Barn vacation rentals in Portugal

The house is perfect if you want to feel like you’re staying in a rural location but with the airport 10/15 minutes away and a village 200m away. The property is a lovely chalet set in 360 degree countryside. It is great for walking and relaxing but also well located to explore the island. The downstairs living space is very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen and cosy living room area including a wood fire. The downstairs bedrooms were spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. Both bathrooms were also spotlessly clean. The upstairs bedroom is on a mezzanine, but around a corner from the balcony - so you are enclosed away from the living areas downstairs. Joana was a fantastic host - she was always very helpful and informative and provided some lovely local breads and jams on arrival. Thank you!

Literally everything was great - very clean accommodation, all amenities available, the incredibly beautiful guesthouse that constantly gave the impression that we were in a wonderland. Nienke always responded quickly to all our messages and was there when we needed her. We are very grateful to her for all the recommendations and help. We really felt like we stayed at our friends' house. If it were possible to give more than 5 stars to this place, I would gladly do so. We would love to come back here again!

Beautiful house and garden with the most spectacular surroundings. Claudia was really helpful and quick to respond as were other people I spoke to who looked after the house. So friendly. We requested a crib and it was pristine which was really pleasant. The house was really clean and we made use of the really beautiful log burner. Made us feel cosy in the evenings I’d highly recommend Claudia’s lovely characterful house. We had a lovely Christmas there. Many thanks Claudia

Dave and Wendy were great hosts! Always attentive to our needs and those of children. They gave information on everything that was needed for our fantastic stay. They greeted us with a treat for the snack plus seasonal fruits and vegetables grown on their property. They left us completely at ease, both inside and outside, we felt at home! The dimensions of the accommodation are better than the photos on the site reveal to us. Everything being great, it's impossible to characterize the friendliness and humanism of the couple Wendy and Dave. In contact with local people we understand how this couple of citizens is cherished and respected! Finally, even your Belgian shepherd dog is impressive with affection, always gentle and well laid out, as well as your black cat, full of character, who only asks for a few bites by placing himself on his belly! Based on respect and welcome, I could almost say we were friends. We will be back for sure!!

Absolutely enjoyed every minute at Vila III, Spacious, clean, beautiful surroundings and amazing scenery. could not fault this home, had virtually everything you needed, you do need a car to venture out as the home is secluded and in fact i didn't hire a car initially, but on arrival Bruno the host sorted a car hire, which arrived the very next day and any questions you required, Bruno was there on hand. So thank you Bruno for our amazing stay at Vila III, loved the place 5 star

Lovely family property in a quiet location within easy reach of the lagoon. Laurent was responsive to our requests and very helpful.

After a long journey, Quinta Martin was an oasis of peace. The views were spectacular. The cottage quirky and characterful. Zoe and Martin were lovely helpful friendly hosts and theit animals a complete delight. An added bonus was the lovely private pool to swim in.

This typical old stone house is a haven of peace where we spent 2 weeks of restful vacation and in an idyllic setting The garden is fantastic and the pool has sublime panoramic views of the surrounding nature Garden table, armchairs, swing, barbecue, umbrellas, everything is there for evenings and lunch on the terrace A real country home in the heart of nature The house is well appointed, everything is done to feel at home Many touches upon arrival: fridge with enough to make breakfast and snack, a fruit basket Very clean accommodation, linens in quantity A thoughtful and very welcoming neighborhood Tiago is very responsive and available if needed Many tours can be made by car to reach different cities Ponte de Lima, Braga among other things: travel time between 20-40 minutes Around the house within 10 km of many rivers with landscaped corners

We were very welcome, Steve and Liesa were very helpful during our stay and were always available to answer our questions. They prepared a map with the tourist areas and restaurants to visit nearby. When we arrived, the house was impeccable and clean. Everything was prepared with great affection. The place is rural, calm and great to rest. However, tourist areas, supermarkets and restaurants are relatively accessible by car. Steve and Liesa guaranteed the best conditions for our stay, offering towels, toaster, vacuum cleaner coffee maker, fan and utensils!

We had a great time in this beautiful, beautifully renovated cottage. The bedding is impeccable, which is an important point. Francisco was very responsive to replace the nespresso coffee maker that was not working, we had a new one in the afternoon of our arrival. We warmly recommend this cottage!

It's a beautiful clean house in a private and quiet location. The listing is accurate. It is centrally located walking distance from the Lagoa das Furnas, the host provides a a cleaning service every 2 days and there is a wonderful restaurant in the complex run by hosts. The kids played outside and had we visited during a warmer period we would have used the pool; instead we used the fireplace.

Beautiful tranquil little converted farmhouse. All the amenities you need, lovely pool and very friendly dog. It is walkable to supermarket and local bars or a cab to Guimarães is very cheap. Our host was very friendly and helpful throughout.

Cocoon apartment and pleasant place, the pool is a real delight, close to many sites not to be missed in Portugal, Joao and Teka are very considerate and attentive hosts, I highly recommend this stay was one of the best we have done. Thank you to them

Rich & SAM were great hosts who went the extra mile that made our stay special including providing warm fresh bread, home made cakes and scones, delicious! They also provided fresh farm eggs, milk freshly squeezed orange juice and a lot more…… We didn’t have the best of weather during our stay but we were warm and cozy and additional wood pellets were provided just as we were running low without having to ask. If you like walking it is an ideal location to trek the countryside but within a 10-15 minute drive of a number of good eateries. If you choose to eat in the kitchen has all the essentials and weather permitting you can dine on the terrace looking out on rolling hills and distant farms. We had a great 4 days and are looking forward to our return.

Originally we were planning to go to Boom festival and were looking to rent a house nearby. It turned out that the house was much better than the festival. The property is authentic and beautiful. The house is full of history and every detail is so special. We really enjoyed our time inside and outside on the patio by the swimming pool. The kids were absolutely happy there! The kitchen is so well equipped. The living room area is stunning. The bedrooms are super comfy and the air conditioner did its job providing a refreshing coolness. Highly recommend to everyone! Thanks to to the super friendly and welcoming host!

Very cute, quiet place! The right place to relax, for example at the associated communal pool. If you want to take care of yourself, you should be well on foot or have a car with you (the mini supermarket around the corner is unfortunately permanently closed, next mini supermarket about 25 min walk). Neighbours are very friendly!

Philipe and Claudia are very welcoming hosts who remain discreet. The place is nice and the place is in line with our expectations.
