Monthly Rentals in Poorhouse Cove

Very unique home, beautiful views, quiet, everything we were looking for. We ordered Lobsters from across the street (super nice people) in the morning and they had them ready for pick up at dinner.

Nathan’s cottage was wonderfully cozy and perfect for a weekend getaway! The kitchen was fully supplied with all sorts of pots and pans and plenty of different cups and even a cocktail shaker! We were very excited to stay in one night to cook dinner and stir up some drinks! The fire was awesome, too, and warmed up the place nicely as we came in from the cold. Beyond the kitchen, we took full advantage of the DVD player and deck of cards and board games. Nathan gave us wonderful recommendations for nearby stores and trails to check out as he dropped us off fresh scones each morning. It was everything we could have asked for and more! Thank you, Nathan!

Property was as described and is accurately represented on the site. We were returning to Maine for a family friend's wedding and only stayed the weekend. We wish we had more time to explore the trails around the cove or do a little bird watching. Beyond quiet, absolutely still ... The surroundings provided us instant and absolute recharge. stargazing is a must with this clear night sky. Barbara and Alan are attentive hosts and not in the way. Responsive and cordial. it was wonderful meeting them and staying in the Hermit Thrush House (HTH) as it's known. it was nice learning about the properties background and how it got its name. Plenty of towels and hot water, easily accessible from main roads but tucked away in a quiet, wooded location, everything these suburban New Yorker's needed for a short immersion in natural surroundings and a comfortable home base for our weekend's social calander. Just returned from a two nights stay at Robert’s. We both enjoyed our time there very much. Everything was just as described and we had everything we needed during our stay. We were even able to make a few easy meals to save on dining out which was helpful. Robert made some great suggestions on how to make the most of our time in the Boothbay area. We hope to return for another visit during the summer months.
