Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Polonnaruwa

These treehouses were one of the many highlights of my Sri Lanka adventure. My porch had a perfect view of Sigiriya rock. I saw chipmunks, monkeys, peacocks, monitor lizards, and a lot more wildlife in my weekend here. Amazing hospitality and local tips along with great food and cocktails were the icing on the cake for this trip. I look forward to coming back on my next trip!

What an amazing hidden gem. Our hosts could not do enough for us and we stayed an extra day. They organised a tuk tuk tour that included Sigiriya and Dambulla and other local beauty spots and also a safari to nearby Hurulu Eco Park where we saw lots of elephant. The house location is perfect overlooking the lake. We stopped at a restaurant that provided Take Away for our dinner and breakfast was provided. Would love to return but hope others have as much enjoyment as we did and 100% recommend.

Binara is a very friendly host who fulfilled all our wishes: he arranged an unforgettable trip to the bird island for us, drove us to the meeting point and picked us up again, rented us bicycles for the trip to the temple city at a very reasonable price and arranged a driver to the east coast for us at short notice because ours had dropped out. The whole family is totally likeable, the food delicious, the rooms wonderful. Seeing the day awaken from the balcony in the morning and looking out into the quiet garden full of palm trees is a wonderful experience. We recommend the accommodation 100%.

The room was super clean and the bed was comfortable. There was hot water and mosquito net. The family was nice with me and their kid took me on a walk. Really good advices and help to organise visits if it was needed (he organised a tuktuk to take me to the sunrise hike in Pidurangala). They also have a restaurant in which they prepare amazing food. Therefore, I really recommend this homestay because on top of that is super cheap!! Thanks for everything

The pictures do not lie! That is your view during breakfast and arrival juice. The host gladly hooked us up with an amazing private safari. Nipuna the driver for our safari made this one of our favorite stops during this trip. So many lovely memories. Book it now! Stop looking at other places and book this one! You will not be disappointed.

We absolutely loved our stay at Amith’s place - it’s in a great location close to Sigiriya and Pidurangala Rock, but still in a calm and quiet area. Everything was clean and the pool was lovely to cool down in after a hot climb. Amith is a fantastic host, and prepared us a wonderful breakfast. Cannot recommend this place enough! 10/10

Our stay in Malaka's place was amazing. Malaka and Indica are super friendly and will attend your every need. Breakfast was amazing and always prepared at the time you want. we stayed 2 nights to go to Sigiryia Rock and the placement of the house was perfect for that. Lots of restaurants on walking distance!

The balcony, from which you could start the morning, was an absolute highlight – it was so nice to sit there, drink the first coffee and watch the squirrels jump from tree to tree. The birds also came to visit often, especially during breakfast. The surroundings were quiet and idyllic – exactly what we wanted for a break from everyday life. We also went on some safari tours, and it was a fantastic experience to be so close to nature. What we particularly liked was the hospitality of the local people. We had the most wonderful stay at Shen Residence in Sigiriya. Shen and his sister Hansi are such kind, thoughtful hosts — they made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. They helped us organise all our excursions and even arranged a TukTuk driver so we could get around easily. What made the stay extra special was that it was my partner’s birthday, and they surprised us with a birthday cake, such a thoughtful gesture we’ll never forget. The place itself is beautiful and peaceful, but it was their warmth and hospitality that truly made it unforgettable. We genuinely can’t recommend Shen Residence enough!
