Lake house vacation rentals in Rough River Lake

Our group really enjoyed the patio and furniture outside. The stargazing was amazing. I felt as if I was in outer space. Almost slept on the back patio star gazing. We did fall asleep abruptly. The nature and the lake were a peace of heaven like passing through the solar system. Thank you.

Very peaceful. The house was super clean. Worth the drive to the lake. Very nice surroundings. Felt very safe also.

The eight of us really enjoyed our stay. The kids loved the bunk beds and the outdoor swing the most! The view and yard were gorgeous and we had a great time making a fire in the firepit and sitting on both upstairs and downstairs decks. We'd definitely stay again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This was one of the most organized places we've ever stayed. We had a group of 10 people and it felt very spacious. The kitchen had everything in it that we needed including a crockpot and waffle iron! Access to the lake on-site was limited because of the recent historical flooding, but we were able to go down the road to the Wax Marina and rent a boat. The lake was beautiful and everyone got to swim from the boat. We would definitely come back!

House was very accommodating for our family of 12. AC great. Driveway is very steep. Our family enjoyed the kayaks and the beds were very comfortable! Highly recommend!

We had a lovely stay! It rained most of the time, but that wasn’t an issue because of the amazing porch. We sat outside and watched the weather pass through and it was so peaceful. The house has everything you need and more - even enough hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels! Houses almost never have enough hooks. Everything was so clean and well organized. The dock wasn’t re-installed yet (it was damaged in recent floods) but that was ok because it rained too much to swim. I can tell it will be great when it’s back. The outdoor fire pit area is incredible. Alison truly thought of everything when renovating and it shows. We will 100% be booking again!

It was the perfect getaway for a family reunion where catching up with each other was key. We played corn hole, hung in the hot tub, ate s’mores around the fire and completed jigsaw puzzles all while discussing life and where it had taken us. Very enjoyable- however we also found time to visit Abraham Lincoln’s birthplace, Lux Row Distillery, Big Wally’s ice cream, and Mammoth Cave National Park.

We were working only 12 minutes away so it was very convenient especially when we had a late night on Tuesday which made the ride to a bed so accessible. We ran out of propane and had another bottle brought within minutes. We hope to get to stay here again when work brings us back to the Clarkson pipeline station.

Great place for our two small families to stay! We felt right at home and the space was very cozy! We enjoyed the firepit area and they had a great game selection. Convenient to Mammouth Cave National Park!

the surroundings outside were serene and the inside was cozy. It was the perfect place to stay. We are from out of state and we're visiting with family in the area. The home made me wish we visited when it was warmer and that we had a boat. It was above and beyond what we needed but I am grateful we had a peaceful place to come to at the end of the day.

We have stayed at Amy's location one time for an entire weekend. We absolutely loved it! Definitely will book with Amy again! Check-in instructions were very clear! Everything was spotless! Very roomy location and PEACEFUL! Amy had everything we could possibly need for our wkend, she had many extras (covers, pillows, towels, wash cloths,etc). Amy had everything labeled so that you could find anything that you needed very easily! Would definitely recommend this location to everyone!

Had a great stay at Sasquatch Acres. Really nice spot l, peaceful but not too remote. Good location for exploring the surrounding area and the caves. Check in was easy, Lynn was proactive and directions excellent. Place was as described, has a nice cabin feel with some modern touches. Really relaxing few days with the family and dog, highly recommended.

This trip was planned to be a peaceful reset and relaxing. It was all that and more. All the locals are kind and helpful. Great restaurants! Dave’s pizza as well as Porgie’s was wonderful. So was King’s Table. There’s a place called Gentry’s for all your souvenirs, custom made shirts. Just about anything you can think of. The house was so peaceful, clean and inviting. We loved the two back patios. They were wonderful for coffee, games and dinner. If you need it she has it all. Planning another trip when there’s not a hurricane back home. Paula was very kind and let us check in early when we landed. We also went to the state park and walked the nature trail……it was stunning! Thank you for a wonderful stay. We’ll see you again!

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting! Was clean and comfortable! Worth every penny!

We had a great stay at this cute cabin! It has a great deck and we saw tons of birds in the forest around the house. We also really enjoyed the sunsets over the trees with a view of the lake.

Beautiful house, large enough for double the number of people we had (we were a group of 6). The rooms were great, the kitchen was stocked. The steps down to the lake right from the property was perfect for a quick dip in the lake! The outside patio and back area could definitely use a power wash to clean the numerous cobwebs and patio in general. The fire pit was great for s’mores. The basement couch was perfect for a family movie night! We never used the bunk beds but it’s a kids dream!!!!
