  • You cannot beat this place for comfort and value. Kelly's place is right on Kootenay lake with stunning lake and mountain views from the windows and the balcony deck looking over the lake. It's directly across the street from Ainsworth hot springs. The place is clean, comfy, has good WiFi, is artfully decorated and has a well equipped kitchen with good quality cookware, cutting boards and all the basics like salt, sugar and coffee....and even a bbq balcony. We like wandering down to the pebble beach with our coffee or walking along the road above the Ainsworth Hot Springs. It's also a short drive to trail heads and several cute towns with great food, site-seeing and shopping....so lots to do. There is a TV, but we are so busy relaxing and enjoying the area we never watched it.

  • Stunning location on a gorgeous private beach, fast, efficient, and kind communication from Kelly. What a lovely spot to return after a long soak next door to enjoy a wine by the roaring fire. Thank you so much Kelly, we will be back in the summer!

  • Kelly’s place was such an awesome spot, especially if you’re wanting to spend some time at the hot springs. The lake view was amazing and although it was too cold to head down to the beach, we enjoyed waking up to that view every morning. This place would be unreal in the summer but January was still wonderful (plus hot springs in the winter are better anyway!) This spot has everything you would need to make yourself feel at home.

  • Very cozy and comfortable place on the lake and a short walk to the hotsprings. I stayed in the middle of winter and the woodstove was wonderful. The suite has multiple places for lounging and relaxing, and the kitchen is complete with everything I needed to prepare meals and make coffee.

This quaint cabin is nestled between two 100+ year old barns in a rustic setting. There are two rooms with high wooden open beam ceilings making the cabin feel larger than it is. The kitchenette has a toaster oven, induction plate, teapot, coffee bodum, blender, small refrigerator; perfect for preparing simple meals. The bedroom has a very comfortable queen-size bed, SmartTV/Netflix. There is a small fenced backyard with a sitting area. We close to many wonderful activities and amenities!
Our little cabin is close to many wonderful activities and amenities - City of Nelson 20 minute drive along the beautiful lake, approximately 30 minutes to Ainsworth Hot springs, 12 minutes to Kokanee National Park and the turn off to the Kookanee Mountain Zipline and Kokanee Glacier, 20 minutes to the longest distance, free of cost ferry in the world, 45 minutes to Kaslo, the biggest smallest city on the lake and about 40 minute to the Whitewater Ski Resort turnout. During the late spring and summer we have a canoe and two kayaks which may be borrowed if you have a way to get them to the lake. You must also have a whistle with you while on the lake, the water is very cold! This quaint, 300 square foot cabin is nestle between two very old barns, one belongs to us the other belongs to the neighbors. Both were built over 100 years ago in a rustic setting. The space is sweet, quiet and relaxing. The cabin has two rooms with high wooden open beam ceilings, a small room with an armoire and little bathroom. The natural unpainted wood for the interior was carefully salvaged from the previous owner's sister’s heritage barn; one can easily see this cabin was built with love. Passing through the front door, you enter the kitchen and sitting room, bright and pleasant, with two big skylights and a large and small window, a cheery room. The kitchenette, has a toaster/convection oven, induction plate, tea pot, coffee bodum, blender and small refrigerator; convenient for the preparation of simple foods and beverages. The kitchenette and sitting area also has a stereo system with a CD player. In the bedroom you will find a comfortable queen size bed, 32" TV with Netflix, a cabinet and a sink to freshen up and a armoire to hang and place your clothes. The small bathroom has a shower, a high end Separett composting toilet which is emptied after each guest leaves. If staying for 4 or more days can request to have emptied after 3 days. Through the backdoor is a small deck and sitting area, another beautiful view of the mountains, and the sound of gentle water falling into the fish pond. Washer is available upon request, it is in the main house. We are dog friendly and have provided a small fenced area in the back sitting area.
Heddle Road is quiet and on a sunny bench surrounded by mountains. The cabin is next to an open field which is next to an organic farm that have some chickens and a rooster. The neighbors and dogs living on Heddle Road are very friendly. We are close to 6 mile beach where many of the locals like to go and sit in the sun and enjoy the lake!

  • Marsha was so awesome and sweet. I really loved her and would definitely stay there again. The rooms had these really cute little closets that my 3 year old loved playing fort in. Great location next to the hot spring. Friendly dog. Great privacy. Overall just a great experience staying there. We often go to Ainsworth and stay at the local BnB’s. Would be happy to stay there again

A little piece of paradise here on earth! Yes, our opinion, but most of our visitors agree!Charming and cozy two bedroom, one bath cottage on beautiful Kootenay Lake! Enjoy 100 feet of private, sandy beach. Minutes walk from the Ainsworth Hot Springs and 20 minutes south of Kaslo. One of the only rentals that offers your own private beach with a dock available and two kayaks for use! Whether it's fun-in-the-sun, outdoor adventure, peace and tranquility, Summer or Winter, you can find it here!
The house is 840 sq feet, with 2 bedrooms (queen and double bed) and one bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave. Everyday cooking essentials are always stocked! There is a washer/dryer and the bathroom has a tub with separate shower. The deck faces the lake and includes seating for 6 and a propane bbq. Very spacious and large windows to enjoy the view of the lake and mountains!
Kootenay Lake is a beautiful destination and doesn’t freeze over winter! It is British Columbia’s best kept secret! Ainsworth Hot Springs has a population of only 50 and is very peaceful and charming. The Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort is a 5 minute walk away from the house and features a 150 ft natural cave. It is open year round with a great restaurant and spa. Cody Caves are located just north of Ainsworth and offer guided tours through the limestone caves! An angling and boaters favourite, world-class Rainbow Trout fishing is also on offer any time of year. Woodbury Resort & Marina is 5km north of Ainsworth Hot Springs and offers boat rentals, boat launching and charters. Rent a boat and dock it in front of the lake house! Kaslo (known as Canada’s little Switzerland!) is located 15 minutes north of Ainsworth and is famous for its festivals: May Days, the Logger Sports competition, and the Kaslo Jazz Etc Festival. Tour the windy mountain roads in the area on bicycle or motorcycle, or travel the international Selkirk Loop via RV. If outdoor adventures are your thing, head down to the lake, or up to the mountain biking and backcountry hiking trails. In the winter there are amazing “sledding” or snowmobiling bowls nearby, as well as cross-country skiing on groomed trails or the most exhilarating powder skiing you can imagine at Retallack or with Selkirk Snowcat Skiing, and Stellar Heliskiiing.
  • Everything was just perfect. Pat the owner, house location. There is peace, tranquility and fabulous view, just like heaven on earth. Everything about Pat’s lake house was perfect for us from A-Z!

  • Great place to stay, we were very lucky and were on our own without neighbors for our entire stay. The house was clean and comfortable and had all the amenities promised. The hot springs were within a short walking distance along with a pretty decent restaurant, should you choose to eat out. The deck facing the lake was were we spent our mornings watching the sun rise, bird watching or just taking in the spectacular view. Thank you Pat, what a nice little cabin to stay in while visiting the West Kootenays.

  • Ilse’s place was perfect for my weekend getaway. Great view, very clean, and such a comfortable bed! Ilse was easy to communicate with, and very accommodating. Highly recommend!

    Jennifer2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ilse's guest suite is a lovely spot with fantastic views of Kootenay Lake. The space was roomy, quiet, clean, and had a bed that was oh so comfortable. Isle was a great host and happily made herself available to us while giving us lots of privacy. The house was a bit difficult to find but we did arrive in adverse weather. The suite and the host's spaces are only separated by an accordion divider, which is not clearly shown in the pictures and was a surprise. Though this did not take away from our experience. I believe that adding a hotplate and an up-to-date TV would push this place over the top. I would strongly recommend this space and would be happy to return.

    Aaron2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Ilse is an amazing hostess! She gave detailed info, replied to all questilns promptly, even brought us home-made carrot cake! Place is new, neat sparkling clean, with abundant supplies and extra ammenities. View on Kootney lake is breath taking. It's only 15 min away from Ainsworth Hot Springs, with extra privacy. We definitely want to come again!

  • Beautiful home. Lovely hosts. Can only recommend. We had the unfortunate event of power outage and were offered a generous refund for our last night and help to find a different place to stay close by for our last night in the kootenays. We'll be staying here again in the future if possible.

    Benjamin2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing view/sunrise. Ilse responded very quickly to messages. Place was clean. It was a pleasant experience!

  • The views and location were amazing. It was exactly what we wanted in between the Ainsworth Hot Springs and Nelson. IIse was there to greet us when we arrived and show us around the suite and shared some places we could go to eat back in Nelson if we were curious. It was really clean and spacious. Overall it was a really great experience.

A beautiful suite nestled in nature. It is located just outside of Balfour with access to the ferry landing, balfour store, a gas station and bakery. Ainsworth Hotsprings is a short 15 min drive, Kokanee Creek is 10 minutes away and Nelson and all its amenities is about a 25 minute drive. 4 wheel drive is recommended during winter weather as the last little stretch is uphill.
The space is an open and private studio suite with a full kitchen and bathroom. Lots of natural light with a very peaceful atmosphere.
  • Cute and quiet little hideaway! Kept very clean and so nice to have tea and coffee there aswell as really welcoming yummy bars. Very close to the Balfour ferry which is a gorgeous little ride! Thanks so much :)

  • Had a wonderful time, space was sparkling clean, cozy and quiet. Perfect get away to relax or enjoy the area.

    Jane2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I loved staying here during the winter! The flat is very cozy, as well as stylish with a lot of lovely details. It is located in a wonderful snowy forest area close to the hot springs. Would highly recommend it!

    Maximilian2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place was even cuter and more stylish than photos give it credit for. The location felt secluded enough for privacy. We were able to use the nicely supplied kitchen to cook most of our meals there. The bed was comfortable. And the host communicated promptly with us but since the house was supplied with everything we needed we didnt have to communicate once we got there, which gave us all the privacy we desired. We enjoyed being so close to the hot springs also. Amazing value for the price of the Air B&B. We hope to come back! Thank you Lindsay!

    Deanna2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a cute, quaint little cabin! We loved everything about it. Was easy to find, very clean, had everything we needed for our stay in Canada! Would definitely stay again if we are so lucky to make it back to Nelson!

    Kelsey2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The space was beautiful!! We came up for a quick weekend trip and it was a great area, the rooms were clean, and our check in was very easy! Would definitely stay again!

    Kyndal2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsay’s place was simply lovely. It was convenient for us because we were interested in Ainsworth Hot Springs, town of Nelson and Whitewater Ski resort. The place was peaceful, clean, private, cozy, and had everything we needed. We loved it and would stay there again without a doubt.

  • This air bnb fair exceeded my expectations. Katharine was one of the best hosts I’ve come across and was attentive to every detail. The beds were more comfortable then upscale hotels I’ve slept in and the couch was perfect for cozying up watching tv after a day in Nelson and the hog springs. I would recommend this home to anyone! And I’ll absolutely be back. Honestly, I can’t say enough positive things about it. You will love staying here. 💕

    Kaitlin2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great host. House was really clean and organized. They got everything we needed. Would definitely come back here. Nice to meet Sam as well.

  • This was the nicest airbnb that I have stayed in. Great location if you are going to the hotsprings. The place was exceptionally clean, comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. Katherine greeted us when we arrived, was very responsive and helpful. We would absolutely stay here again! Such a lovely weekend trip.

  • Katharine was a great host, attentive and flexible in taking care of us during our stay.

  • The Round Guest Suite is very homey, exceptionally clean, well appointed and thoroughly stocked. Close to the hot springs, close to the ferry and Nelson is only 14km away. You will be happy, cared for and won't want to leave.

    Lois2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We reserved but then extenuating circumstances prevented us from actually being able to make our trip. Still, Katharine was gracious and accommodating at every step along the way. We will definitely keep this place tucked away for our next visit to Ainsworth.

Comfortable bed and large TV in the room, along with microwave, fridge and Keurig coffee maker, as well as coffee, tea and milk. Gorgeous view of the lake/bay. Really great that there were motion-detection lights that came on as we made our way down the steps in the dark after going out to dinner. • This was a wonderful location and the space was nice and clean and modern. We loved the short walk to Kokanee Creek Provincial Park with access to both the beach and the hiking trails. It is conveniently located near both Nelson and Ainsworth Hot Springs. Our only issue was that the shower was smaller than we would have preferred and was tight for even one person. Other than that one issue, it was great.

Even though there were some issues with snow and storms, Jen and Chris were super helpful and accomodating to make sure it was a great trip! Would visit again!

  • Chris & Jen’s place is really cozy and cute, many funny Sasquatch details, wonderful location! They have been friendly and helpful in every situation. Because of a snow storm, we have been stuck in the snow with our car and there was a black out but with their help we had an amazing stay and we already would like to go back!

The location is perfect if you are planning activities in both Nelson and Ainsworth as it sits between the two overlooking the water.

  • Clean beautiful view

    Natalie2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle & Dennis are wonderful hosts. The Space we stayed in was new and clean, filled with beautiful touches. Soft lamps, cozy throws, a popcorn machine, and a plethora of board games. The king bed is super comfortable. We had our teenage boys with us; one slept on the pull-out couch and one on an air mattress that the hosts have available. The view is phenomenal, looking across to the mountains and Kootenay Lake. Sitting in the hot tub and watching the moon peep out from behind the clouds was magical. The neighborhood is totally quiet. There’s no stove top or oven, but a microwave, toaster, kettle and crockpot are provided as well as a small fridge. The morning we left, we had some trouble with our truck. Dennis stepped in immediately and told my husband he’d call his mechanic friend. We were so well taken care of. Staying here beats a hotel room any day!

    Rochelle2019-10-07T00:00:00Z

  • Deb was so welcoming to her bungalow in the mountains. Her home was a great place to rest after a fantastic hike (which she recommended). Soaking in the jacuzzi was heavenly after a day on trail. The room was spotless, and the bed very comfortable. Views from her house are spectacular. Highly recommend!

  • It was great!

    Karlina2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Not only is this house large and spacious, its beautiful, clean, and warm. The pictures do not do it justice. The views are incredible and the layout/furnishings are perfect. Robin and Charlotte were great hosts, they were very informative and answered all of my questions. As some others have commented, the driveway is a little steep and a 4 wheel drive helps in the winter. It's pretty short however, and unnecessary because of the close street parking. If you want a large and comfortable house, I highly recommend Robin and Charlotte's. I would not hesitate to stay at the "Eyrie" again, in fact I am counting the days until the next trip to the Nelson area.

Relax in a custom-built , timber-framed cabin tucked on the edge of a forest. Enjoy peace and tranquillity on a historic estate in a community graced with natural beauty and lots of artistic folks.
The Robin's Nest Cabin has timber-highlights thru-out with a loft bedroom with a cast iron tub .
Our 50 acre property is located in a quiet neighbourhood, off the main highway, on a road that surrounds the golf course. Crawford Bay beach a sandy, public beach, with family friendly walking trails. is only a 5 min drive away. There is a well-stocked grocery and liquor store also 5 min away.
  • Cabin was comfortable, attractive, quiet, located in a beautiful setting. Local artisans were fun to visit. We had a great time and would definitely return for a summer visit

  • Charming cabin On the grounds of a beautiful estate. We took a lovely hike to a waterfall right behind the cottage. Joanne and her husband were very thoughtful and brought us some fresh produce from their garden. We had a lovely stay and would definitely come back.

  • Lovely cabin in an absolutely gorgeous setting. Joan and John were very helpful and easy to get in contact with. Would definitely come again.

  • Our stay was amazing. Beautiful cabin and amenities. Amazing location. The lawns games and fire pit were a very nice touch.

    Jeremy2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is by far the most relaxing environment I have be in! Absolutely gorgeous views, beautiful cozy cabin & a beautiful waterfall hike right behind the cabin! It was absolutely perfect in every way! Only things I would consider are that you are required to Hall all your stuff up the hill as you have to park at the bottom & walk up. I would have packed differently if I had realized this. & of course adding the Cody Cave Tours to the local things to do is a must as it was life changing and had so many different skill levels!!! Best vaca we have been on!!! Thank you.

    Anna2019-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Joan’s property is spectacular. I needed to get out of the City for a week-long writing retreat and the cabin was the perfect place. It was equipped with everything I needed, but if anything came up Joan was super responsive. There are great hiking trails right from the front door, beach access and a great little bakery/cafe just a 15 min walk away—with a short cut through the woods. I will definitely be back!!

    Chris2019-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Had fun! A great place to relax!

    Zachary2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! The hospitality is great, but mainly, the private hikes and the peace and quiet. The region is full of cute places and amazing hikes. The free ferry ride over to the other side and hot springs are a must. We will be back for sure and recommend to anyone!!!

  • My daughter and I stayed 2 nights at Annie’s place on our road trip. Annie was a gracious and informative host who has a beautiful space. The suit was clean, cozy and comfortable with a beautiful little outdoor patio with tables and chairs. Annie provides us with a delicious breakfast at the golf course free of charge. Her place was well located for our purposes, close to Ainsworth hot springs, Kaslo and Nelson. We really enjoyed our stay would highly recommend her place. Thank you for having us

Private, beautifully situated, quiet cabin with an amazing view of the West Arm of Kootenay Lake. We'd love to have people from all over the world and all walks of life come and enjoy this little gem. The great little City of Nelson is a half hour away, golf courses are nearby, Whitewater ski hill is a local attraction, not to mention Ainsworth Hot Springs.
  • Great place to stay. The cabin was quiet and cozy.

    Kendra2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed again at Ursula's and Barry's place for a month in the midst of the winterly mountains. A beautiful apartment with a million dollar view to the mountains. Beautiful apartment with cosy wood fire place. Everything what you can wish for to have some quiet times. The town of Nelson is close by if you want a visit. All in all an ideal place to relax.

    Heinz2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and peaceful. Highly recommend if in need of relaxing.

    Ella2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • A real gem! Cozy cabin in a picturesque location. Barry & Ursula were fantastic hosts and very helpful. The dogs are also very sweet!

    Jonathan2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Barry and Ursula have a wonderful cabin. It's a great location for visiting the Kootenay Lake region. We had a wonderful view in a quiet area. Barry and Ursula's orchard was beautiful and they were very generous in letting us take some of their bounty. If you want to visit this area I cannot recommend their place enough!

    Flynn2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Barry and Ursula were fantastic hosts with an amazing property. It was the perfect getaway. Nearby the main house, but with all the privacy I wanted. There was wildlife around the property just about every day

    Justin2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had a wonderful week in Harrop. Barry and Ursula have put so much love into their little cabin. We appreciated all of the little touches and attention to detail. The location is perfect to commute between Nelson, Balfour, and Kaslo. We got to explore busier areas and come home to a super quiet cabin at the end of the night. It was perfect! And the dogs were a bonus!

    Morgan2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Barry and Ursula’s place is a beautiful gem off the beaten path. The views from the cabin are crisp and inviting. The fire gives a homely feel and the cabin has everything you could ask for. Barry and Ursula were wonderful hosts and better people. Although we were unable to spend more time with them and the area, I highly recommend their company and cabin if you’re lucky enough to grab and opening.

From our Reviews: "This is the nicest guesthouse we've ever found on Airbnb". "Amazing! Our family rated this our best Airbnb ever". "I have used Airbnb quite a bit and this probably rates as my best experience with Airbnb". I have stayed in many Airbnbs in many places. ....this is the most amazing place I have ever stayed at". "Perfect! Staying in Dawn and Russell's guest house was the best Airbnb experience we've had yet".
Bordering on Sunshine Bay Park on Kootenay Lake, our 150 acre homestead and guesthouse was first settled at the end of the 19th century. We have enjoyed revitalizing the once thriving farm. You'll enjoy our classic 1400sq/ft timber frame guesthouse - light and airy, with views of the mountains and fields that surround us. Natural linens on all our beds in a quiet environment contribute to a restful night's sleep.
The area we live in is very pastoral and breathtakingly beautiful. Here are some suggestions of thing to do and see within an hour from our place: Sunshine Bay Regional Park: - two minute drive to swimming, boat launch, kayaking, canoeing, children's playground, basketball court, bike park and walking trails Local hiking trails & mountain biking Cycling - Harrop Procter Road is a very popular cycling route that stretches 15km from the Harrop ferry to Kootenay Lake Village Kokanee Creek Nature Centre - 15 minutes Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park trailhead/Gibson Lake - 35 minutes Kokanee Creek Old Growth Trail - 20 minutes Kokanee Mountain Zip Line - 15 minutes Ainsworth Hot Springs - 25 minutes Kootenay Lake Ferry to Pilot Bay Provincial Provincial Park and Crawford Bay - 20 minutes Balfour Golf Course (18 hole) - 20 minutes Cody Caves Tours - 30 minutes Historic towns of Nelson & Kaslo - 45 minutes either way Whitewater Ski Resort - 60 minutes
  • Dawn and Russel’s place was fantastic. Beautiful location. Warm, friendly hosts. The house was cute, cozy and sparkling clean. My kiddos loved it as much as I did. Highly recommend.

  • Clean spacious cabin in a beautiful setting.

    Stephen2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn and Russell's guesthouse is cozy and well equipped. They are gracious hosts, and the area is wonderful.

    Lisa2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a fantastic stay -- Beautifully located, and easy to get to. From the get-go, dawn made us feel very welcome by communicating with me as I planned a trip with 5 other people. We all skied at Whitewater, and this was the PERFECT place to come back to and warm ourselves by the wood stove. In the midst of some adversity with car trouble, and power outages, dawn and Russell were incredibly caring by reaching out to their community to try get us some tire chains (massive dump while we were there!), and by providing us candles for light, and plenty of blankets for warmth, and plenty of firewood. You got to see the goats, too! Wish we could've had an extended stay to connect with them both and share stories. Thank you both for being gracious hosts, and creating such a nice sanctuary to retreat to; great way to end/begin the decade! :)

    Riley2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn and Russell’s place was exceptional and extremely well appointed. From the quietness of the fields to the panoramic vistas we were very content. Would advise those looking to relax and recharge, this is the spot!

    Fella2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • A most delightful and magical place. Dawn and Russell made our visit extra special and we appreciated their generosity! A memorable experience...

    Yvonne2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn and Russell's place far exceeded our expectations. You HAVE to stay here, you will not be disappointed! Dawn and Russell are super welcoming, the chalet is stunning (we could very happily live there long term) and has everything you could possibly need (and if it doesn't I'm sure Dawn and Russell would have fixed us up with anything we needed). The setting is stunning and the livestock on their property is a must see! We went at the start of November and there is still so much biking and hiking to do nearby. And of course there are plenty of hot springs in the area to visit . There is something for everyone nearby! We are already looking forward to our next stay with them 😉

    Jenny2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of four siblings wanted to stay somewhere beautiful and relaxing. Dawn and Russell's spacious cabin more than delivered. In addition to a breathtaking setting, the cabin was cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was "cook-ready", the beds were comfortable and everything was sparkling clean. A wood stove, beach towels and a spare apron were lovely touches. We will definitely be spreading the word !

Are you ready to soak up the setting sun in the hot tub(not available July/August) or head out on an adventure nearby? This home is 2 minutes to Kokanee park, Nelson is 15 mins away and Ainsworth hotsprings is only 25 mins. You’ll love the house because of the epic view, the ambiance, the light, fully equipped kitchen and the wild surrounding forests. My place is good for couples and families with kids 3+. The driveway is very steep, AWD vehicles and a short walk up to the house are worth it!
My house is a modern and new, finished in 2013, open concept design with a concrete floor( with infloor heat) and back wall that is built into the mountain side. This design is called passive solar and it is very well insulated so the main floor will stay nice and cool in the heat of the day (upstairs can get hot but easily cools off to sleep with open windows) as long as you keep the doors closed mid day. The very high ceilings make the place feel roomy yet comfortable at 1500sq/ft. The new addition of a small hot tub (2-4 person) will make soaking up the view even more spectacular! This will not be available in July and August due to lower water availability. The house has a custom made metal railings and accents as well as numerous beautiful wooden pieces of furniture. In the winter and spring rental the house also comes with a sweet and friendly cat named Gaia. The space is also ideal for a healing getaway. I have a yoga mat, foam rollers and an exercise ball available for guests to use. You can also book in for an 'in-house'' massage from me. For more details on this you can check out my website, TopfitnesswithAnna. The kitchen has everything that you may need and more. It really is inspiring to cook while gazing out at the lake. We also have a BBQ and a table and chairs outside. The master bedroom has a King bed and also has a flat screen TV with net flix access and closet space. The second bedroom is small and has a comfortable double bed and shelf unit. The third bed is a queen bed located in the living room. It has a privacy screen half way around it. I would not recommend this property for toddlers as the out door space includes many steep drop offs which may be concerning to parents. The futon in the living room also pulls out to a queen sized bed that is comfortable. The house is new and the landscaping surrounding it has not been completed. A part of the ongoing project... The surrounding property includes 33 acres of forest that you can feel free to explore. The house is fed by amazing artesian spring water so there is no need to buy water. Please don't leave taps running. Thank you for being water conscious :)
With tons of sun exposure and epic views you may just spend the day hanging out in the house or on the deck. But with the amazing Kokanee Park only minutes away I highly recommend a hike to the waterfall, a refreshing dip in the lake or a longer hike up to the Kokanee glacier. Also the bustling town of Nelson is only 15 minutes away and the dining there is great.
  • We loved staying here with our two young kids. It had a very kootenays feel, which was nice for me, since I’m from Nelson. The hot tub was great and the view world class. The owners were very reachable if we had any questions.

    Julia2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Anna’s house was even more beautiful than expected. The driveway is a difficult terrain but is worth it!

    Gabby2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing place to stay. I would definitely come again. You can star gaze at night and hike or enjoy the lake in the daytime. The beach is super close by. It’s a great location if you want to get away from the city. The host was very easy to communicate with and accommodated us so well, beyond my expectations.

    Susanne2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Anna’s place is in a great location—close to Nelson, hikes, a public beach, and hot springs. It was easy for us to get around and we loved the gorgeous view in the morning and evening. The house has a unique and beautiful style, and clearly is cared for. My family of four enjoyed our visit to this stunning part of the world and hope to return.

    Martha2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A maginifique house with an incredible view. Perfect for enjoying Kootenays.

    Serge2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, beautiful scenery, very comfortable and roomy, located close to Nelson, many hiking paths, beaches, etc. Absolutely beautiful area. Only downside was that the weather was very hot and there was no air conditioning so the upstairs bedrooms took time to cool down - but it was not a big problem. We also appreciated Anna’s willingness to meet with my wife for a professional consultation and massage which has proved very fruitful already. Definitely highly recommended.

    Kamran2019-08-09T00:00:00Z

    Nick2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Anna’s place is warm, welcoming and absolutely stunning. The views are second to none! Who needs to pay for a resort vacation in a tropical location when this place is available. Nestle led between hot springs in Ainsworth and markets in Nelson, you’ll relax, rewind and rejuvenate no matter what your definition is of a good time. We will definitely return.

A small paradise, really. A step up from a cabin. Big windows, trees, gardens... quiet. Close to Riondel village, Yasodhara Ashram, public beach, secret beaches, Crawford Bay... many, many amazing trails (hike for few minutes or hours), 4 minutes to Kootenay ferry... add 20 minutes to get to Ainsworth Hot Springs. Close to Nelson, Kaslo. . . Golf, hiking, outdoors, visit artisan shops... Perfect place to reflect, write, find peace... (Please no loud parties)
Mojo Mobile Food stationed at the end of the driveway (practically), amazing restaurant and cafes in Crawford Bay, Ferry landing, Saturday Market at the Riondel Campground...
  • Away from it all Chantal’s place is very secluded, in a forest, some 100 m or so away from the next house. It is clean, cute, and cozy, has plenty of supplies, and a balcony overlooking a garden with fruits and veggies. In Aug, I harvested sweetpeas, plums, and tomatoes (which were actually sweet! … in contrast to store-bought). Chantal is a pleasure to talk to, with her endearing French accent, oh la la! Occasional visitors include deer and turkeys (also, don’t run them over along roadways). There are a number of trails to which my little doggy took me :) for walks. Some are hard to find; ask locals or the tourist info in Crawford Bay, which has a bunch of unique stores. I enjoyed my stay at Chantal’s place a lot, and would gladly return.

  • We stayed in the Grandview Chalet which was lovely and located within Soul’s Paradise. It was nice having a kitchen to cook meals and later relax on the front deck. There is also a little coffee shop by the ferry and some nice local restaurants . Close access to the ferry was a bonus. Upstairs bedroom is an open loft area with a screen for privacy. We would definitely considered staying here again should we be back in Crawford Bay.

This spacious round house is 'glamping' (glamorous camping) at its best. This yurt is equipped with a full kitchen, dining table that seats 6, loft with queen bed, outhouse, claw foot tub in a separate bath house, small deck outside and a bright and spacious rustic living space. Feel connected to nature with a fire pit, hammock and deck.
This rustic yurt is located a 1 minute drive to beautiful Kokanee Park and 15 minutes to Nelson. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to live in a yurt then here is your chance. It is mostly open concept with lots of space to dance, do yoga and play. Inside is a loft with a queen size bed on top but the ladder up is a bit steep so if you have balance issues you may want to use the pullout couch/bed instead. We also have a small deck to sit outside and enjoy the view as well as a lovely shaded hammock spot. The yurt includes an outhouse plus a separate bathhouse with a claw foot tub. The driveway is quite steep and 4WD/AWD is needed to access the yurt but if you only have 2WD then we can possibly shuttle your luggage up to the yurt if we are around upon your arrival...or you can walk the 3 minutes up with your stuff. Maybe come prepared with a backpack if you have 2WD.
With tons of sun exposure and epic views you may just spend the day hanging out at the yurt. But with the amazing Kokanee Park only minutes away I highly recommend a hike to the waterfall, a refreshing dip in the lake or a longer hike up to the Kokanee glacier. • Felt like this was our home away from home. The perfect place for rest and relaxation. We loved it and the giant deck and beach were a great touch. Victoria was amazing as she offered us lots of information about the area, she was easy to communicate with and her special touches made this a great Airbnb. Thanks for a special place to spend our weekend. Jody and Colleen.

  • Great stay! The cabin is very comfortable and clean, and the location is beautiful. Joan and John are very friendly and shared helpful information. Highly recommend!

    Melanie2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • So much gratitude to Joan and John for providing a beautiful space for our Canadian get-away. The cabin is a fine example of craftsmanship, embellished with creative handmade details and much of the artwork throughout is by local artisans. Everything we needed was available and the cabin was immaculate. The grounds are amazing. A trail directly to the back of the cabin will take you to an incredible waterfall. The hike is 25 minutes and well-marked with thoughtfulness and humor. We ate one meal in and for the second night, Joan recommended the Black Salt Cafe. Delicious! All-in-all, this is a 5-star experience. We will definitely book again for a next round of adventure!

  • My husband and I just got back from a 3 night stay at this beautiful cabin. Would highly recommend both the host and the property. Spotless, beautiful location with an interesting history. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Lots of information available on surrounding area. Joan more than willing to share any tips or information and was readily available. The hike to the waterfall was beautiful. Would not hesitate to return.

  • Joan and John were the most hospital hosts that we've experienced and the wonderful residence extremely well designed, tranquil, peaceful, well located and extremely private. We had the most amazing mini vacation on their property.

    JoAnne2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Joan and John were excellent hosts. The cabin was clean and stocked with everything we needed. They are full of local and natural knowledge. The property is stunning and full of wildlife and history. We saw hummingbirds and a family of deer from the front porch. The natural water features lull you to sleep at night. Truly an amazing place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle and just relax. Make sure to check out the trails all over the property! Thanks Joan and John!

    Brittany2019-07-13T00:00:00Z

Our waterfront guesthouse situated just 6 miles north of Nelson was recently built from as well as amongst the cedar trees that surround it. Situated a hundred feet from our own family home, this freestanding space is a great escape if you're seeking a bit of beach time, mountain air, or access to the town of Nelson itself (10 minute drive).
Built on our 1 acre property at six-mile, the cabin has a master bedroom (queen) as well as an open loft with another queen and hide-a-bed. Tons of shade in the summer from the cedar trees and 100 meter walk across the property accesses the beach. A large sandy spit is also only a five minute walk away. Located on an alluvial fan near a creek, expect a very quiet and private escape while you stay with us.
Wake-up to enjoy your morning coffee by the fire while looking out at the lake, wander out your front door and down to the beach, explore the quaint shops and restaurants of Nelson, hit the slopes of Whitewater Ski Hill or head into the backcountry; the adventures are limitless. When the day is done and it's time to relax, Ainsworth Hot Springs is just a short 25 minute drive away. Some of our favourite spots include: Whitewater Ski Resort (25 minute drive south) Ainsworth Hot Springs (25 minute drive north) 6 Mile Beach (5 minute walk) Kokanee Provincial Park (5 minute drive) Downtown Nelson (10 minute drive)
  • This charming cabin has everything you could possibly need. It's actually bigger than it looks in the photos too. It's fully stocked with amenities, sparkling clean and very quiet. My 4 y/o son loved having the loft area to himself. The lakefront there is beautiful and only steps away, you could easily enjoy that area in any season.

    Andrea2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is absolutely stunning, awesome finishes and just a fantastic space. Close to Nelson and Ainsworth. Would come again in a heartbeat!

  • Cheryl and Andy are very welcoming hosts. You really can't do any better. Great spot and fully equipped, well though out, cabin with everything you need to relax. Wish we had more time to stay longer.

    Darius2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gorgeous, thoughtfully built space that is very well supplied and extremely clean. We did quite a bit of cooking while there, and the kitchen has all of the amenities (included spices, food storage etc.) that we have at home! There is a lovely view of the lake and we really enjoyed playing in the snow by the lake with our 2.5 and 4.5 year old boys, as well as a wintery beach fire one evening! The location is very convenient to Nelson and Whitewater. Cheryl, Andy and their family are just lovely and we really enjoyed getting to know them all. They were very responsive and helpful with all of our questions about the hire, even connecting us with a great babysitter. Our kids were conveniently the same ages, so they had a great time playing together. We really hope to come back again for another stay, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

    Justin2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy's place is fantastic! This quaint space offered beautiful lake views and a very comfortable stay. Nancy and Sandy were wonderful hosts as well - more accommodating than we could have possibly asked for!

  • This was an amazing airbnb. The view was fantastic and the apartment was spotless. It had everything we needed and we would definitely recommend it and stay here again!

    Thomas2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • There are too many things to love here to name them all. We find the setting, the house, and the hosts to be an absolute perfect fit for our family of three. The beach is so picturesque, and Nancy's gardening talent is world class. Nancy and Sandy are so kind and considerate about respecting their guests' space, but they are such a joy, you kind of wish they'd pop in for dinner so you can thank them for their generosity. Six stars!

    Jeanne2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy and Sandy have a fantastic location right on Kootenay Lake and are very friendly hosts. The two bedroom suite is well equipped for cooking and great views of the lake from both bedrooms. A great jumping off spot to visit both Nelson and Kaslo.

    Mark2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Location is spectacular. Hosts - Nancy and Sandy - are phenomenal. They took such amazing care of us- only further enhancing the magic that is this place. We plan on making this an annual trip!

    Steph2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place right on the lake for just relaxing, or for a base for your adventures. The suite is clean, comfortable, and quiet, and has all the amenities you could need on a short or long stay. Nancy is a gracious and accommodating host, and we hope to come back in the future.

  • Wonderful place and wonderful country.

    Todd2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home. Amazing views. We enjoyed playing some of the games in game cabinet, comfortable beds, plenty of towels, kitchenware was adequately stocked, and loved the private shoreline! We fill a bit mislead as to the price, online it listed $133 a night and we paid much more than that? I think the discrepancy is with Airbnb and not the host, but nevertheless something was amiss. Nevertheless we had a wonderful time and would recommend their lovely home to anyone!

    Katie2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome cabin with amazing views of the lake. Hosts were great and very helpful.
