Rideau Pines - Big Rideau Lake

Vacation on the shores of the Big Rideau Lake, this cottage has an open concept and a private screened-in porch. Its a great place to spend a week or two away from the city! Relax on the decks that span the length of the cottage on both sides. Enjoy the lawn and fire-pit on a starry summer night and wake up to a water view of the bay. This cottage is located close to the popular tourist town of Portland Ontario, only minutes from Highway #15 mid-way between Toronto and Montreal and less than an hour from the US/Canada border making this a great place for families to congregate! Please note that this cottage was just purchased in April 2019 and was extensively renovated just prior to the rental season this year including a new deck the full length of the cottage, new bunkie, and other cosmetic enhancements! Included: 3 kayaks, 2 SUPs, a large dock to handle up to three boats, fire pit, full kitchen, full bathroom, large lake-facing deck, and open concept kitchen/living room w/ a wood stove. There are three bedrooms in the main cottage, two with queen beds and one with a set of bunk beds, a double futon in the living room plus a full bathroom. The bunkhouse has a queen bed and a set of bunk beds. ***The wifi is super fast now, up to 935 mbs!*** There are several golf courses within a 30 minute drive, plus shopping and restaurants, historic sites, and walking and biking trails. (Airbnb guests please search for "Rideau Lakes Cottages" on Youtube, then click on Playlists, then "Rideau Pines") The Big Rideau lake offers many miles of boating, fishing and water-sports, plus Murphy's Point Provincial Park, and towns with restaurants on the water including "The Galley" in Portland that is on the water in Portland Harbour. Walking distance to the village grocery, bank, liquor store and gas station. Beds: In the cottage the master bedroom has a Queen bed, bedroom #2 had a double bed and bedroom #3 has a set of bunk beds (two single mattresses). The bunkie has a queen bed and a set of bunk beds with a double on bottom and singe on top. The Rideau Canal is recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and was rated #2 as an exceptional historic site destination by National Geographic. The Rideau Lakes Region is a great place to explore. You can take advantage of the great fishing, boating, swimming, water-skiing, or lock through the historic canal system to the other attached lakes and towns. In the surrounding towns and cities there are lots of activities, and events to participate in including, golf, historic tours, boat tours, shopping, restaurants, hiking trails, and lots more! You won’t forget this memorable experience! A 1974 River Boat has been lovingly transformed in to a whimsical all season cabin. Come for the fantasy then bask in the comfort and romance of it. Luxurious amenities include everything but the kitchen sink..literally! A perk to no running water is that I do your dishes at my place while you relax! Beautiful Lake Home in South Eastern Ontario

Our house is a wonderful place to enjoy being on a lake. You will be staying in our home where we live with our cat when we do not have airbnb guests. When we have guests, we live in a tiny house in the backyard and are available if needed. There is no landline but cell phone service is good. Internet is sometimes slow. It is not a good fit for large groups who are noisy or families with very energetic children because we have close neighbours who enjoy peace and quiet.

Beautiful Waterfront Cottage on the Big Rideau

Enjoy your getaway on the prestigious Big Rideau Lake, the largest lake in the Rideau Canal System, a UNESCO designated site. We are located in Portland On. We are walking distance to Len’s Cove Marina. This is very convenient to rent a boat, launch your own in the public boat launch or go for lunch or dinner at their licensed Galley Restaurant. Our cottage has heat and air conditioning. We can communicate in French and English.
