Philip and Madeline's casita is so lovely, surrounded by trees and with a beautiful sunrise. It's in the sleepy village of Cabuya - the village is walkable but a 4x4 is definitely recommended for getting around the area since there's not much going on locally. The casita is fully equipped for a few days or a few weeks - BYO groceries is advisable rather than eating out for every meal, especially as everything is closed in the village on Mondays and Tuesdays. Madeline was very helpful, especially as I had trouble finding their house at night when I first arrived. Strong wifi if you're a remote worker, otherwise simply relax.

We were welcomed with open arms and greeted directly with a regional watermelon. We were also invited directly to the evening fiesta patronal. A heartfelt experience to internalize the pura vida feeling of the locals. We fell in love with the small place and will be back soon.

Absolutely beautiful place that made us never want to leave…even to go to the beach! The view is incredible…we were entertained by monkeys, squirrels and all kinds of birds. This villa has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Barbara and her husband were great hosts and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!!!

Our stay at this place was tropical perfection. The hosts have created a dreamy coastal escape that was better than we could have hoped for. This new property is beautiful, quiet and literally a few minutes walk from the beach. The studio is set back a comfortable distance from the main house so that it felt like we had plenty of privacy without being isolated. The new construction is beautiful and well-designed, providing plenty of natural indoor light and high ceilings to make it feel spacious. The air conditioning and fans were very efficient and effective. The back patio, outdoor shower and private pool make this feel like a truly luxurious bargain for the price. The hosts provided plenty of great kitchen amenities, including a full-size fridge, which comes in handy in such tropical climates. If you're visiting the area, we can't recommend this property highly enough. We wish we could have stayed longer.
