Vacation rentals with lake access in Putnam County

Kelley is a generous host and her home is thoughtfully appointed and beautifully designed. It was a peaceful weekend, perfectly located between Hudson Valley attractions we wanted to hit while secluded enough for us to retreat and recharge.

The home was perfect. Fit all of our needs. Yuri was an amazing host easy to get in touch with if needed and very friendly. Would definitely stay here again and for sure would recommend to a friend!

My parents and I really enjoyed our stay at Mark’s. His house was beautifully situated right on Lake Mahopac with plenty to do in town and in the surrounding area. Everything was as described and met all of our needs. Mark was extremely accommodating with our length of stay (~ 6 weeks) and allowing us to bring our animals (2 dachshunds, 1 cat). Check-in was easy and upon arrival we were greeted with a gift basket and a binder with all sorts of info (emergency, food, fun activities). The backyard was beautiful, completely fenced in, and super convenient for the pups. When we had questions, all we had to do was send off a quick text and Mark responded in a timely manner. I can’t recommend Mark’s place enough!

The host was very friendly and responded to all questions promptly, because of my reason, the laptop was left in the room when checking out, and when I remembered for a few days, I contacted the owner to confirm that I was in the room and quickly picked it up.Thank you so much for your help with the homeowner. 2. I love this house, there is a parking space at the entrance, the room is very warm, the kitchen is fully equipped, when you check out, there are instant noodles in the cupboard, which is very warm.

Our stay at rebeccca’s lake house was perfect. The space is exactly as pictured and described. The home was immaculately clean. Rebecca was very communicative and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the home had wonderful amenities. We were up in the area in the winter to take our kid skiing and had a great time. I’m sure it would be wonderful in warmer weather to enjoy the lake. Highly recommend!

We had a fabulous long week end at Rachel s home. It was simply perfect ! The location is amazing with private access to the lake and a lot of privacy and very calm surrounding. The house is really well equipped while not being cluttered. Everything is well organized. Very responsive host and seamless check in !

The Art Grove was the perfect place for me and my parents to stay! It has all the amenities you need during a stay including a grill outside for cooking and a fully stocked kitchen. Russell and his wife, Janet were incredibly friendly and helpful. The artwork around the house was an added bonus to enjoy during the stay! I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a beautiful home to stay in while visiting the area. It’s also perfect for those who love to go hiking, as there are plenty of trails nearby!

Rob is an exceptional host! He is very communicative and generous. We felt right at home and appreciated everything he set up to accommodate us. There was plenty of room to spread out and read. The tub is perfect for extra relaxation. It was a short drive to town for anything we needed. We would definitely come back!

nice size place for a person or couple. Location easy to get around to other places. Host nice likes to check in. the only challenge for high cosmetic/make up users tiny bathroom sink makes balancing bottles etc a little challenging. Big TVs in bedroom and living room. lots of parking space feet from private entrance very private quiet never heard hosts son

What a wonderful place to stay while exploring the hiking trails and natural beauty of the area! I felt right at home, the listing was accurately described, and communications were clear. I would happily stay here again!

This was just what I needed for my first trip to Mohegan Lake! Quiet neighborhood. Cozy bed. Great water pressure. I’ll definitely be booking again if I come back to this cute little town.

My husband and I stayed at the Waterview over Valentine's wknd. Instructions were precise, everything looked like the pics, and even better. Unit was simply but beautifully decorated, clean, spacious and comfortable with stunning views of Lake Zoar. We had a small issue upon arrival but Kristi was super prompt with a resolve and was kind and professional. A Winter storm was in effect and she was flexible with our arrival time and exit for our safety, which meant alot. We slept like babies to the sounds of owls hoo'ing and icy rain hitting the snow covered lake, which even at night was just stunning. I woke up early to watch the snow and ice melt from the lake...it really was a magical thing to behold. I saw deer tracks and was sorry I missed them. Saw mallards and several GORGEOUS hooded merganser, as well as several different species of birds flying over. If you love nature and gorgeous spaces that feel like home, book the Waterview. We hope to revisit in warmer months. Thank u Kristi

Went to locate a go to place for me to reset from life’s nonsense and this was the most healing environment in a peaceful cozy house.

Fantastic experience! Kelly was very clear with instructions, check-in was an absolute breeze. Upon arrival we found the space exceptionally clean and well stocked with everything you could ever wish for. The bed was extremely comfortable and the views along the river did not disappoint. Also loved being able to have a campfire after a long day of hiking. Great place :)

What a wonderful place to rest, relax, and maybe get a little bit of work done too. Home was perfect for the whole work from home situation with a extra monitor and everything. Also had a fully enclosed yard for the dogs. We spent the week up in Connecticut, in this wonderful home, that felt perfectly in between a hotel, and simply staying at a friend‘s house who was extremely clean, conscientious, and out of town. Would recommend to other others and will try to stay again.

We loved the view out to the lake, which was different every day and throughout the day. The open layout of the house is great to enjoy the views, and if the weather is nice, there are great sitting areas outside as well. The house is well-stocked and cozy. The hosts are friendly and always responsive. There are also great parks to visit nearby. We had a great winter weekend and would love to stay again.

Great place to be with beautiful views of a private lake, gorgeous sunrises, cozy cottage and warm, electric fireplace a plus, full kitchen, near my family and friends, and my favorite places to hike and enjoy nature, easy access from route 84, very peaceful and tranquil and great hosts

Such a cozy space!!! My small family really did enjoy our peaceful stay. I would definitely book again when in the area. I felt such peace and serenity sitting under the stars, in front of the crackling campfire. It was me and the hubby with 2 of our girls ages 10 and 16. They loved the hot tub and s’mores:). Our stay at the Lake House Cabin was nothing short of magical! This charming 1940s cabin offered the perfect backdrop for celebrating my wife's birthday with our adult children. The stunning views of the lake were a highlight, providing a serene and picturesque setting that made our family gatherings truly special. We loved the easy access to kayaks and a canoe, which allowed us to explore the water and create lasting memories together. The cabin itself was cozy and well-appointed, making us feel right at home. We appreciated the blend of rustic charm and modern amenities, which made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place to reconnect with family and enjoy nature, I can't recommend this lake house highly enough. We left with full hearts and plans to return!

Great place for our family to stay during the Thanksgiving holiday. Peaceful and comfortable. We had everything we needed and more! Bathroom was spa-like, beds were comfortable and warm. Big TV and comfy couch was great for a family movie night. Kitchen was very well equipped. Will definitely come again!

Our stay was lovely and the cottage on the lake was everything we needed to get out of the city and relax. We stayed during a bit of a snowstorm and our host Kevin was overly helpful making sure we could get in and out safely. He salted and shoveled the walkway and our parking spot for us. Kevin was one of the most attentive and kind hosts we've had and we would gladly stay again!
