutes walk from the seaside (Sunny Sands, Folkestone). Convenience stores nearby. Clean and fully furnished. You have access to office desk and Wifi. In the bathroom you have shampoo and shower gel as well as fresh towel ready for you. In the kitchen all appliances are available for you e.g. cutlery, microwave, cooker, plates/mugs, washing machine. You have the whole flat to your disposal - if you need any assistance you can call/text me any time.
You will wake up to sunrise as bedroom is East facing. Spacious bedroom with very comfy bed. On the other hand you will get plenty of sun in the afternoon in the front room where you can enjoy a massive bayed window. Temperature in the flat is regulated by an app so you can choose your favorite. My place is very clean, tidy, bright and welcoming.
2 minutes walk to the seaside, 5 minutes walk to the town centre with many little coffee shops. Food shop less than a minute walk. Free street parking.
  • Aga is a friendly and welcoming host. She responded efficiently to my enquiries and was helpful when settling in. The flat is very cosy and modern and has everything for a comfortable stay. Very good value for money.

Our large detached house stands in 5 acres of grounds surrounded by open farmland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the North Kent Downs. Within half hour drive of Eurotunnel, Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone and High Speed Rail to London takes under an hour.
If you like space around you and animals, you'll like it here! We have a very friendly dog who lives with us in the house, two ponies who live in our adjoining paddock, chickens which roam our grounds and provide us with amazing eggs and bees which of course provide us with delicious honey. We also have a very friendly cat who lives at our stables. We have one double room with en-suite bathroom, plus two other single rooms with standard sized 3' single beds (which can be made into two twins) with a shared private bathroom, so we can comfortably accommodate a family. Please note that this listing is for one single room - if you want to book multiple rooms or the double room please see the separate listings: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/3014436 and 3014311 or let me know your requirements in your enquiry and I'll make you a special offer. Breakfast is included in the price and you can try our lovely free range eggs from our hens, along with cereals, toast, yoghurt, fresh fruit in season/dried fruit, our own honey and homemade jams.
Wootton is a very small village, but with an active, sociable community. There are under 200 people who live here, but we have an ancient church and a beautiful wooden village hall which is used for village events and occasionally for weddings. Our nearest pub is the famous Jackdaw at Denton which is about a mile away down the hill. Our lovely single track lanes are surrounded by open farmland and are often used by cyclists, horseriders and walkers. If all the peace and quiet get too much however, we are within easy reach of the Kent coast as well as the historic city of Canterbury, and the high speed rail link from Folkestone gets you to London in under an hour.
  • I had such a warm and welcoming stay with Jo. Thank you for hosting me.

  • I had a wonderful stay with Jo and Keith. I felt very welcome, enjoyed chatting with them while eating a delicious breakfast including fresh eggs from their chickens. They were very hospitable and kind and I would highly recommend staying in their lovely home.

  • I arrived in the evening after a long drive and was welcomed by Keith and his lovely dog. We had a great talk and a cup of tea. Then I sank into the (really comfortable) bed. On the next morning the sun woke me up and I had a view out of my window over the green meadows. I was served a delicious breakfast by Jo, with homemade eggs and honey. They gave me a lot of helpful tips for my further journey. Unfortunately I had to leave early, otherwise I would have enjoyed their beautiful garden. The area is very calm and perfect for a longer stay. I highly recommend to stay there.

  • Josephine and her husband were really nice. In the morning at 6 am (I had to leave that early) they prepared a delicious breakfast. I would stay there again.

  • We would highly recommend a stay. The hosts are such a lovely kind couple and the house is peaceful, comfortable and quiet and a super rest if travelling to France as we were. Or I'm sure lovely for a few days exploring the local countryside and kent.
