Vacation rentals with breakfast in Puno

We had a great stay at Aroy’s place. He and his family are some of the nicest people we’ve met here in Peru. Aroy was always available and eager to help with anything we needed. It was tough acclimatizing after coming straight from Lima, but Aroy’s support made a big difference. The home is beautiful and has plenty of light during the day. The pit toilet took some getting used to, but you’re on a floating island so we couldn’t expect much more. We’re really grateful for the hospitality!

El señor Henry y su familia han sido hosts de lujo, siempre atentos a lo que necesitemos e increíblemente amables. Nos recogieron del puerto, nos ayudaron a acomodarnos y nos ofrecieron un tour en el que Henry nos explicó más acerca de la isla, nos brindó un recorrido por ella y pudimos vivir la experiencia de la pesca artesanal (él fue muy amable y paciente al responder todas nuestras preguntas), luego regresamos a apreciar y comprar algunas artesanías que realiza su esposa. La cena nos la sirvieron dentro de la habitación que contaba con calefacción, así que dormimos muy cómodos. Al día siguiente nos brindaron un desayuno digno de hotel cinco estrellas. Mis amigos y yo definitivamente volveremos, ya hemos recomendado a Henry con otros turistas que planean visitar Puno. Muchas gracias por todo Henry y familia!!

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt bei César und Mariela! Neben der wunderschönen Unterkunft wurden wir jeden Morgen mit einem sehr leckeren und reichhaltigen Frühstück versorgt. Abends haben wir uns auch für das Abendessen entschieden, was wir ebenfalls sehr empfehlen können. César hat uns außerdem bei dem Buchen einer Tagestour und bei allen weiteren Anliegen unterstützt. Dazu zählt auch der frühe Transfer zu unserer Bushaltestelle. César hat außerdem einen kleinen Ausflug zu einer Uros Gemeinde mit uns unternommen. Dort konnten wir einiges lernen und hatten auch die Chance traditionelle Handarbeit zu einem fairen Preis zu erwerben. Wir hatten trotz einem Regentag eine wunderbare Zeit, da die Unterkunft vor allem auch zum Entspannen und Ausruhen einlädt. Wir bedanken uns nochmal bei César und Mariela für ihre Gastfreundlichkeit und würden jederzeit wieder ihre Unterkunft buchen! :-)

Everything about our stay with Felix was like a dream. He was extremely responsive and helpful from the first moment we booked the stay. We took the night bus from Cusco and arrived in Puno at 5:15 am he had arranged for a driver to be waiting for us to take us to the port to meet Felix. Even though we were there hours before checkin he had our rooms ready and waiting and gave us space to rest before serving us a delicious breakfast on our arrival. He had arranged for us to take a tour to another island and when we returned he personally took us to a place to show us a typical Uros lifestyle and then take one of the fancy reed boats back to our island. He served us dinner and gave us hot water bottles to take bed. On checkout he again arranged a driver for us to take us the over an hour drive to the a Juliaca airport. Everything was so wonderful it felt like you were staying with a friend. I cannot say enough good things.

Caeli fue muy atenta durante mi estadía.

Sin duda uno de los lugares más bonitos de nuestro viaje en Perú! Mayra fue una excelente anfitriona. Es una mujer emprendedora que ayuda a su comunidad y ofrece un servicio maravilloso. La habitación es muy hermosa con una vista muy bonita al lago, muy espaciosa y muy limpia. El balcón es perfecto para disfrutar de la puesta del sol. Se encuentra en una de las islas, que pertenecen a la familia de Mayra, donde puedes comer comida local y comprar artesanías. Gracias a Mayra pudimos conocer la historia de las islas y como viven en su comunidad, nos llevó a visitar otras islas y otras familias y conocer sus historias y su cultura. También nos ayudó a conseguir un tour a la isla de Taquila. La comunicación con Mayra fue muy fácil, las indicaciones para llegar a la isla fueron claras, siempre estuvo muy pendiente de nosotros, haciendo que nuestra estadía sea muy cómoda. Recomiendo mucho la suite de Mayra para disfrutar del lago TitiKaka y las maravillosas islas de los Uros.

Nelio is a very good host and makes you feel like home. He provides tips for activities during the day. He is very punctual, which is very convenient when you have to catch a bus. He even dropped us at the harbour at 5am, brought a blanket to keep us warm on the boat and called a taxi to the bus terminal (which was already there when we arrived at the harbour). Only tip I could give to future guests of Nelio is to bring some snacks and drinks for your stay, since you’re staying in the middle of (beautiful) nature without much shops around. Nelio is also very transparant and fair with the prices (you just have to ask him ;)).

Ruben, his wife, his daughter and other children were so welcoming and accommodating! Beautiful people, generous with their time and efforts. I definitely recommend the island 2-hour tour Ruben provides. Something to note is that the hot water / shower system is a bit hit or miss, but it didn’t disturb our short stay too much. Would stay again!
