Cottage vacation rentals in Rotorua District

Wildberry Cottage captured our hearts from the moment we stepped foot on the grass. The rolling green hills dotted with trees turning red, orange, and yellow, the gorgeous sunsets we watched from the large back windows of the cottage, the Milky Way seen in full effect above us every night, all the wonderful animals we spent time with each day, the beautiful cottage interiors that made us feel cozy and at home, the peace we felt each day waking up and experiencing this place—we will never forget any of it. We could’ve stayed a lifetime. Truly a slice of heaven on earth.

Such a lovely little space, convenient to all tourist attractions an main town. Easy to find and get in to. Great parking space as well. The area was quiet with lovely neighbour right next door. Communication was great and plenty of towels & linen, warm to. Kids enjoyed the spa & board games! Definitely worth what I paid!

The most caring host I’ve ever dealt with on Airbnb, very understanding and kind, this will be the only place I’ll come back to stay at when I’m back with my family in Rotorua, next time my wife will do all the booking ;) lol

This is the second time we have stayed at the lake house in Lake Tarawera, We couldn't recommend it enough! Such an awesome spot if you have a boat or jetskis , If not they have kayaks you are welcome to use. Playground is about a 3-5 minute walk for the kids, Tennis Court is right at your door step. All the neighbors are very friendly and make you feel right at home. If your thinking about booking don't think about it just book it you will have an amazing time!

Such a relaxing stay. Hot tub was a perfect place to unwind and watch the stars. Very peaceful and private! The place has very thing you need for a comfortable and cozy stay. Would recommend to anyone! We are excited to visit again :)

We absolutely loved our stay at Kearu’s Nest. The beds were so comfortable, and the linen was beautiful. After a magical day on the lake, it was amazing to come home to an outdoor fire and relax in the spa. The birdlife was incredible, and the tūī birdsong made it even more special. With just a short walk to the lake, we made the most of early morning swims. We will definitely be back. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality, Ange and Dave!

If you're looking for the ideal location to experience all that Rotorua has to offer, look no further! This beautiful house, with its lovely lake views, is conveniently situated within a short drive of the Redwood Forest, the town center, geothermal walks, and relaxing spa experiences. Marlene and Jason were very responsive and super helpful. Plus, having a dog-friendly space with a great hill for exploring (and amazing views!) was a huge bonus. We highly recommend this property!

Really great cottage in amazing surroundings. It was fabulous to be able to take the dog and wander around the farm and see the animals. The cottage is comfortable and functionable rather than luxurious. This suited exactly what I was looking for. Very nicely located near the airport and supermarket, while still a short drive to town and the MTB park.

Such a great property for a large family to enjoy the simple things. Photos are accurate and place is exactly as described. The reserve next door makes you feel like you have an even larger backyard. Great walks near by, easy access to lake a short walk or 2 minute drive away. Friendly and responsive hosts. Our 2nd time here and will visit again.

Our family had a fantastic stay at the Cheeky Tūī. It was perfectly set up for our two young boys who especially enjoyed the box of Duplo and the trampoline. We had an excellent time exploring the nearby lagoon and were lucky enough to spot trout spawning in the steam. Looking forward to our next adventure at Lake Tarawera!

Dan's place is just a piece of paradise! Right in front of the lake, with private jetty and private ramp, away from the main road, totally safe for children. Highly recommend! Dan is very responsive and welcoming, makes you feel like home. Looking forward to return again!

Great place to stay for riding in the red woods. Bike lockup was fantastic.

I lovedddd our stay at Nadia’s place. It’s a beautiful little home with a lot of personality, that very comfortably fit our family of four with room to stretch out. We sat around the wood burning stove each night and read from the book of Maori myths. About a 20 min walk into town with lots of great restaurants. The walk with smell of sulfur, but that’s Rotorua! Would 100% stay here again and recommend it to anyone traveling here.

Our family had a great week at Rob’s cottage in Rotorua. The location is perfect no matter what your plans are with great lake views. The cottage itself has everything you need and the welcome pack of local produce for staying a week was really appreciated and enjoyed. Rob clearly takes pride in the place, evident through the communications leading up to check in and the personal greeting and walk through of the cottage. We would absolutely stay again. Thanks Rob!!

We loved staying at Alison and Marc's place. The house was very comfortable and in such a truly beautiful location by the lake. What made made it very special though was how kind and hospitable Alison and Marc were, over and above what we have experienced before. They were also very quick to respond when we needed help. We had been given all the information in the first place but were having a simple moment and they sorted us out!

Lovely place, beautiful views and jetty. Close to Okere Falls cafe for a lovely coffee and food. Would highly recommended

We had a great stay at this kiwi farmyard cottage. The wooden interior was nice and it was pretty cosy with the heater on. Our host was easy to contact and friendly.
