Sitting pretty in a wild flower meadow surrounded by open fields, this barn conversion is countryside simplicity at its best: updated appliances and rustic furniture arranged for open-plan living to relax unwind and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. The barn is located in the meadow behind our thatched cottage. The space is entirely your own and is self catered with a well equipped open plan kitchen. We're on hand should you need any advice or assistance during your stay, though you'll have your own privacy and can interact as much or as little as you'd like. Enjoy pastoral tranquility here whilst being within an easy 10-minute reach of the medieval charm of Lavenham. Public footpaths are close by or venture further afield to admire the beautiful Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds. Once you arrive in the barn, there is a small collection of books about the surrounding area and county. We can of course recommend places to visit.

In the pleasant village of Great Waldingfield, with a pub, village shop, and close to Sudbury (3 miles), Lavenham (4 miles), Bury St. Edmunds(16 miles). We live next door so are happy to help with directions and what to do in the area.

The Old Stables

On the Suffolk Essex border surrounded by fields, trees, and plenty of wildlife lies our old late 18th century stable building. Just 5 minutes off the A12 and you are in a different world. We live in the thatched Farm Cottage, the oldest part dating back to the 15th century and the stable is situated at the end of the drive. Excellent location for cycling (on the National Cycle Route 1), or visiting Jimmys Farm just 4.9 miles up the road. Walking is a must or just relax and unwind!

The Stables At Sprotts Farm

Sitting in 10 acers of private grounds, Sprotts Farm is the perfect countryside getaway. The Stables is a beautifully converted barn that was completely updated in 2020. This cosy cottage sleeps four guests in a double room with a WC and a twin room. The Stables boast a large walk in shower. Looking forward to meeting you! PS: we have a pond in the main garden and our chickens are free range and wonder freely around the gardens.

We can't recommend Denise's Rural Retreat more. It was perfect for everything we needed, cosy and quiet, comfortable bed and well equipped. Very clean, lovely amenities and Denise really went above and beyond to help us during our stay. Thankyou for a lovely short stay - we wish we could have stayed longer!

Fabulous find! We were in Suffolk for a family wedding and Rectory Lodge was like a home from home - comfortable, clean and lots of lovely space for the family to hang out and get ready for the wedding. Beautiful little courtyard and v friendly cat! Lindsey was a fantastic host - totally discreet but very quick to respond to any questions raised. Would highly recommend.

Just back from a few days staying at this property just outside Hadleigh. The accommodation was extremely clean, well furnished and we were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped and the fridge contained some unexpected but excellent provisions (thank you, Sharon). The property was in quiet and peaceful countryside, but an easy walk into Hadleigh town centre. We enjoyed the gated courtyard outside space, as the weather was good. There were numerous dog walks from the door of the property. The host, Sharon, introduced herself when we arrived and made sure we knew where she was if we needed anything, but she did not intrude on our privacy. I can thoroughly recommend this property and would be keen to return at some point in the future.
