House vacation rentals in Rains County

Loved the pool and all the available extras like floats. TV had several options to watch, Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and Direct TV. Well stocked with amenities. We totally enjoyed our stay and probably book again.

Peaceful cabin retreat—pure magic! We had the most amazing stay at this cozy lakeside cabin! Nestled right near a quiet little pond, the setting was peaceful, private, and absolutely beautiful. Waking up to the sound of birds and having coffee on the porch overlooking the water was such a relaxing way to start each day. The cabin itself was spotless, well-equipped, and filled with charming rustic touches that made it feel warm and welcoming. The host was fantastic—responsive, thoughtful. We especially the perfect sunset. This place is a hidden gem and a perfect escape from the hustle of daily life. We’re already planning our next visit!

The BASShole was absolutely amazing and Beautiful. We were so in love with this place that we booked it again for July 4th! The house was so cute and clean, the decor was amazing with the Bass everywhere! The View is GORGEOUS and April was an amazing host, responsive, informative and very friendly and professional!! If you are looking for a spot to fish, cookout, be with nature this is the place!

We came here for a couple nights while on a family trip. Overall, we definitely enjoyed ourselves. If you want to see the lake you have to walk or drive at least a quarter mile which isn’t bad. As far as cleanliness is concerned, the house could stand a good cleaning. It wasn’t very clean but we still had a great stay and enjoyed ourselves. The yard wasnt kept up but someone came and mowed it while we were gone one day. Overall, a really cute little place to stay.

Our stay was wonderful! This house is stunning and we had a wonderful time! You will not be disappointed when you stay here! The host is also very quick at responding to messages and checked in one us about a problem to see if we were having issues. I would 100% stay here again!

This is the second time we rent this house. This is the perfect summer getaway for a weekend with friends and family! We appreciated the numerous amenities, including the large firepit, the ponds and the boats available for use. Thank you to the host for having us.

Great place. We were there for a Memorial Service. It was clean, had great beds, and was easy to be near family.

We really enjoyed our time at Michelle’s place. The view from the house is really nice and the neighborhood is quiet. We would definitely come back again and will plan on fishing some from the dock.

Nice house, a little dated on the interior but it's quaint, clean and easy to access. No WIFI/Cable but AT&T cell service was just fine.

Place was full of light wi the windows and the view of the lake amazing we caught plenty of catfish on the bank I even caught an albino catfish only thing which not much but the walk to house and the lake was lengthy but ok wish we had a golf cart to use will be back next year

This was a last minute getaway for the kids to fish. So glad their place was available. It was perfect..lots of big fish!! They were so excited.. would definitely love to go back..

We absolutely loved Hay Meadow and will definitely book again! The gorgeous home and the peaceful surroundings made the stay a complete joy!

The home was great, absolutely stellar host and I would encourage anyone to stay here! But this trip was just about fishing so I have a few comments that might help others if bank fishing is your primary goal. If you're looking to catch smaller fish for eating, then this location is ideal. The pier that extends out to the water is both a huge positive and a potential negative. It allows you to cast out further if you want to, but unfortunately since it's right in the middle of your fishing area, fish can easily swim into the legs of the pier and get wrapped around the pier legs with the line potentially getting snagged or broke. I lost an incredibly large fish due to the long pier, but it was still an incredible experience to have such a large fish on the line. There is no doubt, if the pier was not there this would be a premier location to bank fish Lake Tawakoni. When I come back, I may bring a boat. :)

Overall we had a good stay, Check in and out instructions were clear, beautiful property on the lake, however the dock advertised in the listing is nothing like it is in pictures…. It is unusable because of the amount of spiders that call it home I’m sure it maybe hard to stay on top of keeping them out of the dock but necessary for full use of the property as advertised.

This place was absolutely perfect for what we needed this weekend during the 2025 31st Skeeter Owners Tournament! Very accessible to the Boat House where we could keep the boat in the water and not have to load and unload throughout the day like we have in the past. The house was beautifully kept and the perfect size for our entire family of five. We hope to stay here again next year!

Our family stayed at the Lazy 8 for a weekend getaway. It was delightful. The house was cute, clean and perfect for the weekend. A wonderful charcuterie board was in the refrigerator for our arrival and it was delicious! We grilled out, relaxed on the porch, played games and watched deer graze on the property. The guys went fishing and the girls went to the drive thru safari! It was a blast. We look forward to planning our next stay here.

Fantastic stay for a wedding weekend! Was very comfortable for 3 couples. We all had our own bathroom and a great living and dining area to accommodate all of us. Liz was very responsive and you can tell she is a host that goes the extra mile! Would recommend for anyone in East Texas.

I'm an owner of a Moving business in Memphis, TN. When I have a large crew working out of town, we enjoy being able to getting them a house to sleep comfortably in after driving long hours and to get a good night's sleep before loading/unloading furniture the next day. Donna's house was a peaceful place for our crew to do just that. Our crew was only there for 1 afternoon and night. They left 1st thing in the morning. I did like that Donna makes checking in and checking out extremely easy as this makes it not only easy for my crew but me as well. Highly recommend, at least for short stays as that's the only experience we are able to speak on. Thank you Donna for providing my crew with a clean, comfy, and spacious home for them to get a good night's sleep.

The house was fantastic. Very clean and comfortable. We caught a bunch of different types of fish off the dock. This was our third time staying at this house and we will be back!
